Galatians 5:16 (NKJV) 16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
Walking in the Spirit means taking what God says, such as, to be kind, be forgiving, be loving, be patient, etc., and put them into practice.
When a problem arises, or something doesn’t go just the way we thought it would, remember what God’s word teaches us to do, how to respond and what to say.
It’s not easy, we know. But when we let His Spirit teach us, we push down the ugly fleshly desires.
Walking in the Spirit takes practice, discipline and strength. Our Spirit man needs to be sharp and built up through the word of God, that we may be able to resist the wiles of the enemy.
Ephesians 6:11 (NKJV) 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
What is the whole armor of God? Truth, Righteousness, Peace, Salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, God’s word. As we move in these, no weapon formed against us shall prosper. God’s Spirit will be right there fighting for us.
Isaiah 54:17 (NKJV) 17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.
