Bible Verse of The Day – 11-1-24

Romans 8:22 (LSB) 22 For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now.

As we all watch the events of the world, it is impossible not to see the blatant increase in evil.

It seems that each day we are confronted with something new, almost like the devil himself wagging his finger in our faces, saying, “I dare you to try and stop me”.

As members of the body of Christ, it should be impossible for us not to see these things.

The Holy Spirit dwelling in us should make it easy to see truth amid the onslaught of attempted deceptions.

Even the earth is groaning with the weight of it, as we see global upheavals of epic proportions with unparalleled storms, earthquakes, volcanic activity, and much more.

The earth knows that things are terribly wrong. Not because the earth is a being or has consciousness, as some would try to lead us to believe.

But because the earth and everything in it was created to be subject to the Creator.

Jesus alluded to this as the Pharisees tried to silence the crowds who were praising God upon His entrance into Jerusalem just prior to His crucifixion and death on the cross.

Luke 19:40 (LSB) 40 But Jesus answered and said, “I tell you, if these were silent, the stones will cry out!”

So, let us not be confused or bewildered by what is happening. We are witnessing God’s word being played out before our eyes.

Now is not the time for us to be fearful, but to draw closer to Him than we have ever drawn before. To press in more tightly than at any point in our lives. And to listen more intently for His voice than at any time in our lives.

And to obey His leading in all that we do.

In this we will find our solace, and the peace that surpasses all understanding.

Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-27-24

Revelation 22:20 (NKJV) 20 He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!

Evil is running rampant on a global scale, at levels that have not been known for centuries.

Pray, saints of God.

Pray that God’s will be done on the earth.

Pray that the evil be exposed by God’s pure light.

Pray that those who are under the influence of the enemy will fall to their knees and repent before Him.

Pray that those who do not know God will be awakened by what they see, and will recognize their own sinful condition and repent, seeking His forgiveness and redemption.

Pray that God’s righteous judgment will be executed in His perfect timing.

Pray for the saints around the globe to be strengthened and stand boldly in their faith.

Pray for strength for those who are being persecuted.

And pray that we, each individual believer, will not shrink back when facing difficult situations and hard choices, but will rely on the Holy Spirit to guide each step taken.

The time is near, and drawing closer.

Even so, come Lord Jesus.

Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-13-23

Romans 1:26-27 (NKJV) 26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

We are literally watching these verses play out right before our eyes.

Evil is rampant in so many places across the globe now. You may see different aspects of it in different geographical regions. One region may show different signs of it than others; different types of sin in grotesque amounts.

But regardless of which sin is dominating an area, it is at levels that none of us have ever seen.

Sexual sins are at the top of the list in many areas. Sexual perversions of many types are out in the open for all to see. There is no longer any shame.

While we are watching these sexual perversions multiply exponentially, we need to keep in mind that we were forewarned that this would happen.

And as it plays out, it is a good reminder of the faithfulness of God, as He told us of these things to come.

Despite the frustration and feelings of disgust that we experience as we watch it, it’s good for us to look at it through the lens of Biblical prophecy, knowing that what God has foretold is playing out.

His sovereignty and His faithfulness in everything are undeniable, forever and ever.

Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-21-22

James 4:8 (NKJV) 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

As we ended yesterday’s devotional, we were discussing the interpretation of a dream that a reader had shared with us.

To recap quickly, the interpretation of his dream indicated that he wanted to draw close to God, but his fixation on the evil that he is seeing happen in the world was creating a divide between him and God.

Let’s talk about that a bit.

What he is experiencing is an easy problem for any of us to fall into, especially if we are acutely aware of all that is happening and we have a strong desire to see justice.

This can also happen if we immerse ourselves in these types of events, spending a lot of our time watching and reading about it. Social media can be a huge culprit for this.

But we need to turn our eyes toward God and focus on Him, and let go of the things of this world (the weeds that the reader was clinging to in his dream).

We need to trust God enough to put Him first and loosen our grip on the things of the natural world that we wrestle with; those things that will put space between us and Him.

This is not always easy. Sometimes, for some, it can be downright difficult.

But this is why it’s so critically important to diligently seek God daily, praying and spending time in His word. This is where we will find answers, and where we will build our faith and trust in Him.

And it’s where we will see our fears laid to rest as that faith grows.

Consider Joseph; beaten up by his brothers and then sold into slavery. On top of all that, he was ultimately put in prison for crimes he did not commit.

But he stayed faithful to God, using the talents that God had given him to run Potiphar’s household faithfully.

Even in prison, he was exemplary in his behavior, leading to him being placed in charge over all the prisoners.

And God ultimately rewarded him for it.

Also consider Daniel, who was exiled to a foreign land and forced to work for a king in that land.

Daniel submitted to God and served that king well. Again, God rewarded him for it.

Let us seek God diligently and let the Holy Spirit lead our actions, that we may also honor God in them.

We encourage everyone to press into God like you’ve never done before. The times in which we are living demand it.

We love you all.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-20-22

Psalm 73:28 (NKJV) 28 But it is good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord God, That I may declare all Your works.

When we left off yesterday, we were discussing the current state of the world and how the things we’re seeing can impact us.

We recently had a reader write to us to share his heart and tell us how he has been struggling with what he’s seeing unfold. He also wanted to ask a question or two.

He has also written to us in the past, expressing his sadness and frustration with what we are witnessing; the rise and the expansion of evil.

Like many of us, he has grown increasingly disheartened with it all.

In his heart, he wants to see something done to correct it.

He can’t fathom that evil at these levels has gone unchecked and unpunished by each nation’s justice systems. This is natural. None of us likes to see evil thrive.

In a recent email to us, he shared a little piece of a dream that he’d had.

He didn’t ask us for an interpretation. He didn’t really even ask if we had any feedback for him about the dream. He just told us about it as part of the email that he had sent.

After reading it, it stayed in the back of my mind. And one day not too long ago, God showed me what it meant.

First, here is the part of the dream that he shared; “I have had a dream in which I just want to hold onto the gate or the weeds outside of heaven”.

Now, here is what God showed me that it meant.

Him holding onto the gate, or the weeds outside of the gates of heaven, shows that he wants to trust God and enter in to His presence. This is indicated in the fact that he is immediately outside of heaven. He is at the “entrance”.

He’s close to where God is, but hesitant to let go of the weeds and enter in.

His heart’s desire is to be close to God, hence being right outside of the gates.

But he has a strong desire to see justice in the natural world. This is represented by him holding onto the weeds.

God is beckoning him to come in, but he struggles with letting go of the natural and entering in to God’s presence.

That strong desire to see justice has trapped him and created a divide between him and God.

So, ultimately, he will need to choose which he will cling to; the weeds (the natural world) or God.

Please join us tomorrow as we wrap this up.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-19-22

Jeremiah 29:13 (NKJV) 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

This devotional will be broken up into three parts for the sake of keeping its length reasonable. We hope what we share speaks to you.

As we have discussed many times over the last couple of years, the times in which we live are like nothing any of us have ever seen before.

What we’re seeing is not restricted to any one nation or a single geographical area. Evil is running rampant and on the rise across the entirety of the globe.

Some of the things that are happening might vary from one geographical area to another, but the underlying theme is consistent; one of pure evil intent.

Their end goal is one world government, one world currency system, one world health system and one world religion (not Christianity).

Governments and non-government entities around the world are cooperating with each other in ways and on levels that has not happened at any time in the past. Again, it is something none of us has seen or experienced in our lifetimes.

This is much like what we see in Genesis chapter 11, where the various peoples of that time had united and began building a large tower (Genesis 11:4); the tower of Babel.

If you read the account of it, which we strongly encourage you to do, you will see that God wasn’t pleased with this. And He took extraordinary measures to stop them.

Why? Because in their pride they had turned against God and, in reality, they endeavored to become like gods.

Today, because of the enormity of what we’re witnessing, it can be very easy to become fixated on it and spend a lot of our time trying to make sense of the current events and the state of the world, instead of focusing on our walk with God and what He wants for us.

This can create a divide between us and God if we’re not careful.

Now that we’ve built a foundation to work from, let’s talk more tomorrow.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-20-22

Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NKJV) 11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.

As we all start to feel the pressure of what is going on around us in the world, we cannot close our eyes or turn our heads from it. It’s real.

There is a lot taking place in the spiritual realm, and it is playing out in the natural world, where we see it with our eyes.

It is putting pressure on our workplaces, families, finances, ministries and most of all, if we let it, the pressure will even affect our relationship with God.

The battle that we are up against cannot be fought alone. We need God to help get us through to the end.

If we are not used to leaning on Him even for the simple things, we will learn quickly.

What do we do from here?

This day that we are in requires our discernment to be sharp, and that happens by staying close to God, reading His word and praying.

It’s that simple.

Yes, it does take some of our time. We will have to stop what we are doing and make time for it.

We need to lighten the load of our daily routine and fit God into it. No skipping out because so-and-so asked us to go somewhere or do something for them.

Some nights we may even be awakened to pray. We need to make it a must to pay attention!

Put everything and everyone after prayer and our one-on-One time with our Commander in Chief. He will guide our way.

The days will seem like nothing is happening. We can’t see the spiritual battle, but we can feel the repercussions and the effects of it.

The change in what we can do and can’t do will be noticeable. The way of life that we knew is changing. We must adjust and change with it.

Pray, listen and be alert and responsive to His promptings. We will win this battle by the hand of God. We will come out victorious, and things will be beautiful as God makes all things beautiful in His time! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-25-22

Luke 21:29-31 (NKJV) 29 Then He spoke to them a parable: “Look at the fig tree, and all the trees. 30 When they are already budding, you see and know for yourselves that summer is now near. 31 So you also, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near.

Jesus spent much of His time trying to get people, including His disciples, to learn to recognize the things that they see.

He did this by way of parables, using natural, earthly examples to represent spiritual, heavenly things or events.

In the verses above, look what He used; trees.

He told the people that when trees blossomed, they knew that summer was near.

Makes sense, right?

But then He used that same example to jar them awake, stating that “when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near”.

“These things” is a list of events that He spoke of to let the people know what signs to look for that would indicate “the end” is near.

In His own way, He was being a bit witty, trying to get the people to open their (spiritual) eyes and see everything (His presence) right in front of them.

He wanted badly for them to “get it”, but He knew that some would and others would not.

And so it is today. There is so much happening. We are speeding into end times events, the signs of the time are all around us, and there are still some who do not see.

Luke 21:34-35 (NKJV) 34 “But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. 35 For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth.

Let us not be fooled by anyone. And let us not be so caught up in the things of the world and the cares of life that we fail to see what’s right in front of us.

These are critical times that we are living in, and it’s imperative that we keep our spirit, our eyes and our ears focused on the One who holds it all in His hands, that we not be caught off guard and miss what He is saying.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-20-22

Luke 17:26-27 (NKJV) 26 And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: 27 They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.

Men, women, boys and girls, we need to be on high alert.

No, this is not a scare tactic. This is not us saying that Jesus is coming back tomorrow. This is not even us saying that Jesus is coming back next year.

Nobody knows the day or the hour but God the Father Himself.

Matthew 24:36 (NKJV) 36 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.

What we are saying, though, is that we are in a season where heightened awareness and sharp discernment is needed.

We are in a season where we need to be watching God and keeping our focus on Him like never before.

We absolutely cannot afford to be like those in the days of Noah. It is imperative that we take God at His word and trust that He is true in everything He has forewarned us about through His prophets when it comes to the last days.

The people in Noah’s day mocked and ridiculed Him right up until the very minute that He closed the door on the ark and the rains began coming down.

The people of Sodom and Gomorra lived like nothing was wrong right up until God began raining fire and brimstone down on that city and they all perished because of their horrific perversion and sin.

Let us not be like any of them, brushing God’s warnings aside and living like His promises are not true.

This isn’t even referring to sin in our lives. Yes, that’s very important. But this is referring to our attitude toward the events that we’re seeing all around us across the entire globe.

These events should be grabbing our attention and causing us to inquire of God, looking to Him for the answers.

And our discernment should be kicked into high gear by now, helping us to understand better what we’re seeing.

And let us not be like Lot’s wife, who disobeyed the angels of God and looked back as the city was destroyed, losing her life instantly because she didn’t take those warnings seriously.

Draw near to God. Trust Him with everything. And take His warning seriously as we push ahead in these prophetic times.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-9-22

Lamentations 2:11 (NLT) 11 I have cried until the tears no longer come; my heart is broken. My spirit is poured out in agony as I see the desperate plight of my people. Little children and tiny babies are fainting and dying in the streets.

As I may have mentioned in a previous devotional, I have been spending a lot of time in the book of Jeremiah lately. And I have now moved into the book of Lamentations, which was also penned by Jeremiah.

I have found the writings of Jeremiah to be extremely relevant to the situations we’re facing today on a global scale.

Today, however, I want to address the United States, where we live. Some of what I share may also be relevant to other countries.

My heart has been in a state of mourning for quite some time now, as I watch the systematic destruction and deconstruction of the nation where I live. It is heartbreaking, to say the least.

Don’t get me wrong. I don’t allow this to consume my time or my thoughts. But it bothers me to see a nation take such a wayward path in light of the blessings that God has poured out on us over the years. It is clearly a slap in the face of God.

The USA was founded and built on Biblical principles, making it very unique from its inception.

Over time, those principles have been eroded, a little at a time, causing the nation to stray from God as a whole.

This is very obvious, even to the natural eye, as we see the laws of the nation pull further and further from good, and steer us closer and closer to evil.

The hands of our nation are covered in the blood of unborn babies who have been slaughtered by the untold millions. We have also fought in many, many unnecessary wars over the decades, causing more unneeded bloodshed.

And now we have gone off the deep end with sexual and moral sins that are too numerous to list.

The words of Jeremiah at the beginning of this devotional describe almost perfectly what I have been feeling.

My heart is broken, and I have shed countless tears as I have contemplated the condition of our nation. I have repented for our sins many, many times, crying out to God for His mercy.

But I am realistic about what has happened, and I know that sins of this magnitude demand that a price be paid.

So, I hold fast to God, my Savior and the source of my hope and my strength. I look to Him alone for counsel, and for guidance as we walk this treacherous, delicate path into the future.

But do not live in fear. Don’t let what’s ahead cause you to shrink back. Instead, let it push you ever closer to God, our one true Source of strength.

And let us pray, as Jeremiah did.

Lamentations 2:19 (NKJV) 19 “Arise, cry out in the night, At the beginning of the watches; Pour out your heart like water before the face of the Lord. Lift your hands toward Him For the life of your young children, Who faint from hunger at the head of every street.”

Amen.
