Bible Verse of The Day – 10-25-18

Romans 8:15 (NKJV) 15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”

Fear is something that many people wrestle with on various levels.

There are many different types of fear. And people can be fearful for many different reasons.

In the end, it really doesn’t matter what it is that we’re afraid of. What really matters is that we face our fears and let God help us conquer them.

We can’t usually beat them on our own. We need God’s help. And He helps us in so many different ways.

Sometimes He simply shows us that our fears are unfounded and are based solely on something we have imagined in our minds.

Other times, He shows us why we’re fearful. And then He teaches us why we don’t need to be afraid.

Still, other times, he will put us face to face with whatever it is that we’re afraid of. And then He will walk us through the difficult process of not only staring that fear in the face, but pushing it back and defeating it once and for all.

Just as each of us is different and unique, so God will also help each of us face and defeat our fears in a way that He knows will truly help us win whatever battle we are fighting with fear.

Why does He do this? Because He has adopted us as His own children. And as our heavenly Father, He wants us to live our lives confident in Him, not running from everything that we come up against.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-27-18

Luke 12:6-7 (NKJV) 6 “Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God. 7 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

Are we afraid today?

Are we fearful about where we are going to live, or where are we going to work?

Are we fearing that we may never marry and have children? Are we fearful about our spouse or our children?

Are we fearful about our own health, etc.?

Today is our day to let go of the fears. That’s right; let them Go!

We were not made to walk in fear of things or situations. We are not expected to carry these burdens alone.

God has not forgotten us. He knows everything that is going on around us and in our lives today.

Don’t fret. Let it go, into the hands of God Almighty, and let Him bring restoration to you.

Isaiah 44:24 (NKJV) 24 Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, And He who formed you from the womb: “I am the Lord, who makes all things, Who stretches out the heavens all alone, Who spreads abroad the earth by Myself…

We are safe. Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-7-18

Joshua 1:9 (NKJV) 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

There are a lot of intimidating people and situations in this world that we may have to deal with from time to time, and it’s not always easy. Sometimes we will find ourselves panicking because we are not sure what steps to take in handling it properly.

When we panic it causes us to become stressed and anxious. It can exhaust us to the point where we are tired and we may even get depressed. We are worn out and can’t do a thing. We feel we have lost control.

The enemy loves when we reach this point. He thinks he has us eating out of the palm of his hand. This is how he tries to defeat us, as long as we follow along.

As soon as we begin to feel stress and anxiety trying to kick in and take over, that is when we need to be strong, not be afraid, and do our best to resist it. How? We stop letting it control us, and we realize where the attack is coming from. And we say NO!

James 4:7 (NKJV) 7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

The quicker we pick up on the attack against us, the better our days will be. We can’t let the enemy defeat us.

Be strong, rebuke him in Jesus’ name and enjoy your day. God is with you!

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-3-17

Exodus 33:14 (NKJV) 14 And He said, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

A person that has to have control over everything will never find rest.

Someone with this mindset will think that they cannot live without knowing from one minute to the next that they have it all under control. If they could do everything in this world themselves, they would. And they would love it!

They don’t want to have to rely on anyone but themselves to get things done. And honestly, they really think they can handle it all on their own. They don’t need anyone; no help, no advice, no suggestions, because they really, truly believe they’ve got it all under control.

They don’t like when change comes. They work hard at trying to keep things going the same way all the time, correctly and smoothly, with NO disturbances or blemishes, as they might call them.

When something goes wrong, fear instantly grips them and they freeze. Their whole being goes blank and every insecure feeling hits them all at once. Once they realize they’ve lost control, having no idea how to handle this situation, they begin to lash out in anger and frustration.

They are quick to snap at others, saying things that are degrading and hurtful to anyone around them, and blaming them for everything that has happened. They have no remorse about the things they are saying. They are out of control, and can’t see that their troubles are because of the position they put themselves in, always trying to do it all on their own.

Fear is at the root of a controlling person’s problems. We are literally afraid of the unknown, that is, not knowing if we can fix a problem or not. We are afraid of what can go wrong. We try our hardest to control it to go exactly the way we think it should, even if it means we do everything ourselves, even to the point that we are run down, exhausted, and sick.

Rebuke fear today in Jesus’ Name. It’s alright if we don’t know what to do sometimes. It’s OK to have people help, even if they don’t do it the way we think it has to be done.

It’s time to let God lead. We are not in control, no matter how much we want to believe we are. In a matter of seconds everything can change for us. There is only ONE who has everything in control. Rest in Him today.

Dear God in Heaven,

Precious are You to forgive me for my sin. Today I come to You and ask for Your forgiveness for trying to have control over everything to the point where I have pushed people away, hurt people, and have said and done mean things to those that have tried to help me. Please forgive me, in Jesus’ name I ask.

I want this rest that You offer to me. I give up on trying to do everything myself and I ask that You bring in the right people around me to help. I lay down the stress that it has caused me, and I pick up the peace that comes with resting in You.

Thank you, Lord. I give You all the praise for teaching me how to live, and to live life more abundantly each day. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-21-17

2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV) 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Fear is a terrible thing. It can wreak havoc with our lives if it is left unchecked and allowed to dominate.

Fear clashes with our faith and attempts to derail it, rendering us motionless and unable to function.

Fear paralyzes us. Fear is the opposite of faith.

Faith gives us freedom to pursue God’s call on our lives and complete the tasks He sets before us to complete.

Faith overcomes fear. Faith empowers us.

True faith will push us closer to God. Fear will push us away.

So how do we overcome fear and grow our faith?

First, we have to recognize fear. And then we have to kick it out of our lives, by the authority of the name of Jesus Christ!

If you struggle with fear, here’s how you can give fear the boot and send it packing. Rebuke it in the name of Jesus. It’s not complicated. It doesn’t require you to have anyone else pray for you or lay hands on you. Just say something like this, out loud:

Fear, I rebuke you and command you to go, in the name of Jesus! Release me. I forbid you from operating against me again.

It really is that simple. If we are believers, we have authority in Jesus’ name. Spirits of fear (and other evil spirits) have no choice but to leave when we command them to do so in the name of Jesus.

So give fear the boot and let Jesus make you free from fear for the rest of your life.

Your life will be forever changed.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-24-17

Isaiah 41:13 (NKJV) 13 For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.’

Do you struggle with being afraid?

Some people fear the unknown. Others fear what people think of them. Some may fear being a failure. Others might be fearful of being alone. And there are so many other things that people fear.

Fear is not of God. Fear is a tool of the enemy to try to cripple us and render us spiritually handicapped. In many cases, fear can also cause us to be emotionally handicapped, afraid to do anything at all.

We are here to tell you today that fear does not have to control you or have dominion over you! Fear has only as much power in your life as you give it.

We know that saying this is easy, but overcoming and destroying the fear in your life can be very daunting, especially if you try to conquer it on your own.

But, you want to know something? You don’t need to face it alone. Not even for one second. First, God placed people around you to help you. And even better, He wants to help you defeat fear in your life with His help!

If we are in Christ, then we have the Spirit of God dwelling in us. And He can never be overcome. Therefore, if He is in us, then we have nothing to fear!

1 John 4:4 (NKJV) 4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

And because you have Christ in you, you are more than a conqueror. You are an overcomer; an overcomer of fear. A bold, courageous warrior who can defeat the spirit of fear that is trying to overtake you.

Romans 8:37 (NKJV) 37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

Rise up, in the name of Jesus! Shake off the fear. Leave it right there and never look back!

We proclaim that you are courageous, by the blood of Christ who died and was raised again to defeat the enemy once and for all.

Go forward!

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-2-16

Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV) 10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

Fear is very strong. It can be a life-changing problem for some people, if it is not overcome and put in its place.

God has never intended for any of us to live in fear of anything. Yes, there are things we should fear, in a healthy kind of way. But living in fear is not what God wants for us.

So how do we overcome fear and move forward with our lives?

First, we need to understand what we’re fearing. Most times we’re fearing something that has no power over us whatsoever. What do I mean by that? Let me explain.

We typically fear things that aren’t even in existence, such as possible scenarios, possible outcomes or possible results. These types of things can cause us to worry and be fearful.

Here’s what Jesus said about this:

Matthew 6:25-27 (NKJV) 25 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

Sometimes we can be harassed or tormented by a spirit of fear. This is demonic in nature. Once we understand that this is what’s bothering us, we need to rebuke that spirit, in the name of Jesus. We have the authority, as a believer, to command it to leave. And it has to listen.

2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV) 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

But whatever it is that’s causing us to be fearful, we need to recognize it and do whatever is necessary to deal with it, putting it behind us and moving forward with God’s authority, strength, joy and peace.

It can take time to overcome fear completely. But it is possible, through Christ.

Today, look that thing in the face that’s causing you to be fearful. Speak to it and tell it that you will no longer live under it. And push it aside, in the name of Jesus. Victory is yours.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-25-16

Psalm 27:1 (NKJV) 27 The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?

Fear is something that we all deal with at different times in our lives. It’s something that comes in various forms and to varying degrees for each of us.

We all fear different things. Some fear being alone. Some fear being in poverty. Some fear sickness and disease. Some fear rejection. The list can be lengthy.

Fear is not from God. It comes from the enemy of our soul. It can come in subtle ways or it can be blatant and in our face.

As we walk through life, we can face so many things that can cause us to fear. Sometimes these things can grip us and tear our emotions to pieces, causing us to feel like ships tossed about on angry ocean waves in the midst of a terrible storm.

But we’re here to tell you that we do not have to be afraid! Yes, some things are hard to deal with and they can seem terrible as we face them. But God is with us. He is by our side. So no matter what we face, He will bring us through.

Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV) 10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

There may be times when it feels like we’re being torn apart by the storm, but God is our anchor. He is our deliverer. He is the rock upon which our lives stand firm.

Psalm 27:5 (NKJV) 5 For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock.

So in the midst of your own personal storm, cry out to Him. Cling to Him. And rejoice in His strength and His faithfulness.

And stand firm in your faith. No storm lasts forever.

Bible verse of The Day – 12-9-15

Romans 8:38-39 (NKJV) 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

It seems that the world has been turned upside down in the last few years.

Not everyone agrees on exactly what the cause might be, but everyone can agree that the world is a different place than it was even just 10 – 15 years ago.

Seeing everything that’s happening with terrorism, civil unrest in so many countries and economic upheaval across the globe can cause us to live in fear, if we’re not careful.

But as we press in and draw near to God, we can rest assured that no matter what happens, nothing can pull us away from God and His love for us.

James 4:8 (NKJV) 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you…

So if fear tries to grip you, or if you begin to doubt that God is still in control, remember that He never changes, and He will never leave us or forsake us.

Malachi 3:6 (NKJV) 6 “For I am the Lord, I do not change…

Deuteronomy 31:6 (NKJV) 6 Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”

Trust Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-27-15

2 Corinthians 12:9 (NKJV) 9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

We all go through struggles. Some of those struggles can be pretty scary.

Medical stuff can be the scariest. We hear certain words and our minds instantly think of the worst case scenario.

Some would dare to tell us that if we get scared that our faith is weak or that we lack faith altogether. But this is nonsense.

If we never got scared, if we were always strong and we could handle everything that comes our way ourselves, we would have no need for God, our Healer and our Provider.

It’s in our weakness that His strength is made perfect. It’s in those dark moments of weakness in our flesh that He shines. It’s in those times of desperation that we see our need for Him the clearest.

He is everything that we need. He is our source, in times of plenty and in times of lack or need.

Psalm 73:26 (NKJV) 26 My flesh and my heart fail; But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

So if you’re facing seemingly impossible circumstances today, lift up your head and look to Him. If you’re scared or unsure of how everything might turn out, trust Him with everything in you.

We might not be able to handle the things we face. But He can.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-8-15

2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV) 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

The enemy loves to bully us and taunt us with FEAR. Because fear makes us look weak.

How do we stop being fearful of something?

We do the very opposite of what fear normally causes us to do. We FACE it and we get victory over it.

Not on our own, but with God’s help and assistance.

Romans 8:31 (NKJV) 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

God is for us and we can win over this fear that we’re battling.

Fear has to go. There are some that are afraid of speaking up at times. There are some that are afraid of stepping out. There are some today that are afraid and intimidated by their own children, their spouse, friends, Pastor, boss, or teacher.

The only way to win is to face it and deal with it so we can put it behind us.

How?

For example, if we are afraid of the dark, then we should leave the lights off and get used to it. It might be very uncomfortable at first, but that discomfort will decrease with time.

If we are afraid to speak up at times, make it a point to speak up as much as we need to, whenever we need to. We may get nervous and even have trouble getting our words out at first. But the more we speak up, the easier it will become.

If we are afraid to be around certain people because they intimidate us, then go around them as much as we can until we are no longer intimidated by them, etc.

God will help us get free from fear as we face it.
