Bible Verse of The Day – 12-20-12

(Proverbs 2:7-8 NKJV)  He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly; {8} He guards the paths of justice, And preserves the way of His saints.

God is our protection, and our shield. Don’t be afraid…but stand strong in His wisdom and His might!

Know that our God can handle anything that tries to take us out or take us down.

Stay close to Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-19-12

(1 Cor 13:12 NKJV)  For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.

We see in a mirror, dimly. We know in part.

There are a lot of things that we don’t know and don’t have answers to. There are so many questions that we’d like to ask God and have perfect answers for. There are many things that we may not understand.

But it’s OK if we don’t always have answers to all of our questions. There are some things that we may never understand. And there are other things that we just plain don’t need to know, even though we might think we deserve answers.

God is just. He is righteous, holy and true. He knows everything and He knows what we should know and what we shouldn’t know. He knows what is good for us, even when we think we know better.

Sometimes we run into situations and they just don’t seem to make sense to us. We don’t understand how something can be the way it is. But it’s alright if we don’t always understand. We’re not meant to have all the answers.

And anyone who always has an answer for every question that comes their way should not be trusted. It’s OK to tell someone “I don’t know”. It’s better to be honest and humble than to lie and be proud.

Being OK with not always having an answer is a good sign of our faith that God has it all under control. Because one day we will see Him face to face and all things will be known.

Until then we just need to trust Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-18-12

(John 14:6 NKJV)  Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Today we want to share with you that God is reachable. We don’t have to go through a man, a woman or anyone else to get to God.

If we have received Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we have the freedom to talk to God anytime, anywhere, for anything and He will hear our prayers. His Son, Jesus Christ, has made the way for us.

We don’t have to wait until Sunday, Wednesday night Bible Study or Saturday night service. Whenever we need God, we just talk to Him, knowing that He will answer our prayer. God is faithful!

If you need to talk to Him today, open your heart and let it out…He is waiting.

Put some time aside today and talk to your Daddy.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-17-12

(John 15:5 NKJV) “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

Without Him, I am nothing. This is not symbolic. It is not deeply spiritual. It is not hyperbole. It is plain, simple truth.

Without Christ I am nothing more than a mere human being with mere human traits, strengths and weaknesses.

I am a sinner, a frail human with tendencies to fail… not just once, but many times. This is not to say that I don’t try to do my best or try my hardest. I do try. But in my own strength I am not capable of overcoming much of anything.

But it doesn’t end there. You see, I have Christ in me! And in Him I can do all things!

(Phil 4:13 NKJV) I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Despite my desperate, miserable self, God saw fit to take my place on the cross, in the form of Jesus Christ, to pay the price for my sins, my failures and my shortcomings.

Because I have accepted what He did for me and taken on a personal relationship with Him, I am no longer just that frail human I described above. I am a new creation, with God dwelling in me through the Holy Spirit.

So I am no longer on my own or operating solely on my own strength or understanding. With God in me I can do all things and overcome all things. And what’s better… you can do all things if you have Christ in you too!

Take heart today, that He has not left us to fight our battles all alone.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-15-12

(Ephesians 5:24 NKJV)  Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.

Some of the problems we have today in many homes are because we don’t understand the order which God gives us as husband and wife. God has called the husband to be the leader of the home. All men… know that you are the leader. There are no questions nor excuses about this; it is what God wants for the home.

What happens sometimes is that a man that is not aggressive, a little slow moving or with a tendency to be relaxed marries a woman that is more forward and aggressive, with a take-charge personality. The woman ends up taking on the leadership role in the home and in the relationship.

This still does not give men the right to sit back and let the wife do everything, even if she doesn’t mind it. This is out of God’s order and problems will occur.

It’s not meant for the woman to do it all and to carry the load. It is meant for the man to do his part and lead, and the woman should follow his leading and help, as needed, in a balanced way.

Remember… God does not make mistakes. It is important we are diligent in what God gives us. Men are responsible for their position and women are responsible for theirs. If the Woman is playing the man’s role what happens to her role? It get’s neglected. Something will be neglected.

Men, today you need to stand in your position and lead. Women, you need to take your position and both need to be supporting and helping each other to stay in the order which God has set for each one.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-14-12

(Genesis 32:24-28 NKJV)  Then Jacob was left alone; and a Man wrestled with him until the breaking of day. {25} Now when He saw that He did not prevail against him, He touched the socket of his hip; and the socket of Jacob’s hip was out of joint as He wrestled with him. {26} And He said, “Let Me go, for the day breaks.” But he said, “I will not let You go unless You bless me!” {27} So He said to him, “What is your name?” He said, “Jacob.” {28} And He said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel; for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed.”

Jacob wrestled with the angel of God. He spent his energy to prevail. He did not rely on someone else to do it for him!

Because of Jacob’s persistence, the angel blessed him. Had Jacob given up, he would never have received God’s blessing. He would have limped away with nothing more than what he had before, except a displaced hip socket.

We need to be more like Jacob and so many others in God’s word who struggled, wrestled and persisted until they heard from God!

It’s not always about getting what we want. More often, it’s about pressing into God and waiting on Him, not making any moves until we hear from Him.

We can’t rely on others to do this for us. We can ask others to help us learn, but when push comes to shove, we bear the responsibility of building our relationship with God.

Press into Him. Pull on Him. Wait on Him. Do whatever it takes to know Him better and walk more closely with Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-13-12

(Psalm 17:7 NKJV)  Show Your marvelous lovingkindness by Your right hand, O You who save those who trust in You From those who rise up against them.

Do you know that having to trust God for something isn’t a bad thing?

When we share with people about what we are trusting God for, we shouldn’t be sad or doom and gloom about it. We may think, “but I have been trusting God for a new home for some time now. I have been trusting God to save my sister, and my family members.”

Some of us may be trusting God for a new job or financial breakthrough. Maybe we are trusting God for a healing over ourselves or someone dear to us.

It’s a good thing that we are trusting God and not anyone or anything else. It is He that will bring us victory over our situation or our circumstances. If we are not trusting Him for something then something is wrong.

Trusting God for something should be exciting!! Waiting on Him to reveal His plan should cause us to rejoice even more, because we are not waiting on just anyone…we are waiting on the ONE! The Omnipotent, Jehovah, the Alpha & Omega, the Creator of this World! This is who we put our trust in.

Find something today to trust God for either for yourself or for someone else. Find a need and trust God to fulfill it. He will save us from those situations or problems trying to rise up against us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-12-12

(Genesis 12:1 NKJV)  Now the LORD had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you… 12:4  So Abram departed as the LORD had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran.

Go into a land that I will show you.

Can you imagine God speaking to you right where you are, at this moment in time, and telling you to leave and go away, but then not telling you where to go to?

How many of us would trust God enough to actually do what He tells us to do?

I believe that no matter where we think we’re at in our walk with God, if He told us to leave and go somewhere, but He didn’t tell us where we were to go, we would probably freak out and run the other way.

Faith can be a funny thing. So many times we think we’re walking in faith. We’re sailing through life and sincerely believing we are walking by faith, but then something unexpected comes our way and suddenly our “faith walk” stumbles and falls down!

Faith isn’t something that we can easily define or understand. It’s something that comes as we move forward with God and learn to trust Him. But it is something that we can ask God to help us grow.

Let’s ask God to help us grow our faith.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-11-12

(Acts 12:8 NKJV)  Then the angel said to him, “Gird yourself and tie on your sandals”; and so he did. And he said to him, “Put on your garment and follow me.”

To gird yourself means to prepare (oneself) for action. Peter was in prison when the angel came to him and told him to gird himself. Peter did what the angel told him and he walked right out of the prison.

Can you imagine being in that place and having an angel come and lead you out? Wow! I would hope that I wouldn’t be in total shock and miss my opportunity. Peter did what the Angel told him to do even though part of him was not sure what was happening, (Acts 12:11) he didn’t try to figure it all out… he just listened and moved and walked right out of the prison, undetected and untouched.

Today, what is God trying to tell us? Is He trying to set us free from what is keeping us in prison, bondage, slavery, etc.? And are we so busy trying to figure it out, that we aren’t moving, we aren’t girding ourselves? Are we still in prison, locked in chains because the way God wants to set us free doesn’t make sense to us?

We need to gird ourselves today, prepare for action and move forward, following Christ’s plan for our release.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-10-12

(2 Tim 2:19 NKJV)  Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”

As I sat here today, searching for a topic for the Bible Verse of The Day, I wanted to do a message that was positive, encouraging and uplifting. We know that many people are going through tough times right now and there seem to be battles on every front.

But no matter where I looked, I kept seeing the same theme and the same message, over and over again. And it was not something that most people would consider to be “uplifting”, in the natural sense of the word.

What I kept seeing was this: Let the body of Christ depart from her sinful ways… let her keep herself pure.

So I gave in and submitted to God to share this with you today.

We are His bride. We belong to Him. He desires for us to be pure… removed from iniquity in our lives. This might not seem like a very encouraging word at first. It might seem heavy or condemning. But it’s truly not either of those things.

God wants the very best for us! Now that is encouraging. He wants our lives to be the very best they can be and that is not possible when they are full of sin, the very thing that separates us from Him.

Be encouraged today… encouraged in the fact that God loves enough to tell us what’s right for us and what’s not.

So let’s examine our lives, sincerely and honestly, and let God show us those things that He wants removed. Then we can move forward knowing that we are pleasing Him in every possible way.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-8-12

(Gen 39:2-3 NKJV)  The LORD was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. {3} And his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD made all he did to prosper in his hand.

The way to prosperity is through submission… submission to God, wherever He puts us and whoever He puts us under. Submission, that wonderful word, means – “an act of submitting to the authority or control of another”.

In the book of Genesis we read how Joseph prospered. Joseph was very submissive to God and those God put him under.

Take some time to read about Joseph’s life, starting at Genesis 36:3. Joseph went through some hard times in his life, but in the end it all worked together for good.

Here is just a little summary. Joseph’s brothers were jealous of him and wanted to kill him, but they ended up selling him into slavery instead. He was bought for a man name Potiphar and Joseph served him. Potiphar was Joseph’s master.

Potiphar’s wife made false accusations against Joseph and Joseph was sent to prison. He eventually got released from prison by interpreting a dream for Pharaoh and Joseph was eventually set up in charge of all of Egypt.

No matter where Joseph was or what he was doing, he prospered. Even in the not so good places. Joseph did not run from his situation, but stuck it out and waited on God to deliver him. Submission brings Victory!!

Today you may be struggling and want to run from the place God has you in. But, these are the times we need to submit and see our situation through to the end.

God will prosper us in His timing and when He sees we are ready.
