Bible Verse of The Day – 1-1-18

Psalm 46:10 (NKJV) 10 Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!

Be still and know.

What do these words mean, and how do we apply them to our lives in a practical way that will help us grow as a believer?

Well, being still doesn’t necessarily mean sitting and doing nothing. Many of us make that mistake. And doing so can cause our situation or our trial to be prolonged.

Sitting still in this verse means that we do as God has shown us or instructed us to do. But we do it without fear. And we do it knowing that God is on our side and he has secured us in our position with Him.

When we become afraid, we tend to make rash decisions and we lose the ability to trust God, because we begin to doubt Him.

Sitting still means not doubting Him, not becoming frantic and not becoming fearful as we do the things He has told us to do.

And if we haven’t heard Him tell us what to do, then we do only the things we know He has previously instructed us to do. God is faithful to lead us. We just need to be sure to follow Him.

Be still and know. Trust Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-25-17

Mark 9:24 (NKJV) 24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”

We may feel like our hardest times are upon us. We can’t see past what is in front of us. It seems huge and we are tired, drained and feeling like it is a lost battle.

So many times, we have prayed and asked God for the answer and we are discouraged because, to the natural eye, there appears to have been no change. We are still here and we are beginning to doubt God and His promises.

Look up today. Don’t spend one more moment looking at the situation in front of us. When we open our heart up and look to Him, when we call out to Him, He hears our voice. He is working things out.

It may not seem like anything is happening or changing, but behind the scenes God is on the move on our behalf.

So, what is our job?

We need to begin to thank Him, praise Him and rejoice because we know Who our Deliverer is! Wait quietly and hold fast to His hand. He will not fail us. He is there. He will make our path clear.

Psalm 34:17 (NKJV) 17 The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles.

Bible Verse of The Day – Learning to Wait on God – 10-15-17

Greetings to you in the beautiful name of Jesus!

Wait.

That’s a word that none of us likes to hear. But it’s a very important word in our walk with God. And it’s also the topic of our latest video.

Please click here to watch the video now.

Learning to wait on God and move in His timing is probably one of the hardest parts of following Him. But as we learn to wait, we begin to understand why He asks us to do so.

Please click here to watch the video now.

In today’s video, we break things down and shed some light on why it’s so critically important for us to learn this, and how it will help us live our lives fulfilled and satisfied as we walk out the things He sets before us.

Please click here to watch the video now.

We love you all dearly.

Sincerely in Christ,

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-27-17

Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV) 31 But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

Wait. It’s a word that none of us likes to hear!

We have become a world of people who never want to wait for anything. We want something, and we want it now.

Microwave ovens, drive-through windows at banks, restaurants and pharmacies means faster service. We have become accustomed to getting what we want, when we want it.

But not with God. God wants us to learn to wait on Him. Not just for the sake of waiting, but so that He can prepare us for what He’s doing or going to do.

We tend to make a lot of demands, even with God. We pray and ask Him for something. Or we might not even bother asking. Instead, we just tell Him or demand something of Him.

And He replies with silence. Or so it might seem to us. Is He really silent, or is He telling us to wait?

It’s important for us to know and remember that if we aren’t hearing from God, we shouldn’t make any moves, except for whatever the last thing was that He told us to do. Otherwise, we simply need to wait on Him to show us what’s next.

It’s funny that the verse above says that those who wait on the Lord won’t grow weary and they won’t faint.

Why? Because they won’t be wasting their time, efforts and energy pursuing things that God hasn’t told them to pursue. And they won’t be pursuing those things He has told them to pursue using methods and means that He hasn’t given to them to use.

So, it pays to wait on God, no matter how hard it might seem to our impatient, spoiled flesh.

Sometimes our flesh just needs to be told to sit still… and wait.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-7-17

Genesis 18:14 (NKJV) 14 Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.”

God spoke to Abraham and told him that his wife, Sarah, would have a son at the appointed time. Sarah had been barren for years, and now they were both old and well past the age of having children.

Do you feel like you are just chomping at the bit to get something done on your home, or save up to purchase a car to drive? Maybe you have been waiting for a spouse or for your children to change in their behavior.

Some people are waiting for things to change in their marriage. You are praying and believing God, but you feel like it will never change; it feels like it’s too late.

I want to remind you today of His appointed time and Whom your faith is in.

God is not going to leave you empty-handed. He will not turn His back on you, and He will not ignore you. Your prayer is not voided out.

He is God. He is forever and ever! He doesn’t forget what we have asked of Him, even if we haven’t seen any changes as of yet.

He won’t disappoint us. He won’t say “Oh, my dear child, you have asked me for so much. You met your quota and I cannot give you another thing”.

God is faithful. God is Good. He will remember, and you will get your answer as you stay steadfast in your faith. Sing praises to Him today, for in that appointed time He will meet your needs!

Psalm 57:7 (NKJV) 7 My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and give praise.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-16-16

James 1:3 (NKJV) 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.

Patience comes by first praying, asking, having faith and learning to wait; Having faith that the answer will come when and how God wants it to.

Waiting isn’t a bad thing. It’s not terrible. It is actually good for us! Waiting teaches us patience. It builds that muscle nice and strong.

You know how it feels when you build a muscle that hasn’t been worked in a while? Oh, it can hurt sometimes!

Well, waiting can feel the same way. However, just as that muscle hurts at first, it does start to feel better after time goes by and it gets stronger.

The same goes for waiting. It will get better and a little easier as time goes by and we learn to accept that it’s good for us, and we embrace it.

If we can’t wait for some things, how will we ever receive what God has for us? Or have we made up our minds that if it doesn’t come quickly enough, or in the time frame that we give it, we simply give up and move on to something else? Or do we just step in and take care of it ourselves?

Waiting teaches us patience, and how we wait is important as well.

Do we grumble and complain while waiting? We shouldn’t, even though it may feel good at times.

Are we sad and depressed, hanging our heads feeling sorry for ourselves? That’s not going to help or get God to move any quicker. Do we feel like nothing is going to make us happy until we get what we want, so others around us have to deal with our misery and bad attitude? It won’t work! If anything, it will prolong the wait.

While waiting, we should continue to do what we know to do. Not just in a ho hum way, simply going through the motions, but in a way that we are expecting and knowing that God is moving! We put everything into what we know to keep doing while we wait for God’s answer to come to pass.

We move with enthusiasm and excitement! We do it to the best of our ability, knowing that God is faithful no matter how long it takes.

This is called persevering; Pushing through and reaching that place where we will see His hand move on our behalf. Amen.

Romans 8:25 (NKJV) 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-14-16

Psalm 46:10 (NKJV) 10 Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!

Being still is one of the hardest things any of us will ever be told to do by God.

You would think that sitting still would be easy. You know; just sit there and don’t move. But that is really hard for most of us to do.

Why? Because our minds like to try to figure things out. We like to know what’s going to happen. We don’t like surprises or the unknown. We like to be in charge.

For some of us, we just have a hard time waiting. We know something is coming. But we don’t know how or when. And it makes us antsy; we can’t sit still. Some of it is due to excitement. Some of it is due to not knowing what else to do. So we just want to move… do something!

But this is where we’re tested. This is what can make or break some of us. This is where we learn how to listen and obey God’s voice, even when it might seem like we’re not hearing anything.

But it’s while we’re sitting still, not moving and not saying anything, that we really start to see God move and Hear Him speak. And it might not happen in the time frame that we’d like it to.

But that’s OK. Because we’re not the ones in charge. He is.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-8-16

Galatians 2:1 (NKJV) 2 Then after fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and also took Titus with me.

14 years!

In the verse above, Paul is telling about his travels and the works that he did to plant and grow churches in the early New Testament days.

Let’s look at one little part of this verse that has nothing to do with Paul’s topic of discussion; 14 years.

As Paul tells of his discussions with other leaders, he mentions various periods of time for his visits and his travels. Sometimes it’s days. Sometimes it’s months. Other times it’s years.

Most times you and I tend to read right through these numbers and pay little attention to them. But as I read this passage last night, it struck me that Paul specifically mentioned that 14 years had passed between his visits to Jerusalem. That’s a long time!

So what’s the point in this devotional? Why focus on 14 years and not on Paul’s topic of discussion?

Because that 14 years says a lot!

From the day of Paul’s encounter with Jesus and then his subsequent conversion, he spent his life traveling, teaching, overseeing and growing the body of Christ. He traveled for years on end and worked tirelessly, despite being beaten for preaching the gospel, shipwrecked multiple times and even stoned and left for dead. And all of this because of his faith!

But let’s look at ourselves. So many times we ask God for something. And then when a few weeks has passed, we throw our hands up in the air because we don’t have our answer yet. Or, better stated, we didn’t get the answer we were looking for in the time frame that we wanted it in.

But let’s remember Paul. He didn’t give up if he didn’t see the results he was looking for right away. He didn’t rely on his understanding of things based on carnal knowledge, intellect and human logic. He listened to the Holy Spirit and let God lead Him in everything.

So let that 14 years help us to put things into proper perspective. God moves in the timing that He does because He sees the big picture and has infinite understanding. While we have limited vision and finite understanding.

His understanding is always better than ours.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-21-16

Philippians 4:11 (NKJV) 11 Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content:

Comparing our lives with others can cause us to miss things God is doing for us in the state or place that we are currently in.

Maybe we want what others have more than what God has for us, even though He knows what is good for us.

For instance, if we hear of someone getting a pay raise at their job and we think, “boy we could sure use that right about now. Why do they get it and we are sitting here suffering?”. Or someone we know just gets a new house, or new car and we think, “I wish that was me. I’ve been praying for years and I’m still in the same place”.

This is comparing what we have to what someone else has and we have no idea what they went through to get to that point. Maybe they also prayed for years and went through some serious struggles to get there. Only God knows.

Everyone is in a different place. Some are in a season of feast and some are in a season of famine. And some are in between.

It can be very hard if we are in the time of famine and watching others going through the feast season. But know that as we remain content with our own lives and be thankful for what we do have and where we are at, our feast will come as well. Especially if we keep the right attitude.

God brings breakthrough and answered prayers at different times to each one of us, as we trust Him, believe and keep focused with the right attitude.

Hebrews 13:5 (NKJV) 5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

If we struggle with keeping the right attitude, ask God to help. It’s not an easy thing to go through on our own. Being content in some seasons takes work, effort and learning to look at things in a whole new light. It doesn’t necessarily come naturally.

It takes constant trust and accountability to God.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-15-16

Psalm 27:14 (NKJV) 14 Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!

Are we getting ready to make a huge move? If we can hold out and wait on the Lord, He will strengthen our hearts and help us to make the right choice.

Are we tired today, feeling like we are just done with it all? Are we stressed and worn out from waiting, and then waiting some more?

We may need to remind ourselves of all the other times that God was there for us and He answered our prayers.

This time is no different. It may be a little different situation, but He is the same God that helped us last time. And He will be there for us this time as well.

Be of good courage and wait!!

Don’t let anxiety take over and sweep us off our feet. It will distract us and take us down the wrong road, if we let it. Anxiety, or anxiousness, is a wearing out tactic the enemy loves to use on us all.

The Lord is faithful. Wait. Amen.
