Bible Verse of The Day – 4-11-14

Hebrews 2:9 (NKJV) But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone.

Jesus tasted death for everyone.

Everyone would include you, and me. It would include the sinner and the saved, the lost and the found.

It would include the pastor and the drug addict, the prostitute and the choir director.

It would include the church janitor and the pimp, the drug lord and the worship leader.

There isn’t a single person who has ever lived, or who will ever live, who isn’t included in this.

He tasted death so that He could defeat death. He tasted death so that we might have life, forever.

Sometimes we all need to be reminded of these things, for our own sake, and for the sake of others around us or those we might come into contact with each day.

So remember, today, as you go through your daily routine, that He tasted death for every last one of us. And every last one of us owes Him our life.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-30-13

(Mark 16:6 NKJV)  But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him.

Jesus is risen!

Those three words are the hope upon which our salvation is based. Without the resurrection, the death of Jesus would have served no purpose whatsoever.

The fact that he rose from the grave on the third day broke the back of sin and death and gave us all a new chance at life, free from the burden of our sin and the sting of death.

As we move into the weekend, we urge you to be focused on what we are supposed to be celebrating… the resurrection of our Savior.

The world has so diluted this celebration that it has become almost benign and meaningless. Eggs, bunnies and other irrelevant things have replaced our Jesus and drawn the attention away from our hope and placed it on things… things that we are manipulated into buying because of clever marketing schemes.

Save your money and spend this weekend celebrating life… the life that was sacrificed for you and for me, to give us freedom.

Happy resurrection day to you and your loved ones.

He is risen indeed!

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-7-12

(Phil 2:8 NKJV)  And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.

Jesus was completely obedient, even unto death. He sacrificed His life for us.

You know when you’ve completed something and you look back and say, “That was so was hard, but it was well worth it.” Well, I cannot say that I was worth what Christ did for me.

What Jesus did for all of us was done from pure love.

If you are feeling unloved today, know that no matter what your up against, there is someone that loves you more than you think you’re worth.

You may not think you are worth much…but to Christ you are the love of His life!!

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-17-12

(Luke 23:35 NKJV)  And the people stood looking on. But even the rulers with them sneered, saying, “He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is the Christ, the chosen of God.”

Jesus came to save us from our sins. The rulers just didn’t get it and some people today just don’t get it.

It’s a simple message; so simple that even children can understand it. Jesus didn’t need to save Himself! Jesus was God in the flesh. It was His purpose all along to do what He did.

When they saw Christ on that cross they thought He was helpless and without power. They thought they had Him. But little did they know that what He was doing for the world, no other person could have done.

It took His righteous blood to wash away our sins. He did it for you and I, that we may have everlasting life with Him.

What an Awesome God we serve… He is so worthy of our praise today!

Your Daily Bible Verse – 1-13-12

(John 19:30 NKJV)  So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.

It is finished. These are the most crucial words spoken in human history.

These three words tell us that the work Jesus had come to do was complete. There was nothing further needed to secure our salvation.

His death on the cross paid the price for our sins 100%. Not 50%, 75% or even 99.9%. His shed blood, offered up for us, paid the price in full.

Anyone who tries to tell us that there is anything further needed to secure our salvation is diminishing the importance of His sacrifice and implying that what Jesus did was not good enough.

These are very serious words to consider. Don’t ever let anyone, anywhere, tell you that Jesus’ death wasn’t enough. If Jesus said it is finished, then it is finished.

Your Daily Bible Verse – 12-03-11

(John 3:16 NKJV)  “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

We often see this verse quoted when people are trying to tell others how much God loves us.

Today, though, I’d like to talk about the fact that He actually gave His son.

God could have given anything because He is God. He chose to give His son, His very best, to save us. He didn’t give His second best. He gave His best.

So today I’d like to encourage everyone by reminding you that God gave His very best for you when He gave Jesus. He loves you that much.

So in return, I want to urge you to give God your best! Give Him your all. Let Him have your whole heart and all of you!

He deserves it.

Your Daily Bible Verse – 11-9-11

(Mark 10:45 NKJV)  “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

Jesus came and walked this earth for one purpose; to pay the price for our sins and take our place on the cross.

While He was here He did so many incredible things. He healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, cast out demons, and the list could go on and on. These are all very awesome things that He did to set an example for us, but His ultimate purpose was to give Himself for us.

Have you ever really thought about this? Has it really ever hit home with you and caused you to have a revelation of what Jesus really did for us?

Think about it. Jesus left heaven and came to this earth as a man. He came here as a baby, living out the complete human experience and walking every single step of human life, so He could see and feel everything that we see and feel. We can never say that He doesn’t understand what we go through!

Ultimately, Jesus gave His life for us. He died the cruelest death at the hands of the Romans… a civilization that had perfected cruel deaths on mechanisms such as the cross. The Bible says He was beaten beyond recognition. I don’t believe that any of us can ever fully understand the extent of the physical punishment He took at the hands of the Roman soldiers, in our place.

If you have never embraced the death of Jesus and accepted the sacrifice that he made for you on the cross, consider it right now. Understand that everything He suffered, He suffered for you and for me.

Embrace Him today. Ask Him to forgive you for your sins and ask Him into your life. Forgiveness of your sins is the most incredible gift you will ever receive during your entire life.
