Bible Verse of The Day – 1-11-24

Matthew 12:50 (NKJV) 50 For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother.”

Who does Jesus call His family? Those who do the will of His Father.

God’s family will go out of their way to do His will, without blinking an eye.

His family will not seek after their own desires before doing something for someone else. His family is selfless, always putting others before themselves.

God’s family is full of compassion; a caring people. They have a heart after Him. Full of love!

Jesus says, it is those who do the will of my Father in Heaven.

Let us keep our hearts open, and be there for our family, no matter the season we are in.  As we concern ourselves with them, He will carry us and deliver us from whatever we are going through.

Isaiah 46:4 (NKJV) 4 Even to your old age, I am He, And even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; Even I will carry, and will deliver you.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-10-24

Mark 14:13 (NKJV) 13 And He sent out two of His disciples and said to them, “Go into the city, and a man will meet you carrying a pitcher of water; follow him.

It’s important to pay attention to the little things as we read and study God’s word.

Sometimes little details can give us greater insight into God’s word and a stronger faith in Him.

The verse above is an example of this.

Jesus instructed two of His disciples to go into the city and watch for a man carrying a pitcher of water.

Then He told them to follow that man.

Wait. Did you catch that?

Jesus told them to go into the city. That doesn’t seem like a big deal. But He then told them specifically to look for a man carrying a pitcher of water.

Now, that’s a serious detail that He could have known only if He was truly God in the flesh. It was purely prophetic.

But wait. Look at what He told them next.

He said that as they followed that man, he would lead them to a specific place.

Mark 14:14-15 (NKJV) 14 Wherever he goes in, say to the master of the house, ‘The Teacher says, “Where is the guest room in which I may eat the Passover with My disciples?” ’ 15 Then he will show you a large upper room, furnished and prepared; there make ready for us.”

“He will show you a large upper room, furnished and prepared.”

Now I am fully blown away.

First, a man carrying a pitcher. Then, a room, fully furnished and prepared.

This is not something minor.

It may not begin to compare to Him dying for us on the cross. It doesn’t come close to the blood that He willingly spilled for mankind, to offer us forgiveness and redemption.

But consider the ramifications of these smaller details.

His disciples must have seen this and been in awe of Him as they lived and walked with Him daily. It could only strengthen their faith in Him as they saw these kinds of things repeated many times.

So, let’s look at ourselves.

How can we, as Children of God, not have incredible faith in Him when we begin to see and recognize details like these?

These kinds of revelations and understanding should help us move beyond the basics, so we begin to see God for who He is in a much deeper way.

Again, this is not necessarily a deep mystery of God. But it is significant enough that we should pay attention to it.

Let’s take the time necessary to study and discover God’s word in a most detailed manner. And watch Him grow us and transform us in ways that we might never have imagined could happen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-9-24

Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV) 10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

We all have fears or phobias we deal with at times.

Someone may be afraid of the dark.

Someone may be afraid of not being accepted.

Someone may be afraid of losing their home.

Someone may be afraid of not being able to be there for their children or grandchildren.

Someone may be afraid of losing their income.

So many things we could fear.

None of them are wrong or bad. The thing we need to make sure of is that we face them. We work at getting over the fears.

How do we face our fears?

We walk through them. We don’t accept them as part of our norm and just avoid them.

It wasn’t too long ago, I was so afraid to fly by myself.

But, when my family moved away, the only way I could see them as often as I wanted to was to get on that plane and fly.

So, it forced me to step out and face my fears.

The first time was hard. I remember sitting on the plane by myself, and my heart began to race, my head began to run with what if’s, and I was in total panic mode.

While sitting there, I took my hand and put it on my stomach, and I remember praying, “God help me”.

And within minutes I calmed down and was at peace. It was scary but, I thank God He was there to calm my nerves and remove the anxiety and fear I was dealing with.

You see, we take it one step at a time, and we face them.

If we don’t like the dark, try staying alone in it for a certain amount of time. And add to it each time, until it doesn’t bother us as much.

If we are afraid of losing our home for whatever reason, we should remind ourselves that even if it were to ever happen, it would all work out in whatever way it needed to.

Knowing that God is our help, and He is faithful, we will come through it no matter what.

If we are afraid of not being able to be there for our children, learn to trust God to be there for them. He is always there for us all. He never leaves us nor forsakes us.

If we are afraid to leave our home and go out in public for whatever reason, plan a day out with someone we know who understands our situation. Plan a date and just do a little something. Each time, try to go a little longer than the last.

Facing our fears is what will help us get past them. And if we don’t know how to face them, pray and ask God to guide us.

He is with us and willing to help us every step of the way.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-8-24

2 Timothy 2:15 (NKJV) 15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

The importance of staying in God’s word can’t be stressed nearly enough.

His word is the lifeblood that keeps us nourished and growing.

It is living, breathing and powerful.

Hebrews 4:12 (NKJV) 12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

And here’s a little something to meditate on; if a situation comes along that causes us to spend less time in His word than normal, we may begin to “lose our edge”. And it will likely happen more quickly than we might think.

If our time in His word decreases, we will begin to hunger after His word.

We will begin to long for our time in it. And we may even become frustrated with whatever it is that is robbing us of that time.

You see, His word helps us discern more quickly, more powerfully and more accurately.

His word fills our reservoir, so to speak. Without it we are empty and dry.

And His word is a weapon to be used against the onslaught of the enemy when he attacks us and tries to take us down.

1 Peter 5:8 (NKJV) 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

So, let us do whatever is necessary to take back our time in His word, being sure to fight against anything that tries to steal that time from us.

The fight may not be easy, but we will never regret doing it.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-7-24 – Be Still

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings, brothers and sisters in Christ!

Do we sometimes have a hard time being still and hearing God when we need to hear Him the most?

Tough situations can cause us to become frantic, and instead of being still and listening to God, we do the exact opposite.

In today’s new video, we teach about learning to be still and hear God’s voice, especially during times when we typically would be frantic and jumping around, searching for a solution to our problem.

We hope this video will shed some light on this problem and bring understanding in an area where we often struggle to get understanding and clarity.

Please click here to watch the video now.

We love you all very much!

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-6-24

Psalm 121:1-2 (NKJV) 1 I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? 2 My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.

Being careful not to idolize the one whom God uses to be there for us can be hard.

When someone helps us out of a devastating season or situation in our lives, it is hard not to want to lift them up in some way. It’s hard not to put them on a pedestal and praise them for what they did.

Because of the help they brought us, and the way it touched our hearts, it’s easy for us to take our eyes off the Lord, our Source, and put them on the messenger.

God uses people all the time to do certain things. That’s how He answers so many of our prayers and gets things done. He uses people in specific places.

No matter who the messenger is, the one who delivers it, God is our source. The one that He uses is only His instrument, and He will reward them accordingly.

We need to be grateful they obeyed, but not look at them as our rescuer.

This can also be a problem in the church today. If we are not careful, we can actually miss out on what God calls us to do simply because we don’t want to separate ourselves from the place or the person that God used to help us.

Don’t worship the messenger, but keep our eyes squarely on the One who created him or her to be used by Him. Don’t miss out on our calling because we are idolizing God’s messenger.

Remember, it’s the Lord that orchestrates it all, and He is worthy of our praise and loyalty!

Romans 11:36 (NKJV) 36 For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-5-24

Psalm 37:3-5 (NKJV) 3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. 4 Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.

From the very first page of Genesis, to the very last word of Revelation, there is one theme that stands out very clearly; trust God.

Our lives are nothing more than a never-ending series of scenes played out and a host of seasons that we walk through.

Those seasons bring many things. One of those things is change.

Seasons never last. They come. Then they go.

As part of walking through those various seasons, we encounter things that we are unfamiliar with and probably uncomfortable with.

How we react to those unfamiliar things will be based on a few different factors.

One of those factors is our personality type. Another factor is our willingness to learn and grow as a person, but more importantly as a follower of Christ.

The most important factor is how strongly we trust God.

This is a big deal because our trust in God is something that will impact every aspect of our lives.

Trusting God isn’t something that just happens. It isn’t something we get by having someone lay hands on us and pray for it to happen.

We learn to trust God as we walk through life and experience His faithfulness. And even then, we must be willing to submit to His will and obey Him in everything.

As we learn to obey Him, we will begin taking small steps of faith in obedience. And as we do this, we begin to see Him move on our behalf.

These small steps, and the evidence of Him moving in our lives, will lead us to trust Him more. This leads to us being willing to take bigger steps. And the snowball, so to speak, grows as it rolls further.

And before we know it, we can look back and see how God led us, and how we trusted Him to do so without even giving it any thought.

It soon becomes a way of life that we just walk in.

We will never be perfect in this. We will fail. We will never get it right 100% of the time.

But we learn, grow and keep being willing to learn more. And in this, we develop a trust in Him that we never thought was possible.

Go now. Do Good, dwell in the land, feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself in Him, commit your way to Him. Learn to trust in Him.

Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-4-24

John 10:14-15 (NKJV) 14 I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. 15 As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.

And I know My sheep.

That right there brings me so much comfort.

As we all know, at times we can be tested. Sometimes our thoughts and emotions will have us saying, “God, are you there?”.

We can surely know now that He would go the extra mile for us.

Why? Because He’s already done it.

David would often plead with Him, “do not hide from me oh, Lord. Come quickly and save me”.

Psalm 69:17 (NKJV) 17 And do not hide Your face from Your servant, For I am in trouble; Hear me speedily.

We aren’t the only ones who need God to act fast. David seemed to always be battling enemies.

Believe me when I tell you, God already knows. But, He still wants us to come to Him. He wants us to lean on Him; to run to Him and tell Him, like David, “I’m in deep trouble”.

Acknowledging the state we are in will cause us to get serious.

I don’t think David was playing games when He cried out. He knew where His help came from, and we need to know God is there.

His righteous right hand will hold us up.

Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV) 10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

He is known by His sheep.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-3-24

Philippians 4:19 (NKJV) 19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Have you ever noticed how we tend to look to man, or other natural sources as the one, or the thing, that supplies our needs?

Our employer. Our investments. Our clients. Our customers.

These are all sources of sustenance for most of us. We trade our time and efforts for money that they give us in exchange for the labors we render.

So, over time, we begin to look at them as the supplier of what we need. What we forget, though, is that it is the hand of God by which they do this.

It is easy for this to happen.

They are visible, tangible and present in our natural lives. We interact with them one on one most times. So, our minds tend to see them as the ones who supply our needs. It’s a natural tendency.

God is invisible. We can’t touch Him. We can’t see Him.

And if we aren’t taking the time to talk with Him and listen to Him (prayer), then we will live life not hearing Him.

So, our natural minds naturally tend to look beyond Him and forget that He is the One ordering our steps and setting everything in place so we can receive what we need from those people or entities whom we look to.

Let us not forget how important this is to understand.

He is our all in all. He is our source for everything that we need.

And in everything we do, let us remember that He will never forsake us.

Psalm 37:25 (NKJV) 25 I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-2-24

Matthew 16:24 (NKJV) 24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.

Denying ourselves the things we want is not easy for anyone. The flesh likes what it likes.

Our call to move from RI to NC was a denying and a following decision.

We left all we knew. All our favorite spots in our hometown. All that we were familiar and comfortable with.

Most of our family was there. All our friends were there. And here we are in a place of complete unfamiliarity; new ground, following His steps for us. Following Him and whatever He wants of us.

You just never know when God will say, “it’s time to make a move”.

Some of us don’t even like the thought of changing things up, never mind actually doing it!

I understand. I am that person too. I like the comfort of knowing where things are.

When I am used to something being somewhere, I like that. I like my doctors, my dentist, my favorite café and restaurants. I like the places I’m used to doing business at. It feels good!

It’s not that we can’t find them all over again in a new place. It’s just a type of security and great comfort to know they are there.

I can say now, after being in this new place for almost 2 years, I am finally finding my footing again.

I have been stretched in ways I didn’t know I could even stretch, but only God knew. I am thanking Him today, He has us.

I encourage you today if you are being prompted to make a move.

It doesn’t have to be the same move that we had to make. But any move in any area of your life where God is saying, “let go and follow Me”.

Be sure to not try and do it on our own. Ask God to go before you, and follow Him all the way through it.

You will have your moments, and you will mourn those things you no longer have.

Denying ourselves and following Him comes at a price!

Yes, I miss those people and places I left, but I am where I need to be. And I am truly at peace with that. I have learned that peace is better than comfort.

Being comforted or comfortable only lasts a short time, until the next uncomfortable thing shows up. But having peace will guide our hearts and minds, helping us get through anything we must withstand. I’ll take peace, thank you!

Philippians 4:7 (NKJV) 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-1-24

James 1:2-4 (NKJV) 2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

I’ve spent a fair amount of time lately pondering on the irony of trials.

They’re a funny thing, these unexpected events that happen to all of us, tossing our world into a tailspin.

They catch us by surprise and can sometimes hit us with life-changing effects. Sometimes they leave scars that take a lifetime to heal.

But here’s the thing that is so ironic about trials; as much as we despise them, they can teach us a lot if we allow them to.

Some of the most powerful lessons we learn are by way of the tough things that we go through.

We learn about ourselves. We learn new things that we never expected or wanted to learn. We learn about the faithfulness of God.

And in all those things, we learn lessons that we can use to teach and help others around us when they face similar situations and circumstances.

Not one of us welcomes trials with open arms. We despise them. We hope they don’t happen to us. And we may even try to run from them.

Jesus told us in John 16:33 that tribulations will come to each of us.

So, what will we do with them when they come?

That’s the key question we need to ask ourselves.

Will we run from them? Will we deny that they’re happening? Will we be miserable? Will we gather people around us to join us in our own pity party?

Or will we seek God and let Him show us how and what we can learn as we let Him walk us through them?

The way we embrace our trials will tell us a lot about our maturity as a believer and our faith in God, whom we proclaim to others that we trust.

When the rubber meets the road, do our actions prove that we trust Him? Or do they show us struggling with unbelief?

Don’t take that wrong. We all wrestle with unbelief at times. But hanging on to it and never letting God get us beyond it is another story.

So, let us ask ourselves today, will we let our trials dictate how we behave, or will we let God teach us valuable lessons as we walk through them, that we might use those lessons to help others, and to bring glory and honor to Him?
