Bible Verse of The Day – 12-5-15

1 Corinthians 14:33 (NKJV) 33 For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.

Where God is, there will also be peace.

This is something that we need to remember when making choices and decisions in our lives. Sometimes the choices we have to make can be tough. Really tough.

And during those times of decision making, we can get pretty stressed out and confused if we’re trying to make them apart from God, or without listening for His voice.

Over the years, we’ve learned (sometimes the hard way) that if we have peace about a decision, then we are moving in the direction God wants us to move in, even if it might not always make sense to our minds.

But, if we think we are doing the right thing, and yet we have no peace, or it feels chaotic, then we are probably moving in the wrong direction, even if it makes sense to our minds.

One thing to keep in mind is that if we are doing something that’s totally new to us, and we’re unfamiliar with it, we might feel a bit uneasy simply because it’s not something we’re used to doing. That’s perfectly normal.

Being uneasy or a bit apprehensive is different than feeling confused or chaotic. Because even if we’re doing something new and unfamiliar, we can still have God’s peace about it.

So remember; the enemy is the author of confusion. But God is the author of peace!

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-3-15

Matthew 11:29 (NKJV) 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Jesus was meek, gentle and humble.

And yet He was powerful in everything He said and did.

Why? Because He acted by the Holy Spirit, not by His emotions. Everything He did was purposeful and with meaning.

Yet, even with the power that He exhibited, He didn’t cause stress for those who listened to and understood His words.

For those who chose to embrace Jesus and put their faith in Him, there was peace in their souls. They found rest, no matter what was happening around them.

Today, over 2,000 years later, Jesus offers us that same peace and rest.

If our faith and trust is in Him, it doesn’t matter what’s happening in our lives, or in the world around us. There can be chaos all around, but our spirits can have peace. We just need to train our minds to be still when they want to explode.

Psalm 46:10 (NKJV) 10 Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!

No, this isn’t always easy to understand. But as we learn of Him and begin to understand Him better, peace and rest will become the norm in our lives. And emotional chaos will become a thing of the past.

Take His yoke upon you and learn of Him. And your life will never be the same 🙂

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-17-15

Romans 5:1-4 (NKJV) 5 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope.

We have peace with God through Jesus Christ.

Our faith in Christ gives us some pretty special privileges. Through our faith in Him, we can have peace in every situation. We can rest, knowing that we are God’s child, and no matter what comes our way, we can trust God and hold to Him for security.

Having peace in times of trials and tribulations isn’t always easy, but as we draw closer to God and build our relationship with Him, we understand Him better. And that understanding helps us to see things in a different light, and from a different point of view.

There may be times when we feel like peace just can’t be found. We may wrestle with some of the things that come our way. But, ultimately, if we trust God with it, He will bring us through it with victory.

He may define that victory or bring it about differently than we might think, but as we learn to trust Him, we will see that His way is always better than our ways.

So press in to Him today. Lean on Him and draw your strength from Him. He will never let us down.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-14-13

Proverbs 16:7 (NKJV) When a man’s ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.

There are many things that we can use to judge our walk with God. Some of them may be more difficult to discern than others.

But there is one thing for sure. If we are in constant turmoil with everyone around us, we might need to check our walk with our Father and see where we’re going wrong.

Jesus is the Prince of Peace, so if we’re following Him and His ways, peace should be a big part of our lives.

Does peace reign in your life?

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-12-13

Matthew 11:28 (NKJV) – Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Each of us can relate to this verse. Every single one of us has been through a battle recently, and may even still be in the midst of a battle… and we’re tired.

Jesus offers us a rest that nothing here on earth can match. Not the spa, not a vacation and not a good night’s sleep. These things are all nice, but they can’t give us the rest that Jesus offers us.

So if you’re tired and weary today, give it to Jesus. Surrender your life and your cares to Him and get the kind of rest that nothing in this world can offer you.

You might think that it’s not easy to do this, and you’re right. It’s not always easy. But it’s imperative that we do it if we want to move beyond our problems and have victory in our battles.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-22-12

(Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV)  Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; {7} and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

God’s peace can never be explained away. It’s something that can’t be understood by the human mind.

Having the peace of God doesn’t come naturally. As human beings, we always like to know everything… to have it all figured out. Moving with God will sometimes (many times) mean that we don’t know what tomorrow will bring.

This tends to mess with our heads and cause us to question God if we look at things through human eyes.

But once we begin to get God’s heart and start to see things through His eyes, everything starts to look a whole lot different. As we begin to trust Him more, we also have more peace.

This is the peace that passes understanding. This is the peace that we can have when it seems like the world is crashing down around us. And this is the peace we can have when everyone is looking at us and wondering how we can be so calm when everything looks like it’s falling apart.

Know God. Know His Peace.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-12-12

(Colossians 3:15 NKJV)  And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.

As we enter into a new week let us let peace rule in our hearts.

Know that stress, chaos, confusion, irritations, and frustrations will always be present. But we don’t have to fall into their trap and let them have a place in our hearts.

God’s Word says to let PEACE rule. Anything that rules means it exhorts control, it exercises authority or power over, and it dominates. We may have to fight to keep the peace of God ruling in our heart, but it will be well worth it.

Walk in peace this week, and be thankful, for we serve an AWESOME Father who cares deeply about us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-26-12

(Mat 11:28 NKJV)  “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

As a follow-up to yesterday’s verse, we want to reassure everyone that God is in control.

Jesus told us to come to Him so He can give us rest! This adds to His words that we shared about worrying. He wants us to rest in Him!

This doesn’t mean that when something comes along that requires work on our part that we just ignore it and wait for God to clean up the mess for us. But it does mean that as we are obedient to Him and we do what He requires of us, we don’t need to “sweat the small stuff”.

God’s rest is different than what man thinks of when it comes to rest. God’s rest gives us peace, comfort and joy. God’s rest takes away our worries and replaces them with security in His word and His promises.

So take God’s promises and the words of Jesus and implement them in your life, trusting Him. Put them into practice and learn how to live in His peace. It takes some effort on our part initially, but the effort is more than worth it when we finally understand this truth and begin to walk it out.

We pray God’s peace over each and every one of you today, in the name of Jesus.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-9-12

(Mat 18:21-22 NKJV) Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” {22} Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.

Jesus surely makes it clear to us that we are to forgive, no matter how many times we’re required to do so.

It is in the forgiveness that we offer to others that we are, in turn, forgiven and freed from bondage. Many types of bondage, like sickness, disease and torment can stem from us withholding forgiveness from others.

A lack of forgiveness on our part can cause us to be bitter & mean, and simply not have God’s peace within ourselves.

When someone does something terrible to us, forgiving them doesn’t mean we have to go and be their best friend after we forgive them. We don’t necessarily even need to be around them. We just need to forgive them and move on.

When Jesus asks us to forgive someone for something that they have done deliberately to us, it is for our own good. It is something we need to come to within ourselves. Forgiveness brings freedom, peace and victory in our lives!

If you are carrying unforgiveness in your heart today, this is the day you need to ask God to help you get rid of it. There is FREEDOM waiting for you.

Let it go today and live in PEACE!
