Bible Verse of The Day – 10-3-12

(2 Cor 5:14-15 NKJV)  For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; {15} and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.

Jesus Christ died once, for all. For everyone. For me and for you.

It doesn’t matter what you have done. It doesn’t matter what different kinds of sin you have been involved in. Jesus died to take those sins away. You just need to believe it.

Are you trapped in sin today? Have you done things that you’re ashamed of? Do you think that you can never be forgiven?

Let me state very clearly that Jesus died for you. He died for your sins. He died to bring you forgiveness, so you won’t have to live in guilt any longer. His blood was shed to set you free.

Is this speaking to you? You can be set free today, right now. There’s no magic formula to make it happen. It’s not complicated. You don’t need to be in a church building or anywhere special. You can have forgiveness right here, right now.

Pray this simple prayer:

God, I know I am a sinner. I believe Jesus died on the cross for me. Please forgive my sins and make me a new creation. Wash me clean with the blood of Jesus. Help me to turn from my sinful ways and live my life for you. Thank you for loving me. Amen

Congratulations! If you have prayed this prayer and meant it sincerely, you are now a child of God! Your past sins have now been washed away and forgiven. Today is a new day for you. You now have a place in heaven and your name is written in the Lamb’s book of life.

If you have prayed this prayer, please reply to this email and tell us about it. We want to know so we can celebrate with you and help you in your new life as a child of God!

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-2-12

(Gal 5:17 NKJV)  For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.

We often wonder why we did the very thing that we have repented for, over and over again. This scripture explains how the flesh will war against the Spirit because they are opposite of each other. The flesh is not good; it has the desire to sin, it loves sin. It is an ongoing battle if we do not learn how to crucify it.

The only way to stop the flesh is to kill it… crucify those fleshly desires. How do we do this? We tell it NO! We ask God to deliver us and take the desire away. As we surrender them to God, He will help us.

What are the desires of the flesh?

(Gal 5:19-21 NKJV)  adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, {20} idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, {21} envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

We may try to hide it from our friends and loved ones, but God knows and sees it all.

What are the desires of the Spirit?

(Gal 5:22-23 NKJV) love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, {23} gentleness, self-control.

In order to walk in the Spirit we have to kill, or crucify the desires of the flesh daily! (Gal 5:24 NKJV)  And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

So in this daily battle with our flesh, how do we defeat it? We simply need to learn to say NO!

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-1-12

(Mat 26:39-40 NKJV)  He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.”

I often think about this verse and wonder exactly what Jesus was feeling inside, knowing that this was the very thing He was destined for, to face death on the cross at the hands of the Roman soldiers.

Despite being God in the flesh, He was also here on earth in human form, where He experienced everything that we experience; joy, sorrow, hope, and disappointment… all of the emotions we experience on a daily basis.

But through this terrible ordeal, He chose to do what was right. He chose to die the cruelest of deaths on the cross and to redeem mankind, you and me, from our sins.

I am thankful for His sacrifice. I am thankful that He took my place. I am thankful that my soul and my salvation have been bought and paid for by His blood.

If you have grown lukewarm in your walk, stop and consider what was given for you… the price that was paid to redeem you. Let it sink in and penetrate your spirit.

If we can truly start to understand this, we will see so many things in a different light.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-29-12

(Prov 8:32 NKJV)  “Now therefore, listen to me, my children, For blessed are those who keep my ways.

I bet we can all agree that it takes discipline and sacrifice on our part to keep God’s ways. No matter where we go there is temptation. We can’t run or hide from it.

If we would let God change our hearts and desires, it wouldn’t be so hard to resist when the temptation comes. But that’s the sacrifice we must make, letting God get rid us of the things in us that cause us to be tempted.

We have to make a decision within our heart and be determined to want to give up what ever it is that keeps pulling us in.

God wants us to do the right thing in our daily walk with Him. He wants us to make the necessary changes in our lives so that we may be blessed!

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-28-12

(Eph 4:29 NKJV)  Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.

Gossip. Sarcasm. Cynicism. Negativity. Doubt. And other things similar.

Are we falling into letting these types of things come out of our mouths on a regular basis?

God has taught us that the words out of our mouths need to be edifying and encouraging. We are to speak truth, but not in ways that carry any of the attributes above.

Jesus addressed some pretty heavy things in people’s lives, but He never did it in a way that tore the person down. Yes, He would confront sin and expose it, but He did it with love, mercy and compassion, allowing that person to see themselves. He didn’t leave the person feeling like they had just been punished by the school principal or headmaster.

It’s pretty easy to become negative, especially if our personality tends to be negative to begin with. But God wants us to let Him change what’s on the inside of us and teach us to speak words of faith and encouragement.

If we will let Him do this in us we will see some incredible changes in our life and the lives of those around us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-27-12

(Gal 6:1 NKJV)  Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted.

Do we know anyone who has fallen or backslidden?

How have we handled it? Have we continued to love them and pray for them, or have we turned away from them and written them off, or snubbed them because we were disappointed with them or ashamed of them?

This is very easy to do. We all make this mistake sometimes, being too quick to judge someone who has fallen into sin. For some reason, the church today has become less compassionate than we should be.

Sin is never acceptable, but we are all guilty and none of us has “arrived”. So it’s time for us all to put love, mercy and compassion back into our daily walk! We need to love the backslider just as much as the person who has never known the forgiveness of Christ.

The church should not be full of mean-hearted people. We should love unconditionally and forgive quickly, restoring the backslidden gently and compassionately.

Love always wins.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-26-12

(Eph 5:25 NKJV)  Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her…

We must understand that the behavior of mistreating women is not coming from God. It is pure evil.

Women, you are precious in God’s sight and you need not be abused. Your husband is to love you the way God has ordered him to do, not beat you or talk down to you, not look at you like you are a piece of property. Take a stand today and in the name of Jesus, rebuke and bind the evil spirit that is trying to belittle and abuse you.

Let us stand together and pray today for the women in this world that suffer from abusive situations and for those that are in the midst of it.

Let us pray for the men that think it is OK to abuse their wives. May God help them to see their wrong, and in doing so allow God to change them.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-25-12

(1 Cor 13:1-3 NKJV)  Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. {2} And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. {3} And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.

There are so many things we should do as believers and followers of Christ. We should give, we should help others, we should be kind, we should encourage.

We can possess many spiritual gifts and use them all for the sake of the kingdom of God.

We can reach out to people on a daily basis and do mighty works with our hands, our feet and our resources.

But if we do any or all of these without love, they are meaningless in the eyes of God.

Love can be a hard concept when we start to understand that we need to love without boundaries, without conditions and without any kind of prejudice or judgment whatsoever.

But we are commanded to love! It is not optional.

Once we get this and let God pour this into us, we will have a different outlook on everything around us.

Let God show you how to love with HIS love.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-24-12

(Mat 10:36 NKJV)  “and ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’

Are we going through family turmoil in our homes, within our church family, or in our work place, etc.? Well, don’t let it take you by surprise. God’s Word shows us that we don’t have to look very far to find enemies; they can be right in our own backyard.

It’s very hard when we have family members, close friends or co-workers that cause trouble for us, simply because they don’t agree with who we have chosen to be in Christ or how we choose to handle things.

It’s possible they are just plain jealous because good things are happening in our lives and they can’t handle it. But we can’t let them stop us from doing what is right and being all that Christ calls us to be.

We have to be alert, stand our ground, be who God has called us to be, and keep moving forward with love!!

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-22-12

(Gen 3:8 NKJV)  And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.

Adam and Eve hid themselves from God when they realized their sin. They were afraid to face Him because they knew that what they had done was wrong.

God sought them out and they admitted their mistake, but only when God made them face it.

How many of us do the same thing? When we sin do we run and hide from God? Are you running from God today? Are you hiding from God right now?

God wants you to come out from your hiding place and confess your sins before Him.

Why? Because he wants to forgive you and help you overcome the things in your life that cause you to sin!

Don’t run any longer. Get before God and let Him forgive your sins and wipe them away. Let Him give you a fresh start and a new lease on life.

Running and hiding will never fix anything. Facing our sin and letting God help us overcome it will be life-changing.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-21-12

(Jude 1:2 NKJV)  Mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.

We’d like to take today and thank you all for helping us with Seven Seas Ministries’ Bible Verse of The Day!

We are so appreciative of you and your support. We can not do this without you. We have realized that this world is full of hurting, hungry, homeless, lost, struggling people.

Since we started the Bible Verse of The Day, many people have written to us and told us how they have been saved, healed, delivered, how they have grown closer to God and how marriages have been restored!

You have been right their with us, reaching out to all those in need as you continue to lift us up in prayer, as you encourage us to keep going and as you send in your financial support.

This ministry started with one person on our mailing list and has grown tremendously. We can’t even keep track of how many actually get the verses each day because we send it to the ones who have signed up to receive it and many have told us they forward it to others.

God is doing a MIGHTY work and we are so honored to be a part of what He is doing! We Are Giving Him All The Glory!!

Today, from our hearts, we pray the verse above, with sincerity, for each one of you!

Thank you and may you continue to draw closer to God!

Love in Christ,

Pastor Curt and Pastor Ellie
