Bible Verse of The Day – 2-7-13

(2 Kings 6:17 NKJV)  And Elisha prayed, and said, “LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw…

There are times in life when we just don’t see things the way God would like us to see it.

The reason is that we are often too scared, negative, doubtful, emotional, or too caught up and busy to see it. But God wants to help us in this area!

Do you ever find yourself asking God over and over, “what is it?” So many times we are asking Him to show us what to do or how to handle things and we just can’t see it no matter how hard we try.

Well, He sure isn’t ignoring us. It’s just we are not seeing it. We’re not completely surrendering our plan and opening ourselves up to His plan.

We have to ask God to open up our eyes, just like Elisha did for his servant; and then, when He opens our eyes to see it, we don’t 1. try to do it ourselves and 2. run the other way because it looks too hard. But instead, we surrender to Him and say “Yes Lord”!

Let God open our eyes today.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-4-13

(Jeremiah 17:7 NKJV)  “Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, And whose hope is the LORD.

Let us take a look at our situation today and see who it is we put our trust in.

Are we trusting in our jobs? Our jobs can be here today and gone tomorrow. Are we trusting in our finances to bring us happiness and to take care of us? Do we trust in our friends and family more than we trust in God?

These are all great things to have… a wonderful family and good friends, a job that pays well! But, we do not put our trust in them. There is NO security in any of them.

The Lord is who we are safe with always. Put our trust in Him. Rely on Him. Call on Him, and give to Him of ourselves today.

The Lord is FAITHFUL!

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-26-13

(Acts 3:6-7 NKJV)  Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” {7} And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

We seem to have touched on the subject of tests and trials a lot this week and I’m sure it wasn’t by coincidence that this happened. There are definitely many in the body of Christ who need God’s miraculous hand on their lives. And we’re included in that with everyone else.

We have shared with everyone about our prayer requests and we have lifted you up before God in prayer also.

Now we want to take that next step. We could simply pray for you and then walk away and leave you to your own devices, hoping you see the hand of God move upon you.

But today, as Peter did with the lame man at the gate called Beautiful, we reach out to you in spirit and take hold of your hand, lifting you up to your feet, and we command you to rise up and walk, in the name of Jesus!!

Don’t sit and wait for God to pick you up. Receive His healing, His victory and His provision and get up and move! Walk, leap and dance, giving God the glory and praise!

We can sit and feel bad for ourselves, wondering what tomorrow will bring, or we can trust God for a breakthrough and heed His voice and take action when He says to.

Let God speak to you today. As we grab hold of your hand and lift you up, receive what He has for you, in the name of Jesus!

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-10-13

(Philippians 4:4 NKJV)  Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!

We have two words for everyone today. The first is “Rejoice”!

No matter what we are facing, we need to learn to rejoice. When you feel like the whole world is against you, Rejoice! Be thankful for your blessings… the little things. Don’t get caught up in the negative, but thanks God for the good things.

The Israelites spent 40 years making a 12-day journey. Why? Because they grumbled and complained, instead of rejoicing.

(Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV)  Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; {7} and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

And as you rejoice, “be anxious for nothing”. Bring your requests to God and be thankful! Make your requests known and then rest in Him, knowing that His peace can overcome any kind of turmoil that tries to overtake you.

God’s peace can’t be understood or comprehended by our minds. But it will carry us through the storms and bring us safely to the other side where we can celebrate our victory in Christ.

Rejoice and rest in Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-27-12

(Exodus 14:21 NKJV)  Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided.

God led the Israelites to the shore of the Red Sea. The Egyptians were in hot pursuit. There was nowhere to run or hide as they faced the sea.

God instructed Moses to stretch his hand out over the sea. So Moses did this and then God began to move.

Take notice that God caused the waters of the Red Sea to part, to divide, but it didn’t happen instantly. It took all night long!

The Israelites had to wait there on the shore of the sea all night, while God caused a strong east wind to blow and divide the waters.

What about us? Are any of us feeling like our backs are against the wall right now? Are we standing on the shore waiting for God to part the sea?

Take heart! Know that God will move on our behalf, but it almost never happens when we think it should!

We all need to trust in Him alone. We need to stop trying to make sense of every little thing that happens and stop trying to figure it all out! All of these things will cause us to question God and bring doubt and fear into our lives. Neither of these is from God, but from our enemy, the devil.

Let’s dig down deep and let God test our faith, and see what we’re really made of! It may not always be comfortable, but it is the best thing for us!

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-19-12

(1 Cor 13:12 NKJV)  For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.

We see in a mirror, dimly. We know in part.

There are a lot of things that we don’t know and don’t have answers to. There are so many questions that we’d like to ask God and have perfect answers for. There are many things that we may not understand.

But it’s OK if we don’t always have answers to all of our questions. There are some things that we may never understand. And there are other things that we just plain don’t need to know, even though we might think we deserve answers.

God is just. He is righteous, holy and true. He knows everything and He knows what we should know and what we shouldn’t know. He knows what is good for us, even when we think we know better.

Sometimes we run into situations and they just don’t seem to make sense to us. We don’t understand how something can be the way it is. But it’s alright if we don’t always understand. We’re not meant to have all the answers.

And anyone who always has an answer for every question that comes their way should not be trusted. It’s OK to tell someone “I don’t know”. It’s better to be honest and humble than to lie and be proud.

Being OK with not always having an answer is a good sign of our faith that God has it all under control. Because one day we will see Him face to face and all things will be known.

Until then we just need to trust Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-13-12

(Psalm 17:7 NKJV)  Show Your marvelous lovingkindness by Your right hand, O You who save those who trust in You From those who rise up against them.

Do you know that having to trust God for something isn’t a bad thing?

When we share with people about what we are trusting God for, we shouldn’t be sad or doom and gloom about it. We may think, “but I have been trusting God for a new home for some time now. I have been trusting God to save my sister, and my family members.”

Some of us may be trusting God for a new job or financial breakthrough. Maybe we are trusting God for a healing over ourselves or someone dear to us.

It’s a good thing that we are trusting God and not anyone or anything else. It is He that will bring us victory over our situation or our circumstances. If we are not trusting Him for something then something is wrong.

Trusting God for something should be exciting!! Waiting on Him to reveal His plan should cause us to rejoice even more, because we are not waiting on just anyone…we are waiting on the ONE! The Omnipotent, Jehovah, the Alpha & Omega, the Creator of this World! This is who we put our trust in.

Find something today to trust God for either for yourself or for someone else. Find a need and trust God to fulfill it. He will save us from those situations or problems trying to rise up against us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-1-12

(1 Peter 5:7 NKJV)  casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Casting all our care upon Him…what an awesome God to tell us to cast them all.

He doesn’t just want the huge cares, or the average ones, not even just the small ones. He wants us to cast them all, right down to the little bitty cares… the things we don’t think God cares to hear about. Those are the things He wants us to cast on Him, along with the others.

He wants all of our concerns, so we don’t have to worry. He wants to help us fix things so we don’t have to be burdened with them any longer.

I find it so exciting and humbling when God takes care of the simplest things for me. I guess because He is so magnificent, I expect Him to pay attention to the big things that I need, but for some reason I think that He doesn’t care about those little things.

But, He does… He really cares. He cares about all the things that concern us.

Why? Because He loves us and wants to help us through them. He wants us to rejoice with Him as He helps us get to the end of our problems.

Today, let’s do as He asks and cast all our cares. Trust that He will pick them up and work it out.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-16-12

(Psa 64:10 NKJV)  The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and trust in Him. And all the upright in heart shall glory.

Where does your happiness come from? Does it come from being able to go shopping? How about having food to eat? Does your happiness come from being married or being popular? How about from your job title or position? Does your happiness depend on whether or not your children are succeeding?

All of these things can be good and can bring us some happiness, gladness and joy. But we must always remember the One person that brings long lasting GLADNESS; Our LORD and Savior, Jesus Christ! This is where we will find true fulfillment… in Him and through Him.

Be Glad and put your trust in Him today! He is the supplier of all our needs! He will help you have food in your cupboards at all times! He will give you a good solid marriage! He will raise you and train you to be a leader! He will help guide your children into success!

We shall GLORY as we trust Him!!

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-15-12

(1 Thessalonians 5:16 NKJV)  Rejoice always…

Are you going through tough times right now? Are you fearful about the current state of the world? Do you wonder what tomorrow will bring?

What does God say we should do in the midst of all this? Rejoice always!

God wants us to rejoice in everything, both good times and tough times. In victory and in trials, He wants us to rejoice!

Further on, He says (1 Thessalonians 5:17-18 NKJV)  pray without ceasing, {18} in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

So we are to rejoice, pray and give thanks. This is so opposite what our flesh wants to do when we face struggles. In the natural, we want to cry, pout, ask God why this is happening to us and have a little pity party for ourselves.

But God wants us to press into Him and pull our strength from Him! He wants us to pick ourselves up and move forward, even when it feels like we can’t get up.

We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. (Philippians 4:13).

We have not been left alone or abandoned. We are not orphans. We have a heavenly Father who loves us and wants us to cross the finish line with victory.

Let’s learn how to rejoice, no matter what comes our way and watch how God works in our lives.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-27-12

(Gen 15:5-6 NKJV)  Then He brought him outside and said, “Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.” {6} And he believed in the LORD, and He accounted it to him for righteousness.

Believing is when everything within us says yes and amen to whatever it is that we need to believe in or believe for.

For instance, when God said to Abram, “so shall your descendants be”… at that very moment, everything in Abram believed what God said. At that very moment, if there was anything trying to bring doubt or confusion, etc., Abram had to shut it down and believe what God was saying to him, versus anything that might have tried to get him to think otherwise.

That is when it became belief! God knew that Abram believed with His whole being and at that moment the Word that was spoken to Abram became real and alive! The journey began. You see, God’s Word mixed with Belief makes it alive!

When Abram believed God, it says He accounted it to him for righteousness. Wow!! This is something we can shout about!

How many times does God give us a Word and a part of us says yes and the other part says HOW? Well, don’t try to figure out the how, it will destroy the belief. Just let the part of you that says YES and Amen rule and reign over the part that says how.

God is looking for a people that will stop trying to figure Him out and just say YES with everything in us!!
