Bible Verse of The Day – 9-11-24

2 Samuel 6:12 (NKJV) 12 Now it was told King David, saying, “The Lord has blessed the house of Obed-Edom and all that belongs to him, because of the ark of God.” So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom to the City of David with gladness.

In the days of the Old Testament, God’s presence dwelt wherever the Ark of the Covenant was kept.

It was encouraging for the Israelites but terrifying for Israel’s enemies.

In these days of God’s grace, His presence is still a blessing for His children.

Let us look more closely at this.

Today we no longer have the Ark that gets moved from place to place.

Instead, we have His Spirit.

We each have the choice as to whether to make our homes conducive and welcoming to God’s presence.

Consider this. God is holy. He cannot allow sin in His presence. Only the blood of Christ over us allows us to approach Him without fear and stand in His presence.

Our homes are different. They are not living and breathing as we are. They are simply a place where we dwell.

But we have the authority over our homes to decide what we allow to enter. And this matters more than most of us realize.

We are the gatekeepers. We say yes or no to everything that comes in.

We can allow things in that greatly displease God. Or we can keep them out.

This happens in more ways than we realize on a daily basis.

What we choose for entertainment is a major part of this. TV shows. Movies. Music. Social media posts, etc.

Their content either pleases God and brings honor to Him, or it displeases Him and pushes Him away.

It is up to us to carefully moderate what we choose to expose ourselves and the spirit of God to.

Does our home have an atmosphere that invites God’s presence? Is the Holy Spirit welcome?

Or is the atmosphere soiled by what we allow to come in, grieving the Holy Spirit and keeping Him at a distance?

God blesses us when we make Him welcome by putting forth the effort necessary to keep our home’s atmosphere clean. But He cannot bless us when we are willingly co-mingling with darkness daily.

Let us choose wisely, led by the Holy Spirit.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-9-23

Psalm 16:11 (NKJV) 11 You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

There is nothing that compares to being in God’s presence.

His presence brings joy, peace, hope and a sense of security that words can’t begin to describe.

The presence of God causes grown men and women to weep uncontrollably.

The presence of God causes His people to fall on their faces in repentance.

The presence of God brings healing to those who have been told they can’t be healed.

The presence of God makes whole those who believed they were irreparably broken.

The presence of God restores those who were thought to be unrestorable.

The presence of God fills a place with His incredible glory; a glory so heavy that it transcends human words.

His presence is something that so few truly ever encounter or experience.

But it is imperative that we do whatever is necessary to get in His presence, for it is there that He speaks to us in ways that we can’t even imagine.

Getting in His presence can be difficult for many.

Our lives are too busy. We think it’s not important. We don’t understand it. We don’t believe it can happen.

We may not even believe that His presence is something real.

But it is. And He is beckoning us to come to Him, right here and right now.

Will we shut out the noise? Will we turn off all the things that distract us and prevent us from entering His presence? Will we cast aside our unbelief? Will we deny ourselves and put Him first?

He is waiting right outside the door. Will we let Him in?

Revelation 3:20 (NKJV) 20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-17-19

Psalm 63:1 (NKJV) 1 O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water.

Look around today. How hard is it to find people that are truly happy?

How easy is it to find someone suffering?

How hard is it to find or make time to be with someone we love?

How costly it is to live these days?

And how perverted things have become?

We need more of God’s presence in our nations. We may see Him in some places, but most places are filled with anger, hunger, lust, self-centeredness and utter chaos.

Oh, how we thirst for Him in this place called earth!

Deuteronomy 13:4 (NKJV) 4 You shall walk after the Lord your God and fear Him, and keep His commandments and obey His voice; you shall serve Him and hold fast to Him.

Seek Him and hold dear to Him. Shine His light bright on the land in which we live. He is our God! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-10-16

Psalm 16:11 (NKJV) 11 You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Being in God’s presence is something that too few of us experience very often. Yet, it’s being in His presence that allows us to grow and mature as a believer.

It’s being in His presence that allows us to experience the fullness of His joy.

It’s being in His presence that shapes us and molds us into the person He wants us to become.

And it’s being in His presence that teaches us humility and the power of surrendering ourselves to Him.

Being in His presence doesn’t require us to be in a specific place, such as a church building, a prayer room or anywhere else special. It only requires that we shut out everything around us for a time and allow Him to speak to us as we minister to Him.

We can be alone, with nobody else around us. Or we can get alone with Him, even in the midst of others, and experience His presence.

In His presence, our lives are changed forever. In His presence we come to understand Him in ways we never thought possible.

And in His presence we find that peace that surpasses all understanding, that we can carry with us throughout our lives.

Once we’ve spent time in His presence, our lives should never, ever be the same again.
