Bible Verse of The Day – 11-12-12

(Colossians 3:15 NKJV)  And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.

As we enter into a new week let us let peace rule in our hearts.

Know that stress, chaos, confusion, irritations, and frustrations will always be present. But we don’t have to fall into their trap and let them have a place in our hearts.

God’s Word says to let PEACE rule. Anything that rules means it exhorts control, it exercises authority or power over, and it dominates. We may have to fight to keep the peace of God ruling in our heart, but it will be well worth it.

Walk in peace this week, and be thankful, for we serve an AWESOME Father who cares deeply about us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-10-12

(Mat 5:14 NKJV)  “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.”

You are the light of the world!

Do you know who this is referring to? You!

Do you know who said this? Jesus did!

Let me tell you right now that Jesus meant this when he said it. We, followers of Christ, are the light of the world because we have God’s spirit in us.

He has given us His spirit and made us His light so we can share His light and His love with those around us.

This is not the time to be downtrodden. This is not the time to be afraid or depressed. This is the time to be a light to this world that is so full of darkness.

Let us draw so close to God that we emanate His presence wherever we go.

Press into Him. Let Him take your fears and turn them into faith, and as your faith grows let His light in you shine on those all around you.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-9-12

(2 Tim 2:13 NKJV)  If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.

There are very few people or things that can truly be counted on to be there 100% of the time when we need them to be. But there is one exception to that rule and He is God.

God will never, ever let us down. Men and women will let us down. Friends and relatives will let us down and disappoint us. Employers will let us down. Leaders will let us down. But God will never let us down or disappoint us.

Sometimes it’s hard to understand why things happen the way they do. Nobody will ever understand the things that come along in life. Sometimes it’s hard to know why God allows things to take place.

But He does allow things to happen and no matter how we might feel about them, He is still in control. He is faithful.

So today, no matter how concerned you might be about the current state of things, whether it is your country, your job, your family, or whatever else you might see as a big problem, know deep in your heart that God is faithful above all else.

He will never fail.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-8-12

(Isa 41:10 NKJV)  Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

God’s Word this today is speaking to each one of us that is walking in fear. If we have fear, then it’s impossible to have faith. If we let fear take over our hearts and minds, it will consume us. It is a huge distraction. It will cause us to not want to speak when we are prompted by God to speak. It will keep us from being a light to those around us.

Today let’s check ourselves ask God if we are afraid of anything. If we realize that we have been afraid of certain things, ask God to give us understanding and wisdom on how to overcome this fear that we may be having.

Let us pray together.

Dear God in Heaven,

I come to You this day and have realized that I have been walking in fear regarding…………..(tell Him what your fears are). I want to ask you today to help me overcome this fear. Right now. I  repent of being fearful at times and I command this fear to leave me, in Jesus’ name. I ask that You help me to walk in Your peace and by faith, knowing that You are going to take care of all my concerns as I put my trust in YOU!!

Lord thank You for Your peace that surpasses all understanding and may I walk each day by Faith and help others to know of Your faithfulness.

I ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen

We are in agreement with you today that you are going to walk by faith and not fear, and if the temptation of fear comes your way, rebuke it in Jesus’ name.

Know that God will uphold you!!

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-7-12

(Mat 5:8 NKJV)  Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.

The pure in heart…what does that mean? How do we become “pure in heart” in God’s eyes?

There are two aspects to this. There is the spiritual side, the things that aren’t tangible. And there is the natural side, the things that are tangible.

I will try to keep this brief, so please bear with me as we walk through this together.

When we become followers of Christ, when we accept Him in faith as our savior, we become pure in heart (in a spiritual sense) simply because we’re washed in the blood of Jesus.

But in the natural, we can still be very impure in our hearts. This is where we need God to help us clean ourselves up. This is where it takes God’s spirit, God’s teaching and God’s correction to help us see the things in our lives that need to be changed, so we become pure in heart in a natural sense.

So what does this mean, and how do we do it?

We do it one little step at a time! It starts with little things, like maybe watching what comes out of our mouths. God helps us clean up our language and the way we talk. This would include things like swearing, gossiping, etc.

Then He might show us something else that He wants to help us with, like the things that we take in with our eyes and our ears. Movies, TV & Music play a huge part in our lives these days. TV and movies are no longer family-friendly and most of it isn’t God-friendly.

I know these are touchy subjects with a lot of people, but the impact that these things have on our lives is incredibly huge. And many of us don’t fully realize how big the impact is. We also don’t realize what we’re subjecting ourselves to.

Now think about this and take this very seriously, because it’s vital to us becoming pure in heart! If we have accepted Christ as our savior, this means that we have the Holy Spirit (God’s Spirit) living in us. He is with us everywhere we go. He sees everything we see and He hears everything we hear.

So we need to understand fully that if we watch a movie or a TV show with immoral images, we’re subjecting God to this. If we hear or listen to things in a movie, a TV show or in music that are contrary to God’s word or are not pleasing to God, we are subjecting God to it too.

Once we really start to get understanding in this, and we truly want to please God, we will start being more careful about what we watch and what we listen to.

Now don’t take this wrong. We are not saying that Christians shouldn’t watch movies or listen to music artists that aren’t Christians, but it does mean that we need to use discernment and let God guide us when it comes to what we choose to watch or listen to.

Our choices in these areas will go a very long way toward helping us to become pure in heart, even in the natural!

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-6-12

(Mat 10:14 NKJV)  “And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet.

It’s hard for some people to receive the truth, but we as God’s chosen people must live it, breathe it and share it as the opportunity arises. We cannot pretend and sit back and act like we don’t know what is going on around us; we must speak the truth as needed.

Is it going to cause problems?  Maybe sometimes it will, but we can’t let that stop us. If we run into situations where people will not hear us or receive what we have shared, then as this verse says, shake it off and move on.

Some of us today need to say some things that will bring healing and freedom to some people’s lives and their situations, but we are struggling with fear; fear of an argument, fear of rejection, fear of intimidation, etc.

We must rebuke the fears today in Jesus’ name and say what God has given us to say. If it is God’s timing and He is prompting us, we don’t need to be afraid.

People may react the opposite of what we expect, but always obey God and He will lead us. The truth spoken in love is what people need to hear.

(John 8:32 NKJV)  “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-5-12

(Phil 2:14 NKJV)  Do all things without complaining and disputing…

Are you a grumbler or a complainer? I know I used to be. I would grumble about lots of little things!

And then God got ahold of me. He showed me that my grumbling was affecting my outlook on life. It was also a terrible witness to those around me.

My personality made it very easy for me to fall into the trap of grumbling because I like everything to be just so. But God had to teach me to lighten up and find the good in things, not just what was wrong.

I am still a work in progress and I need to be reminded sometimes to watch what I think and what I say, but it sure is better not to always be looking at the wrong and not seeing the right!

Watch yourself today. Let God show you if you’re being a grumbler or if you’re ungrateful for what you have. You’ll be surprised at how many times you catch yourself complaining about even the littlest things, instead of being thankful.

God wants us to be His light and we can’t be a light if we’re full of negativity!

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-3-12

(John 13:23 NKJV)  Now there was leaning on Jesus’ bosom one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved.

Could you just imagine laying your head on Jesus’ bosom?

When I was a child I would often sit on the couch and lay my head on my mom or dads chest. Sometimes I would just listen to the beat of their heart; it was so fascinating to me as a child to hear it beat.

Now that I am older, I lay my head on my husband’s chest and listen to his heart beat. It is an amazing thing and I still get fascinated by it.

One morning, as I was praying, I remembered this verse and I thought to myself that disciple that had his head on Jesus’ chest could have actually heard the heart beat of the Messiah if he wanted to. That’s how close he was; the heartbeat of God in the flesh! He was that close to Him. What an awesome relationship to be that close to His heart.

I prayed that morning, as I was pondering on this scripture, how I want my relationship with the Messiah to be that close. I may not be able to hear His heartbeat from laying my head on His chest. But, I want to know the sound of His heart by reading His Word and meditating on it day and night.

God’s heart is revealed through His Words

Let us all know the heart of God today, for our family, for our children, for our world and let us pray.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-2-12

(Rev 22:20 NKJV)  He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!

Of the entire Bible, this verse intrigues me more than any other verse.

There is something about it that keeps echoing inside my spirit. For years this has stuck with me, especially the final line, “Even so, come Lord Jesus!”

This is such an impactful statement of finality… Come, Lord Jesus. Everything is completed, the world is yours, come now and possess what is rightfully yours; what you died for.

These words stir me inside like no others.

Let God speak to you today and stir you inside with His words. Let Him breathe new life into your weary soul. Let Him encourage you and lift you up.

He is your God and you are His child.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-1-12

(3 John 1:2 NKJV)  Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

We just wanted you all to know how much you bless us.

Each night as we sit and prepare the Bible Verse of The Day to go out to thousands of people all across this world, we think of the one. The one that is hurting, the one that is lonely, the one that may be suffering in any way, the one that is struggling to know and feel God’s love.

It is only by the Spirit of God that each need is met and each heart is touched. We get letters and emails from all over… of how God touched that ONE; How He is changing their lives, changing their hearts, healing their bodies, and opening doors for huge opportunities!  It is God!

He loves you, and He wants you to prosper in ALL things!

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-31-12

(1 Ki 19:11-12 NKJV)  Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the LORD.” And behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake; {12} and after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice.

A still small voice. How fitting is it that God, who is all-powerful, would choose to speak to us in a still small voice?

But He does! He speaks to us in such subtle ways that we often miss it. Missing it usually means that we make bad decisions or poor choices and these usually cost us on one way or another.

God wants us to learn to hear Him. Why? Because He wants us to put some effort into and learn to operate in FAITH! If God spoke to us with a booming voice or ominous thunder it would require absolutely no faith at all on our part. That’s not how He operates.

Here’s a story about a time when God “spoke to me” at least 3 times in a single day and I missed Him, and it cost me dearly in many ways. Please read through this because there is a lesson to be learned!

Several years ago I was planning a fishing outing with some friends at a local lake. We had done some rough planning ahead of time, but when it came to the day of the event, it just didn’t seem like it was falling into place very easily.

Well, we pushed forward anyway and we all went to the lake for some fishing. We got to the lake and the conditions were terrible. But I ignored it and went fishing anyway.

About 45 minutes into the fishing trip, I had this ominous feeling that I needed to go back to the boat launch and check our vehicles. I ignored it and kept fishing.

A little while later I had a nauseous feeling that I couldn’t explain. I ignored it and kept fishing.

Still, a third time, I had this terrible feeling that I needed to quit fishing and go back to check my vehicle. I ignored it and kept fishing.

After fishing for the number of hours that we had pre-planned, we returned to the boat launch. And we found that all of our vehicles had been broken into, including my brand new truck that had only 1,000 miles on it. Windows were smashed and items had been stolen.

Needless to say, this was costly in terms of money and inconvenience. Had I listened and never gone to the lake to begin with, I would have avoided this. Had I heeded God’s promptings and listened as I was urged to return to the launch to check my vehicle or leave entirely, I would have avoided this.

This was a valuable lesson for me several years ago. I learned from it.

God wants us to hear Him. We just need to learn to hear Him.

He is talking. Are we listening?
