Bible Verse of The Day – 7-27-12

(Luke 18:17 NKJV)  “Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.”

Childlike faith; what is it? What does it mean to receive the kingdom of God as a little child?

Think about little children and how they trust their parents. I remember when my girls were little. They would come running and say “daddy, catch me!”. And they would jump, knowing that I would catch them, regardless of whether they were jumping up into my arms or of they were up on their bed or somewhere else a little higher than the ground.

They just knew I would catch them. They never doubted it.

That is childlike faith. That is what God wants us to have in Him. He wants us to trust Him and receive His kingdom in our lives as little children, knowing beyond any doubt that He has everything under control and He will catch us.

We need to let God challenge our intellect and teach us that sometimes things just don’t happen the way we expect them to. Sometimes we just plain can’t figure everything out, but God is still in control.

We dare you to run and jump into our Daddy’s arms today, knowing that He will surely catch you.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-23-12

(Psa 116:1-2 NKJV)  I love the LORD, because He has heard My voice and my supplications. {2} Because He has inclined His ear to me, Therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live.

God is here. He is with us day and night. Look to Him for the answers to your problems.

If you’re in trouble today and you need an answer, go to God. If you need a breakthrough,  go to God. He may direct you to someone else or direct someone else to you to help you, but go to Him first and let Him be the one to lead. Let Him be the one to open the door.

Sometimes we have good intentions when it comes to fixing our own problems. We think that if we got ourselves into the mess, then we need to clean it up.

Well, there may be things we’ll need to do to help clean up, but when God directs us they may be things we would never have thought of doing.

Trust Him and give Him the first call.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-18-12

(Dan 3:26 NKJV)  Then Nebuchadnezzar went near the mouth of the burning fiery furnace and spoke, saying, “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, servants of the Most High God, come out, and come here.” Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego came from the midst of the fire.

These 3 men were thrown into a fiery furnace for not bowing to Nebuchadnezzar’s gods or worshipping the golden image that he made. They took a strong stand and did not give in…not even to death.

Are you standing strong today and feeling the heat because of it? Just as God delivered Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, He will surely deliver you.

In the next verse, it says it all (Dan 3:27 NKJV)  the hair of their head was not singed nor were their garments affected, and the smell of fire was not on them.

Wow! Talk about a miracle… nobody could deny God’s magnificent power. Praise be to God, for He is faithful!!

You’re coming out of that fire and you too will be free from any harm!! In Jesus Name! Amen.

Stand strong, and don’t give in to the pressure.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-10-12

(Psa 62:6 NKJV)  He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved.

No matter what comes our way, God is our rock.

We face many things in this life and some of them can be pretty difficult, but God will never forsake us.

In those times when it feels like we’re completely alone, He is there.

In those times when we feel like we can’t go on for one more day, He gives us strength.

When we feel like we have been abandoned by everyone we held dear, He is our Father and He holds out His arms to comfort us.

No matter what comes against us, if we trust in Him, we shall not be moved!

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-9-12

(Jer 1:8 NKJV)  Do not be afraid of their faces, For I am with you to deliver you,” says the LORD.

Taking a stand and saying the things that need to be said takes courage and the Holy Spirit to Help. I can testify that there are times, right before I have to say something that I know needs to be said, I get very uncomfortable and even shaky all over. I shake whether it is one person, ten or 200 hundred people; it doesn’t matter.

I struggle at times speaking up and this is an area in my life where I really need prayer and help. I love to bring good news to people and love to make people smile, so when it comes down to saying something that I know is not going to make them smile, everything in me fights it.

I have learned that making people smile is good. But helping people to grow and become all that God wants them to be is better!

I can assure you that there will be times when we all may have to say or do something we are not comfortable with. Remember this verse and hold it dear to your heart when that time comes, for this is a promise.

God will deliver you!!

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-7-12

(Exo 4:15 NKJV)  “Now you shall speak to him and put the words in his mouth. And I will be with your mouth and with his mouth, and I will teach you what you shall do.

When God spoke to Moses and told him what He needed him to do, Moses hesitated and told God He had the wrong man for the job.

Despite His anger against Moses, God made a way for Moses to carry through and get the job done, using his brother Aaron.

Most importantly, though, God taught Moses what he needed to do.

As we let God lead us, if we’re open and we listen to Him, He will teach us what to do and how to do it. We don’t need to fear. We just need to trust!

So listen for God’s voice, heed what He tells you and then trust Him to tell you how to do it.

With God in control, we can’t go wrong.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-5-12

(Exo 4:10 NKJV)  Then Moses said to the LORD, “O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.”

I remember several years ago sharing a message on a Sunday morning entitled “You’re Hired”.

God had shown me how He uses us in the most unlikely ways and the thing that we were least prepared to do in the natural was the “job” that He would hire us for.

Why? Because then He gets the glory, not us. When we accomplish something that we’re not naturally prepared for, there’s no way we can take the credit for it. It all goes to God!

He also showed me that when we aren’t prepped for a certain task, we’re less likely to over-think it and mess it up, as long as we trust Him. It’s trusting in Him that’s the key to accomplishing what He wants us to do.

The last thing Moses wanted was to have to face Pharaoh and demand that he let the Israelites go. He wasn’t fit. He had a speech problem and he wasn’t eloquent. But God used Him anyway and He got all of the glory.

Let God use you in ways that you’re not prepared for. It’s the way He likes it!

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-3-12

(John 4:42 NKJV)  Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.”

I was reading this story about a woman that Jesus was talking to. After she spoke with Him, she left and ran back to the people and told them that Jesus had told her everything about herself. They all believed her and ran out to meet Jesus and to see for themselves.

How many of us today are standing and holding on to someone else’s testimony when we share about Christ to others? Are we going after Him ourselves, getting our own testimony?

Let God move in your life today and give you a testimony of your own to share with others.

If you’re not saved, let Him save you. If you need deliverance from addictions, abuse, debt, or any sinful nature let Him do this for you today.

If you need to be loved by someone, let Him love you; let Him fill that emptiness in your heart today so that you too will have a testimony. Let Him become more real to you today and as you share with others, you will share your own experiences with them!!

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-26-12

(Mat 11:28 NKJV)  “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

As a follow-up to yesterday’s verse, we want to reassure everyone that God is in control.

Jesus told us to come to Him so He can give us rest! This adds to His words that we shared about worrying. He wants us to rest in Him!

This doesn’t mean that when something comes along that requires work on our part that we just ignore it and wait for God to clean up the mess for us. But it does mean that as we are obedient to Him and we do what He requires of us, we don’t need to “sweat the small stuff”.

God’s rest is different than what man thinks of when it comes to rest. God’s rest gives us peace, comfort and joy. God’s rest takes away our worries and replaces them with security in His word and His promises.

So take God’s promises and the words of Jesus and implement them in your life, trusting Him. Put them into practice and learn how to live in His peace. It takes some effort on our part initially, but the effort is more than worth it when we finally understand this truth and begin to walk it out.

We pray God’s peace over each and every one of you today, in the name of Jesus.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-25-12

(Mat 6:27 NKJV)  “Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

This is never an easy lesson to learn, but not a single one of us can add anything good to our lives by worrying.

Worrying will not change any situation. It will not add money to our budget. It will not save our lost friends, relatives, spouses, or children. It will not fix broken relationships, a broken down car or a leaky roof.

Here’s what worrying will do. It will add to our stress levels. It will increase our blood pressure. It will give us gray hair prematurely. It will cause us to gain weight. It will destroy our health, and so much more. Nothing about worrying is good for us.

Oh, and worrying shows us how much or how little we trust God with our situations and our problems.

We know that it’s not always easy not to worry. It comes very natural for many of us. But it is so much easier to trust God and let Him work things out for us. And don’t be fooled. Just because things aren’t turning out the way we thought they should, doesn’t mean that He isn’t in control.

Sometimes we just don’t see the big picture and what God is doing may look a little odd to us at first. But if we trust Him and let Him work it out, we will see that He knows what’s best for us and He knows what He’s doing!

Trust Him!

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-23-12

(Psa 118:8 NKJV)  It is better to trust in the LORD Than to put confidence in man.

Earlier this morning as I was praying I saw hands; Jesus’ hands. In those hands, I saw myself. He was holding me in His hands. This is what God wants for me and for you. If only we could allow Him to hold our lives in His hands, how much better off would we be right now?

We can sit in a chair without even looking at it, without even checking it out. We just know it’s there and we don’t even hesitate to sit down. But yet, we struggle with putting all of our life in God’s hand. Why is this?

Well, I can only speak from my own experience and the way I feel and see things in my own life. But I truly believe that there are things in me that I just have a hard time trusting God for, or letting Him take care of without me knowing. I’m being honest, straight from the heart here…why else would I not let God hold all of me in His hands.

Today let us make a decision; let us be honest with ourselves. Today, take a good look at why we will trust a chair to hold us, but not God.

God is Good, He is Faithful, He is Perfect and Great. Mighty is HE!

Trust HIM!!
