Bible Verse of The Day – 2-26-18

Philippians 3:10 (NKJV) 10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death…

Many of us, or maybe even most of us, want to know God more intimately than we do now. Some of us only know Him a little. Some of us know Him very well. Either way, though, we long to know Him better.

Personally, I crave to know Him more deeply. It’s a yearning that I feel inside of me. It drives me. It pushes me to go deeper with Him. To work harder to obtain the knowledge and understanding that I need in order to walk more closely with my Father, my Creator, the Giver of life to us all.

And don’t make any mistakes regarding the words “work harder”. I’m not implying that works (good deeds) will draw us closer to God. I’m referring, instead, to making whatever effort is needed to push away the obstacles that would try and hinder me and interfere with me, in order to prevent me from reaching my goal of knowing Him more intimately.

As I write this, I feel the words of Paul resounding within me, as He shared his longing for the very same thing.

Philippians 3:8-11 (NKJV) 8 Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; 10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, 11 if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.

I may not have been through the same things as Paul when it comes to paying a price for my faith. But I still feel the same longing within me to “know Him and the power of His resurrection” in my life.

Many of you reading this are likely feeling the same thing. Are you longing to know Him more? Is He calling you to go deeper with Him? Do you feel like there are so very many things that try to hinder you and prevent you from pressing in to Him and building a deeper relationship with Him?

That’s the work I’m referring to! The work that’s required to meet Him in a quiet place and listen for His voice as He speaks to our hearts and nurtures us as only He can do.

He is there, church. He’s in the quiet places, beckoning us, calling us to come away from the noise and the distractions. Reminding us that it’s never too late to start. That today is a new day full of wonder that He wants to be able to share with us, one-on-one.

It’s time, children of God. It’s time to stop putting it off; the work that’s required to cast off those things that hold us down like a ball and chain, preventing us from meeting and communing with Him.

Only we can change it. We have to want it badly enough to do something about it. We have to desire it like nothing else. And we have to be willing to do what it takes to obtain it.

We work so hard for other things that are meaningless compared to eternity. We slave away our hours, days and weeks for material possessions. We trade our hours for dollars day after day.

Now it’s time for us to put that much effort into our walk with God.

Do it. We dare you. And we promise you’ll never, ever be the same again.

Bible Verse of The Day – Moving Forward With God (Part 1) – 12-17-17

Greetings in the name of Jesus!

We hope you are enjoying your day.

As believers, we should always be moving forward in our walk with God. But what does that mean?

We just finished recording a new video series that covers this topic in depth. The first video of the series has been published.

Please click here to watch it now.

God will never force us to move forward with Him. He gives us the choice to move, or to stay where we are.

Please click here to watch it now.

But, how we fare as believer, and how fruitful our lives are, depends wholly on our choice to move forward with Him or not.

We sincerely believe that this series will help you move forward in your walk with God, so please take a few minutes to watch and listen.

Please click here to watch it now.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-9-17

Genesis 6:9 (NKJV) 9 This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God.

Noah walked with God. What a way to live this life here on earth.

Did Noah wait until he got to heaven to walk with God? No way! He walked with Him here.

We all need to walk daily with God. That means we need to make room for Him. That means we need to stop trying to walk on our own, by ourselves, for ourselves and in and of ourselves.

There are many Christians today that, even though God is their Father and they are His child, still have a problem with letting God in on their life.

They feel that life is theirs until they get to Heaven. Then and only then God can have them.

That is not how it is intended to be. Of course, it can be that way if that is our will. But think about this; is that really what we want?

Do we want God in our life only when we need Him? Or do we want to walk daily with Him, like Noah did?

Some may mistakenly take this verse as saying God walked with Noah because he was a just man; Because he was perfect in his generation. But, Noah became this man from his relationship and his walk with God.

This man, Noah, was human. He had faults of his own, just like you and I. But by walking with God he became this man.

Noah and God had a relationship. And we can all have that, simply by walking humbly, following His word, and trusting and believing in His Son, Jesus Christ. Don’t wait to get to Heaven. know Him now, every day.

Micah 6:8 (NKJV) 8 He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-16-17

Matthew 6:21 (NKJV) 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Where our treasure is, there our heart will also be.

This was such a short, simple statement made by Jesus. But it sums up our entire walk with God perfectly.

Whatever our heart is focused on is what we will spend time on. Our “treasure” will occupy our time, our thoughts and our attention.

When we open our mouth to speak, what’s in our heart will come out. If our treasure is money, we will talk of financial matters. If our treasure is our hobby, we will spend as much time as possible thinking and talking about it, as well as participating in it.

If our treasure is our spouse, we will spend all of our time and effort trying to please them. Sometimes we might even put our spouse before God.

If we want to please God and build a strong relationship with Him, we need to be sure we are putting Him first in everything. He needs to come before our money, our hobbies, our careers and, yes, even before our spouse.

And if we love God and put Him first, our priorities will fall into order and the love that we show our spouse won’t be forced or artificial. It will be like God’s love is pouring directly from Him to our spouse, with us acting as the funnel that it flows through.

And so it will be with everything else. Once we let God set our priorities in order, He will oversee our career, our family, our finances and everything else that’s important in our lives.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-20-16

Proverbs 24:33-3 (NKJV) 33 A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to rest; 34 So shall your poverty come like a prowler, And your need like an armed man.

Apathy & complacency. Those two words were dropped into my spirit as I pondered on some things during the past day or two.

Many believers wrestle with apathy. Apathy and complacency go hand in hand. This terrible duo can lead to the failure and ultimate destruction of a believer’s spiritual wellbeing.

What do we mean by that? Let’s talk about it for a minute or two.

First, let’s define those two words that are partners in quiet, subtle destruction.

Complacency: a feeling of being satisfied with how things are and not wanting to try to make them better

Apathy: the feeling of not having much emotion or interest

As believers, we should always be looking up and looking forward. Our eyes need to be fixed on God and our hearts need to be intent on drawing closer to Him and strengthening our relationship with Him.

This requires time and effort on our part!

When we become complacent and satisfied with how things are, we can become apathetic. We no longer have any interest in pursuing God or growing that relationship. We just want the status quo because it’s easy that way.

And as time goes by, if we’re not moving forward, we begin to slowly regress and then we start to slip backwards. We may not see that we’re slipping backwards. Or maybe we do see it, but don’t want to admit it or acknowledge it. But it’s happening nonetheless.

So let’s ask God to show us if we’ve become complacent and/or apathetic. And listen earnestly and honestly for His reply. He wants us to stay hot and on fire for Him, not lukewarm or smoldering.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-13-16

Mark 1:35 (NKJV) 35 Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.

Building a relationship with our heavenly Father will also help us with any other relationships that come our way. Time is going to be the key that will unlock the door.

If we can put some time aside and dedicate it to that relationship, the growth of our relationship will begin. It doesn’t have to be the same amount of time or at the same time every day, but just some time.

Some days will seem harder than others to put the time aside, depending on the things that are pulling on us.

But what we need to remember is that if we lack time with God, we hurt ourselves.

Our time with Him, building our relationship, will help us to have a better attitude toward the things going on around us.

It will help us to be more patient, kind and compassionate, when our emotions are wanting to freak out.

It will help us to be wiser, alert and ready for things that we may face throughout our day.

Yes, it will take time. But during the time we spend with Him, we will learn His voice and follow His way each day.

John 10:27 (NKJV) 27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-5-16

1 Corinthians 9:24 (NKJV) 24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.

Races. They’re fun. They’re challenging. And they show us what we’re made of. And in the end, only one person can win a race.

I love competition. I have a very competitive nature and personality. If I do something, I do it to win. I do it to the best of my ability. I want to know that, when I finish something, I gave it my all. 110%, so to speak.

In today’s world, many people are taught that in a race, everyone should get a trophy, regardless of how well they finish. It doesn’t matter if they trained very hard or didn’t train at all. Some people think that those people who didn’t bother to train should get rewarded equally with those who trained very, very hard.

In God’s word, He tells us to run the race in such a way that we may obtain the prize. He isn’t referring to a physical race, but a spiritual race. It’s a race that each one of us is participating in.

This race that we run is toward a heavenly goal. In this race, we’re not competing against each other. But we’re racing toward God Himself, battling demons and powers of darkness who will try to hold us back and pull us down.

God has given us everything we need to battle the demons and run the race, finishing strongly, and claiming the prize!

It’s up to us whether we give it 110% or just 10%. It’s up to us whether we finish strongly, charging through that ribbon, or we barely make it, limping across the finish line.

It’s up to us. You and me. What will it be?

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-29-16

1 Timothy 2:5(NKJV) 5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,

Our relationship with the Father can be as deep and as strong as we want it to be. Isn’t that AWESOME?

There is NO limit to how much time we spend with Him! We can go to the Father morning, noon or night. Why? Because Jesus Christ, our Mediator, has made this possible.

We don’t have to go through any other man to get to God. What a privilege and honor!

Are we working on our relationship with Him today? Are we growing stronger in our walk or are we still at where we were when we first came to know Him?

Draw near to Him today by communicating and spending time with Him.

Psalm 73:28 (NKJV) 28 But it is good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, That I may declare all Your works.

He is faithful!!

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-24-16

Proverbs 4:25 (NKJV) 25 Let your eyes look straight ahead, And your eyelids look right before you.

How does one stay focused?

I have to ask God to help me everyday to stay focused. Why? Because there are so many things that like to come and pull on me.

These things that like to get our attention and pull on us aren’t always the things we need to be tending to. And they can cause us to be distracted from the very things we need to be doing. They can also pull us away from God, coming between us and Him.

How do we stay focused, looking straight ahead? Sometimes it takes making changes in the way we do things. Sometimes we need to avoid certain situations or certain people.

Shutting off our various electronic and mobile devices, until we take care of the things we need to get done, can also help us stay focused.

Sometimes putting ourselves out there and making ourselves available to everyone more than we need to can cause us not to get our own things done. We fall behind, get overwhelmed, and it creates chaos.

We may need to put limits on how much we’re available to others, in order to stay focused.

Focusing brings forward motion in our daily walk with God. Amen.
