Your Daily Bible Verse

(James 4:13-14 NKJV)  Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; {14} whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.

I know we have touched on this subject and these scriptures before, but they are always worth repeating, even if just as a gentle reminder for each of us.

Yesterday there was a horrible car accident not too far from where we live. In this accident, which involved two cars, two people lost their lives. One was an innocent driver, a man 68 years of age, who appears to have gotten hit by the other driver. The driver of the other car was the father of a 7 year old boy. The boy is now fatherless and the wife of the other man is now a widow.

It has become almost cliché to talk about how fragile life is and how short it is. But I am here to tell you today that it is the absolute truth. Not a single one of us is guaranteed a tomorrow.

We all tend to plan our lives and look so far ahead that we lose track of today… the right here and right now. We put off things that we should be doing, because we think we can do them tomorrow, or next week or next month.

Tragedies like these tend to be reminders for each of us as to the fragility of life, but we need to remember this every single day, even without seeing a tragedy.

I ask each of you today to work hard to keep your priorities straight and be sure to love those around you, giving them the time they deserve. We are all guilty of not calling that person when we should, or giving that someone a hug when we should.

Today, love like you mean it.

(Prov 8:13 NKJV)  The fear of the LORD is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate.

People may say, “why should we fear the Lord if He is Loving and compassionate and willing to help us in our situations and forgive us?”

But I feel like this scripture clarifies it a bit…it’s not that we fear Him, so to speak, but we should fear the things that He dislikes; the things He tells us to steer clear of. Oh how it helps us when we pay attention to details. Pride and arrogance He puts in the same boat as evil, right along with the perverse MOUTH!!

We cannot confuse fearing God with being afraid to go to Him and share the things we’ve done wrong so that we may receive forgiveness and strength to overcome!

Be fearful of what these things can do to us if we DON’T go to Him and admit it and get help.

God is a Good GOD, willing to help and strengthen us to do better, that we may conquer and defeat the enemy!!

Bible Verse of The Day

(2 Cor 5:7 NKJV)  For we walk by faith, not by sight.

Years ago I used to plan out my day. I knew what I was going to do every day. I was a planner and very good at it. Quite a bit has changed in me, to the point now where I hardly know what my day will be made up of. At first I did not like it at all. It wasn’t in agreement with my personality. I was born a planner!!

I had to change; I had to give that part of me over to God. I don’t know why, I just know that He has changed my life so that I don’t know certain things. Sometimes I’m fine with that but then there are times when I get myself in trouble because there is this little piece of me that still tries to know things and figure it all out. I find myself bucking what God is doing. I am quickly reminded of the fact that God wants me one way and that is Trusting in HIM, not in man!!

Walking with God and trusting Him means we may not always see things or know things that we would like to know. That is where the trust comes in.
So if things look gloomy today for you, be encouraged today. We don’t walk by sight, but by FAITH, knowing that He is GOD!!

(Phil 4:8 NKJV)  Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything
praiseworthy; meditate on these things.

God makes it easy to know what pleases Him. He lays it out very plainly for us to see and to meditate on.

Sometimes we wonder what’s right and what’s not, spending way too much time trying to decide which way to go and which choice to make.

We need not spend too much time on it. God has it all laid out for us, telling us to choose those things that are true, noble, pure, virtuous, of good report and praiseworthy. This covers everything!

So the next time we feel like we’re stuck in trying to decide if something is right or not, all we need to do is use those things just mentioned as a measuring stick. If something doesn’t measure up, we can pass it by and feel safe knowing we did the right thing.

(Mark 16:15 NKJV)  And He said to them, “Go into all the world and
preach the gospel to every creature.

So what does it mean to “go into all the world” and preach the
gospel? Does it mean we have to drop what we’re doing and leave
everything behind, to travel to some far away land and preach to
people we don’t know? Well… not necessarily.

The world we live in is a much smaller place today than it was 50
or 100 years ago. Technology has made it smaller. First it was air
transportation. This allowed us to fly across the country or around
the world, doing in hours what used to take days or weeks to do.

Today it’s the internet. We can email, chat, talk and video chat
with people from around the globe, literally. We’re no longer
restricted to communicating with people in our own neighborhoods.

This allows us to spread the gospel and feed God’s flock in brand
new ways that nobody would have even dreamed possible 30 years ago.
God has truly opened huge doors in these last days, for everyone to
hear the gospel being preached. The fact that you’re reading this
right now is proof of that!

God has truly blessed each and every one of us. He has opened
tremendous doors for us all. He has blessed Pastor Ellie and me
with the awesome privilege of reaching out to untold thousands of
people across the world, to minister His word and help feed His
sheep.

Today, we now have over 3,000 people who receive the Daily Bible
Verse emails each day. We are in awe at how God has grown this
work. We are literally reaching into countries that we have never
heard of before now, but without ever stepping foot there.

We want to thank you all for being a part of this. We know that
there are many of you who forward these emails to your friends and
families. Please continue to do so, helping us spread God’s word
and the news of His mercy.

We thank you sincerely, from the bottom of our hearts, for being a
part of this. May God truly bless each and every one of you today.

(James 3:10 NKJV)  Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.

Do you ever find yourself some days being happy and uplifting, loving everything, having a great big smile on your face that no body can wipe off? Then on other days you’re feeling like nothing is good, everything is coming against you and seems like nothing is going right.

Well it happens to us all at times and it can be a hard thing to overcome and to change the way we feel when we are in it. A lot of times it is just that; “our feelings.”

Feelings are a funny thing. It’s up to us to let God help us to come out of the times when we feel down. It takes work on our end as well. How we feel determines what comes out of our mouths. If we are feeling good, then we have good things to say. If we are feeling down, then a lot of times the things we say and think are going to be not so good, negative and can cause others to join us in our misery.

God wants us to be a blessing and to be saying good things all the time. I know it sounds hard to think we can’t have a single day to just be miserable. It’s a mindset that we may have to change in us.

It’s not OK to be miserable. There is no scripture in the Bible that says, for the 8Th  day of every month, God allows so and so to be grumpy, miserable and can curse whoever he or she desires. NO it doesn’t exist! So therefore we must wipe it right out of our thinking process.

Let’s be a blessing to others!!

(Eph 4:29 NIV) Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but
only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that
it may benefit those who listen.

Unwholesome talk… What is that anyway?

Are the words we speak edifying? Do they lift up or do they tear down? Do
they bring light or do they bring darkness?

Have you ever been around someone who seems to speak only negative things?
It seems like no matter what subject is brought up, some people can only say
bad things… never anything good.

This is a form of unwholesome talk. It may not be obscene or vulgar, but it
doesn’t do anyone any good or help anyone.

Our words should be encouraging. They should lift people up and bring light,
not darkness. There are obviously going to be times when we need to address
things or correct people, but even that can be done in a way that isn’t
condescending or terribly negative.

We just need to let God have control of our mouths and our thoughts. If we
do this, the rest will come more easily.

(Isa 9:6 NKJV) For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the
government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful,
Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

How wonderful it is, that as we begin our day today, we can know that a
Child was born for us, to save us and give us freedom in this life and after
we leave this life. FREEDOM is a beautiful thing…no one wants to be in
chains.

I’d say that God and His Son are Special and are worthy of our praise this
day! Let us cry out to Him today, together all across this world, with all
sincerity in our hearts…Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting
Father, Prince of Peace is HE!!
We love You Lord and THANK YOU!!
