Bible Verse of The Day – 7-3-17

Ephesians 6:14 (NKJV) 14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness…

Stepping up to the plate can sometimes be scary. There is no doubt about that. But if it is what God wants us to do, we need to take the step.

Many years ago, we were asked to step up to the plate and be the pillars of a crumbling church.

We had never done anything like that before. And at the time, we were hurting within ourselves after seeing what had taken place. We were in the midst of our own pain and sorrow. Our hearts were hurting from the damage that was done. It touched us in a very personal way.

When things happen to us personally, it can be hard to pick up the pieces and move on. It’s hard to be strong in these situations.

We ached so badly in our hearts. And our eyes were filled with tears. We couldn’t see a light at the end of a very dark tunnel. But, that is when God builds that muscle in us, to believe for what we can’t see.

It’s in those moments that we forgive, trust and keep going and do what needs to be done, even when we are hurting and in pain.

He brings beautiful things out of what seem to be terrible situations.

We just have to step up to the plate and stand, letting Him lead, before we get to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and the beauty that is waiting there for us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-13-17

Psalm 46:10 (NKJV) 10 Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!

Sometimes we think that God doesn’t know where we are at. We think He has too much going on with everything else in this big world; bigger problems, and big issues to deal with. We think He is preoccupied and has no idea what is happening in our lives.

But that’s exactly what the enemy wants us to think, that we have nobody and we are on our own. He likes to intimidate us and make us feel low so that he can say things to destroy us.

We want to remind you that there is NO way that you are on your own. And that if we are in Christ, we are more than conquerors! He will stand with us, for us and He will have our back. Together we win!

Romans 8:37 (NKJV) 37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-29-17

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

One morning, bright and early, I left my house to go and visit someone dear to me. As I approached their door, on the other side of the same duplex home, there stood a woman in tears. I asked her, “are you OK?. She continued to break down and explain to me why she was so upset. So I said to her, with all confidence in God, “it will all work out”.

At that very moment, I happened to look down at her feet and noticed a single penny laying there on the ground. I picked it up and handed it to her and said “I believe God is speaking to you”.

I asked her if she knew what was written on it. She just looked at me, with a puzzled expression on her face. So I said “it says “in God we trust” on that coin”. She smiled from ear to ear and stuck it in her pocket.

Sometimes we all just need a little reminder to get us through the day.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-17-17

Psalm 139:7-10 (NKJV) 7 Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? 8 If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. 9 If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, 10 Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me.

There is nowhere we can go where God isn’t present.

Nowhere should this be more comforting to us than when we’re in the midst of a storm or a trial.

Sometimes when we’re facing a season that has us longing for some kind of change… a breakthrough or a victory, we can tend to forget Who our security lies in.

We go to people; family or friends. We pour our heart out to them and hope for some kind of consolation or comfort from them. We may even hope that they will help us in some way, either with suggestions or even with the answer to our problems.

But we too often forget that God is our source. He alone can rescue us from the crashing waves and stormy seas.

There is nowhere we can go and be away from His spirit and His strong hands, which hold us. He is always there, even when we might not think He is.

So rest in knowing this. Speak to your storm and tell the wind and waves to be still, in the name of Jesus.

His right hand shall hold you.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-1-17

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

We are taught many things growing up. Learning and growing is what it is all about. We grow and become adults, and then we leave home.

Many times we think “oh boy, we are out on our own, and now we have to fend for ourselves.” Yes, we do have to make a living. That’s all part of the plan.

The best part though, is that although we may be on our own in some ways, if we know Christ and we put our trust in Him, He will direct our paths.

So, even though we may be “on our own”, He is right with us. If we don’t understand some things that are going on, He is right there to help bring clarity.

If we don’t know what steps to take that would be good for us, He is right there to show us.

If we’ve messed up and we need to fix some things, He is there to give us a helping hand.

What a wonderful Lord He is! Trust and acknowledge Him. He will direct our paths.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-10-17

Ephesians 3:20-21 (NKJV) 20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

We can face some pretty intimidating things during our lifetime. Some things can seem downright impossible to overcome.

But we serve a God who is able to do exceedingly abundantly more than we can ask or think!

We might look at a situation and think that it is completely impossible. Our heads might never be able to wrap around how we could ever conquer it. But that doesn’t bother or hinder God!

Man might tell us something is impossible. But we need to remember that man never, ever has the final answer. God does!

Luke 18:27 (NKJV) 27 But He said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”

So if you’re facing what seem like impossible odds today, don’t look around. Look up. Look to the One who holds everything in His hands. And give it to Him right here, right now.

And give Him the glory and honor forever.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-31-17

James 4:10 (NKJV) 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

Life, and the things that happen in it, sure has a way of bringing us to our knees. Sometimes it can cause us to do the opposite and harden up, run away and try to fix things on our own.

Have we ever gotten mad at God for something that He didn’t do for us? Maybe we prayed for a love one, or we prayed for a job. Maybe we even prayed that He would help us to pass a test or get good grades. Maybe we asked Him to save our marriage.

Yet, in all that praying, we still lost that loved one. We still failed that test, or our grades weren’t good enough to get us into that school we were so looking forward to going to. Or in all that praying, our marriage or relationship failed.

It didn’t seem like it changed anything at all. In return, it made us doubt God and turn from Him and never want to trust Him or have anything to do with Him again. We walked away and shut the door on Him for life.

These types of situations have happened to many people. We may never know why it seemed like God did not help us or show up for us when we felt like we needed Him.

The thing we have to remember is that when all was said and done, was He there to help pick up the pieces? Was He there to hold us? Was He there to open another door for us, or help us to get something precious out of what we were going through?

If we walk away from Him, we will never know. We will never see what He will do for us. If we walk away, there will be no opportunity for Him to walk us through the difficult times and allow us to see for ourselves how only He can turn things around.

Today, if we have turned away from God because of some things we have been through, and we feel He wasn’t there for us when we needed Him most, won’t we give Him a chance to show up? Will we stop and humbly come back to Him and tell Him how we feel and then let Him lift us up?

He does not fail us, ever. Give Him a chance.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-13-16

Psalm 46:10 (NKJV) 10 Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!

Are you tired today? Be still and know that He is God.

Are you mourning a loss? Be still and know that He is God.

Are you feeling alone and left out? Be still and know that He is God.

Do you feel like you just can’t go on any longer? Be still and know that He is God.

Are you celebrating a victory in your life? Be still and know that He is God.

It doesn’t matter what season of our life we’re in right now. It doesn’t matter if we’re at the top of the mountain or in the deepest valley.

It doesn’t matter if we’re laying flat on our back, looking up, or if we’re soaring with our hands raised high.

The most important thing we can do is to be still and know that He is God.

When we celebrate, He should be the reason we’re celebrating. When we’re struggling, He needs to be the One we look to for strength, wisdom and understanding.

In all we do, our accomplishments will never mean anything until we sit still and know that He is God. Without Him we would all be nothing. But with Him we can do all things.

Philippians 4:13 (NKJV) 13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-20-16

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Trusting God can give us rest. Rest from planning and trying to figure things out based on our own knowledge and understanding.

Let us not confuse resting with being lazy and unproductive.

Trusting God and resting in that which He tells us to do is a very good thing and healthy for both the natural and the spiritual man.

When God says “trust ME”, we can have peace, knowing that He will work on our behalf and He will guide us in what we need to do on our end. We will stop dwelling on those things that we have NO control over. We will stop trying to force things to happen. We will be OK with letting God do what only He can do and wants to do for us.

God wants to do the impossible for us. He wants us to experience HIM in a personal way, by leading us through challenges and difficult times and teaching us to see things through more than just our natural eyes and natural understanding.

Will we trust Him?

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-3-16

Matthew 6:28-32 (NKJV) 28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

Hoarding. It’s something that most of us never think about. But what is it, and what are its implications in the life of a believer?

Hoard: to accumulate money, food, or the like, in a hidden or carefully guarded place for preservation, future use, etc.

Hoarding is contrary to God’s word. Why? Because it essentially, at its deepest root, shows a lack of trust in God’s ability to provide for us. Things that are hoarded are there, many times, “just in case”. Just in case God doesn’t supply our needs.

There is a delicate balance between hoarding and using our resources wisely or being responsible and diligent with our finances and physical resources. God does teach us to be diligent and responsible with what He blesses us with. But that doesn’t mean that we need to cling to and hold on to everything that we have.

We are to hold onto some of it. But we are to give some of it too. And it’s only when we learn to hear God’s voice and discern His instructions to us that we can properly handle the things we have.

And when we do that, when we start to let go of some of those precious things that we hold so dearly to, only then will we see God bless us again and again. Sharing our blessings with others opens the door for more blessings to flow into our lives.

So as God has blessed us with things, whether it’s finances or other material possessions, it’s imperative that we learn, not just to hoard them and hold onto them, but to learn to share them with others who are in need.

We need to trust Him. We need to share when He says to share. We need to help those who are in need. And then we can watch as He replenishes the “supply closet” that we willingly shared with others who He led us to share it with.

Be wise with our resources. Hold when He says when to hold. And share when He says to share.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-14-16

Isaiah 12:2 (NKJV) 2 Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; ‘For Yah, the Lord, is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation.’”

I will trust and not be afraid!

Trust can be very fragile sometimes. It takes time to build trust in someone or something. And sometimes things can happen that causes our trust to falter.

With God, though, we don’t ever have to worry about Him breaking our trust. He is trustworthy in absolutely everything. He will never fail us or let us down.

There will be times when we might be disappointed in how something turns out, but that should never cause us to lose our trust in Him. We just have to know that no matter what happens in our lives, we are secure in Him. And when tough times do come, He will walk us through them.

Many of us say we trust Him but when things get tough or hard to understand, we turn our backs and rely on our own understanding. This can happen to just about anyone, regardless of our spiritual maturity. But as we grow in Christ, the likelihood of it happening decreases as we learn to see things through different eyes and from a different perspective.

Our trust in Him should never be based on the conditions or circumstances in our lives. Many times, we are where we are due to choices we’ve made at some point. And even if things befall us that we think we had no fault in, we still need to keep our trust in Him strong and not let doubts creep in and steal our faith.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

So no matter what comes along, keep trusting Him. Don’t let the enemy of your soul convince you otherwise.
