Tag: What the Bible says about being free indeed

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-7-24

John 8:36 (NKJV) 36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

Many believers struggle with overcoming things that they wrestled with prior to becoming a child of God, or things that they have become involved in since becoming a believer.

The types of things that present struggles can vary greatly.

Some are habits. Some are things that the individual may not have recognized as being a sin. Other things might be full-blown addictions that bloomed from indulgence in a particular sin.

But no matter the struggle, there is one thing I know for certain; the blood of Christ has the power to set them free from ALL these things.

Now, I know that statement may not be well received by some. Many will balk at the idea that an addicted person can have the chains of their addiction smashed by putting their faith in Jesus Christ.

But it is true, nonetheless.

God is not bound by what we perceive or believe to be true. He is bound by truth; His truth. He is not a man that He should lie (Numbers 23:19).

Most of the struggles that we wrestle with perpetually remain struggles because we fail to surrender to God wholly or to truly recognize the sovereignty of God in its fullness.

Yes, we may believe that God created everything. We may believe that He offered up His Son for the redemption of humankind.

But we fail to recognize and believe on a personal level that He can set us free from the things that bind us. And so, we struggle with them for years on end, defeated in our battles against them.

But it does not have to be this way.

A blind man was given his sight by Jesus spitting in the dirt, making mud, and applying it to the man’s eyes. Mud made from spit does not sound attractive, does it?

But that man was healed and given his sight!

We need to embrace God’s ways, even if they are well outside of what we might envision.

This includes accepting and embracing the fact that God can truly set us free from something that has plagued us for years; one hundred percent free.

Freedom given by God is not a partial proposal. It is not momentary freedom that is given for a few weeks, a few months, or a few years. It is complete freedom!

Will we recognize it? Will we surrender to Him wholly? Will we give our struggles to Him completely, leaving them behind for good?

It is truly up to us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-12-24

John 8:36 (NKJV) 36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

This is a reminder for you today that Jesus came to set us free.

And there is nothing too big for Him to free us from.

There are no chains too strong for Him to break.

There is no addiction too powerful for Him to deliver us from.

There is no sickness that He cannot heal.

There is no situation too big or too terrible for Him to overcome.

There is no sin too terrible for Him to redeem us from.

He walked on water. He spoke and the winds and waves ceased.

He gave sight to the blind, hearing to the deaf, and speech to the mute.

He raised the dead. He healed the lepers. He set the demon-possessed free.

He is no different today. He never changes.

He is still in the business of setting people free!

Whatever you may be facing right now, it is never too big for our God.

Reach out in faith. Trust Him with your dilemma, your addiction, your sickness, or your broken heart.

Give it to Him in complete submission and surrender.

Let Him take it from you, in the mighty name of Jesus.

Lay it at His feet and walk away free, by the power of His name and the blood that he shed for you and for me.

Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-3-18

John 8:36 (NKJV) 36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

True freedom in Christ is something that most of us have a hard time comprehending and walking out in our lives.

It’s a hard thing for us to grasp, being free… truly free.

Freedom has many different facets. It probably means different things to different people. But no matter what it might mean to you or someone else, Jesus wants us to walk in freedom each and every day.

To most people, when we think of freedom in Christ, we think of the fact that our faith in Jesus has set us free from eternal separation from God.

While that’s true, here’s what freedom really means in a deeper sense.

Freedom from death, with new life in Christ. Freedom from condemnation with God’s forgiveness. Freedom from guilt, with God’s mercy. Freedom from worrying, with God’s provision. Freedom from shame, with God’s grace. Freedom from sadness and depression, with God’s joy.

And there are so many other ways that God sets us free in Christ. But it’s important that we understand that freedom is not limited just to being forgiven for our sins. Freedom encompasses every aspect of our lives if we let it.

It’s up to us to let God teach us and show us how to live in this incredible freedom. Because if we don’t let Him teach us, we live in ignorance, carrying burdens that He never intended for us to carry.

Matthew 11:29-30 (NKJV) 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
