Tag: What the Bible says about God’s faithfulness

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-31-20

1 Samuel 17:37 (NKJV) 37 Moreover David said, “The Lord, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.”

What is very important to notice here is that David did not see any difference in the size or fierceness of the enemy he faced. He knew that the Lord would deliver him, no matter what, whether it was the paw of a lion, the paw of a bear, or a huge giant.

They all looked the same in his eyes. They were going down, with the Lord on His side!

What paw or giant do we face today? A financial crisis, a marriage crisis, a rebellious child, an addiction to lust or drugs, etc.? Do we face health problems, or are we maybe dealing with bullies?

The Lord will deliver us from the thing that stands in front of us as we put our trust in Him and we don’t back down.

David saw what God could do, and He knew there wasn’t anything that He couldn’t deliver him from.

Remember the things God has delivered us from, and don’t think He won’t do it again.

He doesn’t just deliver us once and tell us we’ve reached our quota. No. God is faithful whenever we call His name.

Psalm 34:17 (NKJV) 17 The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-16-20

2 Chronicles 24:18-20 (NKJV) 18 Therefore they left the house of the Lord God of their fathers, and served wooden images and idols; and wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem because of their trespass. 19 Yet He sent prophets to them, to bring them back to the Lord; and they testified against them, but they would not listen. 20 Then the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest, who stood above the people, and said to them, “Thus says God: ‘Why do you transgress the commandments of the Lord, so that you cannot prosper? Because you have forsaken the Lord, He also has forsaken you.’ ”

There is an amazing, important lesson for all of us to learn from these verses.

Judah and Israel had abandoned God in favor of idols; false gods. Because of this, wrath had come upon both nations.

God did His part to try to steer the people back to Him, but they failed to heed His promptings and warnings. And because they had forsaken Him, He forsook them. He left them to their own devices.

If we look closely at this, there are many small details that make this much more meaningful than if we just breeze through it.

In verse 19, the word says that He sent prophets to them, to bring them back to the Lord. But they would not listen.

Verse 20 tells us that the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah. “Came upon him” literally means “clothed him”. The Spirit of God literally clothed the man of God and equipped him to speak to them with God’s authority.

But do you know what they did? Not only did they reject him, they stoned him to death.

This is heartbreaking. God is always faithful to give us time to repent. He is merciful… for a season. And then His mercy gets pulled back.

And so it was in this situation. After a period of time, God sent a small army from Syria to defeat them, even though their own army was large and powerful. Why? Because “they had forsaken the Lord God of their fathers”.

God will seldom let His people go very long without confronting their sin. He doesn’t do this to punish us, but to remind us and nudge us to get back on track.

Most times He will give us many chances to make the necessary corrections. Then, if we fail to heed His promptings, He will bring correction to us Himself, in whatever way He sees fit.

Because of this, it’s important that we pay attention to the promptings of the Holy Spirit when he convicts us of our sin.

God wants the very best for us, so He will let us know when we’re getting off track or dabbling in things that are harmful or that dishonor Him.

All we need to do is pay attention and follow instructions. Doing so will help keep our relationship with Him strong, as well as preventing us from having to be dealt with on God’s terms, as the Israelites had happen to them so many times.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-11-20

Psalm 138:8 (NKJV) 8 The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands.

God will fulfill His purpose in us if we continue in Him on a daily basis.

Through prayer and His word, He will guide our path, show us what steps to take, and reveal the timing of it all.

That’s not saying we will not face things in this walk with Him. We will still have to deal with everyday situations, family struggles, financial problems, changes in our own situation and dealing with personalities in people that conflict with us.

God will help us to do all this, He will guide us through whatever we face at different times.

Some things may take a little longer to come through, while other things we may see results right away.

The work of His hand is on the life of a believer as we trust Him fully and obey His leading.

Hold dear the things He has personally spoken to us about.

Receive and believe what God has shown us through prayer and His word. He is faithful!

We are truly blessed with His most excellent Spirit within us.

God loves us more than we could ever imagine!

Let Him take our concerns and work them out according to His ways, as we continue to seek Him. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-1-20

Philippians 1:6 (NKJV) 6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;

As believers, we are a work in progress.

Each one of us is in a different place in our walk with God. Where we are depends on many different things; our spiritual age, our spiritual maturity, our commitment to our walk with God, our willingness to change and grow, etc.

Sometimes there are outside factors that can impact us, but more often than not, where we are depends largely on what we do or don’t do.

Thankfully, though, even if we’re not the most faithful or diligent in our relationship with God, He never wavers and is never at fault for our shortcomings.

Even better, take a look once more at what the scripture above says; “He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ”.

That means that He sticks with us for the duration, never leaving us, even until the day of Jesus Christ, when He returns for His people.

His grace is like the special glue that fills in the gaps that we create, giving us every opportunity to keep pursuing Him and building our relationship with Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – The Coronavirus – What is God Doing?

Greetings!

We trust that you are safe and healthy in the midst of the current global situation.

Yesterday we did something a little different. We streamed a live video on Facebook regarding the current global situation with the Coronavirus.

We felt that God had shared some insights with us on this and we wanted to share them with everyone, and streaming it live was the quickest, easiest way to accomplish that.

We also recorded the video as it was streaming, and today we uploaded it to our YouTube channel, so people outside of Facebook can also watch it.

Part of this video was Pastor Ellie sharing a prophetic word that she received back in 2012!

We hope you’ll take some time and watch this, and that it will bring some understanding, some peace and some hope for you.

Please click here to watch the video now, or scroll down to watch it below.

Feel free to let us know if you have any questions or comments at all.

Sincerely,

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-21-19

Lamentations 3:23 (NKJV) 23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.

Have you ever prayed someone through a serious situation, and when all is said and done, and they get the victory, they give praise to themselves for being strong, or they gloat because they made it through?

Can we imagine how God must feel? He moved things around for us, opened doors for us, made preparations, and took the time to personally touch our situation with His miraculous Hand. And when the time comes to glorify Him, to give Him thanks, and to lift up His mighty name, instead, we turn it around and make it look like it was our bravery that got us through.

We have got to give credit to the One who deserves it. We have got to give thanks to the One who has made it possible. He is the One that deserves our praise.

Great is His faithfulness! Amen.

He is always there for us. He is listening, waiting and wanting to help us. He knows our very situation and is willing to carry us through.

Give Him praise today. Thank Him and know that He is the One that will bring us to the finish line. Know that we can do nothing without Him. It’s His faithfulness!

John 15:5 (NKJV) 5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

Let us abide in Him, giving Him the glory for the work done in and through us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-10-19

Luke 12:6-7 (NKJV) 6 “Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God. 7 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

God does not forget. We are all very important to Him.

He knows the number of hairs on our very head. And He knows our heart, whether we are happy, sad, disappointed or in a state of depression. He knows if we are fretting or if we are trusting.

We are the only ones that can choose our course. God loves us and is there for us every second, but we choose whether or not to let Him really help us.

He will complete the work that needs to be done, if we let Him go before us.

He will win the battle with us, if we let Him teach us how to walk in His wisdom and discernment.

He will sustain us if we heed His voice and promptings.

We are more valuable to Him than we know. Let Him go before us and win this battle that torments us day and night.

Psalm 55:22 (NKJV) 22 Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-21-19

Isaiah 43:2 (NKJV) 2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.

God is true. His promises never fail.

Sometimes we may face things that cause us to question Him. Sometimes those things can be very difficult. Some can even change our lives forever, leaving scars that time seemingly can’t erase.

Life has a way of rising up in our faces from time to time, presenting challenges to us on varying levels.

As we face the things that are hard, it’s important that we don’t point a finger at God, blaming Him for them. God is not to blame. God does not bring evil. He only brings good.

James 1:17 (NKJV) 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

God brings only light to the world, and to our lives.

1 John 1:5 (NKJV)5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.

Life won’t always be easy. God hasn’t promised us that we will be free of trials. Despite being a child of God, we will still face difficulties at times.

The important thing for us to remember is that when we face those difficult times, He will be there to lead us through them, bringing us out on the other side.

No, it won’t always be easy. And no, it won’t be pleasant.

But one thing is for sure; He will be there, guiding us through each and every step.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-20-19

1 Chronicles 16:25 (NKJV) 25 For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised; He is also to be feared above all gods.

Today, as I write this devotional, I ponder on my life and how through it all God has been so very good.

He has saved me from a lot of things; things that I thought would be OK to step out in, but obviously weren’t good for me.

He has intervened at times when I thought there didn’t need to be any intervention or I wasn’t aware of any danger.

He has walked me through some tough days, and not just me, but people I love and care about. He has been there all along.

It’s funny how you can look back and see the hand of God in our lives so many times. He is so gentle, so loving and so subtle, we can almost miss it if we don’t pay close attention.

Sometimes it takes us slowing our lives down so we can take the time to reflect on God’s greatness.

He surely is great and greatly to be praised!! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-2-19

1 Peter 3:12 (NKJV) 12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their prayers; But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”

How very encouraging! His eyes are on the righteous and His ears are open to their prayers.

Who are the righteous?

2 Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV) 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

If we are without Christ, on our own, God sees us as sinners. But, through Christ we become the righteousness of God. As soon as we accept Jesus as our Lord, we step out of our old self and become a new creation.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV) 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

NEW… praises be to God!

Be comforted today. This is a promise to us. If we are in some kind of trouble, God knows. His very eyes see it and He’s listening to our prayers.

Doesn’t this just make you want to stand up and shout? Someone as great as our Lord has our back.

Don’t let the lies of the enemy, his little scare tactics, try and keep us walking around worried and trembling anymore. We have Jehovah Jireh watching and listening. We just have to keep talking, keep believing and keep walking! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-22-19

Philippians 4:19 (NKJV) 19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

There are two standards by which everything is viewed and judged; Man’s standard, and God’s standard.

Philippians 4:19 says that our God shall supply all our needs according to His riches in glory. Isn’t it great to know that He will supply for us based on His riches in glory, and not based on man’s riches?

Now, this is where we need to get understanding, so we don’t begin applying man’s thoughts to this verse.

First, God owns everything. So, there is never any lack on His end. He is abundantly sufficient in everything, leaving us with no possibilities of Him not being able to supply what we need.

Second, God’s riches are not the same as man’s riches. As we look at everything through natural eyes, we may immediately think of wealth in the natural sense when we think of God’s abundance.

And while it is true that God may supply us with material blessings, we need to carefully consider the fact that material wealth is not the only resource God has for us. In fact, there may be times when He provides for us in ways other than with material wealth.

God knows what we need, vs. what we want.

Sometimes we think we need material blessings when, in reality, we need God’s blessings. God’s blessings can be very diverse!

During times of famine, we definitely need the things necessary to sustain us. But we will many times forget that we also need God’s love, encouragement, hope and joy in order to persevere and press through the battle to victory.

If God only supplied us with material things during those times, how miserable might we end up?

Sure, our bills might be paid, and we would have food and shelter. But if we lack understanding, joy, gratitude and so many other attributes, we would be in sorry shape.

Thank you, God, for supplying all our needs according to Your riches in glory, not according to man’s.
