Bible Verse of The Day – 7-5-12

(Exo 4:10 NKJV)  Then Moses said to the LORD, “O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.”

I remember several years ago sharing a message on a Sunday morning entitled “You’re Hired”.

God had shown me how He uses us in the most unlikely ways and the thing that we were least prepared to do in the natural was the “job” that He would hire us for.

Why? Because then He gets the glory, not us. When we accomplish something that we’re not naturally prepared for, there’s no way we can take the credit for it. It all goes to God!

He also showed me that when we aren’t prepped for a certain task, we’re less likely to over-think it and mess it up, as long as we trust Him. It’s trusting in Him that’s the key to accomplishing what He wants us to do.

The last thing Moses wanted was to have to face Pharaoh and demand that he let the Israelites go. He wasn’t fit. He had a speech problem and he wasn’t eloquent. But God used Him anyway and He got all of the glory.

Let God use you in ways that you’re not prepared for. It’s the way He likes it!

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-4-12

(Mark 2:3-4 NKJV)  Then they came to Him, bringing a paralytic who was carried by four men. {4} And when they could not come near Him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where He was. So when they had broken through, they let down the bed on which the paralytic was lying.

This story is just one example of the great lengths that people would go to in order to get to Jesus to seek healing, deliverance or forgiveness. They let nothing get in their way.

Today we have it so easy. We have the gospel so easily accessible to us. Sometimes it can make us lazy and cause us to forget how much Jesus is worth in our lives.

Even though we can’t physically touch Him, we still have the same access as the people who walked with Him. In fact, we have more!

He left this earth and passed His authority along to His followers. His death tore the veil that separated us from having direct access to God and after He ascended, the Holy Spirit came to earth to help, guide and comfort us.

We have it all!

Press into Him and receive what it is that you need in order to get your victory!

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-3-12

(John 4:42 NKJV)  Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.”

I was reading this story about a woman that Jesus was talking to. After she spoke with Him, she left and ran back to the people and told them that Jesus had told her everything about herself. They all believed her and ran out to meet Jesus and to see for themselves.

How many of us today are standing and holding on to someone else’s testimony when we share about Christ to others? Are we going after Him ourselves, getting our own testimony?

Let God move in your life today and give you a testimony of your own to share with others.

If you’re not saved, let Him save you. If you need deliverance from addictions, abuse, debt, or any sinful nature let Him do this for you today.

If you need to be loved by someone, let Him love you; let Him fill that emptiness in your heart today so that you too will have a testimony. Let Him become more real to you today and as you share with others, you will share your own experiences with them!!

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-2-12

(2 Cor 9:7 NKJV)  So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.

Being a cheerful giver is something God loves! So, with that in mind we have to purpose or be determined within our hearts that when we give we are going to be happy about it. Giving can be a lot of fun!

One night I had a dream. My husband and I were in this home and we both received a big boulder-sized chunk of gold. We went from room to room and in each room we both would break off a little bit of our gold and give it for whatever need there was in that room.

We were happy and smiling and really having fun!! We went through the whole house, and ended up back in the same room together. We looked down at our hands and in them was not a single piece of gold left. We looked at each other in surprise and thought, “OH NO, we gave it all away!” But, as we both looked up, Jesus was smiling at us and we knew He was happy with our choice.

He then walked us over to the edge of a cliff. There below us were tons of people, so many people, and they were happy to see us. Those people were all the people that we helped through our giving. God was showing us that we would reap from our sowing and that everything was going to be OK.

What we give today is what we will receive from tomorrow. We can’t be stingy or miserable when we give, wishing we could just keep it to gain more for ourselves.

Be a cheerful giver today!!

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-30-12

(Rev 21:6 NKJV)  And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts.

Who’s thirsty today? Who wants life in their situation, in their home, in their Church, in their cell group, in their worship team, etc.?

It is free for us today.  As we thirst, and as we come to the Alpha and Omega, He will give it to us! Isn’t it good to know that as we come thirsty, our thirst will be quenched?

Have you ever been so thirsty that nothing you drink takes it away? You keep having to drink because nothing quenches that thirst.

The Alpha and Omega has given us the fountain of the waters of life to drink from and that is His Holy Son, Jesus Christ. Cry out to Him today, and drink.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-29-12

(Prov 10:4 NKJV)  He who has a slack hand becomes poor, But the hand of the diligent makes rich.

Sometimes we expect God to just swoop in and fix all of our problems, bless us with overflowing finances and give us everything we want.

Sadly, there are many teachers these days that are more than happy to prophesy over people about abundant new beginnings for them, promising them that God is going to shower huge blessings over them.

God can and will do this for us, but He will also require something of us. Most of the time what He requires is good, old-fashioned hard work!

God does not want to see His people become slothful and lazy. He wants us to work for what we have. Our diligence in working hard will show Him our intentions and our willingness to obey His word.

If you’re looking for blessings from God today, ask Him what it is that He wants you to do. Sometimes all it takes is for us to show Him we’re serious and take the first step, and then He will take the next one for us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-28-12

(2 Th 3:13 NKJV)  But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary in doing good.

We want to encourage everyone today to continue to do what glorifies God in your lives.

Doing a good thing is OK, but doing a “God” thing is best. There are times when we can choose to do something that seems right and good, but it might not always be what God has chosen for us to do.

As His followers we always need to be alert and listening to hear what it is that He has for us to do. Sometimes it might seem like the littlest, most insignificant thing that we brush it off and ignore it, maybe even doubting that it was God speaking to us.

But it’s the subtle things that can make such a difference. It’s that “still, small voice” that prompts us and shows us the way so many times.

We just need to let God sharpen our discernment so we can hear Him clearly. Once we do this, He can truly begin to do a work in us and our lives will be a testimony to His goodness and His mercy.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-27-12

(Mark 9:29 NKJV)  So He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.”

This was Jesus’ answer to the disciples when they asked Him why they could not cast the demon out of a man’s son.

In some situations fasting is required along with prayer. We must always seek God and ask Him what it will take. What do we do Lord?

Sometimes for me, I will be right in the middle of a conversation and someone could be asking me for advice and I have no clue as to what to tell them and I’ll say, “Lord what do you want me to tell them”, or “Lord how do I handle this?”

He is always faithful to give the answer. Follow Him and His steps. Don’t try to repeat things just because it might have worked before, whether it’s something you did or something your saw someone else do. Every situation is different and may require different attention.

If we are in a situation today and it seems like nothing is happening, we need to make sure that we are doing everything the way God would have us to do it. If we want Victory we have to follow His leading, His guidance, and we have to do it His way!

Yes, this is humbling because we never know what to do without God or how He may tell us to do it. Yay! That’s the way He wants it!!

So if you’re facing something and you’re not sure what to do, take the first step by asking God “what do I do Lord?”. And then wait and listen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-26-12

(Mat 11:28 NKJV)  “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

As a follow-up to yesterday’s verse, we want to reassure everyone that God is in control.

Jesus told us to come to Him so He can give us rest! This adds to His words that we shared about worrying. He wants us to rest in Him!

This doesn’t mean that when something comes along that requires work on our part that we just ignore it and wait for God to clean up the mess for us. But it does mean that as we are obedient to Him and we do what He requires of us, we don’t need to “sweat the small stuff”.

God’s rest is different than what man thinks of when it comes to rest. God’s rest gives us peace, comfort and joy. God’s rest takes away our worries and replaces them with security in His word and His promises.

So take God’s promises and the words of Jesus and implement them in your life, trusting Him. Put them into practice and learn how to live in His peace. It takes some effort on our part initially, but the effort is more than worth it when we finally understand this truth and begin to walk it out.

We pray God’s peace over each and every one of you today, in the name of Jesus.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-25-12

(Mat 6:27 NKJV)  “Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

This is never an easy lesson to learn, but not a single one of us can add anything good to our lives by worrying.

Worrying will not change any situation. It will not add money to our budget. It will not save our lost friends, relatives, spouses, or children. It will not fix broken relationships, a broken down car or a leaky roof.

Here’s what worrying will do. It will add to our stress levels. It will increase our blood pressure. It will give us gray hair prematurely. It will cause us to gain weight. It will destroy our health, and so much more. Nothing about worrying is good for us.

Oh, and worrying shows us how much or how little we trust God with our situations and our problems.

We know that it’s not always easy not to worry. It comes very natural for many of us. But it is so much easier to trust God and let Him work things out for us. And don’t be fooled. Just because things aren’t turning out the way we thought they should, doesn’t mean that He isn’t in control.

Sometimes we just don’t see the big picture and what God is doing may look a little odd to us at first. But if we trust Him and let Him work it out, we will see that He knows what’s best for us and He knows what He’s doing!

Trust Him!

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-23-12

(Psa 118:8 NKJV)  It is better to trust in the LORD Than to put confidence in man.

Earlier this morning as I was praying I saw hands; Jesus’ hands. In those hands, I saw myself. He was holding me in His hands. This is what God wants for me and for you. If only we could allow Him to hold our lives in His hands, how much better off would we be right now?

We can sit in a chair without even looking at it, without even checking it out. We just know it’s there and we don’t even hesitate to sit down. But yet, we struggle with putting all of our life in God’s hand. Why is this?

Well, I can only speak from my own experience and the way I feel and see things in my own life. But I truly believe that there are things in me that I just have a hard time trusting God for, or letting Him take care of without me knowing. I’m being honest, straight from the heart here…why else would I not let God hold all of me in His hands.

Today let us make a decision; let us be honest with ourselves. Today, take a good look at why we will trust a chair to hold us, but not God.

God is Good, He is Faithful, He is Perfect and Great. Mighty is HE!

Trust HIM!!
