Bible Verse of The Day – 9-25-24

2 Corinthians 5:20 (NKJV) 20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.

Each person who puts their faith in Christ becomes a child of God.

John 1:12 (NKJV) 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:

We are no longer orphans. We no longer belong to ourselves.

We are His, bought at a price.

1 Corinthians 6:20 (NKJV) 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

We have been called to shine His light, a beacon of hope in a dark world.

Ephesians 5:8-10 (NKJV) 8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light…

With these facts established, we now have understanding as to our status in the kingdom of God.

We are not purchased, redeemed, and saved to simply exist and wear the label of Christian.

We are here for a purpose.

Each person’s purpose is unique; designed just for you by God.

But there is a common purpose that we all share; being God’s ambassadors.

An ambassador is a representative; a messenger of a sovereign king or kingdom.

We are representatives of God, the sovereign Creator of all we see.

Everything we do reflects our God; showing people who He is.

It is our duty and honor to represent Him well, in a way that shows a dying world His truth, His love, His hope, His mercy, and His compassion for humanity.

Let us represent Him well, in the name of Jesus. Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-4-23

2 Corinthians 5:20 (NKJV) 20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.

As Paul penned these words, he stated that he was an ambassador for Christ.

What is an ambassador?

Ambassador: an accredited diplomat sent by a king or a nation as its official representative to a foreign country.

In Paul’s case, he was an ambassador for the ultimate King; the God of heaven, the Maker of all we see.

As children of God, we are also ambassadors for Christ, tasked with sharing God’s love and His message of redemption to others we encounter.

This is not always easy, but it is imperative for us to understand the importance of doing this.

We may never know the impact we have on the lives of others for the kingdom of God.

Being a good ambassador does not always mean carrying out great feats that draw a lot of attention or receive much fanfare.

Most times it is more likely to be small things done quietly that draw little or no attention.

These things may seem insignificant to us when we do them. But their effects can be much bigger than we understand. Sometimes the impact of what we do may take time to play out fully. And we may never know or understand what this means.

So, we need to be careful not to ignore God’s promptings or simply blow it off, thinking that it won’t matter.

Remember; ambassadors are never in it for glory. They tend to do things that get little recognition, letting their king or their nation receive accolades instead.

Let us also be this kind of ambassador, for the King of kings and the Lord of lords, Jesus Christ, the Author and Finisher of our faith.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-21-23

2 Corinthians 5:20 (NKJV) 20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.

Our salvation in Christ is about so much more than us spending eternity in God’s presence.

It is multi-faceted. Let’s take a look!

When we become a child of God, the Holy Spirit begins a transformation work in our lives that prepares us for what lies ahead.

When we put our faith and trust in Christ, we become a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17).

All the change and transformation that God works out in us is not just to make us a better person so we look good, or to impress those around us.

It is to mold and shape us into vessels who bring honor and glory to God Himself!

Now, this is where it gets really interesting.

As God works in us, He also takes those works He is doing in us and begins to display His work outwardly, through us.

Our interactions with others now become works of ambassadorship.

Here are some examples of how this plays out:

The kindness that we demonstrate to others.

A gentle, uplifting word to someone who is facing a hardship or tough situation.

Helping someone in need, either by deed or by giving of our finances.

Praying with someone who is hurting.

Speaking truth, in love, to bring light and hope to someone who is shrouded in darkness.

These are all simple examples of us being lights in a dark world.

We show God to others through our words and our actions, and we take no credit for it.

We point everyone to God, who gives us the ability to do what we do through the power and leading of the Holy Spirit.

This is never as complicated as we sometimes make it seem.

God leads, He speaks, and we obey.

And in this we fulfill our calling as ambassadors in Christ. Amen.
