Bible Verse of The Day – 10-18-16

Psalm 31:3 (NKJV) 3 For You are my rock and my fortress; Therefore, for Your name’s sake, Lead me and guide me.

This very day is here once in our lifetime. God made this day for us to enjoy, for us to be a blessing to others, to make a good or positive difference wherever we go. Wherever we step foot, we are to be a light, to bring life and hope into any dark area.

As we let God lead us today and throughout the week, listen for the voice that is crying out for help. Watch for the one that is lonely and helpless. Look beyond what we may be going through in our own personal lives and let God show us the things we are missing out on; loving others.

Don’t pass by, hoping that someone else will do it. Step up to the plate and be who God made us to be.

Romans 8:37 (NKJV) 37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

That’s right, through Jesus Christ, we are more than conquerors. We will get through what we are dealing with and help others to get through theirs as well!

For God is our ROCK and Fortress. He will lead us. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-30-16

Philippians 2:3-4 (NKJV) 3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.

Selfishness. It’s something that we all wrestle with on one level or another. It’s always easier to think of ourselves than to put others first.

But Jesus was the epitome of being selfless. He put Himself after everyone, to the point of dying for us all. And not only did He die for us, but He died the cruelest of deaths on a Roman cross.

As followers of Christ, we should be emulating Jesus, following in His footsteps. Our lives should be using His life as an example of selflessness. We should make an extra effort to put others first, even when it’s not convenient for us.

Because, let’s face it, putting ourselves first is always easier and more convenient.

And as we follow His example, we will shine His light and show His love to others. This is how we show who God is. This is how hearts and lives are changed, when they see God in us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-28-15

Matthew 5:16 (NKJV) 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Being too busy can be a huge distraction. And this time of year in the USA, it gets busy! You can feel it in the air. Everyone is running here and there to get their shopping done and make plans for the celebrations to come. A lot of things can get lost in the busyness.

Let us remember to stay focused on those things that are truly important; People that struggle through the holidays because of the loss of a family member or close friends, those who are without work and can’t afford to pay their bills, and those who are sick with a life-threatening disease. Also those who are lonely and in need of a friend more than ever during these times.

Pray that God will help us to be sensitive to those in need during this busy time, keeping our eyes and ears open to what He is saying as to how we can help.

Let us remain steadfast and not distracted, always reaching out and shining God’s light bright in the lives of those who suffer, struggle and are being tormented on a daily basis.

May our Papa be GLORIFIED in this busy season!! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-26-15

1 Thessalonians 5:11 (NKJV) 11 Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.

It is good to encourage others.

We never know what people are going through in their lives. Sometimes the words we speak to them can make their day and help them get over a hurdle. Sometimes our kind actions can give them strength to keep going on when they wanted to give up.

God tells us to comfort and edify each other. Why?

Because He created us to be a body; many members, with one heart and one purpose. He knew that we could do better as a unit than as many individuals on our own.

Encouraging others doesn’t have to be fancy or complicated. Sometimes it’s as simple as smiling at someone. Sometimes it just means saying hi and letting someone know you care.

Other times, it may require a bit more effort, like maybe lending someone a helping hand with something. Or maybe a visit to the hospital when someone is sick or has had surgery.

And sometimes it might even mean helping someone in other ways, like buying them groceries or something similar.

But God is faithful to show us when people need to be encouraged. We just have to be willing to hear Him and obey 🙂

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-17-15

Matthew 9:11 (NKJV) 11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to His disciples, “Why does your Teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”

Jesus spent time with those who were open and willing to listen to Him, it didn’t matter what they had done, what they had been through or where they came from. He’d spend time with them.

The Pharisees didn’t get it and questioned His disciples. So Jesus answered them.

Matthew 9:12 (NKJV) 12 When Jesus heard that, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.

There are people that know they need help and want it and there are people that need help but refuse it. He went to the ones who wanted it.

Let us reach out to those that need help and are willing to receive it.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-7-15

Mark 10:45 (NKJV) 45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

Serving others. It’s what Jesus came to do. He said it Himself.

For some, serving others comes naturally. For others, it takes deliberate effort to push other things aside and put the needs of others before their own.

As followers of Christ, we need to let God bring this to pass in our own lives. We need to bear this kind of fruit. We need to learn to serve others, even when it’s not convenient.

Jesus even took it further in the previous verse, and tells us that if we desire to be first, we will become slaves.

Mark 10:44 (NKJV) 44 And whoever of you desires to be first shall be slave of all.

Kind of gives it more credence when we see it put this way, directly from the mouth of Jesus, doesn’t it?

So how do we do this? How do we learn to serve others in a way that’s pleasing to God?

We press in to Him and let Him shape us into who He wants us to be. When we do this, our lives will start becoming more of what He wants and less of what we want.

Then, and only then, will we have a heart to serve others as Christ did.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-22-15

Psalm 63:7 (NKJV) 7 Because You have been my help, Therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice.

God will use us to help others in times of need. He will also use others to help us when we need it.

Yesterday I was out and about with my daughter, running errands. We stopped in at a local coffee shop. An elderly woman came in and bought a Latte. Within a few seconds, it was all over her and the floor.

She went up to the counter to ask for help. They handed her a cloth.

My daughter, noticing that she was troubled, went over to help her.

It was on her clothes, shoes, purse, chair and floor.  As my daughter helped her, she heard the woman say, “these are my new shoes.”

My daughter just sympathized with her and said, “I know”. She could tell it was really upsetting the lady.

A lady that worked there heard it as well, so she ran in the back to get some wipes that had a strong cleaner in them. Thankfully, the woman was able to get it all off her “New” shoes.

After all that, the woman sat down and enjoyed her latte!

I know this may seem like a little thing to some, but even in those little things, God will send His help. And He will use us sometimes to be that help for others in need.

Rejoice in Him today. Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-16-15

Matthew 25:37-39 (NKJV) 37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’

Taking time to care for our needs is important and God wants us to do that. The thing to watch out for is spending all of our time on our needs and not having or paying attention to the needs of others.

Every day that goes by there is someone that is in need of something, somewhere. It could be something big or something small; we just never know.

Last week as I was at the local Post Office, I noticed that the Postmaster was outside, clearing brush and cleaning up the parking lot.

He stopped me to say hello and asked how I was doing. I noticed he was hot and red as a beet, from working hard. I looked at the time and realized he was working through his lunch break.

As I drove away, I knew I needed to get him something to eat and drink.

So, after finding the nearest place, I grabbed him lunch and a drink. It probably only took me about 15 minutes of my day. I went back and dropped it off and he was so thankful, and then I was on my way.

As I pulled away I heard God say, “you touched him in the deepest part of his heart.”

The next day I went in to pick up my mail and he said, “thank you so much, you saved my life. I got into that project and it was bigger than I thought. Thank you Pastor so much, it meant a lot.”

You see, I may not have literally saved this man’s life, but he was truly grateful. God knew what he needed and He personally touched this man’s heart that day through my hands.

Giving God our hands and our time not only touches the hearts of others, but it touches the heart of God as well!! Amen.

Matthew 25:40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-28-15

1 Corinthians 15:58 (NKJV) 58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

Know that the time we spend helping others, praying for others, encouraging others, sharing God’s love with others, it is NOT in vain.

There may be days when we might feel like someone is pulling on us for whatever reason, and at the same time, we may have things of our own pressing on us; things that we need to tend to and take care of. But as we take our needs and put them aside to help someone else, that effort is not in vain.

God watches the things we do for others. He sees when we make a sacrifice and put aside our own wants and needs to help someone else.

Keep going. Keep helping. Keep loving, sharing and keep praying! You, my friend, are making a difference in this world and it is not in vain.
