Bible Verse of The Day – 7-3-18

Luke 6:35 (NKJV) 35 But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil.

There have been a lot of things that God has taught me and that He has used to set me free. One of the things I have learned that has helped me to get free during the past few years is not to expect things from others.

I don’t expect people to know how I feel. I don’t expect people to treat me a certain way. I don’t expect things to go my way. And I don’t expect people to give back to me what I have given to them.

I just don’t expect anything, and with this came a great peace. This simple little change in me has literally set me free from a lot of things that could have hurt me, leaving scars, disappointments and an aching heart.

Instead of expecting, I have learned to turn that around and give more of myself and do more with the gifts that God has blessed me with. It has brought me great JOY and more satisfaction than I could have ever dreamed.

Expectations can ruin wonderful relationships. Get free today from this way of thinking and learn to be who you were created to be. Enjoy your life and relationships with those that come your way.

Keep going, and do what is in your heart to do, with no expectations of anything in return. Your life will be so much better.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-6-18

1 Timothy 1:15 (NKJV) 15 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.

As we read this verse, it’s important that we apply it to ourselves, despite the fact that it was written by the apostle Paul.

We’ve all done things that we’re not proud of. Some may be “small” and others not so small. But sin is sin in God’s eyes. It’s important that we also view it as such.

You and I all stand guilty; each and every one of us. And short of God’s redemption through Jesus, we all stand condemned.

But Jesus came to set us free from our sins and the condemnation that comes with that sin.

Ephesians 1:7 (NKJV) 7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace…

Thank you, God, for setting me, the worst of sinners, free through the blood of Jesus, without Whom I would be eternally lost and without hope. You have taken me from darkness, into your eternal light. Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-3-18

John 8:36 (NKJV) 36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

True freedom in Christ is something that most of us have a hard time comprehending and walking out in our lives.

It’s a hard thing for us to grasp, being free… truly free.

Freedom has many different facets. It probably means different things to different people. But no matter what it might mean to you or someone else, Jesus wants us to walk in freedom each and every day.

To most people, when we think of freedom in Christ, we think of the fact that our faith in Jesus has set us free from eternal separation from God.

While that’s true, here’s what freedom really means in a deeper sense.

Freedom from death, with new life in Christ. Freedom from condemnation with God’s forgiveness. Freedom from guilt, with God’s mercy. Freedom from worrying, with God’s provision. Freedom from shame, with God’s grace. Freedom from sadness and depression, with God’s joy.

And there are so many other ways that God sets us free in Christ. But it’s important that we understand that freedom is not limited just to being forgiven for our sins. Freedom encompasses every aspect of our lives if we let it.

It’s up to us to let God teach us and show us how to live in this incredible freedom. Because if we don’t let Him teach us, we live in ignorance, carrying burdens that He never intended for us to carry.

Matthew 11:29-30 (NKJV) 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-23-17

John 8:32 (NKJV) 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Truth is a funny thing. We all claim to want to know the truth about so many things. But sometimes when we actually know the truth, it can be hurtful and hard to swallow.

But, once we know the truth, we can move toward dealing with it and moving beyond it. Then and only then can we be free of the things that hurt us.

But there is another Truth that sets us free. His name is Jesus.

Jesus said that He is “the way, the truth, and the life“.

John 14:6 (NKJV) 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

In the natural realm, the words and actions of others hurt us and cause us to live in bondage. But Jesus, who is the Truth, brings complete, lifelong, eternal freedom from every form of captivity.

You see, Jesus doesn’t just show us why we’re hurting. He also provides healing and deliverance from those very things and He teaches us how to live free.

His freedom is true and everlasting, unlike anything the world offers us. It isn’t based on self help or some kind of program. It doesn’t rely on an organization to make it happen. And it isn’t dependent on a leader or other person to administer it properly.

Jesus goes right to the source and touches those places deep inside of us where the wounds are deep and festering. And His touch brings the healing needed to set us free once and for all.

So we encourage you to embrace the Truth. And walk in the freedom that Jesus died to give us all.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-6-17

John 8:36 (NKJV) 36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

True freedom can only be found in one source; Jesus Christ.

If you have put your faith and trust in Jesus, you are free. Period. You can’t get anymore free than to be a child of the King and a joint heir with Christ!

The enemy will try to convince us that we are still in chains, bound by our sins, past and present. But the truth is that Jesus breaks the chains, once and for all.

So if we’re feeling condemned, stuck, bound, discouraged, or any other things that might try to keep us from moving forward with God, we need to remember Who it is that we are placing our faith and hope in.

He died for all of us, and His completed work is all we need to overcome death, hell and the grave, now and for eternity.

Romans 6:10 (NKJV) 10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.

So lift your head. Look to heaven and thank Him for all He has done and all He is still going to do for you.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-20-17

John 3:17(NKJV) 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

There is freedom in God. He has made it so!

We shouldn’t feel condemned when we think of Him. We should not ever be afraid to go to Him.

He loves us and He would do anything to get us into a place of peace, joy and rest. He brings stability in our lives. He brings strength, focus and determination.

If we are feeling fear or condemnation today, we can be set free from them this very moment if we don’t run from Him, but instead we run to Him.

Let us pray.

Dear God,

Our beautiful heavenly Father, we come to You today in the precious name of Your Son, Jesus Christ. We ask for Your peace, joy and rest today. Give us Your wisdom and strength to make the right moves in our lives.

Please help us to stand with the right people, in the right places and listen to You carefully, when it is time to let go and move on.

Thank You, Father, for caring about our every move.

In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-23-16

Luke 4:18 (NKJV) 18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed;

Liberty for the captives. That’s one of the things Jesus proclaimed He came to earth for.

And yet, so many people today are in captivity, bondage to so many things.

Drugs, alcohol, lust, adultery, fornication, pornography, tobacco, bitterness, unforgiveness, envy, strife, demonic spirits and a very long list of other things that could be named are all things that we need to be set free from.

These are the very things that Jesus was talking about; the very things He set people free from when He walked the earth.

And that freedom is still available to us today. We just have to want it and seek it!

So if you’re in captivity to anything, including the things listed above, stop what you’re doing, right now, and reach out for help!

Get free today! Don’t wait any longer. Every day that goes by is another day that you could be living in freedom, not in bondage.

Jesus Christ is able to break the chains that bind you. He is able to set you free, to live the rest of your days as a free man or free woman, not as a slave to the things that bind you and hold you prisoner.

God is waiting. He’s reaching out to you. Turn and run toward Him. Let Him embrace you and set you free today.

Today is the day!

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-22-16

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV) 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Do you have things in your past that you’re not proud of? Do those things sometimes try to come back to torment you or remind you of who you used to be, before you put your faith in Christ?

Sometimes those things can really work on our minds, trying to make us feel guilty, condemned or worthless. They can even make us feel like we’re at risk of missing out on eternity with our heavenly Father.

But don’t listen to any of it! These are lies from the enemy. He will play games with our minds, trying to make us believe that we’re never going to live up to God’s standards. He will make us feel like less than we are as children of God.

But we’re here to remind you today, right this minute, that you’re free, in the name of Jesus.

You’re free from guilt. You’re free from condemnation. You’re free from death, hell and the grave.

Jesus made sure of this when He took our place on the cross, dying a cruel death. And He sealed the deal when He rose from the grave on the 3rd day.

So don’t let the whispers of the enemy torment you any longer. Turn your back on him and walk away, once and for all. Remind yourself that you have been bought and paid for with the blood of Jesus, Immanuel, God with us.

John 8:36 (NKJV) 36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

Go! And be free in the name of Jesus!

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-6-16

John 8:36 (NKJV) 36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

Prisons aren’t nice places.

They are full of people who have broken laws and committed crimes of various types. Some are bad, while others are very, very bad. You might even use the word “heinous” to describe some of these crimes. Some of them are unspeakable in their atrocity.

As the criminals in a jail are imprisoned, so can we also be imprisoned by our own sins, our past and our wounds.

Sometimes we are imprisoned by the things others have done to us, not the things we have done to them. People can be hurtful. Sometimes it’s intentional. Sometimes it’s unintentional. Either way, it hurts.

And if we hold onto that hurt, it holds us in a prison of pain and anger. And if we don’t forgive them and let it go, we can also become prisoners of unforgiveness, bitterness and hatred toward them.

This is a deep, dark prison cell that can slowly eat us up and destroy us, if we let it.

But Jesus came and died to set us free from this prison! He came to set free those who are in prison cells of unforgiveness, bitterness, hatred, anger and so much more.

He’s holding out His hand today. And in His hand is the key that unlocks the prison door. That key can set us free from the prison we’re in.

He’s offering it to us. Will we take it? Will we let Him set us free?

It’s up to us. It’s our choice and our decision. Reach out and take it!

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-29-15

John 8:36 (NKJV) 36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

Jesus came to set us free.

He died and rose again to set us free from sin, sickness, death and much more.

If we have put our faith in Christ, we don’t need to live as slaves to sin.

Sin doesn’t have to have power over us. And the only way that it will have power over us is if we let it.

Every day we will be tempted with things that can cause us to sin. Lust, theft, gossip, lying, adultery, fornication and a whole list of other things that can come our way at any moment.

But we don’t have to give in to those things. We can walk away from them. We just have to want to. We have to want to do the right thing. We have to want to make the right choice. We have to want to please God instead of pleasing our fleshly desires.

And if we truly want to do the right thing, God will give us the strength to do it.

It won’t always be easy, and there will be times when we mess up. But if our heart is in the right place, and we make a genuine effort to turn our lives around and live a godly life, God will honor that effort.

And, over time, we will find ourselves making way more right choices than wrong ones.
