Bible Verse of The Day – 2-8-22

James 4:10 (NKJV) 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

This is one of the most crucial things we can learn to do as a believer. Being sincerely humble in His sight will cause things to change.

It can’t be fake. It can’t be temporary. It has to be sincere and consistent.

As believers of our Lord and Savior, we must understand the importance of allowing the Holy Spirit to help us remain in such a place in our heart.

Walking in humility is letting go of things we once had control of, and allowing God to teach us a whole new way of doing things.

We let Him be our leader. We talk to Him and ask Him to guide our steps.

We have seen some awesome things take place because we have allowed God to be the leader of this ministry and over our personal lives as well.

Our heart is to serve Him and do it His way. We don’t chase after our desires any longer. We long to see His desires come to pass.

Tremendous things take place when we walk out humility. When it is functioning and moving in our hearts, God will touch every area of our lives.

We love you all dearly, and we are believing that God is touching your heart right now.

Let Him lead us toward what we need to let go of, and let Him have it fully. Follow Him through, and our situation will change. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-20-21

James 4:10 (NKJV) 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

How do we remain humble?

We keep ourselves accountable to God’s word. By doing so our attitude, our disposition, our whole being and the way we carry ourselves will be subject to Him.

Proverbs 16:18 (NKJV) 18 Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.

Pride is one of the things that the enemy will use to get a believer off course. It will cause great destruction in our life if we don’t catch it and deal with it immediately.

The best way to deal with anything is to be truthful with ourselves, recognize what we are doing and allow God to correct us as His child. He will show us how to get free from it and bring us back to the place we need to be in Him.

Hebrews 12:7 (NKJV) 7 If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten?

He loves us dearly and will help us and keep us safe in our walk as we humbly stay surrendered to Him.

Do we want to be lifted up today? Pay attention to our behavior patterns, specifically pride, and let God grow us into humble believers.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-8-19

James 4:10 (NKJV) 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

It’s not very often that we think of God exalting us. Usually we think more of us exalting God.

But there are definitely times when God exalts us or lifts us up. Let’s take a look at this and see what we can get from it.

First, God specifies who He will lift up. Who would that be? Those who humble themselves in His sight.

God wants us to be humble. Humility has many benefits, whereas pride has many downfalls.

Now let’s look at why God would lift us up or exalt us.

He wants us to exemplify Christ. And He wants us to bring glory and honor to His name. It’s hard for us to do this if we are haughty, conceited or prideful.

Prideful people aren’t typically received well by others. People who think more highly of themselves than they should will tend to repel people, rather than attract them.

On the other hand, people who are humble will usually tend to attract others.

But wait. Does it really matter if we’re popular with others or not?

No. Not really. This isn’t about being popular. It’s about being a representative of God on the earth. We can’t represent God very well if people tend to stay away from us because of pride.

Because of this, it’s important that we let God show us where pride might be lurking in our lives, so we can let Him help us root it out.

In the long run, as we become humbler, more Christlike, we will begin to be able to see God work in our lives on a larger scale.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-5-19

James 4:10 (NKJV) 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

We often hear about making sure we lift God up and exalt Him. And so it should be. After all, He is God, right?

But did you know that there are times when God lifts us up and exalts us?

Yep! His word says so!

Now, this doesn’t mean that we should get prideful and puffed up about it. On the contrary, we need to be humble. If we are not humble, God will never even consider lifting us up.

It’s our pride that keeps us from being close to God. And it will be our pride that causes us to fall if we don’t keep it in check.

But God loves humility. He loves it so much that He says He will lift us up and exalt us if we’re humble.

Luke 18:14 (NKJV) 14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

It’s safe to say that if God takes humility seriously, then we should also!

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-20-19

James 4:10 (NKJV) 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

Humble – lower in dignity or importance. Not looking at ourselves and thinking we are any better than someone else, but loving them and treating them the way we would want to be treated.

It’s easy to get carried away with ourselves sometimes. Especially when we begin looking at our wealth, position, title and the things we have built up for ourselves over time.

Looking at these things can sometimes be the culprit, causing us to think and act proudly.

One day while talking to a businessman, he asked what we did. We shared about the ministry work, and other things we do alongside it. We told him we don’t have a lot of material things or a lot of extra money. However, we have everything we need and we love what we do every day.

We get up in the mornings with excitement, ready to face a brand-new day. We look forward with anticipation toward the things God will do with us and through us. And many times we find ourselves singing throughout the day as we do our work.

Much to our surprise, the man we were talking to said, “that is success! It takes people working most of their lives to get there, and some never make it. But you are living it. You are living the dream, because you love what you are doing every day.”

Praise be to God! We had no idea. We weren’t ever searching for it. It just showed up as we gave God our days and truly wanted what He wanted for us. And we wouldn’t change it for all the wealth or material things of this World!

God is good! As we humble ourselves and follow Him, He will lift us up and we won’t give it much thought because success for us is not in the material things we have, but walking in the things God has for us to do, while focusing on staying close to Him.

In all things, remain humble.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-5-18

James 4:10 (NKJV) 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

Humble (verb): to lower yourself (or someone else) in dignity or importance

Being humble is a big part of surrendering. If we are to truly surrender ourselves to God, we can’t do so if we are proud or haughty. We can’t do so if we have a high opinion of ourselves.

God has to come first, and we have to put ourselves beneath Him. And in many cases, He will also ask us to put ourselves beneath others. We can’t serve someone that we think we are better than.

If we need a perfect example of humility, all we need to do is look at Jesus. He was humble in every aspect, even in surrendering His life willingly, knowing that He had the power to do otherwise.

Mark 10:45 (NKJV) 45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

Pride is the opposite of what God has called us to. Pride is shameful and will keep us from fulfilling the call of God on our lives. Pride will destroy us if we don’t get a handle on it and remove it from our lives.

Proverbs 16:18 (NKJV) 18 Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.

So, if we desire to be lifted up, we need to let God be the One to do the lifting. He has promised to do so if we will just humble ourselves.

And when God does something, He does it right the first time. Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-16-18

Matthew 18:4 (NKJV) 4 Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Who will be the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?

This is a question that the disciples asked Jesus. They were trying to figure out which of them would be the greatest.

Wow! When Jesus heard their question, He wasted no time in putting them in their places and setting the record straight!

Jesus had them bring a small child to Him. He told the disciples that whoever humbles themselves like a little child will be the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. This was definitely not what they had expected to hear.

God and man think differently. Man looks at outward things, while God looks at inward things.

We see accomplishments, while God sees our heart and its motives.

Humility is a hard thing for many of us. We have a tough time getting past our own skills, talents and accomplishments. But we need to remember that it was God himself who gave us those very same skills and talents!

Without Him, we can do nothing.

John 15:5 (NKJV) 5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

It’s important that we keep God first. He will teach us to be humble in everything that we do.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-20-17

John 6:15 (NKJV) 15 Therefore when Jesus perceived that they were about to come and take Him by force to make Him king, He departed again to the mountain by Himself alone.

Jesus came for one reason; to serve.

During His time here on earth, Jesus never once demanded that anyone serve Him or hold Him up as royalty. Instead, He would always serve others. He proved this when He chose to wash the feet of the disciples right before He was arrested and taken away to be beaten and then crucified.

In John 6:15 Jesus had just fed a multitude of people in a very miraculous way. The people saw this and they had it in their hearts and minds to make Him their earthly king. They were determined to do this, even if it meant doing so forcibly.

But because Jesus knew His purpose here on earth, He quietly slipped away so He could be alone.

As always, Jesus set such an incredible example for us. Despite being God in the flesh, He humbled Himself and served those He encountered. He loved people, including us, in spite of faults and evil intentions.

There is no doubt that He had moments when He stood up and spoke boldly when it was needed. He had no problem separating black from white… evil from good. But He always chose to love above all things.

How about us? Do we choose to love and pull away to a quiet place if someone tries to exalt us? Or do we get caught up in it and bask in the glory for ourselves?

Humility is a hard thing sometimes. Pride can catch us off guard if we’re not careful.

But as we grow and mature as a believer, humility will overtake our pride. And we will soon be acting more and more like Jesus, shunning the spotlight and pulling away to spend time alone with our Father.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-9-16

Numbers 14:24 But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it.

God mentioned above that Caleb had a different spirit. The difference in Caleb’s spirit was that he recognized his own weakness and yet had no problem believing that His God would give them victory over the giants in that land.

He knew that God wanted them to possess the land, and no matter what it took, it would be the way God said it would be.

That’s the difference in spirit.

What were the other men saying? “We can’t, they are too big, it’s not for us.” They were weak, full of doubt and looking for sympathy.

Even though they looked like they were afraid and scared, in reality they were full of pride. They thought, “if we can’t do it, comprehend it or see that it’s possible, then we need to dismiss it”. They thought that if they couldn’t do it by their own strength then it couldn’t be done. They left God completely out of the equation!

That is full-blown pride right there. Because it’s in our weakness that God’s strength is made perfect. Acknowledging our weakness and letting God help us is the different spirit that God was referring to.

So many people miss out on the things God can do because of the different spirit, the spirit of pride that will dismiss the next step; The most important step. The step that involves humility and accepting God’s help.

Are we letting God’s strength be made perfect in our weakness today? Or do we dismiss something because we can’t figure it out intellectually?

It’s the humble, those who admit their weakness and allow God to help them through it, that will reach the promised land! Amen.

James 4:10 (NKJV) 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

What is God showing us today? Are we admitting we can’t do it without Him? Are we willing to let Him teach us something outside of what we already know?

Let Him help us reach our promised land today by acknowledging that we need Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-14-16

Matthew 11:29 (NKJV) 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Jesus wants us to learn from Him. He walked on this earth for many reasons, one of which was to set an example for us to follow in our own lives.

One of the things we should learn from Him is humility. Being humble is something that can bring us very far in our lives.

Being humble means that we don’t always have to be right.

Being humble means that we remain teachable, no matter how high we climb on the ladder of success.

Being humble means admitting when we’re wrong.

Being humble means we’re willing to say we’re sorry.

And being humble means that we learn to put others before ourselves.

There are so many other things we can learn from Jesus. But if we can learn humility, the rest of those things will come even more easily.
