Bible Verse of The Day – 8-25-12

(Eccl 2:11 NKJV)  Then I looked on all the works that my hands had done And on the labor in which I had toiled; And indeed all was vanity and grasping for the wind. There was no profit under the sun.

King Solomon had all there was to have in those days. He had endeavored to try everything his heart desired. He had satisfied all of his wants and desires for pleasure.

After experiencing all there was to experience, he came to one conclusion; “all was vanity and grasping for the wind”.

Oh… the time we each spend trying to satisfy the desires of our flesh. It can be blatant or it can be disguised or veiled, but in the end, it will still be vanity.

True satisfaction and happiness comes only from one Source; God, himself.

Spend time this weekend reflecting on this and weighing the things in your life that are taking up your time. What is real and what is vanity? What is for your satisfaction and what is for God’s glory?

The results of what you find might be very interesting.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-24-12

(2 Cor 6:17-18 NKJV)  Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.” {18} “I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the LORD Almighty.”

Let us be careful who we hang around with. We are not talking here about ministering to people; this is strictly about hanging out or spending lots of time with them. Sin can bring us down even if we have no desire to do what others are doing. Hanging out with the wrong crowd can cause us to become desensitized to sin and lead us into doing things we never expected we would do.

We are called to love people, help people, and to encourage people. But some people don’t want love, help or encouragement; they want the lifestyle they live and they actually love and enjoy it. So, be careful that their lifestyle or their ways of thinking don’t get you and pull you down with them.

How do you know people’s state or condition? (Mat 7:16-17 NKJV)  “You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles? {17} “Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. Be alert, watch, and listen look for the fruit.

If you are in this place today, come out from among them! Let God be your Father and you be His son or daughter.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-23-12

(Psa 7:17 NKJV)  I will praise the LORD according to His righteousness, And will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

(Psa 146:2 NKJV)  While I live I will praise the LORD; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.

We will praise the Lord!

We don’t need to wait for a special occasion to praise Him! He is worth to be praised regardless of what we are going through.

If we are going through trials, we need to praise Him! If we are celebrating a victory, we need to praise Him!

Whether we praise Him or not should not be based on how we feel or what our life circumstances are like. We need to learn to praise Him in the storm and in the calm, in the valley or on the mountain top!

Let’s stop hanging our heads and begin praising God for who He is, not for what we have or don’t have!

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-22-12

(Luke 8:50 NKJV)  But when Jesus heard it, He answered him, saying, “Do not be afraid; only believe, and she will be made well.”

Only believe!

Who is sick today and needs healing? Who is suffering and you have done all you can do? The doctor says there is nothing else they can do for your condition.

Well, we have good news for you today. If you can believe God, and that His Word is true, and He can and will heal you, today is your day to receive your healing. You have to believe, only believe and it shall be yours. Claim it today!!

Dear God in Heaven,

Today I come to you with great need in my heart. I am suffering with sickness in my body and there is nothing that seems to be helping it and I feel like I’m getting worse. I need You Lord. I need You to heal me today.

I believe Your Word is true and You are my God and My Healer. I repent from anything that I might have done on my end to cause this condition and I am truly sorry and ask forgiveness. Father, I also repent if I have been holding bitterness and anger in my heart towards any person. I’m sorry, and today I want to let go of it and leave it at the altar. Father, I ask that You Heal me today and may I be a walking, talking testimony of Your Goodness.

I repent for my unbelief. Please forgive me for not trusting you and believing that you are the healer of my body.

I command this sickness to leave me, in the Mighty name of Jesus Christ. I stand on Your Word, Lord Jesus, that I am healed by Your stripes.

In Jesus name I pray. Amen

We are standing and believing God with you for your healing today.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-21-12

(Mat 21:44 NKJV)  “And whoever falls on this stone will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder.”

Jesus spoke these words in a parable. He was addressing the arrogance of the Jewish leaders of that day, and their refusal to accept Him for who He was.

There is also a symbolic element to this verse that speaks to every one of us today. It doesn’t deal so much with accepting Him or not, but more with our attitude.

We have a choice as to whether we willingly let God teach us, or we resist Him and then He is forced to teach us. This can apply to many different aspects of our lives, including pride.

Pride is a terrible sin that we are all guilty of at one time or another.

(Prov 16:18 NKJV)  Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.

We can be prideful of so many things; our status in society, our home, our children, our talents and abilities, our physical stature, our car, our job, our title, etc.

Every single one of these things can put a wedge between us and God, and what He wants to do in our lives. Pride can destroy our marriage. It can destroy our relationship with our families. It can cause us to become unapproachable, even by God.

We need to “throw ourselves on the stone” and become broken before God so the stone doesn’t have to fall upon us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-20-12

(1 Cor 10:13 NKJV)  No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

We are all tempted every day. Every single one of us… there isn’t one of us that is an exception.

We are tempted with so many different things; lying, stealing, lust, and the list can go on and on. Sometimes these temptations can be very, very strong in our lives. They can rage against us like a storm.

So how do we overcome them and get victory when we’re facing these kinds of temptations?

God is always faithful to provide a way out when we’re being tempted. Most times it pretty simple; we just need to make a decision to turn and walk away. There are times when even doing that can seem really, really hard. But if we truly want to please God and do the right thing, we will make the extra effort required.

(James 4:7 NKJV)  Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

God tells us that we need to resist the devil and when we do that, the devil will flee. This is truth. So many times we tend to complicate things, but the simplicity of God’s word always comes through if we follow it.

Stand up to the devil. Resist him and walk away from that thing that is tempting you. This will be a turning point in your life.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-18-12

(1 John 1:5 NKJV)  This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.

We serve a God who is perfect in all aspects. There is no darkness in Him.

He is not capable of lying or deceiving. He is pure and full of light.

How incredible is it that He would allow us to be called His own?

We have been given the opportunity of all opportunities; to become sons and daughters of the Most High God!

We should not take this lightly. Every breath that we breathe should be done with purpose and determination, to live our lives in a way that brings honor and glory to Him!

Thank God today for calling you to be one of His own.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-17-12

(Luke 23:35 NKJV)  And the people stood looking on. But even the rulers with them sneered, saying, “He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is the Christ, the chosen of God.”

Jesus came to save us from our sins. The rulers just didn’t get it and some people today just don’t get it.

It’s a simple message; so simple that even children can understand it. Jesus didn’t need to save Himself! Jesus was God in the flesh. It was His purpose all along to do what He did.

When they saw Christ on that cross they thought He was helpless and without power. They thought they had Him. But little did they know that what He was doing for the world, no other person could have done.

It took His righteous blood to wash away our sins. He did it for you and I, that we may have everlasting life with Him.

What an Awesome God we serve… He is so worthy of our praise today!

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-16-12

(Heb 4:12 NKJV)  For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Everyone once in a while I think about the power of God’s word. Not so much the power that it has to change lives, but more about how simply incredible it is in its entirety.

Every chapter, verse and word is intertwined with other chapters and verses in the other books, from beginning to end, in ways that man could never have conjured up or sorted out.

There are verses in the Old Testament that tie in perfectly with verses in the New Testament. There are verses in books of the Old Testament that also tie in perfectly with verses in other books of the Old Testament.

It’s so intricately woven together. Only God could have put it together the way it is. No human being, no matter how intelligent, could ever have pulled off something so complete and incredible.

If you’re not spending time in God’s word, you’re really missing out! God wants to speak into your spirit on a personal level and He does that through His word.

Do yourself a huge favor; if you’re not reading God’s word, do so. Don’t wait until tomorrow, next week or next month. Start today. You won’t regret it!

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-15-12

(Psa 50:15 NKJV)  Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.”

Don’t you just love how God is there for us? There is security and stability in knowing that the Creator of Heaven and Earth will deliver us!

Knowing the One who is there for us, who will deliver us, who is watching over us at all times, should cause us to walk in peace.

Think about this; if you are a parent, don’t you want to know what your child is up to 24-7? It’s natural for parents to want to know where their kids are and what they are up to; if they are eating right, sleeping enough, doing good in school, etc.?

With God it is the same. He is keeping His eye on us. His ear is listening at all times. He is very concerned about us for He is our Daddy!! Call on Him if you are in trouble today and let Him deliver You!!

Some people may say, “well, He doesn’t want to hear from me. I’ve turned my back on Him so many times. I knew He was trying to tell me to stay away from this very thing that has caused my problems and I ignored Him and did it anyway. I can’t go to Him now because I hurt Him and I don’t blame Him for not wanting me to ask for help…it’s my own fault I’m where I am today. So I must get myself out of this one.”

But remember that no matter how many times we fall, God loves us and will help us. Don’t run away from Him. We must run to Him and let Him deliver us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-14-12

(Mat 9:11-12 NKJV)  And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to His disciples, “Why does your Teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” {12} When Jesus heard that, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick“.

I want to share something with you today that is a very serious matter. This relates directly to the current state of the body of Christ and the way we see and treat others.

In order to get the point across as clearly and strongly as I can, I want to tell you a little story. Stories help us to see things more clearly sometimes. This might be a bit longer than normal, but I think you’ll see why by the end. So here we go…

Many years ago my family and I were attending a local church. We were there for the Sunday morning service and it was almost starting time. As people filed in and took their seats, a woman who had never been there before made her way through the doors and sat down.

Almost immediately a man got up from his seat and approached her, asking her to please leave because she wasn’t dressed appropriately. The lady was wearing a halter top and this seemed to offend some people because they deemed it to be inappropriate attire for church.

This woman had obviously never been there and had no idea that she was expected to dress a certain way. She came seeking God.

As she got up from her seat to leave, another man in the church intercepted her. He had seen and heard what had happened and offered her a seat next to him and his wife.

This second man showed her love whereas the first man, and those others who had also complained, showed her disdain and self-righteousness… not the love of Christ. They had looked down their noses at her because she didn’t fit the mold that they had established.

Sadly, things like this happen every single day across the globe, inside and outside of church buildings. It happens on the streets and in stores, in work places, in schools and anywhere else where we go.

Man has overstepped their bounds and decided who should and shouldn’t come to Christ, based on the way they are dressed or the way they look. People who have certain haircuts are judged. People wearing certain kinds of clothing are judged. People with certain kinds of tattoos or a certain number of them are judged.

People who drink, smoke or use drugs are judged. Adulterers, fornicators and homosexuals are judged and deemed unworthy to enter the doors of the church. Prostitutes, strippers, gang members… they’re all judged and looked down upon.

This is a travesty… a pity. These are the very people who need to find the love and forgiving power of Christ, yet the church turns them away because they don’t fit the mold.

It’s time for the body of Christ to get over itself and realize that without God’s grace every single one of us could be in those very same shoes.

(1 Cor 15:10 NKJV)  But by the grace of God I am what I am…

Is the behavior of the sinners pleasing to God? Absolutely not. Sin is sin. But it’s the sinner that needs forgiveness and we are supposed to be the vessels through which God’s love and forgiveness flow!!

Church, we need to get on our knees and beg God to forgive us and then ask Him to give us a new heart… a heart for the lost. It’s time for us all to stop putting on airs and start putting on the righteousness of Christ, not our own righteousness, and start seeing the sinner for who they are… lost souls needing love and forgiveness.

This is what we were put here for.
