Bible Verse of The Day – 6-20-18

John 11:35 (NKJV) 35 Jesus wept.

Jesus has a heart for people. He isn’t Someone that walked around here on earth and ignored the things He felt. He truly cared and still does. When we hurt, He hurts as well. When we suffer, He suffers with us.

We want you to know today that Jesus cares about you. When we are hurting, sad, depressed or even when we are happy, He cares about our well-being.

Sometimes we may think there is no one in this world that understands us or what it is we are going through. We may seclude ourselves and hide away, trying to keep to ourselves. But Jesus does know, without us saying a word.

So, in our loneliness we need to go to Him. He will understand. He will give us our answers and help us deal with whatever we’re going through.

Someone very close to me is going through a very hard place in their life. They did bring it on themselves by choices that they made. But even in that, Jesus will help them through as they go to Him and surrender themselves into His hands, and let Him lead them out of that hard place.

2 Corinthians 4:8 (NKJV) 8 We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair…

He cries too. Let Him help you today.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-9-18

1 John 4:19 (NKJV) 19 We love Him because He first loved us.

As believers, we may sometimes go through seasons where we feel like we’re in a rut. No matter what we do, it all just feels like a routine, a ritual, a mechanical repetition of what we know how to do.

We may even start to doubt our faith, as we begin to lose touch with God and as His presence seems to wane.

When this happens, the first thing we need to understand is that God has not gone anywhere. He is always near. He is always right where we left Him.

Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV) 10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

When we feel like this, it’s always something amiss on our end, not on His. It might be due to choices we’ve made. It might be due to things that have happened to us. It might be due to our lives being too busy. It might be due to many, many different things.

But there is one thing for sure, God never, ever leaves us. He is omnipotent, all powerful. He is omniscient, all-knowing. He is omnipresent, in all places at all times.

Our spiritual fatigue isn’t due to overworking our spirit. It’s due to undernourishment of our spirit. It’s due to lack of exercise for our spirit. It’s due to lack of knowledge in our spirit.

Hosea 4:6 (NKJV) 6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…

And, ultimately, it all comes down to one thing. We don’t fully understand or comprehend God’s love for us. If we did, we would never, ever struggle again in our walk with Him.

Once we begin to understand His love for us, really understand it, we will begin to fall so deeply in love with Him that nothing will be able to pry us away from Him. In fact, we will develop a longing to be closer to Him than we could ever imagine.

Our faith will grow. Our desire to pull closer and closer to Him will grow. And whatever doubts we have will slowly fade away.

If our spirit is hungry for Him, we need to feed it. But not with religion and tradition. We need to feed it with Him. His word. His presence. His joy. Giving Him thanks. And showing Him gratefulness for all that He has done for us.

Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-26-18

Ephesians 5:1-2 (NKJV) 1 Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. 2 And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.

These two verses are the sum of who we should be as children of God.

Though it is impossible to be 100% like God, He has told us to be imitators of Him in the way we act.

Jesus showed the world a kind of love that no one had ever seen. He put much time and effort into showing God’s love for people by walking it out in person. His love wasn’t fake or simulated. It was genuine.

And it was so pure that most could not understand or comprehend it. It was beyond their ability to make sense of it with human intellect.

Jesus loved to the point of giving His life for us. He spared no expense at proving this love. And when everything was said and done, He commanded us to love one another, even as He had loved us.

John 13:34 (NKJV) 34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.

So who are we to disagree or argue with God? How do we justify not loving others when Jesus himself has commanded us to do so?

We would find ourselves hard pressed to find a suitable excuse or justify our lack of love if we were to stand before Jesus and answer for that lack of love.

We all know that some people are harder to love than others. And some days it’s harder to love anyone than on other days.

But, with the Holy Spirit guiding us, and us obeying Him, our excuses drop like specks of dust in comparison to the love Jesus showed us all.

Church, let’s work hard to love the way God has told us to. It might be hard in the beginning, but as we let Him lead us, and we follow that leading, we will find it getting easier and easier.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-20-18

Ezekiel 36:26 (NKJV) 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

So many people have tried to make it in this life by doing things on their own and in their own way, doing whatever they please and loving it that way.

And yes, in some areas it may seem like they did pretty good on their own. But in other areas they dislike the way they handle themselves in their decision-making.

Their wanting to answer to no one has kept them from living a better life. It has kept them from knowing, and walking in, the greatest LOVE of all.

The good news, though, is that as long as we are breathing and still alive, we can change this in a heartbeat.

It doesn’t matter how old we are or how long we have lived this way. We can give up this stony heart and receive the heart that God has for us.

It is impossible to live this life without God and be truly happy and content.

The man who walks with a hard heart is miserably taunted, depressed and lonely. This man hurts in many ways, and he can’t fix it. He has assured himself many times, thinking this is all there is to life. The hardness of his own heart has determined his life and destiny.

When we walk with God, we are not perfect and our life isn’t perfect. But He takes our hard heart and softens it, and we become more like Him.

We care more; that right there is HUGE! That will make us change in so many ways. When we can take ourselves and put “us” aside, watch out!

We also begin to love bigger! What? Love bigger? That’s right, we begin to love someone and don’t even understand why. It just begins to take root in us and we just follow along. It’s a beautiful thing to experience.

When we walk with God, we walk in His blessings each day as we obey Him. We are happier and full of His JOY. No matter what comes our way, He will get us through it.

What a difference He makes when He touches our heart. Thank you God, we receive YOUR touch today! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-13-17

Ephesians 2:11 (NLT) 11 Don’t forget that you Gentiles used to be outsiders. You were called “uncircumcised heathens” by the Jews, who were proud of their circumcision, even though it affected only their bodies and not their hearts.

Our salvation in Christ was once something that nobody could even imagine, never mind comprehend it.

The Jews looked down upon anyone who wasn’t Jewish. Gentiles were outsiders. We weren’t worthy to think that we could ever approach God or be considered one of His children.

Little did anyone know, though, that God had a plan for us, to bring us into His kingdom and give us the opportunity to be called His children!

When Jesus breathed his last breath, the veil of the temple was torn in two, giving us direct access to the Father!

Mark 15:38 (NKJV) 38 Then the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.

The death of Jesus bought us, through the shedding of His blood, and we now have the opportunity to become His children.

John 1:12 (NKJV) 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name…

What an awesome God we serve, with unlimited compassion and unconditional love for us.

Consider this today, and let it put a smile on your face every time you think of it.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-16-17

John 11:35 (NKJV) 35 Jesus wept.

Why would Jesus weep?

Because He truly cares for you and I. His love and compassion are so deep for each one of us personally, He showed such love by serving.

How did He serve? He healed and delivered people constantly while He was here. He showed God’s compassion and mercy by forgiving people for their sins. And He ultimately gave His life for us all. He had a loving, caring servant’s heart.

Do we know anyone else who would go the distance that He went for us? Do we know any person that cared so much for our destiny that they made provision through the giving of their own life?

He doesn’t talk about us or look down at us because of our errors. But, instead, He wants to encourage us to keep trying, again and again. He will stand with us and help us through our weak moments. He is a true friend.

John 15:15 (NKJV) 15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.

What a wonderful friend we have in Jesus. He will stick with us through it all. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-4-17

1 Peter 1:18-19 (NKJV) 18 knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.

As I sit here this morning, I’m thinking about and meditating on how I have received my freedom, my Salvation.

I can’t even imagine what our Lord must have been thinking as He was being abused and brutally beaten for me. I can not comprehend in my mind what He was going through as He gave His life for me.

He did not pay someone off with gold or silver, but He bought our freedom with His life.

There is no love more precious than that.

1 John 4:19 (NKJV) 19 We love Him because He first loved us.

My heart is in love with how He loved us first, even in our sinful condition. He loved us first and paid for our freedom with His life on that cross over 2000 years ago.

Will we live the righteous life that He has for us? Will we walk in His obedience and follow His way?

Only we can answer that.

Step by step, and day by day, let us grow close to Him.

James 4:8(NKJV) 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-7-17

Proverbs 30:5 (NKJV) 5 Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.

As we sat down by the water early this morning and watched the sunrise over the ocean waters, I was reminded of how blessed we all are.

Looking around at such beauty every day is just one of the ways that God reminds us of His love for us. Every day we can open our eyes and see His creation. Every day we can feel His love. Every day we can know how much we mean to Him, as we just open our eyes and look around.

Children of God, we are a blessed people. Enjoy today. Praise Him in all that our eyes can see. His love for us is so strong. He cares greatly. We can see it everywhere.

Trust Him with our lives. He is faithful to shield and protect us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-7-17

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (NKJV) 4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never fails.

Love is powerful. It unites, builds and heals.

If your marriage, family or relationships, etc., are falling apart, it is love that will help fix them.

Life can take its toll on us all, and our hearts can get pretty cold and hard over different things we go through. We can point fingers and say it’s so and so’s fault. And it may seem like we get some relief by blaming others for it. But it won’t change it or make it any better.

If we want to fix things on our end, we truly need to give it to God. Let Him step in. He is an expert at loving and He will teach us how it’s done.

The love that God has doesn’t give up when things get uncomfortable, or because something didn’t turn out the way we thought. This love doesn’t stop when things get too hard and complicated. Instead, it gets stronger.

Jesus Christ was God’s example to us on how to walk in such love. He never gave up on us.

There may be times that, because of love, we have to take a strong stand about something. But if we do it out of love, and with the right motive, no matter how it looks we will win!

Don’t give up. LOVE never fails.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-29-16

1 Chronicles 16:8 (NKJV) 8 Oh, give thanks to the Lord! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples!

One of the most important things to know about Christ is that He loves us. He loves us no matter who we are, where we came from or what we have done.

He simply loves us just as we are.

Now, that in itself may just blow our minds, wondering how anyone could love like that. All the rotten things I’ve said and done in my life. How could anyone even want to be my friend or be close to me?

It’s a hard thing to try to understand and accept this great love. And many people will walk away and turn from Him, thinking that it can’t be true.

That’s why we are sharing this today. This love is great! This love is real! This LOVE comes from our Heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, His Son. It is a love like no other.

Can we thank the Lord today for loving us? Oh, how good He is!

Lord, we love YOU and we praise You! We lift up our voices to YOU, for great is our LORD! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-4-16

Romans 8:38-39 (NKJV) 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Tough times and the enemy of our soul will sometimes make us think that there is no way we can win… no way we can have victory in our walk with God.

Sometimes it can feel like we’re slipping away, ultimately heading toward an unsure destiny. But this is exactly what the enemy wants.

Know this: Nobody can steal your destiny, your eternal position with God. You are loved by Him with an immense, unexplainable love. End of story.

Think about this. God’s love is the only thing that is 100% unconditional.

There is nothing on this earth or in the heavens that can stop Him from loving you. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done or where you’ve come from. You are loved.

So as you face the obstacles in front of you, the accusations against you, the consequences for choices you’ve made, never, ever think that God’s love for you is somehow dependent on what you’ve done, what you’re doing or what you’re going to do.

Rest in knowing that His love for you is irrevocable and never-ending.

You Are Loved!
