Bible Verse of The Day – 5-3-17

Colossians 3:23 (NKJV) 23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men…

All of us, all around the world today, will get up and get ready to go to work. We will dress accordingly for our position. We will prepare ourselves for our job or school. For some it will mean that we will care for our home and our children.

Wherever we go or whatever we do, please let us be reminded of this verse. Let this verse speak to our heart, that we will do what we do with everything in us, that it will be pleasing to our Lord.

Forget about everything else regarding the work. For example, don’t focus on the money or the pay increase. Don’t think about whether we will have friends there, or what type of position it is.

Instead, let us put our focus on the fact that God is watching our heart and our performance.

Work hard, and with great purpose, and our reward will come.

2 Chronicles 15:7 (NKJV) 7 But you, be strong and do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded!”

God bless you.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-4-16

Colossians 3:23-24 (NKJV) 23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.

Have you ever felt like you work hard with no appreciation in return? Do you feel like you give it 100%, and yet you get nothing in return?

Many of us can testify to situations that we’re in, or have been in, where we feel mistreated or under-appreciated. Let’s be honest. Sometimes we just feel downright used and abused, don’t we?

Well, first off, let’s remember what the Word says above. We need to continue to do everything just as we were/are doing it for God Himself.

No, that doesn’t make being mistreated feel any better. But it will cause God to be glorified in everything we do. And in the end, that’s what is most important for all of us. So it’s important that we don’t get tired out and give up before we get our breakthrough.

Galatians 6:9 (NKJV) 9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

Some of us may have been in this kind of a situation for a very long time. We might even feel like it will never change. In fact, we may have given up on ever seeing it turn around.

But do you remember Joseph? He spent many years in prison and as a servant before God elevated him to be Potiphar’s top adviser and overseer of Egypt! If he had given up, his entire destiny could have been forever changed or even lost.

And even while he was in prison, Joseph excelled and had favor with the guards and the overseers there.

Why? Because he refused to sit around and feel bad about his situation, despite the fact that his own brothers had sold him into slavery due to their jealousy. And in the end, Joseph was exalted and made a leader that everyone looked up to.

So if you’re in a situation anything like this or you feel mistreated, don’t give up hope. Keep your eyes on God and trust Him to bring you through it with victory.

And in the meantime, keep doing all things as unto God.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-20-16

Colossians 3:23-24 (NKJV) 23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.

As followers of Christ, God expects us to do everything with excellence.

This doesn’t mean that we have to be perfect. It means that when we set about doing something, He wants us to do it to the very best of our ability, as though we were doing it for Him.

It can be easy to do something halfheartedly, especially if we’re doing it for someone else. Sometimes we get the attitude that “it’s good enough”. So we finish what we’re doing and then move on to something else.

But just being “good enough” isn’t what God asks of us. He wants us to do all things as if we we’re doing them for Him!

This applies to our jobs, our school work, our chores, the help that we offer to others, etc. We spend our days doing things. We work, we go to school and we help those around us who are in need.

So when we’re doing these things, we need to be diligent and mindful to give what we do 100% of our effort and attention. Not 90%. Not 75%. Not 50%. Not even 99%. We need to give it our all.

Yes, it requires more effort. And yes, it may require more time to do it right. But if God requires that we do it as unto Him, who are we to disagree?
