Bible Verse of The Day – 2-25-22

Romans 6:8-9 (NKJV) 8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, 9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him.

There is a wealth of information for us to learn from here in these verses, especially regarding death, which we will all eventually face.

This is also very helpful when dealing with the loss of a loved one who was a believer. It helps us to better understand everything that we’re trying to process in our heads when dealing with that loss.

First, if we are a believer, then we have already “died with Christ”. Being born again infers that we have died and have been resurrected, a new creation in Christ.

Also, because we are believers, when our physical bodies die, we trust that we will live eternally in the presence of Christ.

Death no longer has dominion (power, dominance, control, mastery, authority) over us.

Death has been dealt a final blow by the resurrection of Christ, and we reap the benefits of that!

Not only did Jesus give the devil a black eye, but He broke his neck, removing his power, once and for all.

So, when we are mourning or struggling with the loss of someone we love, it’s good for us to remember this.

This doesn’t mean we will no longer be sad, or that we will not miss that person.

But it should give us hope and comfort to know and understand that the one we have lost is still alive in His presence. They are, in fact, more alive than they ever were here on earth.

We just have to let God give us understanding in this area as He comforts us in times of sorrow.

If you have recently lost someone, or you’re struggling with a loss that was maybe not so recent, we hope this will help you find comfort and some peace of mind.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-17-22

John 14:2 (NKJV) 2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

We Lost a wonderful friend this past week. She was 85 years old and loved the Lord tremendously.

I don’t know how she found us. But when she did, we wrote back and forth frequently, and we became very good friends.

She would even get on me if we were traveling and didn’t let her know when we had arrived at our destination.

We believe our friendship was divine; of God. Like many others have, she was doing a search at some point in the past and stumbled upon My Bible Verse of The Day.

Though we will miss her terribly, we rejoice in knowing that we have been blessed with her friendship and that she is now in the presence of God. How do we know this? Because of her relationship in Christ Jesus.

Oh, how our heart aches, but yet also rejoices!

How can that be? It’s the love of God and His presence in our lives that connects us as brothers and sisters in Christ. We are one in Him.

Today, as we sit here missing our good friend already (wishing we could get one more email from her), we know she is with God and in our Heavenly home.

What is she doing? That we don’t know. But we can just imagine she must truly be in awe and happy beyond what words can describe!

May God bless everyone today who is feeling the loss of someone dear. They may have left us here, but God has them.

The same God that holds them, holds us. Let Him comfort us and fill the emptiness.

We will see them again in the place where He has gone before us, and we will celebrate eternal life together.

John 17:3 (NKJV) 3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-4-21

Psalm 147:3 (NKJV) 3 He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.

Losing a loved one brings up many questions.

Where are they now that we can’t feel, touch or speak to them? Are they in heaven? Are they still in the ground? Do they have a new body? Are they missing me?

Our minds want answers. We try so hard to find those answers, hoping it will bring comfort, taking away the loneliness and the pain of their absence.

Losing someone dear to us can make us stronger or it can break us for life.

Because we loved so much, it almost literally breaks our heart when they pass on or go home.

We can listen to others and try to find comfort in books, counsel, and other sources.

But beware of the mediums who will act like they can reach the dead and connect with them.

It’s all a lie and demonic in every form. They can mess you up completely and severely damage your relationship with God.

Unless we let God heal that broken, lonely heart, we will never get up and get back on our feet again. We too will die on the inside. We will still be walking and breathing, but dead to everything around us.

Getting mad at anyone, even God, will not do a bit of good.

We need to be healed. Time will help with that, but what’s most important is that we run to Him with our pain.

We need to rest in His arms, laying down all that is in us that concerns us. As we do this, He will bring healing and find a way to get us up and walking again.

The devil would love for us to blame God. He would love for us to be angry at Him and the world.

But all that will do is hurt us more, causing us to fall away from the One who can truly help us and comfort us.

He will be our best friend in such a difficult time.

If we are suffering or struggling because of our loss, there are two things to do today.

1. Acknowledge our brokenness.

2. Ask God to bring healing and get us up and walking again.

Death is part of this life here on earth.

But in Heaven there is no more death, no sorrow and no pain.

There is no loss. There is no sin and there are no struggles.

But while we are still here, our healing comes by putting one foot in front of the other and walking out each day with the Lord’s guidance.

Death happens to us all at times. Let us cry out for God’s help to get us through it.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-15-21

John 3:16 (NKJV) 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

My 86 year old Dad passed away last week. He was a strong believer in Jesus Christ!

I laid on the bed beside him and watched him take his last breath. He had liver cancer and was fading quickly.

Toward the end, he realized and said to me, after struggling to breathe, “I can’t beat it this time”.

It was sad to hear these words from him. But at the same time, I was happy for his sake. He knew it was time to go.

I said, “it’s OK Dad, you don’t have to beat it”. I said, “I love you”. And he mustered up the strength and said, “I love you too.”

He was a fighter. But the fight was over and it was time for him to rest in God’s arms. It was his time to go home.

I know many of you have lost loved ones. And you are hurting from their absence. You feel that you would do anything to have them back right now. I know this feeling.

But, remember how blessed we are to have a wonderful Heavenly Father that holds our dear ones in His arms.

It’s not like we don’t know where they are. Jesus said to the thief on the cross, today you will be with me in paradise. For that I am ever so grateful!

Luke 23:43 (NKJV) 43 And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”

We can’t have them back. And, no, we will not interact with them here on earth again.

But God will give us peace to live on without them. And some day we will be together with them in Heaven, if we and they have put our faith in His Son, Jesus Christ.

Today, if you suffer from the emptiness of the loss of a loved one, let God fill you with His comfort, His healing and His strength.

I’m telling you, without Him I would be so hollow. But with Him I am full.

He gives me the strength to go on. He gives me the stability to keep on keeping on through life’s difficulties.

Lean on His everlasting arms and He will give you what you need today.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-9-18

Luke 23:43 (NKJV) 43 And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”

Hallelujah!

Where are our loved ones that have gone before us? Jesus said to one of the men beside Him on the cross, “today you will be with me in Paradise”.

That is a wonderful and encouraging thing to know and to hold onto. It is comforting to know that our departed loved ones who knew Jesus Christ as their Savior are with Him today in paradise.

We that are still here, no matter how difficult it is, must move on. We must keep going. We cannot die with them. We still have things on this earth to tend to.

Our time will come and we too will be in paradise with Jesus and with those that have gone before us. But, for now it’s not yet that time.

Be encouraged and comforted today. Your family member or your good friend, etc., is in a place called paradise, with Jesus. That is a great place to be! Amen.

Don’t worry about them. They are safe!

Yes, we miss them and our heart aches with the loss of them. But it’s time for us to let Jesus help us, to pick ourselves up and move on with the things that He has for us to do here. It won’t be long until we will all be rejoicing, singing and praising Him together, in His presence!

Let our heart beat again and live. Rejoice in knowing that He is faithful!

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-23-18

James 4:13-14 (NKJV) 13 Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; 14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.

Life. We so often look at it as though it will last forever.

But we will all one day realize that life here on earth is temporal and fleeting.

It seems that every week during the last few months we have been reminded again and again of the fragility and fleetingness of life. It truly is only a vapor that is here and gone before we know it.

Friends, acquaintances, family and loved ones leave us, and leave a gaping hole in our hearts, as we say goodbye to them and mourn their passing.

Today we celebrated our oldest grandson’s 11th birthday. Such young life, full of vitality and energy! And so incredible to watch as he grows up right before our eyes, as are all four of our grandchildren.

But even as we watch them grow, we also say goodbye to others. And our hearts ache with the loss. It’s something that we all deal with at different times in our lives; Loss and mourning.

But know this; God wants us to let Him help our hearts heal. No, the person we have lost can never be replaced. But God can touch our hearts and heal them in a way that we might never think possible, if only we will let Him.

So, today we continue to remind everyone about how precious life is, and how not one person reading this is promised a tomorrow. So be sure to love those around you with your whole heart. Forgive and ask for forgiveness quickly.

Take the time to do those things that you want to do with those who are close to you. Don’t leave yourself open to living many years of regret when someone you love passes from this life to eternity.

Life is here. And then it is gone. Let’s live it while it’s here. And love while we can.
