Bible Verse of The Day – 8-10-13

Ephesians 2 (NKJV) And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins…

We were all dead in our sins. Every single one of us. And sadly, very few of us even knew we were dead.

It is our sin that separates us from God. It is the great canyon that stands between us and the Father. This canyon is so vast that the human eye cannot see across it.

There is no bridge that can be built across this canyon, except for one. That one bridge cannot be built by human hands or human engineering. It is a bridge created in the spirit realm. That bridge is created across the shoulders of Immanuel, God with us, Jesus Christ.

It is held together with the large nails that were driven into His wrists and feet. And it is painted in His blood, the precious blood that washes our sins away.

And yet, even though we were dead, we have been made alive! Amen!!

Jesus paid the price for our sin… our terrible sin, and offers us redemption through His brutal death and beautiful resurrection.

This, the ultimate sacrifice, is the one thing that can make us alive and put our sin so far from us that it cannot be found or seen again.

Thank Him today for this incredible bridge that was built in a way that no man and no demon can destroy it.

Thank Him and give Him glory and honor.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-12-12

(Deu 6:12 NKJV)  “then beware, lest you forget the LORD who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

Sometimes I wonder, if I could start all over again at the age of 48, if I would change things in my life.

Honestly, I think there are some things I would love to do differently, knowing what I know now, but there are some things I never want to forget or change and wish I could remember every little detail. It is hard to remember every little thing, for over time it fades with life and all its activities.

There are things I never want to do over again, especially those things that hurt deeply and were painful to face. But those were the things that brought me to my knees; those were the times that drew me closer to God, closer then ever before.

I  never want to forget how He lifted me up, how He held me in His arms, how He comforted me, and how He turned the situation around. I hold dear to me His touch, His voice, and His faithfulness!!

God has truly taken me from the land of Egypt at times and from the bondage I was once in and brought me into His precious freedom!

Never forget the FREEDOM we can only find in HIM!!

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-30-12

John 8:36 NKJV)  “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

The Israelites had been set free from slavery. Moses brought them out of Egypt to take them on a journey to go to a new land; the land which God had promised them.

It happened by way of miracles that God performed through Moses to get them out from under the hand of Pharaoh. God performed miracles time after time to get Pharaoh to let His people go!

When the people of Israel were released, they were happy and excited at first. But, as time went on. they found things to complain and murmur about. Even the miracles that God did for them weren’t not good enough anymore. In their discontent, they actually wanted to go back to Egypt, the land that God set them free from!

Are we feeling the same way today? Has God set us free from our Egypt? It could have been our friends or family that hurt us or took advantage of us, jobs that caused us stress, debt, addictions, our lack of knowledge in certain areas, etc. Are we longing to go back because maybe the new things aren’t as easy and the grass isn’t as GREEN as we thought it would be?

When Jesus sets us free He promises that WE are free indeed! We can’t let our flesh cause us to go back, no matter how hard it may fight us. We need to stay strong, letting God lead us to the promised land which He has for us.

You will see it is all worth it!!

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-30-12

(Phil 4:13 NKJV)  I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

There is not a single person reading this who hasn’t faced at least one situation where they have felt inadequate, intimidated or overwhelmed. We all face this from time to time.

But God’s word tells us that we can do ALL THINGS thought Christ.

He is our strength. He is our source of strength. In Him, we can do all things, even when we feel inadequate, intimidated, overwhelmed or anything else that might make us turn away from something that we’re facing.

This is not just another pep talk or “feel good” message. Through Christ, we have what it takes to make it… to make a difference in our own lives and the lives of others, even when we face tough circumstances and situations.

Fear is not of God, but of the enemy of our souls. Don’t give in to fear. Rebuke fear in the name of Jesus and pull your strength from Him.

Today, as you face your fears and your trials, take a deep breath and draw your strength from Jesus, and put one foot in front of the other. Move forward and don’t look back.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-20-12

(Psa 119:109 NKJV)  My life is continually in my hand, Yet I do not forget Your law.

God gives us the freedom to live and do as we please. He does not try to control us in any way.

Here He is the Creator of the Universe, yet He still gives us free will to do as we want. Now, He wants us to do the right thing of course. He wants us to obey His Word. But He still gives us time and freedom to make our own choices. This can help us to understand the difference between man-made religion and a real relationship with Christ.

Because God gives us a free will to make our own decision without pressure, guilt trips or being tormented, we as God’s children also need to do the same when we are dealing with people. We shouldn’t try to get people to do things or people should not try to get us to do things by force or manipulation. Giving guidance and instruction is good…but giving guidance and instruction and forcing someone into something is NOT good.

If you feel like you are being controlled by emotions, or feeling guilted into doing things you don’t want to be doing, then this is not of God. This is of man and not by God’s Spirit. This is by a man-made, religious spirit, which is a spirit that tries to take on the same look as God. It can even quote scripture, but it does not let you do things willingly or freely; it forces you into doing things through, guilt and fear and condemnation.

God wants us to want to do the right thing. He wants us to want to obey Him willingly, not be forced to obey Him. If we do it because we want to change, with all sincerity and love for God, our hearts will be changed and our walk with Him will be REAL!!

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-26-12

(Rom 6:22 NIV)  But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.

Jesus died to set us free… nothing more and nothing less.

He died to set us free from sin. Sin can ensnare us and cause spiritual death. Sin separates us from God and causes a great division between us and Him.

With sin, there will come consequences. Sometimes these consequences can be small and other times they can be far-reaching, affecting us and those around us for years to come.

This is the very reason we need to make our choices wisely and carefully in everything we do.

Jesus gives us freedom to choose right from wrong. Let’s choose very carefully and make wise choices and enjoy the freedom that He died to give us!
