(Mark 16:17-18 NKJV) “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; {18} “they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

We have authority in Christ!! This scripture is speaking to those who do what? To those who believe! God has given all His children authority through Jesus Christ.

We don’t have to live being controlled by things, because He has given us the power and authority to bind the thing or spirit that is trying to control us. We don’t have to live in poverty, because He has given us power and authority to loose those finances to come to us, to pay our bills, or our debt, to put food on our table and help not just ourselves but those also in need.

He has given us the power and authority to lay hands on the sick, and He promises us that they will recover. All this we can do through the precious name of Jesus, with the power and authority that He has given to us!!
Stand on the Word of God today.

(Mat 16:19 NKJV) “And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

Continued from yesterday, August 23, 2011…

What we do and here on earth can be very powerful. Everything we do has lasting consequences in the natural realm (stuff we can see with our eyes) and in the spiritual realm (stuff we can’t see with our eyes).

There is a whole world that lives beyond what we see with our eyes. There is a constant battle being fought in the spiritual realm. The world behind the scenes is alive and on the move as darkness wrestles against light.

Jesus told us that we have authority because he gave us the keys of the kingdom of heaven. This authority allows us to bind and loose things. This is for every single one of us who is a follower of Christ.

Jesus was speaking to his disciples when He said these words, but they apply to every one of us. Our lives don’t have to be a constant up-and-down of wrestling matches with the enemy and his evil spirits.

We can speak with the authority given to us and change things in the spiritual atmosphere. Does this mean nothing bad will ever happen? No. But it does mean that we can influence the events and circumstances in our lives.

(Mat 16:19 NKJV) “And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

God has given us the keys of the kingdom. We have the power and authority to bind and to loose things on this earth in the name of Jesus. My question is; are we doing what God has given us the power to do? Are we taking advantage of this privilege that He has given us?

These very keys can turn our lives and the lives of others around. We can put a stop to the things we know are causing chaos on our jobs, hurt and pain for our loved ones and financial difficulty that causes many marital problems, and so much more. We can take these keys and call forth the good things that are needed to help our situation and claim the victory for our lives today!!

Reading God’s Word and allowing the Holy Spirit to leads us in this area will bring a new outlook on life and we will have better days ahead.

Stay tuned for more teaching on this subject!!

(James 1:19-20 NKJV)  So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; {20} for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.

God taught me a lesson the other day and this scripture came to mind, so I wanted to pass it along to everyone else, because I’m sure we can all use a reminder in this area.

I was pulling into a parking lot and a man started to walk out in front of me, so I stopped rather quickly. As I stopped, though, I had a quick thought or two pass through my mind about how this guy should have looked before he stepped out. What was he thinking?

As I sat there thinking about how foolish this man was, he stepped back and smiled at me and waved me by, giving me the right of way. I smiled back and waved to thank him for being kind.

I felt completely foolish. I had been too quick to speak, even if it was just inside my head. God convicted me instantly and I repented. And then He reminded me of this verse.

How many times each day are we guilty of this kind of behavior? It doesn’t matter whether we speak things aloud or just say them to ourselves, we’re still speaking quickly and, many times, getting angry quickly too.

None of this brings glory to God.

Let’s start the week off on the right foot and think before we speak!

(Mat 9:29-30 NKJV)  Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.” {30} And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly warned them, saying, “See that no one knows it.”…

God just keeps reinforcing the phrase “According to your faith, let it be to you” in my life.

So many times we seek God and ask Him for something. We might even beg Him. But many of those same times, whether we receive or not can depend on whether we have faith enough to believe.

Now, please don’t take this wrong and start telling people that they haven’t gotten something from God simply because they don’t believe, because sometimes we don’t get what we ask for because God doesn’t want us to have it.

But many times, our faith and whether we believe or not are the limiting factors.

I know that I had asked God to heal me of asthma many, many times over the years. But it didn’t happen until my I actually, fully believed that He could do it. And then it happened.

So, according to your faith, let it be to you. Start taking this seriously and see how it changes your life.

(Mark 5:34 NKJV)  And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.”

The Word of God can be so simple at times, but we think we have to complicate it. We have our own ideas and agendas about how healing, deliverance or salvation etc. should take place and what it’s suppose to look like, how it should happen and so forth.

God does things differently all the time. We as humans like to repeat things. Have you heard the saying, “if something works, then don’t fix it?”

Now Jesus did a lot of miracles while He was here on earth. We can read about many of them in the Bible. He did whatever He saw the Father do and nothing else. He didn’t ask questions… He just obeyed. If He said feed the people, He fed the people. If He said spit in the dirt to make mud for the blind man’s eyes to be healed, He’d spit in the dirt and make mud and put it on the blind man’s eyes.

You see, what the Church has done is made a mold of what they think is considered “the Spiritual look”. Over and over again, they repeat the same old religious ritual and nothing happens.

When Jesus was doing all these miracles it was to show us how faithful God is and that as we believe Him and follow His guidance He’ll show us how each one individually needs to be done.

Let God do something new in us and in the church today!!

(Mark 10:46-50 NKJV)  Now they came to Jericho. As He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the road begging. {47} And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” {48} Then many warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” {49} So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called. Then they called the blind man, saying to him, “Be of good cheer. Rise, He is calling you.” {50} And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to Jesus.

This group of verses is just one of many examples where someone was trying to get to Jesus, but they were being kept away by the crowds and by the people around Jesus.

No matter what the obstacles were that got in their way, they never gave up. They pushed through until they were able to access the Messiah and have their needs met.

How is it with us? Do we know that we need to come to Jesus, but we’re too timid to push through to reach Him? Or maybe we’re not willing to put forth whatever effort it requires to reach Him?

If we let things get in our way, we’ll never get what we need. We’ll never change. Our circumstances will never change. We’ll stay in the same old leaky boat, hoping we don’t sink.

I want to encourage you to push through today. You need something from Jesus. He wants to help you… He’s willing, but you’re not doing everything that needs to be done.

Don’t give up and don’t pull back. Keep reaching and exercising your faith. All you need is one touch from Jesus to heal you and deliver you.

(Rev 19:16 NKJV)  And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

There are many people who will try to cast doubt as to who Jesus really is.

Some will try to tell you that He was just another prophet. Another might try to tell you that He was the son of God, but nothing more… definitely not God in the flesh.

God’s word is full of reinforcements as to who Jesus really is. The verse above is just one of them.

King of Kings and Lord of Lords is a pretty strong description and leaves no doubts at all as to who Jesus is.

If anyone ever tries to convince you that Jesus was any less than whom God’s word says He is, walk away. You know better!

(John 14:26 NKJV)  “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

We are not alone in this world. God has given us someone to help us, guide us, and lead us down the right path.

Decisions come everyday, some big and some small, but nevertheless we have to make them. Sometimes we make them for ourselves and, depending on our position, we may have to make them for others.

The way to be completely guaranteed to do and say the right thing is to allow the Holy Spirit to lead us. God assures us that the Holy Spirit will teach us.

Ask the Holy Spirit to come and be your Helper today. Give Him room to work and then watch things change in your life!!

(Rom 4:3 NKJV)  For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”

Abraham believed God. And because he believed God, it caused him to be called righteous.

For the past couple of weeks, God has been talking to me over and over again about believing Him.

Not believing “in Him”, but believing Him. In other words, He has been teaching me more and more about believing Him when He speaks something. He wants me to believe Him when He shows me something. He wants me to believe Him when I see Him move.

Believing in God is the easy part. But He wants us to go beyond that and actually believe Him when he speaks to us. This is where our faith gets tested and stretched. This is where we go from lip service to real-life faith.

I want to challenge you today, to take a step toward a new dimension and new level of faith and start believing God in every area of your life. It’s time we put our faith into action and put action behind our faith.

(Eph 5:2 KJV)  And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savor.

How does one walk in love?

Christ was our example. He loves each one of us so much that He gave Himself for us on the cross, for our sins, that we may be able to go to the Father and have a relationship with Him while we are here on earth.

He loves us so much that He took the stripes on His back so we would not have to suffer sickness or disease, that by His stripes He took we are healed.

Christ loves us so much that He made a way for us that when we die we can live eternally with Him in Heaven. He’s given us a home with Him!!

This shows us how we too should love. Yes, it can be painful sometimes and yes, it can be uncomfortable and not fair that we should have to suffer at times. But, what Christ did for us sets the stage; He sacrificed and suffered. Did He deserve this? NO…He
did it because of His love for us.

Love someone today.
