Tag: What the Bible says about the armor of God

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-13-24

Ephesians 6:13 (NKJV) 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

As believers, we have to know we are in a battle. And it’s important to put on our protective gear for such times.

God’s armor will keep us standing when we are faced with trials that will try to break us.

This is just a little reminder to make sure we are fully equipped.

Ephesians 6:14 (NKJV) 14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness.

This breastplate of righteousness does not come by anything we have done, but was gifted to us through His unconditional love.

He chose us and died for our sins on that cross. We are His children if we believe He is Who He says He is; Jesus Christ, God’s only Son.

Ephesians 6:15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

Learn the Word of God and walk in it daily, obeying Him with everything in us.

Ephesians 6:16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

Don’t let the devil cause us to doubt. Have faith in God. He will stop the enemy in his tracks.

Ephesians 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;

Keep our mind protected by renewing it through His word and staying open to the Holy Spirit, He will bring to remembrance the things we need in the hour that we need them.

Ephesians 6:18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—

Our prayers are powerful. If the devil can get us to stop praying, things will get worse.

If we are in a situation and we feel like our hands are tied, it’s not over. Our hearts will always be free to pray in the Holy Spirit. He knows exactly what needs to be done.

Be alert and ready at all times, giving God thanks, for He has already gone before us and won this battle. We just have to trust Him.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-17-23

Ephesians 6:10 (NKJV) 10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Paul admonishes (instructs) us to put on the whole armor of God in order to stand against the devil (and the forces of hell), against invisible physical powers who have various levels of authority in their spheres of activity.

Putting on the whole armor of God is what keeps us strong, allowing us to hold our battle stance against all the unseen evil structure.

Our combat is against spiritual forces, not men.

God has given us great protection and resources to meet our enemy.

It’s a necessity for all believers to gird our waist with truth; we need to know God’s word inside and out.

We also need to put on the breastplate of righteousness; this righteousness has been imparted to us through salvation.

2 Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV) 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

The shield of faith is also part of our armor.

This shield will protect us from the fiery darts that come to personally assault us; they will be quenched as we stand strong in our faith.

We also need the helmet of salvation; salvation brings forgiveness and redemption from our sins through Christ.

It’s important to note that the belt, the shield, the breastplate and the helmet are all defensive pieces of our armor. They protect us from the onslaught of the enemy’s attacks.

The final piece of our armor is the sword of the Spirit, which is the only offensive piece.

Our sword is the word of God.

His word gives us the ability to attack the enemy in a way that will render his temptations and his attacks on us powerless.

Let us remember that His armor only protects us if we wear it.

It is His divine protection!

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-4-20

Ephesians 6:10-11 (NKJV) 10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

What is armor? Armor is used to protect the body during battle.

God says to put on the WHOLE armor, meaning we shouldn’t leave out one little part or piece of it. Because if we do, we can get badly hurt or even killed.

If we went into battle and we forgot our helmet, our head would get damaged. If we forgot our breast plate, our chest would get damaged or we would be killed. etc.

We need to have it all on to be fully protected while in battle.

If we forget to put on a piece of God’s armor, chances are we will get attacked in that area, for the enemy will spot that it is not protected. That lack of armor is his way in. He will aim for it and hope to bring destruction, and ultimately take us out.

Ephesians 6:14-16 (NKJV) 14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

When we get up each day, we need to know the truth and stand firm in it. We need to practice what’s right, in spite of what our flesh wants to do.

We need to be alert and ready at any time to share His love, while keeping our eyes and ears open to Him. Walking in the steps He has for us is essential to fighting off the fiery darts that come our way.

We will win if we are tight with God, the Armor is on and active in our lives.
