Bible Verse of The Day – 3-2-18

Lamentations 3:22-23 (NKJV) 22 Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.

Yesterday is behind us. We can’t go back.

What we have already done is also behind us. We may have made some major blunders in the days behind us. Some of them may have cost us dearly. Some of them may have brought shame upon us, and maybe even upon our families.

But those things don’t have to define us.

Why? Because God’s mercies are new every morning.

Those transgressions that are behind us can be forgiven by our Father, if we just ask Him to do so. And when He forgives us, He removes them far from us.

How far? As far as the east is from the west. That’s a long way!

Psalm 103:12 (NKJV) 12 As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us.

Once God has forgiven us, we are free to move forward. And at that point, it’s up to us to make sure we don’t make the same mistakes again and again.

Even in that, God is faithful to lead us and guide us, showing us where to place our feet with each step we take.

It’s our job to follow where He leads us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-20-17

Lamentations 3:22-23 (NKJV) 22 Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.

Sometimes we do things that we know aren’t pleasing to God. They seem like small things or they may seem like big things. Either way, they make us feel pretty bad.

Sometimes we carry guilt and shame because of the things we’ve done. We walk around with this on our shoulders. And sometimes the weight of it can be pretty heavy, maybe even to the point of making us feel like we might collapse under it.

But here’s the deal. That thing that we did yesterday, last week or even last year? It’s not ours to carry. God wants us to give it to Him. He wants us to confess it, repent and then leave it behind.

Why? Because He is compassionate and merciful. Forgiveness is His to offer to those who simply ask with a sincere heart. And His forgiveness is forever.

Each morning as we rise up, we are given a new day, clean and pure, to walk out God’s steps for our lives. It’s like a bright, white, pure sheet of paper with nothing on it. So why should we spot it up with yesterday’s sins and sorrows?

Give your guilt and shame to Him today. Let His mercies wipe your sins away and make you spotless.

Today is a new day. And just as this is a new day for you, His mercies are new for you also.

He’s offering them to me and to you. Take Him up on His offer.

He is faithful.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-8-17

Luke 15:11-13 (NLT) 11 To illustrate the point further, Jesus told them this story: “A man had two sons. 12 The younger son told his father, ‘I want my share of your estate now before you die.’ So his father agreed to divide his wealth between his sons. 13 “A few days later this younger son packed all his belongings and moved to a distant land, and there he wasted all his money in wild living.

In the story above, the young man receives an inheritance from his father and he leaves with it soon after.

He takes his inheritance and does whatever he wants with it. Until it’s gone. There was nothing left.

He finds himself in a very bad situation and realized he did a dumb thing. He repents and wants to return home, remembering it was much better when he was home with his father. He wanted to make things right.

Some would say “It’s too late. You made your bed, now you have to lay in it. Oh well!”.

Thank God He is merciful and loving, and gives us chances to make things right. Amen.

Luke 15:22-24 (NKJV) 22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. 23 And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; 24 for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ And they began to be merry.

His father welcomed him back with open arms and celebrated his return. This doesn’t mean that we should just go and do whatever we want and think that there will be no consequences. There will always be some kind of consequences from our mistakes and poor choices. But it doesn’t mean that we can’t go back to where we left off, where things were right, and try to fix it.

Have we acted like the prodigal son? Have we taken the blessings of God, His inheritance to us, and spent it on wild living, knowing that what we were doing was not right?

It’s not too late for us to go back and make it right. He will welcome us with open arms. God wants to be with us. He wants us to acknowledge where we went wrong, and then repent and come home.

BIble Verse of The Day – 12-27-16

2 Corinthians 12:9 (NKJV) 9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

God’s grace is sufficient.

It doesn’t matter what we’re facing; the loss of a loved one, a financial crisis, a troubled relationship, sin in our own lives or anything else that we might come up against. His grace is sufficient.

Sufficient: enough to meet the needs of a situation

What are you dealing with today? What kind of situation are you facing that requires God’s grace in your life?

As we face those things that test us and show us our weaknesses, that is when we realize the need for God’s grace, and the fact that our weaknesses require His strength.

So don’t let your troubles wear you down or break you. They will if we let them. But it’s up to us to let God use those hard times to build us and strengthen our faith in Him.

And remember… no trial lasts forever. No season lasts a lifetime. Dark times come, but they also go. So hold fast to your faith and lean on Him. Joy is coming!

Psalm 30:5 (NKJV) 5 For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-30-16

Psalm 100:5 (NKJV) 5 For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.

Maybe you are having a hard week, or today is just not going very well for you. Maybe you feel like throwing in the towel and just giving up. Maybe these thoughts and words have already come out of your mouth or they are at the end of your tongue.

We want you to take every bit of strength in you and change what you are about to say or what you are thinking of doing.

Instead of saying, I give up, say, “For the LORD is GOOD!!”

You can try to run from your struggle today. Or You can walk away and come out of this battle better and stronger than ever before.

Your hardship, your pain, your tears can be turned into JOY when you follow Christ. When you have His favor. When you PRESS in and don’t give up.

Psalm 30:5 (NKJV) 5 For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.

God’s favor is for life. LIFE!

He has your back, for He is GOOD and JOY comes in the morning!

We are believing and praying things are going to change for you as you begin to step out and change the way you think and speak about it!

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-5-16

Psalm 119:64 (NKJV) 64 The earth, O Lord, is full of Your mercy; Teach me Your statutes.

God’s word is full of real life lessons. His statutes are written throughout it.

We took our lunch break down by the ocean yesterday. While enjoying the beautiful ocean, we were reminded of how God split the sea open for Moses and the Israelites so they could cross over when they came under attack by the Egyptian army.

Wow! What a lesson of deliverance.

Can you imagine seeing an army of people coming after you from a distance and all you see in front of you is the deep blue sea? I would have been so scared, not knowing what to do, with fear and anxiety rushing through my mind. What do we do GOD? We’re stuck. Our backs are up against a wall!

But Moses knew His God and cried out to Him and God told Him what to do.

Exodus 14:21 (NKJV) 21 Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided.

They were able to cross over to the other side on dry land!

Boy, they surely got to see a miraculous thing done right before their eyes. It’s just so incredible. How could anyone ever be the same after seeing that? After seeing God’s hand move in such a powerful way.

This is a lesson for us. God is showing us that He was there for Moses. He was there for the Israelites. And He will be there for us as well! He is faithful.

Are we feeling captured, with nowhere to turn, with the enemy breathing down our necks?

Follow His statutes. Hear what He is saying to us. Take His words and live them out. Make it personal. Claim His promises over your life today.

He will deliver us! His mercy and love for us is the same as it was for them.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-26-16

Hebrews 4:16 (NKJV) 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Yesterday we spoke about temptation and sin.

Today let’s take a look at God’s grace and mercy for us when we do stumble and sin.

When Jesus died on the cross, the veil of the temple was torn in two. This is one of the most significant things that happened on that day!

Why? Because the veil of the temple was a heavy divider between God and man. Gods spirit dwelt inside, behind that veil. Man couldn’t enter into that area unless he went through a very tough cleansing process.

And even then, some people who entered never made it out alive. Despite their cleansing process, they missed something or had sin in their life that wasn’t accounted for. And because of this, they died when they encountered God’s presence.

When that veil was torn, it meant that we now have open access to God, without fear of reprisal or death, because the blood of Jesus has made us righteous in His sight.

This is a big deal!!

So, now if we sin, we don’t have to worry about God striking us dead. Because His mercy and grace are readily available to us just by approaching Him and asking for them.

If we’ve messed up, we need not shrink back and hide. God has made it possible for us to approach Him boldly and seek His grace and mercy!

So don’t wait! Go to Him! Approach His throne boldly!

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-13-16

Psalm 103:11-12 (NKJV) 11 For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; 12 As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us.

God’s mercy is ready and waiting for us. We just have to reach out and take it.

His word says that His mercy is great toward those who fear Him. Are we in need of His mercy today? Have we made bad choices and fallen to temptation?

Have we made a mess of some things and we want to get back on track?

God is able. And He is willing. We just need to humble ourselves and go to Him in reverence and a holy fear.

This doesn’t mean we need to fear going to Him. It means we need to revere Him. We need to hold Him up high and understand that He is God and He is far above us. His ways are higher than our ways. His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. He is holy and without sin or darkness.

1 John 1:5 (NKJV) 5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.

And as we go to Him in holy fear, He has mercy on us and our sins will be removed from us as far as the east is from the west!

They can no longer torment us or taunt us. As we confess to Him, they are wiped out and gone forever.

1 John 1:9 (NKJV) 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Today is the day to let it go and give it to God once and for all. Put it behind you and start fresh.

And remember that the enemy has no power over you except what you give him!

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-4-16

Psalm 94:18 (NKJV) 18 If I say, “My foot slips,” Your mercy, O Lord, will hold me up.

One day many years ago, I was getting ready to leave my house to run some errands. It was a day I had my grandson with me. He was only a little guy at this time, only about a year old.

It was a cold day, so I bundled him up in his heavy coat and warm hat, and put his hood up.

I stepped outside my door with him in my arms and I started walking to my car. Before I knew it, I was on the ground. I had slipped on black ice and down I went, baby and all.

When I hit the ground I heard no crying. There was no noise at all. All I saw was my grandson in my arms looking up at me. I panicked and started to yell for my husband. It was my yelling that scared the little guy, and of course he started to cry.

My husband came quickly and carried him in the house. I was so upset, thinking he had been hurt, only to find out there was not a scratch, bump or bruise on him. He was laughing with Granddaddy as he checked him over.

My arms were wrapped around him so tightly, that when we hit the ground we hit arms first, and he was protected.

Yes, it was shocking, because it all happened so suddenly. But we were both fine. Praise be to God!

This reminds me of how God’s mercy is like my arms around that child, so tightly, holding him up so he wouldn’t get hurt or hit hard.

Let us give Him praise today for His precious arms of “Mercy” holding us up from time to time!! Amen.

Psalm 103:8 (NKJV) 8 The Lord is merciful and gracious, Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy.
