Bible Verse of The Day – 12-31-22

Romans 4:20-21 (NKJV) 20 He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, 21 and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.

Sometimes God requires us to do hard things.

Sometimes those things seem downright impossible. But that’s because we look at them through human eyes, analyzing them by human standards.

Serving God fully requires that we change that, learning to look at things through God’s eyes, by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Abraham had to do this. He had to look beyond his age and Sarah’s dead womb to believe that God’s promise of a son would be fulfilled.

God is the God of the impossible. He is miraculous in His nature. He does what man says can’t be done in ways that man could never even conceive in his finite mind.

This is something that we all need to remember and hold close to our hearts.

It’s something that we need to be reminded of every now and then, so we don’t lose hope and let our faith in Him falter and grow dim.

On the contrary, as we face challenges and impossible situations, our faith needs to grow stronger, not become weak and impotent.

Abraham was 100 years old when Isaac was born. Sarah had not been able to conceive or bear a single child her entire life.

Despite this seemingly impossible situation, God made good on His promise. And Isaac was born.

This is our God; the God who makes the impossible more than possible by His mighty hand.

Matthew 19:26 (NKJV) 26 But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-5-19

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

When God comes into our hearts it may take time for us to realize that we are going to need to let some things go if we want to go deeper with Him.

Sometimes its people; people that may mean a great deal to us. It doesn’t necessarily mean we can’t see them at all. It may just mean we can’t spend as much time with them.

Many years ago, I was going through a season in my life, and in this season God asked me to pull away from some people I was very close to. I knew it meant change for me, because a great deal of my time was spent with them.

We had a routine, or specific days where we would do things together. It was so hard for me, but I humbly pulled back. And it brought me to tears at times because of their absence. But as time passed, it got easier and I could see why I had to do that.

It helped me to focus on other things and see God in a way I hadn’t known Him otherwise. Sometimes people can obscure our vision.

It’s part of our journey with Him. Our hearts will be at peace, but it doesn’t mean it won’t hurt from the things we need to do away with or let go of at times.

We will have to make choices that we may not fully understand at first. But as we follow and obey, later on we will see the importance of why He had us do certain things in a certain way.

Our journey with Him is learning to trust in Him in a whole new dimension.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-19-19

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

These verses have become my “words to live by”. Every day it becomes clearer and clearer to me what this really means.

It’s all part of the faith walk, that path that God puts you on that takes you somewhere you’ve never been and to a destination you have no idea about. You will only know that you have reached your destination when God says, “you’re there”.

Without the Holy Spirit, this walk will mess with your head. It will have you questioning yourself and the choices you make. It will have you asking yourself if what you chose was God or your emotions.

But then God speaks and tells you that it’s all OK. You’re not off. You’re not crazy, and you’re not weird. You’re on the right track.

As God has shown me this more and more, I have begun to notice it in action in the lives of people in the Bible.

Joseph, who became the “father” of Jesus, probably wrestled with this as Mary told him that she was pregnant, but still a virgin. And then again when God gave him a dream and told Him to flee to Egypt to protect his newborn Son from Herod.

Abraham, the “father of many nations”, dealt with this when he was told by God to leave and go “to a place I will show you”.

Genesis 12:1 (NKJV) 12 Now the Lord had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you.

Think about that. He had to leave his country, his family and his father’s house. But he did so not even knowing where he was supposed to end up.

And then he was promised a son when he was 100 years old. Now that’s a mind bender right there.

But Abraham obeyed, and God was faithful to keep His promises.

There’s something we need to be clear about; God didn’t stop doing these kinds of things when the people in the Bible died. He still does them today in the lives of people like you and me.

We just have to be alert and discerning to hear Him and then follow His leading.

Yes, it’s odd at first. Yes, it’s scary sometimes. And yes, people might think you’re crazy if you tell them about it.

But that doesn’t make it any less real. And it doesn’t make God any less faithful.

He still does these things! He still shows us and tells us things that require His spirit for us to get understanding and then make the right moves.

God still speaks. Are we listening?

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-9-19

James 4:10 (NKJV) 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

As I leaned over the hospital bed to hold my brother, I heard these words whispered in my ear, ”I’m so close to death right now”.

All I could say was, “I know”.

I held him in my arms, knowing that the alcoholism was either going to take him soon or there would come a miracle that would save his life. I reached a point in my heart where I said,” let it be, Lord. Let it be.”

A miracle came, and he is alive almost 3 years later.

At an earlier time, I was also at the hospital. This time I was with my dad, as he laid in the bed getting ready for heart surgery, at 80 years of age.

I thought, “my God, help me hold it together for my Mom and the rest of the family”. My knees were weak and I myself needed someone to lean on. God held me up and kept me strong.

Being an older man, it was a risky surgery. I didn’t know if he would come out alive or not. Only time would tell. Once again, I found myself saying within my heart, “let it be, Lord. Let it be”.

He came through that surgery. They gave him a short time to heal from it, and then came another surgery to repair a clogged carotid artery. A short time later, he had a third surgery to remove cancer. It was hitting all at once.

And he would say, “I’m weak as a kitten”. Again, my heart cried out, “Lord, let it be. Let it be.”

A miracle came. My Dad is alive today, at 84 years of age.

Yet another time, I was laying on my livingroom floor, bawling like a baby.

Our own situation at that time was so heavy on my heart. I didn’t know what to do or to think.

I looked to the left of me, and kneeling beside me was an image like Jesus. He had a gentle smile and I clearly heard, “It’s going to be alright. Everything is going to be alright”.

That was it. There was nothing telling me how it was going to be alright. No direction as to what to do. Nothing. That was it in a nutshell.

But that was my answer and I believed God. I held onto that word with my life. And today, more than 5 years later, I can say everything is ALRIGHT!

It was another miracle right before my eyes.

God is willing to do His part and move on our behalf. Are we willing to humble our hearts and reach that point where we can honestly say,” let it be, Lord. Let it be!”?

Let Him do what He knows is best, and be alright with His decision for us or for someone else that is in the battle of life or death, loss or gain, etc.

Let it be, Lord. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-8-19

Philippians 4:19 (NKJV) 19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

If there is one thing that I have learned over the years, it’s this; God is faithful.

It doesn’t matter what we face, God is always the One we can count on. He doesn’t get scared and run. He doesn’t get mad and turn His back. He doesn’t forget His promises.

So many of us spend so many hours of our lives worrying needlessly. Yes, at the time when we’re worrying, whatever we’re worrying about seems pretty big to us. And some of the things we worry about might actually be big.

But God is always bigger. Period.

Why is it so hard for us to remember that when we’re face to face with a trial, a dilemma or a “monster” of some kind that’s threatening to swallow us up?

That may seem like a rhetorical question. But it’s not. It’s an honest question that we all need to try to answer if we’re going to learn to let our faith and trust in God be tested and, ultimately, to grow.

When a need arises, no matter what kind of need it is, God is able. He can supply it. The notion or idea that He can’t isn’t even a possibility.

Let’s work hard at getting our heads and our hearts to grasp this awesome truth, and then live it out.

My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory, by Christ Jesus!

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-24-18

Philippians 4:7 (NKJV) 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Opening ourselves up to God and letting Him show us what He wants to do through us is the beginning of a new journey in life.

Things will happen differently than how we would normally expect them to. It won’t be the same. But, with the change there will also be a peace that surpasses all understanding.

That peace is what will carry us through and cause us to keep pressing in. Even though things are different now, and we don’t know what to expect at times, there is such a peace that only God can give us.

That peace will help us persevere in some of the scariest moments, taking steps we would never have expected to take in our lifetime.

We can all have such a personal and intimate journey with Him. We don’t have to have a special title. We don’t have to be a pastor, priest, evangelist, or missionary to walk with God like this. No.

Certain types of people would have us think differently, to keep us coming back and depending on them. But, God wants us to have full dependency on Him and Him alone; Full trust and leaning on Him.

Yes, sometimes God will guide us to a leader to help us find our way, or to get clarity or confirmation on something. But let Him guide us to who He wants to have help us. Even in that, we may find ourselves being led to someone we would have never expected, to give us the answers we need.

God has a life for each one of us to live. Go to Him the way you are now and line up with the direction He wants you to go. Begin taking one step at a time, in faith. He will unfold it as we obey each step.

God is limitless. Don’t let our heads hold us back. Don’t let what others say hold us back. Don’t let tradition, or having to do things a certain way all the time, hold us back.

Let God lead, and we follow. Go for it. Line up and trust Him with our lives! Amen.

Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV) 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-27-18

Psalm 73:28 (NKJV) 28 But it is good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, That I may declare all Your works.

Be encouraged today. Life is wonderful! We serve an awesome and mighty God who cares for us.

Things may not be perfect for us right now, but nothing stays the same forever. Change comes, new seasons come and breakthroughs happen. God is faithful!

We are praying for you, and we know that God will turn your situation around as you obey His voice in the decisions that need to be made.

If we walk closely with Him, our life will be blessed! For His yoke is easy and His burden is light. We will see His mighty hand working in ways we could never imagine. Just follow.

Matthew 11:30 (NKJV) 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

When we are walking with Him, there will be times when we want to jump out of bed in the morning, with great anticipation. Because we know that our Father in Heaven is taking care of every detail, and He will guide our steps to do whatever our part is in it. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-15-15

2 Samuel 22:4 (NKJV) 4 I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies.

Do we need saving today? Are we feeling trapped, don’t know which way to turn?

Are we feeling pressured to make a decision that we’re not ready to make?

Call upon the Lord today.

Don’t try to make this decision on our own. He will give us the answer and the peace to do what we need to do. He will save us from our enemy.

Trust and give Him praise! Amen.
