Bible Verse of The Day – 1-28-13

(Romans 1:27 NKJV)  Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

We would like to share what the Bible says about men being with men in a sexual, lustful way. Right now, here in RI (where we live), they are trying to pass a law stating that gay marriage is accepted by law.

As followers of Christ, the most important thing that we need to remember about living in this society and in this world is that man can pass laws and say that certain things are acceptable. But, we as God’s children, the children of the Most High, must line it up and compare it with what He says. It is His Word that matters the most.

If God is saying that something is shameful to Him, yet the state in which we live says it’s Ok to participate in such things, we need to choose God’s word over state law.

If you know someone today who is struggling in this area, we want to remind you to pray for them, to not judge them, and to continue to show them God’s love. But don’t be afraid to speak the truth and let them know your stance on the matter, when or if the door opens. That doesn’t mean we beat them up over it. But, it also doesn’t mean that we allow them to water down what we know is God’s truth.

God’s Word is what it is and it does not change for anyone or any certain situation. Whether it’s a best friend or family member, or someone that has chosen to pursue the same sex because of bad relationship experiences in the past, etc., wrong is wrong and right is right.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-26-13

(Acts 3:6-7 NKJV)  Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” {7} And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

We seem to have touched on the subject of tests and trials a lot this week and I’m sure it wasn’t by coincidence that this happened. There are definitely many in the body of Christ who need God’s miraculous hand on their lives. And we’re included in that with everyone else.

We have shared with everyone about our prayer requests and we have lifted you up before God in prayer also.

Now we want to take that next step. We could simply pray for you and then walk away and leave you to your own devices, hoping you see the hand of God move upon you.

But today, as Peter did with the lame man at the gate called Beautiful, we reach out to you in spirit and take hold of your hand, lifting you up to your feet, and we command you to rise up and walk, in the name of Jesus!!

Don’t sit and wait for God to pick you up. Receive His healing, His victory and His provision and get up and move! Walk, leap and dance, giving God the glory and praise!

We can sit and feel bad for ourselves, wondering what tomorrow will bring, or we can trust God for a breakthrough and heed His voice and take action when He says to.

Let God speak to you today. As we grab hold of your hand and lift you up, receive what He has for you, in the name of Jesus!

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-25-13

(Matthew 26:73-75 NKJV)  And a little later those who stood by came up and said to Peter, “Surely you also are one of them, for your speech betrays you.” {74} Then he began to curse and swear, saying, “I do not know the Man!” Immediately a rooster crowed. {75} And Peter remembered the word of Jesus who had said to him, “Before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” So he went out and wept bitterly.

Peter told Jesus that he would never stumble… he would never deny Him. He had meant it when he said it, but he had no idea what was ahead.

Jesus was arrested and taken away. Peter ran in fear and made his way to where Jesus was being held. And ultimately, he denied knowing Jesus three times, insisting that he didn’t know Him.

You might think that this would be the last we would hear of Peter. But that’s not the case! Peter went on to be a mighty man of God, being used in a very big way to spread the gospel after Jesus ascended to heaven.

How many times have we each messed up and let God down in some way? How many times have you personally wondered how God could even love you, never mind use you?

It would be safe to say that we have all thought about this at some point, and most likely maybe even many times. I know I have.

But God is forgiving and merciful. He takes our messes, our shortcomings and our mistakes and uses them for His glory! This isn’t to say that God likes it when we disappoint Him, but he can use these things to teach us valuable lessons that can then be used to teach others.

So instead of spending a lot of time looking at your mistakes and wondering why you made them, learn from them. Let God teach you through them and then let Him use you to help, teach and inspire others!

You’ll be amazed at how God can use even the littlest things in your life to help others.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-24-13

(Isaiah 40:31 NKJV)  But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

Are you waiting on the Lord for anything in particular? We are!

We are waiting for a huge breakthrough. We have seen signs of it and doors are opening up, but we are still waiting to see and hear of some things to complete it.

Whew…do we feel like hiding ourselves away somewhere so we don’t have to talk or deal with anyone at times? Yes. Do we feel like at times not getting up out of bed and facing what may come toward us that day? Yes!

This is normal when facing hard times and trying to make righteous decisions. Sometimes it may even cause nausea and exhaustion from spending time thinking and worrying and wanting to do the right thing. These are all symptoms of being in trials and tribulations.

Remember… we are all together; we are one body in Christ. While we are waiting on the Lord for our breakthrough, when we see someone going through trouble or hard times, let us take the initiative and pray for them as well.

Let us join in with them and wait together on the Lord for them to receive their victory too. As we wait on the Lord together, we shall renew our strength, we shall mount up with wings like eagles, we will run together and not be weary, we shall walk and not faint.

Together today, we need your prayers. As we pray for each one of you…please keep us in your prayers as well. We are ever so grateful for you all.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-23-13

(Luke 1:37 NKJV)  “For with God nothing will be impossible.”

There isn’t a single person reading this right now who isn’t going through some kind of trial, facing some kind of major decision in their life or waiting for a breakthrough of some kind.

Some of what we’re facing in self-inflicted, while other things are no fault of our own. Either way, with God nothing is impossible.

Are you seeking healing? God is our healer.

Are you in need of deliverance? God is our deliverer.

Are you in poverty? God is our source.

God is everything we need. With Him all things are possible.

This doesn’t mean that things come to us easily or instantly. We have to wait, most times, for the breakthrough to happen.

But there is one thing for sure, and it’s this; while we wait, and regardless of how long it takes, God will never, ever turn us away or forsake us.

Rest today, in knowing this.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-22-13

(Psalm 44:21 NKJV)  Would not God search this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart.

Let us talk about the heart today.

When we go before God in our prayers on a daily basis, He doesn’t only look at all the nice things we have done for others. It’s good that we do those things and show God’s love through our actions, but when it comes to God He looks at our heart condition. And that is what our first and foremost concern should be.

Knowing this today, we all need to take a good look at our heart and the secrets within. We need to do this, taking our eyes off the things we do for others, because what happens is that we take what we do for others and make that our identity. And this can overwhelm us, robbing us of the time we need to deal with the things in our own lives. This can cause us to never address the changes we need to make in order to improve our own heart condition.

For example; we are out in the world daily. Someone comes up to us and says some things to us and we smile and agree with them and shake their hand or even give them a hug.

Our outward expression can be a whole lot different then the way we are actually feeling on the inside. On the inside, we are thinking and feeling something completely different. This is what we need to pay attention to… what we are thinking on the inside, but not outwardly expressing. Those are secrets.

Let us carefully and prayerfully watch our inside thoughts and feelings today. Examine ourselves as we work with others and through out the day. We will begin to notice our own heart. That is what God sees… the secrets of our heart.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-21-13

(Revelation 15:8 NKJV)  The temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from His power…

(Revelation 21:23 NKJV)  The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light.

The glory of God is something we don’t her much about these days. We seem to hear more about spiritual gifts, miracles, prosperity, a positive mindset and so much more.

Most of those things have a place and should be taught (notice I said “most”), but the things is, if we don’t understand how powerful God is and how incredible His glory is, we are truly missing it.

We can have a lot of knowledge and understanding about any of the topics mentioned above, but if we are not completely awe-struck by the concept of God’s glory, we’re not in tune with God’s spirit.

God’s glory is more powerful than any lightning storm any of us has ever witnessed. His glory is more thunderous and breathtaking than any wind the earth has ever experienced. His glory is something that our minds can never completely comprehend, but we do need to get some kind of understanding about how powerful it is.

Think about this. His glory caused the temple to be filled with smoke! And His glory is all that is needed to light the holy city!

I am in complete awe when I think about God and His glory. Take a minute right now and meditate on God and His glory. And let that permeate your mind for the rest of today.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-19-13

(Matthew 18:21-22 NKJV)  Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” {22} Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven“.

We think we can hold grudges against people because they have done us wrong at times. But, this isn’t true. If we want the truth and we want to move on in grow in Christ, then we have to forgive those that have done us wrong.

Today, we are speaking to all us who have been upset and angry at someone in our lives, that have caused problems or hurt us in one way or another. Someone that has spoken bad at times against us or to us, maybe even spread false rumors about us and made people look at us in a different light.

It’s us that needs to forgive those people. No-one is making us feel anger or bitterness inside except our own selves. We are holding onto what they have done and not forgiving them and letting God heal us.

We need healing today. If we want healing, we need to forgive first and let God heal our brokenness.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-18-13

(Exodus 3:13-14 NKJV)  Then Moses said to God, “Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they say to me, ‘What is His name?’ what shall I say to them?” {14} And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.'”

I am who I am. What an awesome statement God made to Moses!

Moses asked God a question, hoping for an answer that would satisfy his own curiosities, as well as the questions he was sure to get from the Israelites. He said to God, “Who shall I say has sent me?”

Of course Moses was hoping for a clear-cut answer. But I love what God said to Him; “I am who I am”. Now that threw Moses off a bit. So he asked God again, “who shall I say has sent me?”

“I AM”. See, God doesn’t need to explain Himself to anyone. He doesn’t need to explain where He came from, why He does what He does, or How He became who He is. He Just Is.

God Just Is.

When I think about who God is, I think about that aspect of Him a lot. He Just Is. He doesn’t need to be explained. He Just Is. He doesn’t have to answer to anyone or bow to demands or commands. He Just Is.

If we can accept this fact and then trust Him for who He is, how much easier would our lives be? How much less would we stress and worry? How much more faith would we have in Him? How much stronger would we be as His children?

Think about that today and know that God Is Who He Is. And that’s enough.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-17-13

(Matthew 18:11 NKJV)  “For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost“.

We lost it! It was our doing in the garden.

That’s right… woman and man, man and woman. We messed up the plan as we disobeyed God, by eating of the fruit from the tree that was forbidden. It was not something to take lightly, that’s for sure. We were not going to have it easy after that ordeal.

Our relationship with Him was destroyed that day. But God, in all His Mercy and Goodness, sent His Son to save that which was lost. Our sinful nature was so bad; He could not be near us.  But, the love that He has for us saved us!

Thank you God, for your love for us and for Your  Son, who was willing to come and was crucified that we may be able to get back what was lost in the garden; our relationship with You!

As a young child, I always believed in God… that He was the Creator of this world. I believed that He loved me, and I believed He cared about me. But, that was not going to get me to Heaven or give me a relationship with Him.

What was going to get me to heaven was believing in His Son, Jesus Christ, and trusting in Him to live in me, to change me and make me the person He wants me to be.

Knowing about God has not saved me. Believing that God exists cannot save me. That’s not enough. What saved me and what saves us all is believing in His Son, Jesus Christ, and the sacrifice that He made for us on the cross.

We have a personal Savior that has made it right so we can walk with God once again. Believe in Him today, if you haven’t already; make the best decision you’ll ever make.

Choose Jesus Christ as your personal Savior!

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-16-13

(Matthew 23:12 NKJV)  “And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.

We live in a day and age when people tend to think more of themselves than we should. We are taught from a very young age to take pride in ourselves and our accomplishments.

Society as a whole has fallen into teaching children that they need to put themselves above others and have much esteem in their works.

Self esteem has become the big byword of the past couple of decades. This is exactly the opposite of what God teaches us.

God wants us to put Him first and ourselves after that. In fact, God prefers that we put others even before ourselves in many cases.

It’s very easy to be persuaded to follow the teachings of these modern times because we are inundated with it, day after day. But we don’t need to fall into the trap of the enemy and become prideful. For pride is the beginning of destruction and the enemy of God.

(Romans 12:3 NKJV)  For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.

Don’t let pride and thinking more highly of ourselves creep into our lives and become a part of us. Put God first and love Him above all else and He will help you prioritize everything else.
