Bible Verse of The Day – 8-8-21 – Prefect, or WIlling?

Please click to watch the video nowGreetings in the mighty name of Jesus!

We hope that you are walking close to God, our Father.

God loves when we put Him first. He loves when obeying Him is our heart’s desire.

In our latest video, Perfect, Or Willing?, we teach about the difference between trying to be perfect vs. obeying God.

Remember that, in God’s eyes, obedience is better than sacrifice.

This is a video that so many of us can learn from, so we hope you’ll take a few minutes to watch it.

We love you all immensely.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-12-21

1 Chronicles 22:19 (NKJV) 19 Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God. Therefore arise and build the sanctuary of the Lord God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord and the holy articles of God into the house that is to be built for the name of the Lord.”

I think it’s important that we notice here it says to “set your heart and soul to seek the Lord”.

And here’s what’s important to understand; no one will do this for us. No one will take this step for us; we must be the ones to take the bull by the horns, so to speak, and do it for ourselves.

Our heart and soul will not do this on their own. We must take charge and set them, or put them in the right position.

When the heart is lined up, the soul will follow.

It’s something we all need to do; set our heart and soul to seek Him.

That is where we will find our answers, our peace, our healing, our provision.

As we obey Him, He will deliver. And we will eat the good of the land.

Isaiah 1:19 (NKJV) 19 If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land…

God will not do this for us. As His children, it is up to us to take the time we need to get with Him. And that is how we will grow and move forward in the plan He has for us.

It won’t happen by us just spending time in church services. It won’t happen by just talking the talk. He wants individual, one-on-one time with us so we can make things right with Him.

And it’s up to us to set our hearts and soul to seek Him out.

Make the time. Stay close, and know what He is saying to us today.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-1-21

1 Kings 17:11 (NKJV) 11 And as she was going to get it, he called to her and said, “Please bring me a morsel of bread in your hand.”

As Elijah spoke to this particular widow, this was her giving moment right here. If she chose to obey God, she would be saved from the dire situation she was facing.

The woman had just enough food left for her and her son to eat a final meal, then they were going to die.

Then, along comes a man of God; a prophet named Elijah.

Elijah was asking her to make him a meal before making one for herself and her son.

She had to decide what she should do.

I can only imagine, with her child to think of, what a decision this would be to have to make.

Well, she chose to listen and do what the prophet asked. In return, God made provision for her.

1 Kings 17:14 (NKJV) 14 For thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘The bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry, until the day the Lord sends rain on the earth.’

She sowed the remainder of what she had, and she did it with the right heart.

The seed she gave went into good ground. And she and her son were taken care of.

Boy, how quickly things can change when we obey.

We know that giving is a very touchy subject for some people. Many people would rather not discuss it.

But the reason we choose to teach on this sensitive topic is because we know it can help people immensely once they understand it.

We teach on it because it’s God’s truth, and it works.

We have seen God move in so many ways when we have obeyed Him in this area.

When giving is done from the heart, it is powerful!

We have literally seen God come through many times on our behalf, or on the behalf of others, because of our giving of one thing or another.

Sometimes It’s money. Other times it’s labor or spending time with someone.

Sometimes it is giving up food for a period of time (fasting), etc. It’s whatever God is asking of us at that particular moment in time.

Oh, the joys of giving! The blessings of the Lord that come from planting our seed in God-given fertile ground.

Sometimes we are not sure if we should give to certain things. When this happens, we may feel torn and undecided.

One day, while listening to someone’s situation, they began crying and saying they couldn’t do it alone. They needed financial help.

Their emotional plea began to move me, and I was willing to give anything I could to help them at that moment.

But when I pulled myself together, I asked God, “do you want me to give to this cause?”.

I thought for sure He would tell me “yes”, and then give me an amount.

But to my surprise He said, “no”. Just like that. No.

I found out later they got more than what they needed within a very short time.

God knew. And I’m glad I listened.

Giving is something we need to take seriously.

When God says, “give”, we need to obey.

When God says, “no, not for this”, no matter how much it is pulling or tugging on our emotions, we need to obey and follow God’s lead.

We can’t let our emotions cause us to act in such a way that it overrides what God is saying to do.

Ask Him for guidance or reassurance, and then follow.

Giving is powerful and makes a difference if we give to what, who and where we are supposed to. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-27-21

Romans 8:28 (NKJV) 28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Are we ready for God to show us great and mighty things?

Are we willing to take steps of obedience?

Are we ready to lay down the desires of our own hearts and walk in His desires, letting His plan unfold right before our very eyes?

How exciting it will be to follow after Him and walk in His way for us.

We may be scared at times; we may not know the outcome of our steps. But one thing we will know for sure is that as we obey Him and follow His lead, we will win!

Now, how do we know we will win?

Because God does not lie. He tells us to obey and follow His path, and all things will work together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purposes.

The most important thing here is that we love Him. And that love will cause us to want to obey His purpose for our lives.

Now, we may say, “Pastors, how do we know His purpose for our life?”.

Will God lead us blindly? Will we not know what to do or say in any given situation?

Has there been anyone in the Bible that followed Him and did not know at any time what to do or not to do?

Even at their worst, they knew to TRUST HIM and He would show up!!

If we ask of Him, will He not answer us?

Matthew 7:11 (NKJV) 11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

He will never leave us high and dry. He will never leave us without a plan and He will never neglect giving  us what we need when He feels we need it.

Never ever will He forsake us.

Hebrews 13:5 (NKJV) 5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Let us take a moment today and surrender our plans to Him, and say, “Lord, if there is something you’d rather have me do…let’s do it Your way! “  In Jesus’ name we ask… Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-17-21

Exodus 14:14 (NKJV) 14 The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”

We are living in times where we need to know when to pull back and hold our peace. Be still. Don’t make a move. Don’t say a word.

There is a move of God coming that will be loud and clear.

You see, when God moves, there is no questioning it, and no trying to get out of it.

Manipulation will not work with Him.

It is what it is. It will be what He calls it. Kind of like the referee; when he calls you out, you’re out! Final word. No appeals allowed.

I have seen people throughout my life fight God on some things. They thought they could change the outcome of something. But it remained the way it needed to be.

Sometimes we just want it to be our way. We don’t care at the time about the circumstances or the big picture. We just want to see something take place, something that will give us great satisfaction.

As humans, that’s what it is. We want to see it our way most times.

Let me say, that as we begin to trust God enough to fight for us, we will actually become winners. We will be strong in our going out and our coming in.

Joshua 14:11 (NKJV) 11 As yet I am as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength for war, both for going out and for coming in.

Hold our peace today. Trust Him to fight for us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-22-20

1 Samuel 16:1 (NKJV) 1 Now the Lord said to Samuel, “How long will you mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go; I am sending you to Jesse the Bethlehemite. For I have provided Myself a king among his sons.”

When God brings a change to a situation, we need to move with it.

He’s merciful and compassionate and gives us time to mourn over the loss or sacrifice, but the time comes when we need to get up and move forward.

I believe God is saying to someone today, get up, fill your horn with oil and go.

Saul’s day as king was done. He had been rejected because he disobeyed God. But God had already provided for a new king. His name was David.

Samuel was being sent to Jesse, David’s father, to anoint David as the next king.

There came David, a shepherd, to be anointed as king.

Just as God had seen the disobedience in Saul, and took action to provide the next king (a man after His own heart), He will also provide for us in advance for the things that need to change.

1 Samuel 13:14 (NKJV) 14 But now your kingdom shall not continue. The Lord has sought for Himself a man after His own heart, and the Lord has commanded him to be commander over His people, because you have not kept what the Lord commanded you.”

Samuel mourned for Saul. But God said, let’s move on, I have provision. Let’s go get him.

Are we still holding on to things and mourning over them when we should be moving on?

I’m talking about jobs, friends, relationships, positions or success, etc

We don’t live life in the past. We live life today and into our tomorrows.

Good memories are nice to have, wonderful to remember, look at and reminisce over.

We can hold them dear to our hearts. But we must know that they are now memories. They are of the past, and we need to move on into the future, the new day with new things that God will usher in.

So, what will we do?

Will we stop mourning over what was, and enter into what is? Will we move forward toward what God has made provision for in a big way?

He will fill the emptiness. He will bring comfort. And He will heal as we go forward.

Let’s move on today, even if it is only one little step forward. Even that little step is forward motion.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-26-20

Psalm 119:143 (NKJV) 143 Trouble and anguish have overtaken me, Yet Your commandments are my delights.

There are always going to be things that try and overtake us at certain stages in our journey. No matter who we are, we will face troubling times.

It’s so important that, as we go through them, we watch and we listen for God’s commandments. Because whether we want to believe it or not, He will be there with us, both in the good times and in the hard times.

Keep obeying His commandments.

One of the first things we tend to do is to pull back from God when things aren’t going right or going the way we think they should go.

But, it’s important to recognize and remember hard times may be used by God to get us to where we need to be in our walk.

Don’t believe the hype talk that we hear so much of. Believe the real talk. God is God in our lives as much as we follow His commandments (His word and His precepts) and allow Him to be God.

He is with us in the storm, and I would add that He is with us in the calm. He is with us in the low times. He is with us in the high times. He is with us in the sad and sorrowful moments of our life, He is with us in the upbeat and exciting times for sure.

Delight in His commandments as David did and watch how He turns sorrow into joy!

Esther 9:22 (NKJV) 22 as the days on which the Jews had rest from their enemies, as the month which was turned from sorrow to joy for them, and from mourning to a holiday; that they should make them days of feasting and joy, of sending presents to one another and gifts to the poor.

God is good! He will turn our sorrow to joy. Our mourning to a holiday.

Delight in His commandments no matter what. Don’t turn our backs on Him. Stay steadfast and keep doing what He has told us to do.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-13-20

Joshua 7:20-21 (NKJV) 20 And Achan answered Joshua and said, “Indeed I have sinned against the Lord God of Israel, and this is what I have done: 21 When I saw among the spoils a beautiful Babylonian garment, two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold weighing fifty shekels, I coveted them and took them. And there they are, hidden in the earth in the midst of my tent, with the silver under it.”

Yesterday, we left off after establishing that “accursed things” are things that God has told us not to touch.

This is huge when it comes to God’s blessings being in our homes, our relationships, our work place and our church family.

What have we allowed in?

It’s usually something that God has told us very clearly not to get involved with; Not to take it, or line up with it.

Sometimes it’s not even us that’s at fault. Maybe it’s someone else that is in our family or our “camp”.

The “accursed thing” is usually something that is very much desired or loved. And it has brought much pain.

It has caused much sorrow, and not just for the one person that desired it, but for the whole kit n caboodle; the whole family, the whole church, the whole lot of employees, etc.

It has affected our siblings and our loved ones. And it affects us deeply when it comes to hearing from God.

His blessings have stopped, and we are sitting here saying, “why, God, why?”.

Just as God told Joshua, we are saying to you, “get up! Sanctify your place and move forward”.

Some may say, “well, I haven’t been able to make any changes. God’s not hearing me. He has left me. All I see is hardship and sickness, death all around me and others related to me”.

What accursed thing have we desired more than obeying God? We need to figure that out because that is the very thing that is hurting us.

That is the thing that has caused us a failed marriage, health issues, lost jobs, abusive relationships, financial problems, struggles with addictive behavior, etc.

If we don’t know, we need to find out.

It’s time to get serious and sanctify ourselves, our home, our relationships, and our children.

It’s time to boot that accursed thing out the door and get back on track with God. Because if we don’t, then we’ve failed Him.

Boot it out! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-12-20

Joshua 7:13 (NKJV) 13 Get up, sanctify the people, and say, ‘Sanctify yourselves for tomorrow, because thus says the Lord God of Israel: “There is an accursed thing in your midst, O Israel; you cannot stand before your enemies until you take away the accursed thing from among you.”

We want to talk today about accursed things.

In this particular verse, God was speaking to Joshua about a man named Achan.

Achan had a coveting issue (Joshua 7:21). He had taken some things from a battle they were in. He then hid them under his tent.

They consisted of a beautiful Babylonian garment, two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold weighing 50 shekels.

God had warned them not to take anything. By doing what he did, his sin and disobedience affected the whole of the children of Israel.

That’s right. It opened the door for defeat and destruction on them all.

They had to get rid of him, his family and all his goods in order to fix things.

Accursed things are things that God says, “don’t touch”.

What accursed things do we have today in our home or in our walk that have brought doom on us and have even affected others around us?

This is a big deal and it has become a major problem in the lives of many, many believers.

So, let’s take a closer look at this tomorrow.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-6-20

Judges 13:1 (NKJV) 1 Again the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and the Lord delivered them into the hand of the Philistines for forty years.

I have spent a fair amount of time in the Old Testament over the last few months.

During this time, I have made an observation that is truly saddening. In fact, this morning while I was shaving, I was listening to the book of 1st Chronicles, and I heard the phrase “and he did what was evil in the sight of the Lord” yet again.

I literally shook my head in bewilderment at the people of Israel, wondering how they could have been so callous in their attitudes toward God. How could they continue, over and over again, to defy God and turn their backs on Him?

My question was somewhat rhetorical, I guess, because I already knew the answer.

Their hearts were never really for God. They just wanted whatever He would give them.

Time and time again we read how God would bless His people. They would serve Him for a short period of time, and then they would turn to other gods.

Eventually, God would become agitated with them, and His wrath would be poured out on them in one way or another.

This was usually in the form of various sicknesses or diseases. Sometimes it was in the form of being captured by foreign leaders and taken into captivity for a number of years.

God clearly punished them for their lack of loyalty. But the punishment was also for their behavior; their abhorrent actions that were a stench in the nostrils of God.

One other thing I noticed is that it wasn’t just the nation as a whole that was guilty. Individuals carried this attribute too, doing evil in the sight of the Lord. And they paid the price also.

But in all of this, something else stands out clearly. And it is this; when the people’s hearts turned, and they sincerely repented, God’s mercy was always right there to make a way for them to come back to Him and live under His blessings.

There is so much we can all learn from this when it comes to how our actions affect the path of our lives.

And here’s the “moral of the story”. Love God. Put Him first in everything. And walk in His favor.
