Bible Verse of The Day – 10-18-18

Proverbs 27:1 (NKJV) 1 Do not boast about tomorrow, For you do not know what a day may bring forth.

Don’t feel bad if you don’t know how everything is going to work out, or how you will get this done or that done. Learn to take things one day at a time.

Planning things well in advance is not always the best thing. Most times it puts a lot of unnecessary stress on us.

God doesn’t want us stressed out. Too much stress can lead to other illnesses.

How many of us are fighting to keep everything in perfect order, working hard to stick to a schedule or routine? It may be time to stop and relax.

If we could learn to just take life as it comes and not plan so far ahead, we would be more at peace. And we would be better able to handle whatever comes our way that we weren’t expecting.

We need to be ready to change the way we do things, leading to a less stressful life. God is faithful to help us learn how to move today, in the here and now. That is good enough for Him.

Matthew 6:34 (NKJV) 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-7-18

Joshua 1:9 (NKJV) 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

There are a lot of intimidating people and situations in this world that we may have to deal with from time to time, and it’s not always easy. Sometimes we will find ourselves panicking because we are not sure what steps to take in handling it properly.

When we panic it causes us to become stressed and anxious. It can exhaust us to the point where we are tired and we may even get depressed. We are worn out and can’t do a thing. We feel we have lost control.

The enemy loves when we reach this point. He thinks he has us eating out of the palm of his hand. This is how he tries to defeat us, as long as we follow along.

As soon as we begin to feel stress and anxiety trying to kick in and take over, that is when we need to be strong, not be afraid, and do our best to resist it. How? We stop letting it control us, and we realize where the attack is coming from. And we say NO!

James 4:7 (NKJV) 7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

The quicker we pick up on the attack against us, the better our days will be. We can’t let the enemy defeat us.

Be strong, rebuke him in Jesus’ name and enjoy your day. God is with you!

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-22-17

Matthew 6:31-34 (NKJV) 31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Worrying. Most of us spend way too much time doing it.

What does worrying do?

It causes stress. It causes high blood pressure. It causes fear. And the list could go on and on.

But notice one thing; not one of the things that worrying does is helpful or positive. They are all harmful to us in one way or another.

And here’s another thing to consider; the vast majority of the things we worry about never happen. So, all of the time and energy we spent worrying was wasted.

Jesus said not to worry. He also said that worrying won’t add a single cubit to our stature. Literally spoken, it won’t make us taller! In other words, we gain absolutely nothing by worrying.

Matthew 6:27 (NKJV) 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

So, what’s the answer? How do we quit worrying when we’re facing difficult things?

The answer is easy. Carrying it out, however, isn’t always easy. Especially at first.

We trust God with absolutely everything about our lives. Everything. That means the little things and the big things. We take them to Him. We give them to Him. And we stop trying to carry them ourselves and figure them out ourselves.

We learn from Him. We listen for His voice, and we do what He tells us to do, even when it doesn’t make sense to our heads and our human understanding.

And as we do this, we begin to learn how to walk through storms and trials without spending every waking hour worrying and fretting over things that we have no control over to begin with.

We begin to learn how to hear Him and follow His leading, as He gives us step by step guidance and instructions.

And over time, it becomes easier and easier to follow Him and put worrying behind us.
