Your Daily Bible Verse

(Mat 6:34 NKJV) “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

As we live each day, we need to look at that day and focus on living it to it’s fullest, making sure we follow God’s commands in what He has asked us to do and how He wants us to do it. We need to be enjoying every moment of life.

Living out God’s commands will surely keep us busy. If we’re busy with the things of God we can never get bored and start worrying about things. It’s when our minds are bored that we THINK, and sometimes we THINK too much.

Let’s stop wasting time worrying about little things, or even the big things that God wants to take care of for us, and start spending our time wisely, finding out the things He would have us to do to fulfill that day.

God bless you!!

(1 John 1:7 NKJV)  But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

The blood of Jesus is very misunderstood these days. It has become something of a fable… almost a fairy tale.

It’s difficult for us, as humans, to understand the power of the blood of Jesus. But let’s understand this; it cleanses us from our sins and it does so much more, if we apply it to our lives.

There is nothing as powerful as the blood of Jesus… no medicine, no prayer, no ritual.

Man has traditionalized everything about Jesus Christ, but His blood cannot be traditionalized, ritualized or pent up in a man-made box, no matter how hard we try to do so.

If anyone ever tries to tell you that the blood of Jesus has to be associated with their traditions or rituals, walk away from their words and shake the dust from your feet. Lies such as this have no place in your life.

(Psa 30:5 NKJV)  For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.

Have you ever mourned? Have you ever wept? I know I have.

There are times when it seems like we can go from one period of weeping to another, while it seems like darkness surrounds us.

But God promises us that joy comes in the morning! There is nothing as powerful as God’s joy. His joy is our strength.

If you ever feel like you’re getting weak, take a good look and see if you’re losing your joy. It can happen without us even realizing it. Sometimes it seems hard to cling to our joy, but it’s worth fighting for.

(Isa 61:3 NKJV)  To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.”

Life isn’t always full of the things that we would like it to be. Sometimes things come our way that challenge us, test us and downright scare us.

But God has made us a promise. He has promised us that no matter what we go through, no mater how dark things might seem sometimes, that He will take ashes and give us beauty in return. He will take our mourning and give us the oil of joy.

Do you know why He gives us the oil of Joy? Because oil covers everything; it runs down and covers whatever it was poured on, and saturates it.

We need the oil of joy. It’s God’s way of wiping away our mourning and sadness and replacing it with His gladness.

Let the oil of joy run down over you today and permeate your spirit.

(Heb 11:3 NKJV)  By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

Every once in a while I happen to read this verse and it hits me all over again as to the depth of what this is saying. Seriously… this is very deep stuff!

God created everything we see, from absolutely nothing. He didn’t have something to start with, to create everything from. There was nothing and then He spoke and there was everything. Take a minute and think about that.

As powerful as science appears to be to some people, science always has to start with something to make other things. Not a single human being can make something from nothing. Only God can do that!

We all understand God differently, but no matter how we perceive Him or comprehend Him, He’s more incredible and awesome than our own minds can ever fully understand.

Take a minute today and give Him praise.

(Heb 12:14 NKJV) Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord:

How many of us like to get the last word in, only because we think we’re right? How many times did we walk away from a conversation having to justify in our heads that what we just did was good because we were right in what we were saying, yet feeling yucky and disturbed on the inside?

If it doesn’t feel right on the inside, then don’t ignore that feeling. There are times, whether we’re right or not, that we need to peacefully walk away. We are here to serve God and God wants more than anything for people to give their hearts to HIM. If we are standing there arguing with people then how does He win them over?

There are times when the truth is spoken, but in doing so it is spoken in LOVE not in anger. God’s timing is perfect.

God is looking for a people that will pursue peace, and holiness, and in doing so they may see HIM!!

(James 4:13-14 NKJV)  Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; {14} whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.

I know we have touched on this subject and these scriptures before, but they are always worth repeating, even if just as a gentle reminder for each of us.

Yesterday there was a horrible car accident not too far from where we live. In this accident, which involved two cars, two people lost their lives. One was an innocent driver, a man 68 years of age, who appears to have gotten hit by the other driver. The driver of the other car was the father of a 7 year old boy. The boy is now fatherless and the wife of the other man is now a widow.

It has become almost cliché to talk about how fragile life is and how short it is. But I am here to tell you today that it is the absolute truth. Not a single one of us is guaranteed a tomorrow.

We all tend to plan our lives and look so far ahead that we lose track of today… the right here and right now. We put off things that we should be doing, because we think we can do them tomorrow, or next week or next month.

Tragedies like these tend to be reminders for each of us as to the fragility of life, but we need to remember this every single day, even without seeing a tragedy.

I ask each of you today to work hard to keep your priorities straight and be sure to love those around you, giving them the time they deserve. We are all guilty of not calling that person when we should, or giving that someone a hug when we should.

Today, love like you mean it.

(Prov 8:13 NKJV)  The fear of the LORD is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate.

People may say, “why should we fear the Lord if He is Loving and compassionate and willing to help us in our situations and forgive us?”

But I feel like this scripture clarifies it a bit…it’s not that we fear Him, so to speak, but we should fear the things that He dislikes; the things He tells us to steer clear of. Oh how it helps us when we pay attention to details. Pride and arrogance He puts in the same boat as evil, right along with the perverse MOUTH!!

We cannot confuse fearing God with being afraid to go to Him and share the things we’ve done wrong so that we may receive forgiveness and strength to overcome!

Be fearful of what these things can do to us if we DON’T go to Him and admit it and get help.

God is a Good GOD, willing to help and strengthen us to do better, that we may conquer and defeat the enemy!!

Bible Verse of The Day

(2 Cor 5:7 NKJV)  For we walk by faith, not by sight.

Years ago I used to plan out my day. I knew what I was going to do every day. I was a planner and very good at it. Quite a bit has changed in me, to the point now where I hardly know what my day will be made up of. At first I did not like it at all. It wasn’t in agreement with my personality. I was born a planner!!

I had to change; I had to give that part of me over to God. I don’t know why, I just know that He has changed my life so that I don’t know certain things. Sometimes I’m fine with that but then there are times when I get myself in trouble because there is this little piece of me that still tries to know things and figure it all out. I find myself bucking what God is doing. I am quickly reminded of the fact that God wants me one way and that is Trusting in HIM, not in man!!

Walking with God and trusting Him means we may not always see things or know things that we would like to know. That is where the trust comes in.
So if things look gloomy today for you, be encouraged today. We don’t walk by sight, but by FAITH, knowing that He is GOD!!

(Phil 4:8 NKJV)  Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything
praiseworthy; meditate on these things.

God makes it easy to know what pleases Him. He lays it out very plainly for us to see and to meditate on.

Sometimes we wonder what’s right and what’s not, spending way too much time trying to decide which way to go and which choice to make.

We need not spend too much time on it. God has it all laid out for us, telling us to choose those things that are true, noble, pure, virtuous, of good report and praiseworthy. This covers everything!

So the next time we feel like we’re stuck in trying to decide if something is right or not, all we need to do is use those things just mentioned as a measuring stick. If something doesn’t measure up, we can pass it by and feel safe knowing we did the right thing.
