Bible Verse of The Day – 3-22-17

Matthew 13:15 (NKJV) 15 For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.’

Healing comes when we allow God to open our eyes and ears to hear and see the truth. Is the truth always easy to swallow? No. Sometimes the truth can hurt when it goes down.

But once it’s in us and we let it work deep inside of us, it can bring wonderful changes if we take the steps we need to take.

What condition is our heart in today? Has it grown dull? Is it hard, cold, and angry? How about our ears? Can they still hear that still small voice of God? Or have things we’ve been through these past days, months, or years taken their toll on our walk with God?

How about our eyes? Have we stopped looking and seeking for God’s answers and completely given up all hope, maybe because we are just so tired of it all?

Let down that wall my friend, and let God open the eyes of our heart towards Him once again. He will bring true healing and understanding. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-2-15

John 8:32 (NKJV) 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

The truth can be a hard thing to swallow sometimes.

The truth can be hurtful. But the truth will also set us free, if we let it.

Many times we don’t like to hear the truth because it may convict us or require that we make some changes. And this can cause us some discomfort, there’s no doubt about it.

Sometimes the truth will show us who we really are. Other times the truth will show us who others really are.

Either way, the truth can be very eye-opening and very revealing. And when our eyes are opened to the truth, it can be pretty sobering.

But when we embrace the truth, instead of running from it, it will bring freedom to our lives in ways that we could never have imagined.

It might hurt for a while, but our hurt will heal, with God’s help and with time. And when we are healed, we will be free from the lies that we were deceived by for so long.

So embrace the truth today. Run to it. For only the truth can set us free.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-12-14

Matthew 16:16 (NKJV)16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

When Jesus asked the disciples who do you say that I am, Simon Peter spoke up and said, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. As Simon Peter answered Jesus, Jesus told him, on this rock I will build My church.

Matthew 16:18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.

On this rock. The rock was truth in what Peter spoke. Who is the truth? Jesus Christ,  He is our rock!

John 14:6 (NKJV) 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Are we sharing the truth with others? Or have we become distracted with music, drama, titles, money, etc?

Let us come back to the simplicity of the truth, Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God, the ROCK upon which the church is built. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-10-14

John 14:6 (NKJV) Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Jesus is life.

Over the centuries, many different variations of the truth have sprung up, each with their own little twist on “the real thing”.

Some of these twists added things to Jesus, while others took things away. Either way, they diluted the purity of who Jesus is.

Jesus is not a philosophy. He is not a garment that you try on for a while and then cast off when you get tired of it.

If you follow Christ you are not Christian, you are a Christian. I know that might not seem to make sense at first, or it might seem like a trite difference between the two statements, but let me explain.

Being Christian implies something that you are by default, having no choice in the matter, such as your race, your gender or your nationality. You can’t choose where you’re born, what color your skin is or what ethnicity you are.

Being a Christian is different. You are a follower of Christ by choice. You chose to follow Him. You chose to accept His offer of salvation and apply it to your life. You choose on a daily basis to live for Him.

See the difference?

So know in your heart that if you are a follower of Christ, you are a Christian. You are choosing to “wear” Christ daily, to clothe yourself with Him and His sacrifice and make Him your life.

He is not our way of life. He is not our theology. He is not our religion.

He is life!

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-2-13

(1 John 1:6 NKJV)  If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.

This scripture is very simple and to the point, isn’t it? But it makes a very strong point indeed!

If we want to know where we are at with Christ, or if we are even with Him, we just need to watch and listen to our actions throughout the day and we will know.

This verse tells it like it is, just very straight forward. It’s all in our walk, and how we move. We can tell if we are being deceived or not, by just paying attention to the details.

Let’s face it… no one wants to find out that they are walking out a lie. It takes courage to want to know the truth. It takes humility to really look and watch, knowing that there may possibly be a huge change they need to make.

Many years ago, I knew someone that was walking in a lie. It was very hard when the truth hit, for they thought they were doing everything right. Oh how painful it was to realize that all they were taught, all that they did, was not what they thought it was.

Thoughts of discouragement, disappointment, anger, and giving up all flooded their mind and heart when they found out the truth.

We are a funny people aren’t we? You’d think in finding the truth we would feel the opposite, but this is not always the case!!

They had to make a very big decision; would they pick themselves up and move forward? Or would they say “forget it, it’s too much and I don’t want to start over”?

I am happy to say today they chose the harder road, the road that followed the truth. They didn’t give up and they now live a life of Victory, walking in truth!

They made the right decision in spite of the work that would be involved in retraining and teaching and getting it right.

Today their fellowship is with HIM!! They walk in the Truth and it was all worth it!

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-28-13

John 8:32 (NKJV) And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

The truth can be a tough pill to swallow sometimes. It very rarely tastes good and it can sometimes be very painful.

Because of this, many people want to avoid the truth, whether it is about something in their own life, or in the life of someone else. So the truth gets replaced with something sweet in an effort to make it easier to swallow.

Sweet things might taste better, but the problem is that they will never fix a problem or bring healing where there is something broken, sick or injured.

Most times, what we need the most is for someone to sit us down, look us in the eye and give us the truth, even when it hurts to hear it. And we need to be mature enough to listen and receive it, even if we don’t like what’s being said.

As we grow and mature, we can (and should) learn to receive the truth, if someone is presenting it to us, and ask God what we can learn from it and how we can grow from knowing the truth.

And on the other side of the coin, we should never hesitate to share the truth with others, in a kind, loving way, when it needs to be spoken. It can be hard to say things to others sometimes, for fear of offending them, but if the words you speak are truth and they are presented properly, they can bring new freedom to the person you’re speaking to.

So don’t let the the half-truths of political correctness overshadow what you know is right and prevent you from speaking truth when truth needs to be spoken.

And never, ever push the truth aside when it is being spoken to you in an effort to show you where you might have gone wrong or you need to change.

And remember… words spoken in love are the key to making the truth work in your life and the lives of others.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-22-13

(Luke 5:4-6 NKJV)  When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” {5} But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” {6} And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking.

Whenever Jesus spoke, His words had truth in them. In fact, His words didn’t just contain truth. They were truth.

I get amused when I see someone who was with Jesus try to disagree with Him or something He had said. They never fared very well when they did this.

Jesus spoke and the world and everything in it had to listen. He was, after all, there when the worlds were formed, working with God the Father and the Holy Spirit, to create all that we see.

So many people are searching for truth…believers and unbelievers alike.

I want to tell you today that if you are a believer and follower of Jesus Christ, STOP looking for truth. You have already found Him!

He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. He is the only way to the Father. All things were made through Him.

So stop searching, lay yourself at His feet and rest, knowing that you need to look no further.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-6-12

(Mat 10:14 NKJV)  “And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet.

It’s hard for some people to receive the truth, but we as God’s chosen people must live it, breathe it and share it as the opportunity arises. We cannot pretend and sit back and act like we don’t know what is going on around us; we must speak the truth as needed.

Is it going to cause problems?  Maybe sometimes it will, but we can’t let that stop us. If we run into situations where people will not hear us or receive what we have shared, then as this verse says, shake it off and move on.

Some of us today need to say some things that will bring healing and freedom to some people’s lives and their situations, but we are struggling with fear; fear of an argument, fear of rejection, fear of intimidation, etc.

We must rebuke the fears today in Jesus’ name and say what God has given us to say. If it is God’s timing and He is prompting us, we don’t need to be afraid.

People may react the opposite of what we expect, but always obey God and He will lead us. The truth spoken in love is what people need to hear.

(John 8:32 NKJV)  “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-18-12

(John 8:32 NKJV)  “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

The truth can be a hard thing to swallow sometimes. It can cut us with its harsh realities.

But the truth can, in fact, set us free. It can set us free from ourselves. It can set us free from hurt inflicted by others. It can help us to see things they way they really are, instead of how we think they are.

Truth, when spoken, needs to be spoken with love, not with sarcasm or hurtful intentions. Jesus spoke truth very boldly, but He spoke it with love.

Sometimes when we hear the truth about ourselves or our situation, especially if it’s something we don’t agree with, we immediately reject it. We don’t take the time to consider it or pray about it. But we need to let God show us the truth and then let Him work it out in us.

I have never had a problem with speaking the truth to people when I needed to, but God has really been working with me to speak the truth with love, mercy, grace and compassion. This can make all the difference in the world as to how it’s received.

God has also been working on me when it comes to hearing the truth from others. He is teaching me to listen and consider what I hear, giving Him time to show me what’s what.

Consider truth. Let it work in you and bring you freedom that you might otherwise never have known.
