Bible Verse of The Day – 7-27-24

James 4:10 (NKJV) 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

To push aside our natural intellect and understanding to allow Him to guide us through our daily activities by His Spirit is very much humbling.

For this purpose, He sent us a Helper, the Holy Spirit.

What more could we ask for than to have the Holy Spirit lead us through this life? I think outside of salvation it is the next best thing for believers!

John 14:26 (NKJV) 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

He will lead us through our daily activities and the most difficult times we will ever walk through.

With His provision we will come through it every time if we follow His guidance and be disciplined in holding tight to His plan.

Reaching out to Him every time we need to make a decision may seem like we are incapable of living our own life.

Quite frankly, it is just the opposite.

It takes courage on a whole new level when we forego our understanding and let Him lead us, guide us or tell us what to do. It is a very humbling endeavor to learn to trust Him in everything.

It is not easy at first. But as we continue to walk in such a way, it does get easier. And our life gets much better than we would expect.

Living humbly in the sight of the Lord is the opposite of how the world may say we should live.

This is exactly why we cannot follow the examples of the world. If we were to look at those the world lifts up and calls examples, what would we see in them?

Pride, vanity, greed, perversion, and a lack of love; all things that are against Christ.

What does the word say about those who are against Him?

Matthew 12:30 (NKJV) 30 He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters abroad.

Let us walk in humility and follow His steps, through which we will bring unity to the places in which we tread.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-20-21

James 4:10 (NKJV) 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

How do we remain humble?

We keep ourselves accountable to God’s word. By doing so our attitude, our disposition, our whole being and the way we carry ourselves will be subject to Him.

Proverbs 16:18 (NKJV) 18 Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.

Pride is one of the things that the enemy will use to get a believer off course. It will cause great destruction in our life if we don’t catch it and deal with it immediately.

The best way to deal with anything is to be truthful with ourselves, recognize what we are doing and allow God to correct us as His child. He will show us how to get free from it and bring us back to the place we need to be in Him.

Hebrews 12:7 (NKJV) 7 If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten?

He loves us dearly and will help us and keep us safe in our walk as we humbly stay surrendered to Him.

Do we want to be lifted up today? Pay attention to our behavior patterns, specifically pride, and let God grow us into humble believers.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-30-16

Proverbs 12:1 (NKJV) 12 Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge, But he who hates correction is stupid.

One of the things I have learned is that just because someone doesn’t always agree with me, or they may carry themselves differently than I do, it doesn’t mean that I can’t learn from them. I shouldn’t just exclude them and push them away immediately because of our differences.

Listening and learning is a big part of how we grow. We grow stronger and wiser by paying attention to those that may be a little different than us.

We can win battles at times if we listen to the right people and learn from them. Sometimes we look at people and think, “well, so and so made this mistake so they are not going to tell me how to how to live my life. Look what happened to them, look what they’ve been through. How can they teach me anything?”

Exactly. They walked through it. That is how we learn from each other. By simply walking through things and learning, we will come out with a lesson.

If someone has been through something similar to what we are going through and they came out of it, then they just might have the very answer we need.

There may be someone in our life today that God wants to use to help us win a battle. They have walked through the fire and they have the experience.

Their appearance or credentials may not be exactly what we would expect, but they can help us a great deal. Maybe because we don’t want to see eye to eye with them, we don’t think that they should be the ones to teach us. Boom!

It’s not up to us to always know where our help, answer or teaching will come from.

One thing to remember is that David brought the giant down! Who would have expected a boy to do this? But God knew David and knew he would be the one to do the job.

He knows who we need to help us at times; someone we can learn from. We can’t be so quick to say NO to the help that God brings.

Be open and patient and in time we will see.

1 Samuel 16:7 (NKJV) 7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
