Bible Verse of The Day – 7-1-21

1 Corinthians 13:4 (NKJV) 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

One thing I have learned is this; love is patient.

It takes time for change to happen in a person’s life.

Whether it’s change in ourselves or change with others, it takes time. And we need to be willing to love in such a way that we can wait it out.

One of the greatest things we can do for each other is love someone to the point where we give ourselves or others the time needed for God to help turn it around.

Anything that God has put in front of me has taken time. Period.

Nothing has happened overnight.

In my high school year book, under my graduation picture, I had this saying; “time is of the essence”.

It means that, over time, things will play out.

I was young, and at that time I just thought it sounded wise.

Little did I know that I would have to walk it out myself if I wanted to love like God has called us to. I would have to be very patient at times. Ugh.

Of course, love will really work that patience muscle. It is hard, but it will cause that muscle to grow in us.

Our flesh will despise it. But God’s Spirit that dwells in us all will help us to LOVE and do even more!

We must embrace Him if we want to walk in such love.

Don’t let what we want to see happen right away rule over us and cause us to miss out on the things God wants to show us.

Wait on Him and His guidance. Be strong.

His love will bring the patience we need to have in any given situation.

Psalm 27:14 (NKJV) 14 Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-15-18

Mark 9:23 (NKJV) 23 Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

Believing in what God tells us is the first step toward receiving. But there is more to it than just believing. We must not stop there.

Sometimes God will give what we need in steps. He may do His step first, then He may show us a step to take. Some things come in lots of steps. So, don’t lose hope. But be patient.

Patience is a big part of receiving God’s answers or plans for our situation. If we try to force something to happen, it will not turn out the same or be complete, the way it would be if we let God move on our behalf.

James 1:4 (NKJV) 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

So many times, God will show us what He would like to do in our situation. And if we are not careful, our first reaction will ruin God’s plan quickly. Why? Because we step out on our own and we try to do it all in the natural.

But there are things in the spiritual realm that need to be tended to first and foremost, and only God can show us what that is and how to do it.

We have to remember that there is an enemy, a devil, that roams around and wants to take us out. He wants to kill and destroy anything that’s good.

Just as King Herod was after the baby Jesus, he had all the babies killed. Why? Because something great and something GOOD was coming!!

The devil doesn’t like good. He moved through the heart of Herod and brought destruction to all those little babies. His goal was to kill Jesus, which would kill God’s plan.

Matthew 2:16 (NKJV) 16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was deceived by the wise men, was exceedingly angry; and he sent forth and put to death all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all its districts, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had determined from the wise men.

He will try and take out anything that is going to be good for us too. He is the enemy that we battle against!

We need the Holy Spirit to help us receive the things that God has spoken to us. He will help us to hold onto our faith. He will help us know the direction we need to go. And He will help us to keep our mind sound and focused.

There are a lot of people in the middle of a battle right now, tired and having no idea what step to take next. It’s not over for you. God is saying, “you will win if you surrender it to Me and listen. I will take you all the way.”

If this is you today, we want you to write or call us, and we will pray with you and stand in agreement for God to take you “the rest of the way through”. As you surrender it completely to Him, and follow His direction, you will come out on the other side of this war. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-16-16

James 1:3 (NKJV) 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.

Patience comes by first praying, asking, having faith and learning to wait; Having faith that the answer will come when and how God wants it to.

Waiting isn’t a bad thing. It’s not terrible. It is actually good for us! Waiting teaches us patience. It builds that muscle nice and strong.

You know how it feels when you build a muscle that hasn’t been worked in a while? Oh, it can hurt sometimes!

Well, waiting can feel the same way. However, just as that muscle hurts at first, it does start to feel better after time goes by and it gets stronger.

The same goes for waiting. It will get better and a little easier as time goes by and we learn to accept that it’s good for us, and we embrace it.

If we can’t wait for some things, how will we ever receive what God has for us? Or have we made up our minds that if it doesn’t come quickly enough, or in the time frame that we give it, we simply give up and move on to something else? Or do we just step in and take care of it ourselves?

Waiting teaches us patience, and how we wait is important as well.

Do we grumble and complain while waiting? We shouldn’t, even though it may feel good at times.

Are we sad and depressed, hanging our heads feeling sorry for ourselves? That’s not going to help or get God to move any quicker. Do we feel like nothing is going to make us happy until we get what we want, so others around us have to deal with our misery and bad attitude? It won’t work! If anything, it will prolong the wait.

While waiting, we should continue to do what we know to do. Not just in a ho hum way, simply going through the motions, but in a way that we are expecting and knowing that God is moving! We put everything into what we know to keep doing while we wait for God’s answer to come to pass.

We move with enthusiasm and excitement! We do it to the best of our ability, knowing that God is faithful no matter how long it takes.

This is called persevering; Pushing through and reaching that place where we will see His hand move on our behalf. Amen.

Romans 8:25 (NKJV) 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-19-16

Psalm 27:14 (NKJV) 14 Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!

I was looking out my window this morning. I looked past the bare, naked trees, only to feast my eyes on the beautiful blue sky.  My heart was thankful for the pretty, sunny day we were having.

As I looked down again, and saw the nakedness of the trees, it almost changed my mood, causing me to think negatively.

But God showed me at that moment, that even though the trees look dead on the outside, what is really going on inside. They are fully alive, they are living and growing. They are being prepared to produce! They will soon be putting forth blossoms and beautiful leaves, making an even prettier picture.

You see, we sometimes forget that there is preparation time for a lot of things, before we get to see the actual beauty of it. Just because things may not look beautiful on the outside, it doesn’t mean that in their season or time they will not produce much beauty.

Be patient and wait. Don’t let the outward appearance of a situation cause us to start feeling negative and overlooking all the good that is taking place.

Be blessed. We love you all and our prayers are with you today!

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-10-15

Ecclesiastes 7:8 (NKJV) 8 The end of a thing is better than its beginning; The patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.

Sometimes we can make a mess of things.

We make poor choices and get ourselves into trouble. And so many times, the problems that we create can have long-lasting implications. They don’t go away instantly, just because we want them to.

As we lean on God and look to Him for answers, we need to be patient and wait on Him. It’s pretty easy to get antsy and want to try to make things happen ourselves. It’s human nature to want to fix everything based on our own understanding.

But God doesn’t usually work based on our understanding!

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

The most important thing we can do when we get into trouble is to go to Him and seek His help, and then wait on Him for the answer. Making moves on our own because we think it will alleviate things quickly will almost always get us into deeper trouble.

Remember; the trouble we’re having most likely didn’t happen overnight, so we shouldn’t expect a solution that will work overnight either.

Let’s be patient, wait on God and trust Him to bring the answer we need!

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-29-13

Job 1:1 (NKJV) There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God and shunned evil.

Job loved God. His ways were blameless.

In spite of this, Job went through some terrible trials. He literally lost everything he had including his family and all of his possessions, in less than 24 hours.

What’s truly remarkable about this is that when Job received word that he had lost absolutely everything he held dear, he didn’t pot, throw a tantrum or have a pity party. Job 1:21 (NKJV) And he said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, And naked shall I return there. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; Blessed be the name of the Lord.”

Obviously, Job was sad and probably even distraught, but he refused to wallow in pity or ask God “why me?”.

So our question for everyone today is this: How would we handle something like this? Would we “lose it” and shake our fist at God, or would we trust God despite what we saw in front of us?

This is something that we will probably never know for sure until we’re in a seemingly-desperate situation. Only then will we truly be tested and see “what we’re made of”.

If we read the rest of the book of Job, we’ll see that Job went through even further trials as he was afflicted with great physical pain and suffering. Even so, Job stood fast in his faith and refused to curse God.

So how did this all turn out for Job? Ultimately, his body was healed and everything he had lost was restored to him and more. In fact, he was blessed with more than double what he originally lost, including sons and daughters.

So we ask again; “how would we handle ourselves in this kind of a situation?”. Food for thought…

Bible Verse of The Day

(Deuteronomy 7:22 NKJV)  “And the LORD your God will drive out those nations before you little by little; you will be unable to destroy them at once, lest the beasts of the field become too numerous for you.

God gave the Israelites a plan; it would be “little by little” that they would destroy the enemy. There was a reason why God did it this way, to protect them from the beasts of the field becoming too numerous for them to handle.

We have to know God’s plan, and just as He had a reason why He did it little by little, there are times it will be the same for us. Just because things seem to be taking a bit longer than we anticipated, it does not mean that we are not reaching our goal or receiving an answer. And it doesn’t mean that we won’t get the victory in our battle.

Don’t get me wrong… I have had times in my life where I felt like nothing was happening at all and things were too quiet. But we have to remember “little by little” is OK with God!! He has His reasons why.

Let God’s plan work for you. Let Him take all the time He wants when helping us win the battle.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-1-13

(Hebrews 6:12 NKJV)  that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

I find it interesting that it is through faith and patience we inherit the promises.

These two things, faith and patience, are probably what we all have a hard time with. Faith gets stronger and stronger in us as we trust God, but we will never see the answer if we don’t have patience enough to wait on Him. These two things work together to receive the promises.

We cannot just sit back and do nothing if we want answers and victory in our lives, or the lives of others around us. It’s going to take us working at having faith for things we never thought we could have, and patience for God’s timing to receiving them.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-2-12

(James 1:2-3 NKJV)  My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, {3} knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.

If we are in a trial today count it all joy. It may not seem or feel very joyful but God’s word tells us that our faith is being tested and it will produce patience in us.

This is a good thing because what happens to those who wait upon the Lord? (Isaiah 40:31 NKJV)  But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

You see, it’s in times like this that our faith gets tested and brings us to our knees to pull on God even more. It’s in these times when we see God at work, and it builds our faith each time He delivers us out of our situation. It teaches us patience as we  trust in Him.

Even in trials God will bring forth good!

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-27-12

(2 Th 3:13 NKJV)  But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary in doing good.

Have you ever felt like you just want to stop trying… like it’s not worth the effort that it takes to do the right thing?

Let me encourage you today to never, ever give up doing the right thing. There are times when it feels like it’s harder to do right than to do wrong, but that doesn’t mean that it’s not worth the effort to do right.

Giving up is the easy way out. God doesn’t want us to take the easy way. He wants us to take the way that will give Him glory and make us stronger!

Today, as you fight your way through whatever battle comes your way, remember that nothing is gained by taking the easy way.

Anything worth obtaining has to be fought for. But when the battle is won, it makes the prize that much more valuable.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-26-12

(2 Th 3:5 NKJV)  Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ.

Patience. I doubt that there is a single one of us who shouldn’t be more patient at some point each day.

The world moves at such a fast pace these days. It doesn’t matter where we live. Everything moves much faster than it did 20 years ago.

This fast-paced world has sucked all of us into wanting everything instantly. Getting something quickly isn’t always bad, but it can have some bad effects on our lives if we’re not careful, because we forget how to wait for God’s timing.

Today, if you’re driving your car and get behind someone going slower than you think they should be going, be patient. If you get in a long line at the store or at the bank, be patient.

If something isn’t happening for you as quickly as you want it to, be patient.

Be patient. God knows what we need and when we need it.
