Bible Verse of The Day – 8-4-22

Hebrews 4:15 (NKJV) 15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.

He cares. He knows and He completely understands us. He has been tested in every way. He knows what we need in that moment and hour of sorrow, pain, sadness and desperation.

He provides strength for each one of us and a way to get through whatever we face. If we obey and surrender, we will come out with victory!

His compassion for us is so real. The Bible says He wept when He heard about the death of Lazarus.

John 11:35-36 (NKJV) 35 Jesus wept. 36 Then the Jews said, “See how He loved him!”

Another time that Jesus wept was over Jerusalem.

Luke 19:41 (NKJV) 41 Now as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it…

For it would be destroyed because they were blind to the true nature of His kingdom, and they would reject Him. As a result, it would be destroyed.

Jesus loves deeply and He felt pain at times. He knows our pain for sure.

Another time that He was in tears was in Gethsemane, when He was drawing close to the time of His death on the cross. He cried out in deep anguish to His Father. No one could ever understand what He was dealing with in that hour.

Hebrews 5:7 (NKJV) 7 who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear…

We are not alone today or any day. We have a great High Priest, Jesus Christ, Who has been through more than we would ever know. He can sympathize with us.

Run to Him.

Matthew 11:30 (NKJV) 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-30-21

1 John 3:1 (NKJV) 1 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.

I am so humbled today in reading this verse, knowing the love that our Father has bestowed on us.

This means that those who belong to Him, those who have put their faith in His Son, Jesus Christ, are called children of God.

It’s amazing that He went through all of this for us, and still many have not accepted it. So many have not even considered what He went through to offer us the opportunity to become His children.

When we have been provided with a way to become a child of God, who would reject such a blessing, such an honor, such an answer to all of our problems?

Don’t reject the Way, the Truth and the Life.  Receive the truth today. Repent of our sins and become a child of God this day.

John 14:6 (NKJV) 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-12-18

Isaiah 53:5-6 (NKJV) 5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

Another word for iniquity is sin. He took the rap for all our sin. He was bruised, whipped and mocked. He was beaten beyond recognition and nailed to a cross.

Who would do this for us?  Who would ever put us before their own needs and desires? Jesus Christ, the Son of God. A Man that was born of a virgin.

Even though He was the Son of the Most High God, He still felt pain, He still had emotions and He still wept, like we do. His heart ached at different times and He felt loneliness, just like us.

I overlooked these things as a child and just took it for granted, that because He was God’s Son, God protected Him from the pain of the crucifixion. I had it in my head that He could do what He did for me with no problem. I neglected to realize and understand that He was still a Man of flesh, just like us.

He felt it all. Don’t think He didn’t. He felt the stripes. He felt the nails. He didn’t get away with anything because of being the Son of God. What this man did for each one of us was priceless. It was beyond our human understanding of love.

What does He ask for in return? He asks for us to receive Him and His love. And to love others like He loves us.

His love changes hard hearts and makes them soft and new. His love brings life!

John 13:34-35 (NKJV) 34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Thank you, Jesus, for what you did for us. We are ever so grateful and humbled!

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-26-18

Ephesians 5:1-2 (NKJV) 1 Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. 2 And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.

These two verses are the sum of who we should be as children of God.

Though it is impossible to be 100% like God, He has told us to be imitators of Him in the way we act.

Jesus showed the world a kind of love that no one had ever seen. He put much time and effort into showing God’s love for people by walking it out in person. His love wasn’t fake or simulated. It was genuine.

And it was so pure that most could not understand or comprehend it. It was beyond their ability to make sense of it with human intellect.

Jesus loved to the point of giving His life for us. He spared no expense at proving this love. And when everything was said and done, He commanded us to love one another, even as He had loved us.

John 13:34 (NKJV) 34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.

So who are we to disagree or argue with God? How do we justify not loving others when Jesus himself has commanded us to do so?

We would find ourselves hard pressed to find a suitable excuse or justify our lack of love if we were to stand before Jesus and answer for that lack of love.

We all know that some people are harder to love than others. And some days it’s harder to love anyone than on other days.

But, with the Holy Spirit guiding us, and us obeying Him, our excuses drop like specks of dust in comparison to the love Jesus showed us all.

Church, let’s work hard to love the way God has told us to. It might be hard in the beginning, but as we let Him lead us, and we follow that leading, we will find it getting easier and easier.

Bible verse of The Day – 12-9-15

Romans 8:38-39 (NKJV) 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

It seems that the world has been turned upside down in the last few years.

Not everyone agrees on exactly what the cause might be, but everyone can agree that the world is a different place than it was even just 10 – 15 years ago.

Seeing everything that’s happening with terrorism, civil unrest in so many countries and economic upheaval across the globe can cause us to live in fear, if we’re not careful.

But as we press in and draw near to God, we can rest assured that no matter what happens, nothing can pull us away from God and His love for us.

James 4:8 (NKJV) 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you…

So if fear tries to grip you, or if you begin to doubt that God is still in control, remember that He never changes, and He will never leave us or forsake us.

Malachi 3:6 (NKJV) 6 “For I am the Lord, I do not change…

Deuteronomy 31:6 (NKJV) 6 Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”

Trust Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-30-15

Romans 8:38-39 (NKJV) 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Today, we want to encourage you!

So many of us have faced battles. We’ve walked through storms. We’ve made tough decisions.

Some of our choices and decisions have been good ones, while others might not have been so good. And maybe we’re reaping from some of those bad choices. It happens to all of us at some point in our lives.

And when it does happen, it can be devastating. And we can question God’s love for us in light of the things we might have said or done.

But here is hope for you. Here is truth that will set things straight and set your heart and mind at ease.

There is nothing that we can do that can separate us from the love of God.

It doesn’t matter how deep we’ve sunk. It doesn’t matter how terrible our choices have been or how bad our actions might seem.

God. Will. Never. Stop. Loving. Us.

His word promises this and He isn’t a man that can lie.

So rest today in knowing this. Repent from your choices and run into His arms, where He is waiting for you with them wide open.

Know today, that beyond anything else, you are loved beyond measure.
