Bible Verse of The Day – 1-20-14

(Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV)  Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; {7} and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Being anxious for nothing means to not try to make something happen before it’s time. But to wait for God, His knowhow, His timing and His release. This has got to be one of the hardest things for me at times.

I am a person that when I know something needs to be done, I just want to get it over with; I want to do it and put it behind me. You can imagine my fight and struggle at times with this verse. I have to remain obedient and surrender my ideas, my timing and knowhow to God.

How many times a day do I have to remind myself of this verse? It depends on the season that I’m in. There are days when this verse stretches me in areas that hurt because of my personality of wanting things done NOW! It causes me to humble myself and let God work things out, trusting Him and knowing that His plan is better than MINE!!

The important thing is to follow the rest of this verse, after we get past the being anxious part. It says to pray and be thankful!!

Don’t forget these very important steps because this is why He tells us to be anxious for “nothing”.

Do not be so focused on the one situation going on in our lives that is causing problems, that we forget or lose site of everything else that is going on.

Be prayerful and  thankful for everything that is happening in our lives.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-4-14

Joshua 1:9 (NKJV) Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Be strong and of good courage!

The challenges that you’re facing right now will not be your demise. They will not bring you down and they will not defeat you!

Do not be afraid. God is by your side and on your side.

When you begin to have doubts, know this:

Romans 8:31 (NKJV) What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Stand strong in His might, not on your own strength. It is God that brings victory and it usually comes in ways and at times that we would never have expected it to happen.

So be strong and courageous.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-2-14

(Psalm 47:1-2 NKJV)  Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to God with the voice of triumph! {2} For the LORD Most High is awesome; He is a great King over all the earth.

Have we ever felt like running and hiding when things are getting out of hand? How about not wanting to get out of bed? Sometimes we don’t even want to see anyone or speak to anyone because of our situation; we can’t find the strength to face another day or person.

We have to remember when we feel this way that no matter what we think about our situation, whether or not we can get out of it by our own knowledge, it’s not over.

We will face it, with or without God. Choose to face it with Him!

He is an awesome King, Jehovah God; He has a plan that will blow our minds.

Praise Him, knowing that He has our back. He will go to battle for us as we put our trust in Him.

Shout to God with the voice of Triumph!! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-31-13

(1 Chronicles 16:11 NKJV)  Seek the LORD and His strength; Seek His face evermore!

Are we needing an answer to our problems today? Are we needing someone to comfort us? Are we feeling alone and need a good friend, someone we can talk to and share everything with? Do we need someone we can trust?

Seek the Lord today and He will be there. He will have an answer for us. His arms are always wide open, He will hold us tight and comfort us!

(Psalm 46:1 NKJV)  God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-26-13

2 Thessalonians 3:1-2 (NKJV) Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you, 2 and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have faith.

This is our prayer; that the word of the Lord will run swiftly and be glorified across the whole earth!

As we approach the new year, please be in agreement with us, that God’s word will continue to go forth in power and reach those who need to hear it, in His timing and by His spirit.

During this past year we have been under attack on a personal level as well as on the ministry level, from many different angles.

We refuse to back down. We recognize it for what it really is and we are pushing back, persistent in the calling that God has placed on us to bring His word to the nations through the means that He has enabled us to move in.

So please continue to stand with us and share the words that we send out each day, passing them along to friends, family and anyone you know who might enjoy them or need to hear them.

2014 is a year of promise… God’s promise to each and every one of us for continued new life in Him, as we press into Him and follow His leading by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Rest in his love and his mercy and trust Him for everything you need.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-6-13

Matthew 6:27 (NKJV) Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

It’s no secret. Just about every person reading this is going through some kind of trial or struggle.

It may be a financial trial, a relationship trial, a struggle with some kind of addiction or any number of other kinds of struggles and trials. It happens to every single one of us.

When these kinds of things happen in our lives, it can turn our world upside down. It can cause us to have to make decisions and choices that we never thought we would even have to consider in the past.

So when this happens, what do we do? Do we stress and spend every waking minute worrying about the “what ifs”?

We can do that. It’s pretty easy to fall into. But it doesn’t do us a single bit of good.

Jesus taught that nobody can change anything by worrying. In fact, people who spend a lot of time worrying end up with various health problems from the stress that they carry, including high blood pressure, stress headaches, ulcers, weight gain and much more.

So what should we do?

1 Peter 5:6-7 (NKJV) 6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

We need to humble ourselves and admit that there are some things that we just can’t change, and then we need to hand them over to God, trusting that He will bring the help that we need.

It’s not always easy, but the more we do this, the easier it becomes.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-2-13

Romans 8:38-39 (NKJV) 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Times are tough everywhere. No matter what part of the world you live in, things are like they have never been before. The things that God’s word has been prophesying for centuries are coming to pass right before our eyes!

But no matter what comes our way, whether economic trials, spiritual battles, social problems or anything else that gets thrown at us, there is one thing we can be sure of. And that is this; nothing can separate us from the love of God. Nothing!

His word tells us that if we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us.

James 4:8 (NKJV) Draw near to God and He will draw near to you…

So, you see, the only thing that can pull us away from Him is ourselves. There is no outside force that can tear us away from Him unless we allow it to happen.

So resist the devil and he will flee from you. Press into God and He will wrap you in His arms.

And never, ever give up hope or lose faith in God.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-25-13

(Psalm 37:3-4 NKJV)  Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.

Are we putting our trust in the LORD today? Are we waiting on Him or are we jumping ship?

Maybe we’re waiting on an answer from Him and it isn’t coming quick enough? Are we afraid this ship is going to sink if something doesn’t happen quickly?

He will not let our ship sink! One of our dear friends once told us, “the Captain is on the bridge!” So we need to give Him a chance to come through for us.

If we jump ship every time we get scared, we will never get to experience that.

We need to let Him do what He has to do; some things take a little time.  We need to hold out, dwell in the land and FEED on His faithfulness.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-19-13

1 Kings 19:1-4 (NKJV) 1 And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, also how he had executed all the prophets with the sword. 2 Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, “So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time.” 3 And when he saw that, he arose and ran for his life, and went to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there. 4 But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a broom tree. And he prayed that he might die, and said, “It is enough! Now, Lord, take my life, for I am no better than my fathers!”

Elijah had just been part of a massive victory over the false prophets of Baal. He had defeated them and then slain over 400 of them. He had seen God move in a completely mighty way as he had called down fire from heaven. God had proven to him that there was nothing for him to fear.

But when Jezebel promised to kill Elijah, he quickly forgot about God’s might and how God had answered his call for fire from heaven. And he ran and hid, fearful for his life!

Elijah was undoubtedly one of the most powerful prophets of God in the entire Bible. Very few others had anywhere near his level of faith. Nor did they do such powerful feats by God’s spirit.

But when Elijah was faced with fear, he ran like a scared child and he hid.

So let me ask you today; have we ever run and hid when we were fearful? Have we ever forgotten about the might and the faithfulness of God and just run away? Every single one of us can probably shout a resounding “yes“!

So now let me share something with you. During those times when our faith might have wavered and we hid ourselves, God never left us. He wasn’t surprised and He wasn’t ashamed of us.

So if you have ever hidden because of fear or a lack of faith, don’t beat yourself up over it.

After Elijah hid, God went to him and spoke to him. God set him straight and set his feet on the right path again, and Elijah went on to do other powerful feats by God’s spirit.

So if a mighty man of God hides and God isn’t ashamed of him, how much less should we be ashamed of our times of weakness?

Be still, and know that He is God, and rest in His hands. You are safe there.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-14-13

1 Corinthians 2:9 (NKJV) But as it is written:”eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

There are times when I get so frustrated with the things of this world.

Whether it’s corrupt government, ridiculous taxes, human ignorance, human wickedness, corruption and idolatry in the church or anything else that we could all think of. Some days just seem like the bad outweighs the good by such a huge margin. It makes it truly hard to keep our attitude right and keep our eyes on the good things.

But I always have a knowing deep down inside that none of what we do for God while we’re on this earth is in vain. And this is one of those verses that just drives that point home.

No matter what we have to battle here and no matter how hard it can sometimes seem or how frustrating it can get dealing with human bureaucracy, know-it-all spirits or outright miserable people, nobody can ever take away the promises of God.

And he has promised us that no eye has seen and no ear has heard, and no human mind has ever even imagined the things that God has prepared for those who love Him.

And for me, that’s enough.

Press into Him, people of God. And never stop looking upward or moving forward in His name.

Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-9-13

1 Corinthians 2:14 (NKJV) But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

The human mind is incredibly created and intricately formed by God. It has unbelievable power and potential to think and reason.

But it can never fully comprehend the things of God. It just can’t, no matter how intelligent a person is.

The ways of the Spirit of God are so far beyond what the human mind can comprehend, it baffles us. We try hard to get a grasp of what God does and how He does it, but intellect and spirit just don’t mix.

This is the reason that so many people can’t find it in themselves to have faith in a God that they can’t see, simply because they can’t understand Him.

And so it is, that God has caused us to have to have faith in order to believe that He even exists.

It is only by God’s Spirit that we can find Him. It is only His spirit that can break down the barriers of human intellect and draw us to Himself.

This doesn’t mean that we have to be ignorant or uneducated in order to believe God or follow Him. It just means that we need to recognize the drawing of His spirit when He tugs on our heart.

Then and only then can we bow before Him in reverence and follow Him in true faith.
