Bible Verse of The Day – 8-10-18

James 5:16 (NKJV) 16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Taking time out to pray for each other is a must. To pray for family, friends, work, relationships and other things that arise throughout our day needs to be a priority.

Prayer helps many people; people that have no hope, no trust, no knowledge at times.

Prayer helps usher in healing for sick people. Prayer helps bring direction and protection in many situations. Prayer stops spiritual battles and so much more.

Through the name of Jesus, we have been given authority and we can lift up any given situation to Abba Father and He will hear our prayer, our need or someone else’s need.

Don’t stop praying. Fit it in daily and go with it. Lift up our cares and concerns and entrust them into the hands of our Daddy, through the name of Jesus Christ.

Things turn around through time spent in prayer. Families and marriages are restored through prayer. Healings take place through prayer. Children are changed through prayer. Financial breakthrough comes through time spent in prayer.

Pray, pray and pray some more.

Rejoice today in knowing that when we pray we are heard. And answers come! Amen.

Psalm 34:17 (NKJV) 17 The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-22-18

Psalm 55:17 (NKJV) 17 Evening and morning and at noon I will pray, and cry aloud, And He shall hear my voice.

Morning time with God is a great way to start the day. But if mornings don’t work for us, for whatever reasons, there are other times. He doesn’t go away or get mad at us just because it doesn’t happen first thing in the morning.

Being determined that we are going to spend time with Him at some point throughout the day is what’s important.

Some of us may have a very busy schedule at times, and we don’t always get to do what we want, when we want.

But if we are determined that we will not let the day go by without spending time in prayer, we will make the time and we will be glad we did!

The key is to tell ourselves, set it in motion and be determined to follow through. We have to make it a priority, or the time will get used up doing other things.

It’s not going to always be the same time, and some days we may have a smaller amount of time in prayer. But, it’s not about the amount of time. It is about making the time. Every little bit HELPS.

God is willing to be there at our convenience and hear our voice, so let’s be willing and determined to meet Him there. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-2-17

Psalm 24:10 (NKJV) 10 Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory.

I am reminded today of my King of glory. My heart is full with thankfulness and I am overwhelmed with all that He has done throughout this year.

Prayer is a powerful tool that our King has granted to us. If we knew how much prayer does, we would spend more time doing it. We would be less aggravated, frustrated and doubtful.

We would be trying to make more time to sit with Him and lay everything before Him, rather than spending more and more time trying to fix things that we have no control over.

Oh, the things that get accomplished through prayer.

Our King of glory, Our Lord of hosts, is there. He is listening for our voice. He is waiting on us to come to Him and spill it out. He has already seen, evaluated and figured out the plan. He has the answers for us. We just have to go and talk to Him, get the answer and move forward.

Make the time to spend with Him. Some of us need to take a vacation and get away. A retreat where it is just us and God.

Some of us just need to get in a quiet spot, shut off the phone, laptop, TV, music and just stay quiet for a bit.

And some of us just need to start taking a step. We have the answer we were seeking. Now we just need to do it.

Wherever we are at in our walk, the King of glory is with us. Praise be to Him!

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-2-17

1 Timothy 2:1-2 (NKJV) 2 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.

We can assist God when we pray with His guidance and leading. With a sincere heart, we can come to Him and lift up the needs of others, as well as praying for our own situation.

How do we know what God wants us to pray for? We let His Spirit, the Holy Spirit, guide us. He knows everything. We wait on Him and follow His leading. He will give us the compassion, wisdom, discernment and love that we need to pray and get the answers that are crucial to help in any situation.

We shouldn’t just pray what we think we need to pray. Seek God as to what and how to pray. When we come into agreement with what God wants for our lives, or even for others, there is unity and forward movement.

Prayer is powerful! Make sure that we spend time with God in prayer each day. This will keep us in tune and up to date with what is going on around us and in our own situation.

Learn to love prayer time! Get excited about it. Be that one who stands in the gap. Be that one to intercede and line up with what God wants done here on earth. God answers prayer. Amen.

John 14:14 (NKJV) 14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-30-17

Philippians 4:6 (NKJV) 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

Prayer is something very unique. God doesn’t have a mold that our prayers have to fit into. We can communicate with Him in our own personal way, which makes it very powerful and personal for each of us.

Some people think prayer involves asking God for something over and over again until we get it. Here’s what the Word says about this:

James 5:16 (NKJV) 16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Many people misinterpret “fervent” as meaning repetitive. But fervent actually means passionate or very intense. It has nothing to do with repetition.

In the following verse, Jesus mentions repetitive prayers:

Matthew 6:7 (NLT) 7 “When you pray, don’t babble on and on as the Gentiles do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again.

Jesus Himself said this. But to be clear, He wasn’t necessarily telling us to never pray about something more than once. He was letting us know that repetition for the sake of repetition isn’t necessary or effective when it comes to answered prayers.

Philippians 4:6, referenced at the beginning of this message, tells us that we are to make our requests known in prayer and supplication, thanking God for the answers.

Supplication refers to being humble, not demanding or bossy with our requests. Yes, we can approach the throne boldly to make our requests known. But that doesn’t give us the right to make demands in arrogant or self-centered ways.

And, lastly, here’s what James says:.

James 5:15 (NKJV) 15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

So our prayers should be spoken with faith, trusting God to answer them.

And we need to understand that prayer isn’t just talking to God so He will change His mind or move in a specific direction for us. It’s about moving things in the spirit world.

Because of the authority we have in the name of Jesus, we need to also be rebuking evil spirits, commanding them to leave in certain situations, as well as binding the enemy and loosing the things of God, such as healing, a sound mind, deliverance, etc.

Matthew 16:19 (NKJV) 19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

These things all work together in our prayer life to bring about God’s will and purpose here on earth.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-24-17

Matthew 6:13 (NKJV) 13 And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

As Jesus wrapped up this last part of His discourse on how to pray, He hit on the delicate, yet very relevant subject of temptation and evil. And then He finished by giving God glory and honor. Let’s take a look.

God, I know you are not the tempter. I know that all good things come from you, and you alone.

Give me the strength to turn and walk away from temptation when it tries to entice me. Open my eyes so that I might see temptation for what it is; a snare waiting to capture me and hurt or kill me.

And deliver me, Father, from the enemy of my soul, the evil one who wishes to destroy me and separate me from you forever with sin and darkness. Help me to withstand his schemes and have victory over them.

For your kingdom is above all kingdoms. And you rule and reign over everything, seen and unseen. All power and glory belong to you forever and ever. Amen!

So, there you have it. The model for prayer, set forth by Jesus Himself!

We hope you have enjoyed this short series and that it has helped shed some light on some things that maybe you didn’t previously know, or maybe get you to think about some things you had never really thought about before.

Now, go and pray in power!

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-23-17

Matthew 6:12 (NKJV) 12 And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.

Forgiveness is a big deal, both being directed to us, and being given by us. And, once again, Jesus peeled away all the mystery about forgiveness and laid it bare, in His usual simplicity. Let’s take a look.

Father, forgive me for what I have done. Forgive me for things I have said against others. Forgive me for things that I have done against you and against those around me.

There is so much I need to be forgiven for, but I understand that forgiveness for my sins and trespasses is dependent upon me forgiving those who have done wrong to me. So help me to forgive others, as you forgive.

I know that I sometimes struggle in this area, so help me and give me strength to make it right. Thank you Father.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-22-17

Matthew 6:11 (NKJV) 11 Give us this day our daily bread.

This single verse is a huge part of our walk with God and will show us where we stand when it comes to trusting Him. Really trusting Him!

Notice that Jesus spoke only about today. Not tomorrow. Not next week or next month! So here it is, broken down. Notice how much our trust is tested in this one very short verse.

Father, give us what we need for today. Supply our needs. You know what they are. You know them all.

Provide for our bodily needs in the food we eat. Give us sustenance.

We’re not concerned with or worried about tomorrow. We are looking only at today. Nothing more and nothing less.

And we know that today is all You want us to be concerned with, because we trust that You have tomorrow in Your hands. And You have told us not to worry about tomorrow.

So we thank You for supplying our needs and taking care of us. You are everything we need!

Tune in again tomorrow for the next segment…

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-21-17

Matthew 6:10 (NKJV) 10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.

As we continue to take a look at this lesson Jesus taught, let’s break this down and see what He was really telling us to do and say.

Father, let your kingdom come to the earth.

Let us pray and bring your presence to earth by our words and our actions. Let us be beacons of light in this dark world. Teach us to love those around us like only you can love.

There is so much hurt and pain and you are the great physician Who can heal each and every one of the hurting hearts.

So we ask and declare today, Lord, that whatever we loose and whatever we bind in heaven be done also here on earth.

To be continued…

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-20-17

Matthew 6:9 (NKJV) 9 In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.

As Jesus began this discourse, he taught us how to pray.

His goal was not to teach us what to pray. His goal was not to teach us to recite this word for word. And His goal was not to give us a recitation that would act as the go-to verses that we would learn to repeat each day when we wish to talk or communicate with our Father.

Jesus gave us a model that we are to use, teaching us all of the various aspects of addressing our Father in heaven.

So let’s take a look at this particular piece of the model and see what Jesus was saying.

God in heaven. Abba, Father, our mighty Creator and Giver of life, You are holy.

God, you are above everything we see, everything that you created. You are pure and holy. You are everything I need in life. You are my source and my inspiration. I long to worship you and lift you high for the world to see.

Your name is above all names! Your name is powerful and limitless. And I bow before you, surrendering to you with all that I am.

We hope this helps bring understanding and a new perspective to what we commonly call “The Lord’s Prayer”.

More to come…

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-10-16

Matthew 7:9 (NKJV) 9 Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?

How many of us have asked God for something at some point in our lives? Everyone has. Right?

But how many of us were disappointed when we got something other than what we asked for? If we’re honest, most of us will admit to being disappointed.

But here’s the thing. If we ask for something that God knows won’t be good for us, would He be a good father if He just went ahead and gave it to us anyway?

You see, sometimes when we ask, God does answer with something different than what we asked for because He doesn’t want us to get hurt.

If our own child asked us for something that we knew would harm them, would we just give it to them for the sake of making them happy? We’d better not!

If we ask for bread, and we’re hoping for rye bread, God just might give us pumpernickel bread because He knows there’s something about rye bread that will harm us.

So if we’re praying and we get something less than or different than what we prayed for, we need to thank Him for it! And we need to be grateful that He takes our well-being into consideration.
