Bible Verse of The Day – 1-22-22

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

We are in unknown territory. We don’t know what to expect. Phew… it’s challenging. It is causing us to trust God in a whole new way.

As you may know, we recently moved. And it was a big move!

Most of our old routines are gone. We are starting from scratch, you could say.

Even where I would pray in the morning has changed.

Everything we were so used to is gone. Nothing is in its usual place, if you know what we mean.

It’s not anything that any one person can help with. It hits everyone differently. But one thing we have in common is that change is change!

If it is change that God has brought, we either go with it or we stop moving forward.

God will bring change to us in different ways at different times. Some changes aren’t that hard and we enjoy them. We welcome then with open arms.

Some are changes that will cause us to feel like we cannot do it. Those changes will make us or break us. We will either go the full distances or faint on the way.

But, on this journey I have learned not to faint or be ashamed if you feel you can’t do it on your own, because those are the moments we make a very difficult choice; a choice to let go of what we know and lean on Him.

He will give us things at times that are impossible for us in our human strength to do or to bear.

But He does not want us to do it on our own. In fact, we can’t do it on our own.

What are you doing today that requires you to have God’s strength, wisdom, and joy to fulfill His plan in your life?

Don’t get down on yourself because you don’t have what it takes. Reach out for His hand. He planned it, He has the answers.

Isaiah 40:28 (NKJV) 28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-2-21

Daniel 3:29 (NKJV)  29 Therefore I make a decree that any people, nation, or language which speaks anything amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made an ash heap; because there is no other God who can deliver like this.”

God revealed Himself to king Nebuchadnezzer by delivering these three men, Shadrach, Meshack and Abed-Nego, after they had been thrown into a fiery furnace.

They came out with not even a hair singed on any of them. And they did not even smell like smoke!

This made a big impression on the king. He and many others saw God move that day.

What an amazing moment! I love how the King asked, “didn’t we put three men in the furnace? But, I see four, and the fourth is like the Son of God”.

Daniel 3:25 (NKJV) 25 “Look!” he answered, “I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.”

I would have been shouting at that moment! Woohoo!!

Why did God deliver them? Because they trusted Him. Because they were loyal to Him, and because they would not bow and worship a statue. They stood their ground.

Let us ponder on this today and ask ourselves; would we have been willing to stand up for what we believe, knowing that if we did, we may suffer severe consequences?

It’s hard to imagine that someday we may face such decisions. But know that if that day ever comes, like it did for Shadrach, Meshack and Abed-Nego, God is our deliverer.

Be brave and don’t cave in. He will be there with us. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-12-21 – The Den

Please click to watch the video nowGreetings in the name of Jesus!

Most of us are familiar with the story of Daniel in the lion’s den.

In today’s video, The Den, we teach about some of the lessons that we can learn from Daniel when it comes to our loyalty to God, and the price we may sometimes pay for taking a stand for the truth.

We hope you will take a few minutes to watch it, and then share it with others.

Please click here to watch the video now.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-30-21

Hebrews 13:6 (NKJV) 6 So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”

I love God with all my heart. And I don’t say that lightly.

Every day that goes by proves to me more and more that He is our one true source of hope.

No matter what I see happening, whether on a personal level or on a global scale, God is my Helper. And because He is my helper, I will not fear the things that I see.

Life can be scary for those who are apart from God. And I will admit that even with God, it can be pretty challenging sometimes, causing us to shrink back on occasion as unexpected things confront us.

But God never shrinks back. And because He dwells within us, we shouldn’t shrink back either.

Sometimes that’s easier said than done, but there is a reality in that statement that we, as believers, need to embrace boldly in our lives.

That still might not always make it easy for us, but it should give us courage to stand when we need to stand, fight when we need to fight and look not to our own intellect for answers, but to the Spirit of God, whom Jesus called our Helper.

And, as we are told in Romans, if God is for us, who can be against us?

Romans 8:31 (NKJV) 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

So, when we face the hard things, we need to stand strong in our faith, and look to Jesus, the author and finisher of that faith (Hebrews 12:2).

Trust Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-19-21

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

As each day goes by, I live by this scripture more and more.

We are living in a time where we absolutely need to trust God 100%. There’s no other way for us to move ahead and be who He wants us to be if we’re not trusting Him in absolutely everything.

I wrestle constantly with what we’re seeing. I watch evil in plain sight. It is blatant. It is in your face. It makes no effort to hide.

But no matter what we see, I know that God’s providence will play out and that His plans are better than my plans or your plans.

I will admit that I would love nothing more than to wake up one morning and see that He has swept His hand across the globe and taken care of everything that we see happening.

But that is not my choice to make. It is His. And His ways are much higher than ours.

Isaiah 55:9 (NKJV) 9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.

He sees everything; the big picture. We see only in part.

So, I will lean on His understanding, not mine. I will walk by His plans, not mine. And when I’m having one of those moments where I feel like I can’t take seeing one more evil plot carried out in plain sight, I will surrender it to Him and trust Him even more.

In the meantime, I will continue to stand on His word, His truth and freedom in Jesus Christ.

I invite you to stand with me and watch as God carries out His perfect plan.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-8-21

Psalm 37:5 (NKJV) 5 Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.

Over the last 10 years I have learned a lot about trusting God no matter what a situation looks like.

Just like you, we have walked through some pretty tough situations over the years.

For us, it began around 2012. The period between 2012 and 2016 was gut-wrenching.

That 4-5 year period made us feel like our guts were being ripped out.

In reality, though, it was our pride and many other things that were being ripped out. We just didn’t know it at the time.

Hindsight is always interesting, to be sure.

During those times of extreme duress, we learned who we were and where our trust really was.

Yes, we trusted God. But we learned that we didn’t trust Him nearly as much as we thought we did. And He was in the process of showing us what it really meant to trust Him with everything about our lives.

As we learned this, things started falling back into place.

Then along came 2020. And the rug got pulled from under the feet of the entire world.

This time, though, we leaned on God from the outset and He carried us through, as He does so very well.

What’s really interesting is that the 37th Psalm was written by David, as he questioned God about why it seemed that corrupt, evil people most often went without punishment for their sins and their crimes.

Ultimately, David came to understand that God is sovereign, and that He works things out in His way and His timing.

And so, as I have watched the incredible, very visible rise of evil during 2020 and now into 2021, I know that it is in God’s hands.

In 2021, God is once again teaching me more and more about trusting Him, especially when things don’t look the way I would like them to.

I am to pray, to fast when He asks me to, and to do battle in the spiritual realm, all the while trusting Him and His ways. In this, I know that evil will be repaid, and justice will be done when and how He sees fit.

It’s not always easy to surrender my thinking, my opinions and my feelings to His providence, but I know it’s the only way that I can learn to truly trust Him in all things.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-14-21 – I Will Trust

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in the name of Jesus!

Have you ever noticed our tendency to trust God more when things are going the way we like it to go?

Let’s face it. It’s easier to trust in someone when you like what’s happening.

In today’s video, I Will Trust, we teach on this aspect of our walk with God and explain why we need to be sure to trust God no matter how things look.

This video is short and concise, so we hope you’ll take a few minutes to watch it.

Bible Verse of the Day – 2-1-21

Jeremiah 33:3 (NKJV) 3 ‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’

I live in New England, where the winters are cold and snow falls from time to time.

I have lived here all my life. I was born here and have never lived anywhere else. So, you’d think that I would love the winters.

But I don’t.

Over the years, I have grown to despise the cold and snow. I very much prefer warmth over cold. I prefer to be able to go outside to walk, go fishing, spend time at the range practicing my shooting skills and enjoying the outdoors in general.

We have considered moving south, where it is warm all year. But we have never felt the release by God to do that. So, we stay put for now.

Today, as I write this, it is cold and snowing.

I find this oddly symbolic. Let me explain.

On this day, there is a very dark presence in the spiritual atmosphere.

That presence is strong. It is foreboding. It taunts.

It is the culmination of decades of activity by some very dark players, both in the natural, and in the spiritual realm.

This presence causes many to fall into despair and question the very foundations of their faith.

Now, let me get back to snow, and why I mentioned it earlier.

Even though I don’t like snow much, I see the snow that’s falling today as being very symbolic.

Snow is pure and it is white. It gives the colorless winter landscapes here in New England a fresh new look, covering up all of the gray, brown, dead-looking trees.

It’s like a sign of life and purity in the midst of a season of death.

You see, God has a way of speaking to us that we might miss if we’re not careful and vigilant to see it or hear it.

He is saying, “I’ve got this. This is not the end. It is the beginning. Follow me as I lead. Keep your eyes on Me. I will show you great and mighty things.”

We need to trust Him in all things, even when what we see with our eyes might not look the way we think it should.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-10-20

Numbers 14:4 (NKJV) 4 So they said to one another, “Let us select a leader and return to Egypt.”

Picture with me, if you will, a very large group of people who had been slaves all their lives, subject to the whims of their masters, not able to do anything of their own accord.

They worked endlessly from dawn until dark, doing nothing unless they were told to do so. They had no freedom whatsoever.

Now, picture them being set free, no longer having to endure beatings, endless hours of back-breaking labor, and now being led, protected by and provided for by God Himself.

Sounds like a really good deal, right?

Arguably, anyone in their right mind wouldn’t want to trade this scenario for anything in the world.

But the Israelites did!

When they reached a place of being unsure of their destiny, they wanted to go back to slavery. Seriously! They wanted to trade their freedom for familiarity, even though it would mean giving up everything they had gained.

Why? Because their current situation was uncomfortable. It was uncomfortable because it was new to them.

They didn’t know what to expect each day. They had no routine, no schedule. And this scared them.

It scared them so much, in fact, that they would have willingly returned to Egypt and subjected themselves to slave labor just to have a little security.

Do we ever do this? Do we ever long to go back to an earlier time just for the sake of being in a situation or in surroundings that are familiar and a bit more comfortable for our minds, even though it usually means being far worse off overall?

It’s safe to say that we have probably all done this, or at least thought about doing it, more than once in our lifetimes. And many of us do it frequently.

The good news, though, is that there is a fix for this. It’s all about learning to trust God with our lives, letting Him lead us and guide us, without constantly questioning Him and asking Him why He’s doing what He’s doing.

This takes time to mature and develop in our lives. It doesn’t happen overnight. It also doesn’t happen if we don’t make the effort to grow our relationship with Him.

But when we do put forth the effort, we are rewarded with a flourishing walk with God and a faith in Him that stands strong even in the face of the most adverse situations, and a trust that can’t be broken no matter what we face.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-18-20

Exodus 14:14 (NKJV) 14 The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”

When God tells us we are to hold our peace, He is basically saying, “be silent”.

In other words, if things don’t look good from where we stand, we should not be crying about it.

Why? Because we trust God in spite of what we see. He has it all figured out!

Our lack of complaining shows that our trust in Him is real.

We are not running around telling everyone what we are going through. We are not being negative, and we are not walking around with a bitter or angry attitude.

Holding our peace means being still in our thoughts, no matter what we are facing in our everyday life situations, as we are waiting on Him to come through for us in a way that will bring complete healing and victory.

We are not waiting for the sake of just waiting. We are waiting on His perfection and excellence to be done, in His timing, and for it to bring closure on the thing that fights us and tries to take us out.

The Lord God loves us enough to fight for us as we hold our peace. Amen.
