Bible Verse of The Day – 5-23-24

1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NKJV) 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

As I sit out in my yard today, the fragrance of fresh, new blossoms fills the air.

The birds are chirping, singing a happy song. The sky is so blue, and the green of the trees, grass and shrubs is vibrant. I am in awe!

My heart shouts with praise, ”God is good!”

How often do we take the time to love and appreciate the things around us? Those things that are meant to bless us on that very day, at that very moment.

Imagine if God gave us a day such as this, a pretty day to help us face what we were going through. And we just got up in the morning and ran from the time our feet hit the floor until the time we went to bed, and never even got to enjoy His answer for that day.

I wonder how many of His answers we have missed because we don’t stop for a moment to recognize them.

How many answers are in those little things we take for granted every day?

Let our eyes be open today to His beauty all around us.

Let our ears hear the things that will calm our spirit.

Let our hearts take in His majesty, and let us sit at His feet to give Him thanks.

Those geese flying overhead making their honking sounds may just be what we need to calm our soul and help us hear what God may have been trying to tell us all along.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-30-24

Genesis 2:7 (NKJV) 7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

After our Lord God formed man, He then breathed the breath of life into mans nostrils, causing man to become a living being.

I think of this, and I must ask myself, who are we?

You and I are living beings, by the breath of Almighty God. Without His breath none of us would be here today

That alone should cause us to want to worship Him. He formed us and then He gave us life with His very own breath!

Think about it. If He had not formed man and breathed into him, we would not exist. None of us would be here.

This alone makes me drop to my knees and praise Him. Bless You Lord! How magnificent is our God.

1 Chronicles 16:36 (NKJV) 36 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel From everlasting to everlasting!

How great is our God.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-21-23

Genesis 2:7 (NKJV) 7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

The Biblical account of the creation of man is so beautiful!

When I read of how God made man, how He was so precise in what He did and how He did it, It leaves me in awe.

It all started with God forming man and then breathing into man’s nostrils the breath of life.

That breath of God brought man to life!

We didn’t evolve or come from apes. We came on day 6 of creation.

We were formed by Him. We were fearfully and wonderfully made in the beginning, when all things were created.

Psalm 139:14 (NKJV) 14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.

Don’t let people twist or distort what happened during those six days of creation.

Don’t let them plant doubt in your mind and cause questions to arise.

Know what the word of God says, and believe it. Hold onto it when people try to bring in their own theories or question what God says.

It’s very simple; God created the heavens, the earth, and every living creature, in six days. Human life began on day six, when Adam took his first God-given breath. Amen.

Thank you, Lord!

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-4-22

Genesis 1:1 (NKJV) 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

In the beginning God created the heavens and earth. The earth was without form. It was empty. His Spirit moved over the face of the waters.

There was nothing before day one. It was still and empty.

On the first day, God said, “Let there be light”, and He divided the light from the darkness. He called the light day and the darkness night. And the evening and morning were the first day.

On the second day, He divided the waters under the firmament from the waters above the firmament calling it heaven and earth.

When day three came He brought the water under the heavens together in one place, making the dry land appear.

He called the dry land, earth.

He gathered the waters together and called them sea. He also added grass, seed-yielding herbs and fruit-yielding trees to the land. Each yielded seeds according to its kind.

On Day four, He added lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide day from night.

These were also to be for signs and seasons, for the days and for the years. They were also placed in the heavens to give light onto earth.

He made two great lights; one to rule the day and the lesser light to rule at night. He also made the stars on this day as well.

Day five, He made the moving creatures in the waters and fowl that may fly above the earth. Also on that day, He made great whales, and every living creature that moves in the seas and every winged fowl after his kind.

Day six came. On that day God made the cattle, every creeping thing, beast of the earth after his kind. and cattle after their kind.

Also on the sixth day, God said, “let us make man in our image, after Our likeness, and let them have dominion” over everything.

He created them male and female in His image, saying “be fruitful, multiply and fill the earth.”

God gave us everything we needed. He provided every good thing for us and saw that it was very good.

Then, in Genesis 1:31 & 2:1, God saw everything that He made, and behold, it was very good. The heavens and the earth were finished!

We may not always remember the order in which everything was done. However, what is important to know and to remember is those three words, “it was finished”.

This means it was complete; nothing can be added to His creation or taken away from it. We had everything we needed from the beginning. It was all good!

Afterwards what did He do?

Gen 2:2 says that on the seventh day, God ended His work and rested.

In all of His magnificence, God created us and everything else that we need. And sometimes it’s good for us to be reminded.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-14-21

Psalm 66:4 (NKJV) 4 All the earth shall worship You And sing praises to You; They shall sing praises to Your name.” Selah

This morning, as I was in our kitchen and I was making a hot drink, we had our back door open.

While I was preparing my Chai, I could hear what sounded like an absolute symphony of birds, singing like there was no tomorrow!

I stopped and listened, in awe at the incredible sounds they were making.

There was one bird in particular that was standing out above the rest. Not so much because it was that much louder, but because of the type of call it had. It was absolutely beautiful to hear.

As I listened, I thought to myself, “I wonder what’s got that bird so happy”.

I ran a few ideas through my imagination, as if birds have the capability to think and reason, surmising that it could be this or that.

And then it hit me. His song was praising God, the Creator of heaven and earth.

Now, the bird may not have known this, since they are not highly intelligent, but that’s what it was doing; giving God glory for His creation and His provision.

Every note that it sang glorified God. Every individual bird song that I could hear was singing praises to God.

What an incredible world we live in. Yes, there is evil at play in the world. But when we consider how it formed and Who made it, and if we see it for what it is, we can’t help but see God in it and give Him glory for it, just as those birds were doing.

Look up, and look around, people of God! Watch and listen.

God is everywhere!

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-11-19

Psalm 24:10 (NKJV) 10 Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah

Sometimes it’s important to simply sit and contemplate God and who He is.

Our human minds can never completely comprehend Him and His ways, but when we ponder on Him it helps us to learn to revere Him and love Him even more than we do already.

There are many ways to learn to revere Him, but one of the best ways is to take notice of everything around us. God’s creation is one of the best examples of His workmanship. It’s raw and beautiful, and we can take it in without it being run through some of the filters that the world tells us we have to use when we look at ourselves.

You know. The man-made standards that we tend to apply to ourselves when we see ourselves in the mirror that make us think about who we’d rather be, instead of who God has made us to be.

God doesn’t need Photoshop to make His creation look beautiful. It already is beautiful and breathtaking. It speaks volumes about His majesty and His glory.

And even though we humans are full of flaws when it comes to our behavior, the wonders of the human body far outweigh our selfish, terrible actions if we can find it in ourselves to look past all of the ugliness in the things we say and do at times.

Sit. Kneel. Lay on your face. It doesn’t matter how we do it. The important thing is that we do it; we take time to recognize the King of glory and give Him the love and reverence due Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-21-18

Genesis 1:1 (NKJV) 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

A short while back, we were heading home from an appointment. We decided to take the scenic route and just enjoy the sights.

The trees were starting to pop, as leaves were changing color and the smells of fall were all around us. The road we were on was full of twists and turns. We passed fields, ponds and a horseshoe-shaped waterfall. The view was absolutely beautiful!

We don’t normally take the back roads. But this was one of those days when we did something a little different than the norm.

Sometimes it’s nice to just do something on the spur of the moment; something spontaneous.

We can all get pretty routine-oriented at times, doing the same exact thing every day, going the same route, and sticking to the same schedule.

I wonder at times what we may be missing out on by doing the same things over and over again.

Changing things up a bit allowed us to see some wonderful sights. God is good!

We can only imagine our heavenly Daddy smiling down as He watched and heard our excitement over His creation. “Oh, look at that and look over here! Wow, look at that color.” We were like little kids seeing it for the first time.

Have fun today. Look around and take in God’s beauty. Mix things up a little and enjoy the blessings from our Heavenly Father!

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-19-18

Psalm 147:4 (NKJV) 4 He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name.

God is a miraculous God. His creation is an awe-inspiring work that gives us all a small glimpse into His incredible nature.

Science may appear to conflict with what God says and does if we don’t look a little deeper and consider what is really going on.

God’s word says that He created all that we see; the skies, the earth, the planets, the stars, the oceans and so much more.

Science, on a large scale, denies that God created any of this. They believe any number of random theories as to how we came to be.

Oddly, though, science relies on various principles, rules and laws that state very specific absolutes. They will tell us that these rules and absolutes are the foundation of everything we see.

They will also quickly remind us that these absolutes keep everything together and working properly.

And, then in the next breath, science will try to convince us that everything we see just came to be by chance, with no Creator. It just happened. There was chaos. And then there was suddenly this incredible creation that operates on these extremely precise laws and absolutes.

And they are right in one sense. Everything does operate on a very precise set of laws and absolutes.

As a few examples, consider the position of the earth in relation to the sun and the moon. We are perfectly positioned when it comes to our distance from the sun, and even tilted at the perfect angle.

If we were closer, we would burn up. If we were further away, we would freeze.

Consider also, DNA. DNA is extremely complex. No two beings have the exact same DNA. Our DNA has everything about us built into it. It determines our sex, our skin color, our hair color, the color of our eyes, our personality type and so much more.

And despite all of its complexities, and the fact that there are billions of people alive, as well as billions of others who have lived before us, no two people have had the same DNA, ever.

It’s irrational to think that the laws and absolutes of science came to be by random chance. It’s not possible. Instead, it’s important to understand that the very laws followed by scientists were created and set in motion by the same God that so many of them have trouble believing exists.

Job 5:9 (NKJV) 9 Who does great things, and unsearchable, Marvelous things without number.

So, if some of the debates and arguments regarding science and God have ever made you wonder, we hope this will shed some light on the realities of the hows and whys of the incredible God we serve.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-17-18

Psalm 139:14 (NKJV) 14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.

Do you wrestle with phobias and fears?

Do you struggle with a fear of germs and bacteria that causes you to be constantly stressed about sicknesses and diseases affecting you?

There are millions and millions of people who struggle with these kinds of fears. And we have God’s solution for you.

The verse above tells us that we are fearfully and wonderfully made.

At first glance this might not seem very significant. But we need to understand that those few words tell us how incredibly made we are and they hint at God’s perfection, even in His creation of us.

God made us intricately and with great attention to detail. Everything about us is a complete wonder.

Check out this translation that might help shed some light on it a little better.

Psalm 139:14 (NLT) 14 Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.

We are wonderfully complex! And if we were to take a bit of time and ponder on the complexity of how God made us, so many of our fears would disappear because we would get an understanding of the awesomeness of the human body.

He made us in a way that allows our bodies to protect themselves from so many of the germs and sicknesses that we live in fear of! We have a built-in self-protection mechanism called the immune system that is a miracle in itself.

We all know this. But some of us have forgotten or ignored it because we have been under attack by the enemy. And our minds have become our own worst enemy, causing us to doubt God’s abilities and how wonderfully He made us.

There’s no need for us to live in fear, doubting God and His creation of us. He is a God of perfection in everything he does. He doesn’t make mistakes. His works are beyond human comprehension.

It is our faith and trust in Him that drives fears away. Don’t mistake this as a message accusing you of not having faith if you suffer from these kinds of fears. It’s not.

But it’s a reminder that He is above all things and that our faith in Him is the beginning of our deliverance from fear.

So, we challenge you today to open up and let God begin to silence those fears as you begin to get understanding as to Who made you and who He created you to be; you are fearfully and wonderfully made.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-29-18

Genesis 1:1 (NKJV) 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

God created it! It was His design and His creation.

We don’t need to explore or entertain any other scientific ideas. We don’t need scientific proof. It is what it is right from the beginning. This world is God’s creation! If we want answers, we need to go to Him. Amen.

It’s a very beautiful creation at that. Some days as I work from my home, I sit outside in my back yard and just listen and look around. And I am always in awe of what I hear and see; amazing sights and sounds.

I wonder sometimes, if our job and our work wasn’t in the picture, would we be praising God more often than the norm?

I don’t like to take anything for granted, because I know that when God was creating this world, He was thinking of us.

So, enjoy what is around us. It is not there by mistake. It was done on purpose for each one of us!! Make it personal. God was thinking of you when He created the Heaven and the Earth!

He loves you.
