Philippians 4:19 (NKJV) 19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Have you ever noticed how we tend to look to man, or other natural sources as the one, or the thing, that supplies our needs?
Our employer. Our investments. Our clients. Our customers.
These are all sources of sustenance for most of us. We trade our time and efforts for money that they give us in exchange for the labors we render.
So, over time, we begin to look at them as the supplier of what we need. What we forget, though, is that it is the hand of God by which they do this.
It is easy for this to happen.
They are visible, tangible and present in our natural lives. We interact with them one on one most times. So, our minds tend to see them as the ones who supply our needs. It’s a natural tendency.
God is invisible. We can’t touch Him. We can’t see Him.
And if we aren’t taking the time to talk with Him and listen to Him (prayer), then we will live life not hearing Him.
So, our natural minds naturally tend to look beyond Him and forget that He is the One ordering our steps and setting everything in place so we can receive what we need from those people or entities whom we look to.
Let us not forget how important this is to understand.
He is our all in all. He is our source for everything that we need.
And in everything we do, let us remember that He will never forsake us.
Psalm 37:25 (NKJV) 25 I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread.
