Bible Verse of The Day – 5-1-12

(Heb 6:15 NKJV)  And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

Abraham waited patiently for God’s promise. It wasn’t easy for him, but he did it. And he obtained the promise.

It isn’t always easy for us to wait, but sometimes this is just what we need to do… wait.

Waiting is probably one of the hardest things for us to do as humans, but if you really look at it, waiting patiently is a sign of our faith and trust in God.

If we get impatient and start taking matters into our own hands, we’ll probably get ourselves into trouble.

So if you’re in “waiting mode” right now, let God stretch your faith so that you can wait on Him and you can obtain His promise for you.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-30-12

(Phil 4:13 NKJV)  I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

There is not a single person reading this who hasn’t faced at least one situation where they have felt inadequate, intimidated or overwhelmed. We all face this from time to time.

But God’s word tells us that we can do ALL THINGS thought Christ.

He is our strength. He is our source of strength. In Him, we can do all things, even when we feel inadequate, intimidated, overwhelmed or anything else that might make us turn away from something that we’re facing.

This is not just another pep talk or “feel good” message. Through Christ, we have what it takes to make it… to make a difference in our own lives and the lives of others, even when we face tough circumstances and situations.

Fear is not of God, but of the enemy of our souls. Don’t give in to fear. Rebuke fear in the name of Jesus and pull your strength from Him.

Today, as you face your fears and your trials, take a deep breath and draw your strength from Jesus, and put one foot in front of the other. Move forward and don’t look back.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-28-12

(2 Sam 5:19 NKJV)  So David inquired of the LORD, saying, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will You deliver them into my hand?” And the LORD said to David, “Go up, for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into your hand.”

David inquired of the Lord. He asked God, should I go up against the Philistines? What did God do for David? He answered him.

Are you looking for an answer from God today? Have you gotten your answer? If not, keep inquiring until you know what God is telling you. God is faithful to answer us just like He did David, and He will lead us in the right direction.

David asked God for direction. He didn’t jump out. He didn’t just try it and think that if it works then good, if not then I’ll know that I shouldn’t have done it.

The most important thing for all of us to know is that God is here for US! He will give us the answers we need. Wait on HIM and get His answer.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-27-12

(2 Th 3:13 NKJV)  But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary in doing good.

Have you ever felt like you just want to stop trying… like it’s not worth the effort that it takes to do the right thing?

Let me encourage you today to never, ever give up doing the right thing. There are times when it feels like it’s harder to do right than to do wrong, but that doesn’t mean that it’s not worth the effort to do right.

Giving up is the easy way out. God doesn’t want us to take the easy way. He wants us to take the way that will give Him glory and make us stronger!

Today, as you fight your way through whatever battle comes your way, remember that nothing is gained by taking the easy way.

Anything worth obtaining has to be fought for. But when the battle is won, it makes the prize that much more valuable.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-26-12

(2 Th 3:5 NKJV)  Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ.

Patience. I doubt that there is a single one of us who shouldn’t be more patient at some point each day.

The world moves at such a fast pace these days. It doesn’t matter where we live. Everything moves much faster than it did 20 years ago.

This fast-paced world has sucked all of us into wanting everything instantly. Getting something quickly isn’t always bad, but it can have some bad effects on our lives if we’re not careful, because we forget how to wait for God’s timing.

Today, if you’re driving your car and get behind someone going slower than you think they should be going, be patient. If you get in a long line at the store or at the bank, be patient.

If something isn’t happening for you as quickly as you want it to, be patient.

Be patient. God knows what we need and when we need it.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-25-12

(Rom 8:12-14 NKJV)  Therefore, brethren, we are debtors; not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. {13} For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. {14} For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

Wanting to do the right things daily, not just making good decisions, but God decisions, takes walking by His Spirit. It takes keeping our will under control and letting God’s will rise up in us. It takes us giving God freedom in us and and letting His Spirit, lead us.

If we think that God’s Spirit does not lead us then we are misled. We need to understand that He will guide us and lead us everyday. We can’t do it by our own power and intellect. If we try to do this, we will fail.

Walking by the Spirit brings change in us and the way we do things… period. We will live, as we allow God to move in us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-24-12

(Mat 17:20 NKJV)  So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

Who has a mountain in front of them today? Are you hurting inside? Do you need some kind of a breakthrough? Are you waiting on a miracle?

Do we know the power and authority that is within us, as we have received the Son of God, Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the Child of the ALMIGHTY GOD? His Spirit lives in us!

Speak to that mountain today and tell it to be gone…in the Mighty name of Jesus! Call it by name! Be gone…debt, control, lust, drug addiction, self-centeredness, pornography, abuse. etc. They are all mountains that need to go! Tell them to be removed and believe that God will remove them as we have faith and trust in Him to do so… you shall be free!!

Believe and walk in VICTORY!

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-23-12

(Col 3:15 NKJV)  And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.

The peace of God… it’s something that we sometimes don’t pay enough attention to or give enough importance to.

Have you ever done something, or planned or attempted to do something that seemed perfectly logical, or maybe somebody was pushing you to do something, but you just didn’t have a “good feeling” about it?

How about on the opposite side of things?

Have you ever done something that makes no sense to the logical mind, especially to those around you, but you had a peace about it and you just knew it was what you needed to do?

Maybe you or the people around you didn’t understand how you could have peace about doing something that seemed so odd and illogical to the natural mind.

(Phil 4:6-7 NKJV)  Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; {7} and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

God’s peace passes all understanding. What does that mean?

Sometimes the things that God wants us to do will look foolish to the natural mind and if we try to figure it out, it just won’t make sense.

(1 Cor 1:27 NKJV)  But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;

So if you’re considering doing something, or if you feel like God has asked you to do something or is moving you in a specific direction, and it just doesn’t make sense to your head, check your “peace meter”. If your peace meter is registering on the low side, maybe you need to think twice about doing it. Maybe it’s not really God, after all.

But if you feel that peace of God and your peace meter is running on the high side, even though the things you’re doing might not seem logical to the natural mind, then go ahead and take that next step.

Let God guide you and keep a close eye on your peace meter.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-21-12

(Neh 8:10 NKJV)  Then he said to them, “Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our LORD. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”

The joy of the Lord is our strength! This has been our anthem this week, as we have worked our way through some tough things, meeting opposition as we moved forward.

Hanging our heads is always so much easier, but holding them high and pulling on God, taking on His joy, is so much better!

Sometimes it seems like we can sail through each day and everything falls into place, and then there are those days (or weeks) when it seems like it takes everything we have just to keep going.

Regardless of whether we’re in the first situation or second situation, it’s God’s joy that sustains and keeps us strong. If we lose our joy, we get miserable, weak and negative.

If the enemy has been beating on your door this week (or even if he hasn’t), make sure you’re holding your head up high, looking to God and letting His joy be full in you.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-20-12

(Psa 119:109 NKJV)  My life is continually in my hand, Yet I do not forget Your law.

God gives us the freedom to live and do as we please. He does not try to control us in any way.

Here He is the Creator of the Universe, yet He still gives us free will to do as we want. Now, He wants us to do the right thing of course. He wants us to obey His Word. But He still gives us time and freedom to make our own choices. This can help us to understand the difference between man-made religion and a real relationship with Christ.

Because God gives us a free will to make our own decision without pressure, guilt trips or being tormented, we as God’s children also need to do the same when we are dealing with people. We shouldn’t try to get people to do things or people should not try to get us to do things by force or manipulation. Giving guidance and instruction is good…but giving guidance and instruction and forcing someone into something is NOT good.

If you feel like you are being controlled by emotions, or feeling guilted into doing things you don’t want to be doing, then this is not of God. This is of man and not by God’s Spirit. This is by a man-made, religious spirit, which is a spirit that tries to take on the same look as God. It can even quote scripture, but it does not let you do things willingly or freely; it forces you into doing things through, guilt and fear and condemnation.

God wants us to want to do the right thing. He wants us to want to obey Him willingly, not be forced to obey Him. If we do it because we want to change, with all sincerity and love for God, our hearts will be changed and our walk with Him will be REAL!!

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-19-12

(Col 2:8 NKJV)  Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.

Today we’d like to ask you a question, and we’d like you to consider it before you give an answer. Obviously, we don’t necessarily want you to send your answer to us, but think about this with regard to how it stacks up against God’s word and then answer.

The question is this: When it comes to your walk with God, why do you do what you do?

Think about that for a minute. Why do you do the things you do when it comes to your relationship with God? Why do you worship the way you do? Why do you pray the way you do? Why do you picture God in your mind the way you do? Why do you do the things you do in your relationship with Him?

Is it because that’s what you were taught? Is it because it’s what you’ve seen others do? Do you really even know why you do what you do?

We want to challenge you today. We want you to take a good look at this and ask God to reveal to you why you do what you do.

Is it because God has shown you to do this? Is it because you read it in His word? If not, then why?

This is a very legitimate question that begs an honest and sincere answer from each and every one of us!
