(Mark 16:15 NKJV)  And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.

It’s funny how (Eph 4:11 NKJV) says,  “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers…”

I find this so interesting, that there are different types of ministries for getting the Word of God out there.

There are also those who haven’t necessarily been called into any of these positions but we all have all been called to serve Christ in all that we do, and in doing so we can touch those around us in some way or another.

By working together as one big family, supporting one another and praying for each other, we can reach the world.

Praise God for His plan to save this world!! It’s all beautiful!

(Mat 7:24-27 NKJV)  “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: {25} “and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. {26} “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: {27} “and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”

As I write this, we’re sitting here in RI being hit by hurricane Irene. The storm has been downgraded to a Tropical Storm, but it’s still hitting us with high winds and our power has now gone off, so I’m using my mobile phone to upload this message to the server so it will be sent out on time.

This storm reminds me of the scripture above, where Jesus talked about storms beating against a house that had been built on sand, instead of on solid rock.

There is nothing in this world that can be trusted 100%. Things fail. People fail.

But God never fails. He is the only one we can trust who will never let us down.

If our trust is in Him, we can never go wrong. We will never be left alone and we will never be abandoned.

(Prov 4:25 NKJV)  Let your eyes look straight ahead, And your eyelids look right before you.

There are so many different ways that wandering eyes can get us into trouble and lead us away from God’s path for our lives.

Sometimes we can let our eyes wander and look at things they’re not supposed to look at, such as in the case of the opposite sex.

Other times we can let our eyes wander and look at things that we don’t have, such as in the case of envying someone or coveting a material item that belongs to someone else.

And even worse, we can let our eyes wander and look at the things of the world in a desiring way, ignoring the things that God has already blessed us with.

Any of these things can lead us away from God, causing division between us and Him.

Keeping our eyes straight ahead, on the path in front of us is a good thing.

(Prov 4:13 NKJV)  Take firm hold of instruction, do not let go; Keep her, for she is your life.

Have you ever noticed how some people just seem to have a hard time letting someone teach them things? I know I have struggled with this at times, especially when I was younger.

I’ve learned over the years, though, that instruction is a good thing, especially when it comes from people who have wisdom and experience to share.

Listening to those who have been through things in their lives is a good way to avoid the pitfalls and the mistakes that others have made. It can save us a lot of pain, anger, frustration and heartache.

We just need to listen and apply what we learn.

(Mark 16:17-18 NKJV) “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; {18} “they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

We have authority in Christ!! This scripture is speaking to those who do what? To those who believe! God has given all His children authority through Jesus Christ.

We don’t have to live being controlled by things, because He has given us the power and authority to bind the thing or spirit that is trying to control us. We don’t have to live in poverty, because He has given us power and authority to loose those finances to come to us, to pay our bills, or our debt, to put food on our table and help not just ourselves but those also in need.

He has given us the power and authority to lay hands on the sick, and He promises us that they will recover. All this we can do through the precious name of Jesus, with the power and authority that He has given to us!!
Stand on the Word of God today.

(Mat 16:19 NKJV) “And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

Continued from yesterday, August 23, 2011…

What we do and here on earth can be very powerful. Everything we do has lasting consequences in the natural realm (stuff we can see with our eyes) and in the spiritual realm (stuff we can’t see with our eyes).

There is a whole world that lives beyond what we see with our eyes. There is a constant battle being fought in the spiritual realm. The world behind the scenes is alive and on the move as darkness wrestles against light.

Jesus told us that we have authority because he gave us the keys of the kingdom of heaven. This authority allows us to bind and loose things. This is for every single one of us who is a follower of Christ.

Jesus was speaking to his disciples when He said these words, but they apply to every one of us. Our lives don’t have to be a constant up-and-down of wrestling matches with the enemy and his evil spirits.

We can speak with the authority given to us and change things in the spiritual atmosphere. Does this mean nothing bad will ever happen? No. But it does mean that we can influence the events and circumstances in our lives.

(Mat 16:19 NKJV) “And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

God has given us the keys of the kingdom. We have the power and authority to bind and to loose things on this earth in the name of Jesus. My question is; are we doing what God has given us the power to do? Are we taking advantage of this privilege that He has given us?

These very keys can turn our lives and the lives of others around. We can put a stop to the things we know are causing chaos on our jobs, hurt and pain for our loved ones and financial difficulty that causes many marital problems, and so much more. We can take these keys and call forth the good things that are needed to help our situation and claim the victory for our lives today!!

Reading God’s Word and allowing the Holy Spirit to leads us in this area will bring a new outlook on life and we will have better days ahead.

Stay tuned for more teaching on this subject!!

(James 1:19-20 NKJV)  So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; {20} for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.

God taught me a lesson the other day and this scripture came to mind, so I wanted to pass it along to everyone else, because I’m sure we can all use a reminder in this area.

I was pulling into a parking lot and a man started to walk out in front of me, so I stopped rather quickly. As I stopped, though, I had a quick thought or two pass through my mind about how this guy should have looked before he stepped out. What was he thinking?

As I sat there thinking about how foolish this man was, he stepped back and smiled at me and waved me by, giving me the right of way. I smiled back and waved to thank him for being kind.

I felt completely foolish. I had been too quick to speak, even if it was just inside my head. God convicted me instantly and I repented. And then He reminded me of this verse.

How many times each day are we guilty of this kind of behavior? It doesn’t matter whether we speak things aloud or just say them to ourselves, we’re still speaking quickly and, many times, getting angry quickly too.

None of this brings glory to God.

Let’s start the week off on the right foot and think before we speak!

(Mat 9:29-30 NKJV)  Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.” {30} And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly warned them, saying, “See that no one knows it.”…

God just keeps reinforcing the phrase “According to your faith, let it be to you” in my life.

So many times we seek God and ask Him for something. We might even beg Him. But many of those same times, whether we receive or not can depend on whether we have faith enough to believe.

Now, please don’t take this wrong and start telling people that they haven’t gotten something from God simply because they don’t believe, because sometimes we don’t get what we ask for because God doesn’t want us to have it.

But many times, our faith and whether we believe or not are the limiting factors.

I know that I had asked God to heal me of asthma many, many times over the years. But it didn’t happen until my I actually, fully believed that He could do it. And then it happened.

So, according to your faith, let it be to you. Start taking this seriously and see how it changes your life.

(Mark 5:34 NKJV)  And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.”

The Word of God can be so simple at times, but we think we have to complicate it. We have our own ideas and agendas about how healing, deliverance or salvation etc. should take place and what it’s suppose to look like, how it should happen and so forth.

God does things differently all the time. We as humans like to repeat things. Have you heard the saying, “if something works, then don’t fix it?”

Now Jesus did a lot of miracles while He was here on earth. We can read about many of them in the Bible. He did whatever He saw the Father do and nothing else. He didn’t ask questions… He just obeyed. If He said feed the people, He fed the people. If He said spit in the dirt to make mud for the blind man’s eyes to be healed, He’d spit in the dirt and make mud and put it on the blind man’s eyes.

You see, what the Church has done is made a mold of what they think is considered “the Spiritual look”. Over and over again, they repeat the same old religious ritual and nothing happens.

When Jesus was doing all these miracles it was to show us how faithful God is and that as we believe Him and follow His guidance He’ll show us how each one individually needs to be done.

Let God do something new in us and in the church today!!

(Mark 10:46-50 NKJV)  Now they came to Jericho. As He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the road begging. {47} And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” {48} Then many warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” {49} So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called. Then they called the blind man, saying to him, “Be of good cheer. Rise, He is calling you.” {50} And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to Jesus.

This group of verses is just one of many examples where someone was trying to get to Jesus, but they were being kept away by the crowds and by the people around Jesus.

No matter what the obstacles were that got in their way, they never gave up. They pushed through until they were able to access the Messiah and have their needs met.

How is it with us? Do we know that we need to come to Jesus, but we’re too timid to push through to reach Him? Or maybe we’re not willing to put forth whatever effort it requires to reach Him?

If we let things get in our way, we’ll never get what we need. We’ll never change. Our circumstances will never change. We’ll stay in the same old leaky boat, hoping we don’t sink.

I want to encourage you to push through today. You need something from Jesus. He wants to help you… He’s willing, but you’re not doing everything that needs to be done.

Don’t give up and don’t pull back. Keep reaching and exercising your faith. All you need is one touch from Jesus to heal you and deliver you.
