Bible Verse of The Day – 4-25-20

Mark 10:14 (NKJV) 14 But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.

We have been receiving prayer requests for children a lot lately and it just pains me to hear of suffering children.

I always think, “why children?”. Then I am reminded the devil doesn’t care who it is. He wants to kill, steal and destroy everyone.

Thank God He is faithful!, whether we are a child or an adult. He can heal both. God wants us to teach our children how to come to Him, in good times, and in hard times. In times of sickness, and times of rejoicing!

Just recently a little 6 yr. old girl needed prayer. The father wrote in from India. He said she was sick with a fever, not eating and she had ulcers in her little mouth. He was very worried and concerned about her.

Oh, the power of Prayer. Today we received an email saying his little girl is healed. Praise be to God Almighty! May that little child know her HEALER!

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NKJV) 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Pray for our children, whether they are sick or they need guidance. Maybe they are being led down the wrong path, hanging with the wrong crowd and developing addictions. Let them know Who God is. Teach them to run to Him in prayer.

Don’t give up on our children, no matter how bad it may seem. God is faithful! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-1-20

Mark 10:16 (NKJV) 16 And He took them up in His arms, laid His hands on them, and blessed them.

Jesus loves the little children; the very children that the disciples didn’t want near Him.

When Jesus saw them forbidding the children to come near Him, He was like, “oh no no, you let them come to me.”

I just love this example!

Mark 10:14 (NKJV) 14 But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.

Children meant a lot to Jesus. He took them in His arms, He laid hands on them and blessed them.

We need to pay attention to our children. We need to talk with them, spend time with them, eat with them, play with them and show them love.

Jesus took them in His arms and He loved on them.

When is the last time we took our child, whether young or old, and held them in our arms?

Maybe we are angry at them for things they have done, or choices they have made. But they still need to know that we love them in spite of it all.

Some of us are dealing with children issues and it can rob them of the attention we need to give them. There may be a timing for it. But we need to let Jesus guide our words and our steps toward reconciling, so that it will be meaningful and leave an impression when it all takes place.

Parents, love on your children. Take them in your arms and, as Jesus did, bless them!

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-31-18

Matthew 19:14 (NKJV) 14 But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”

Children are very special to Jesus. He says in this verse, let them come to Me, do not forbid them.

As parents, one thing we know is that when kids are little we can help them in so many ways. They will look up to us and listen. And most of the time they will obey what we say.

They stand by every word Mommy and Daddy say as being true.

This is the time to help them by molding them and teaching them truth. Kids want the truth!

It doesn’t mean they won’t stray at times throughout their lives. They may try different things, but our voices will remain in their ears as authorities.

Direct our children to Jesus and His truth. Take time out of our busyness and theirs. Don’t let them run us around causing us to be too tired to sit with them. Talk, share and show them how to get to Jesus.

They will follow.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-4-18

Proverbs 22:6 (NKJV) 6 Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.

Children; what beautiful little blessings they are.

We all know that every child is different. Some are aggressive and outgoing. Some are quiet and very content. While some are loud and boisterous. They are all very different in the little person that they are.

Each one has their strengths, and they also have their weaknesses. Most times, we as their parents recognize the areas where they will probably need help before anyone else does.

It’s so important, if we notice an area that they are weak in, that we don’t neglect it or ignore it. We can’t try to make up excuses for them. If we do, it may affect them for the rest of their lives. They will take what we have said to them and hold on to it, and it will become their crutch.

We need to teach our children to face their weaknesses. Steer them toward God even at a young age, and they will see that He is faithful and He takes the time to help even the little ones.

God is good. He will even meet our children where they are at and speak to their little hearts.

They can be strong too, through Christ who strengthens us all.

Philippians 4:13 (NKJV) 13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-25-17

Proverbs 22:6 (NKJV) 6 Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.

Children are a blessing from God. He expects us, as their parents, to teach them the good and right things to do in life. How to obey, respect, love and pray. This all starts right in the home.

In order to teach them the right things to do, we must experience them ourselves. God will help us as we address things in our own personal lives so that we, in return, can help them learn.

When we have victory over something we go through, we can offer help to others who are in the same boat, so to speak.

Some of us may be seeing some of those same struggles in our children. Most times we can spot it in them even when they are very young. It’s good that we see it, but now we need to help them through it.

We need to ask God to help us get victory over it first so that we can help them.

It’s time to get real. Our children need us and they are worth every bit of the work and time we put into raising them

As we train them up in the way they should go, not only will we be blessed and enjoy them, but they will be a blessing to others all throughout their lives.

Bible verse of The Day – 1-25-17

Proverbs 22:6 (NKJV) 6 Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.

All parents, whether couples or single, play an important role in their child’s life.

It’s not about how much money we have to give them or how many gifts they get. They don’t have to have the best clothes or go to the best school. It’s not about being there for every sport they are in or game they play.

The most important thing we can ever give our child, or children, is a knowledge of God and the teachings of Christ.

Life is so hard to live without Him. So no matter what else we provide for them it is useless if we don’t teach them to know how to live and to enjoy all that they have.

Material things will never bring long lasting, true happiness for our children. But the love of God, through His Son Jesus Christ, gives us a lasting and fulfilling JOY like none other. It gives us wisdom, discernment and guidance throughout our whole life.

Take time out of our schedule and teach them. Pray with them and train them up.

Parents have a responsibility and the best thing we can do for those precious little babies, teens or young adults is to give them the ARMS that will help hold them through thick and thin, through good times and bad times for all of their lives.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-24-16

Ephesians 6:4 (NKJV) 4 And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.

God has laid it upon our heart this past week, reminding us that families need our prayers.

Some families have lost the simplicity of spending time together; eating together, laughing together, praying together, talking and spending time just being a family.

It doesn’t matter how many people or parents our family is made up of. We need to be consistent in spending meaningful time with each other. How do we train or bring up our children properly if we do not spend time together?

It’s not hard nowadays to lose sight of the important things like “family time” with all the distractions around us. Things like finances, sports, work, internet, TV, etc., can take up a lot of our time if we’re not careful.

Maybe it’s time to take a good look at where most of our time is spent and rearrange some things. It’s time to get our priorities in order.

Family is our blessing and it’s our responsibility to bring them up correctly! It’s something that we need to keep at the top of our list of priorities, spending time together, training, teaching and loving on them, just as the Lord loves on us.

God, thank you for families today. And please help us to make time for each other. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-1-15

Proverbs 22:6 (NKJV) 6 Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.

Training up our children; This is our responsibility. It’s not up to the church, the school systems, our parents, aunts and uncles, nanny, babysitter or daycare center, etc.

This training should be done by the parents or parent, in the home, a safe place where a child can come and freely ask questions and get good, Godly advice and answers.

God cares for our children more than we can imagine. We may feel like we are inadequate at times, but with His help and guidance, through His word and prayer, He will guide our steps.

James 1:5 (NKJV) 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

Rest in Him today and let Him help us train up our children, with His wisdom, understanding and strength.

Our children need God!

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-10-15

Psalm 127:3 (NKJV) 3 Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward.

I got to spend some time with my grandkids this afternoon.

They stopped by for a while after we had eaten our lunch. When they got here, I still had some work to get finished up, so I stayed focused and got it finished. But once I was finished, they got my undivided attention.

And I loved every minute of it 🙂

I got to lay on the floor and draw and color some pictures. We ate together. I sang some silly songs for them. We shared some big laughs and we just hung out and “did stuff”.

After they had gone home, God impressed on my heart how much of a blessing children really are.

Yes, they are a lot of work to raise. And sometimes they can be tiring, frustrating and even exasperating! But in the end, they are a blessing.

It is so very important that we give our children, and our grandchildren, the time that they deserve. They really do grow up so quickly. And before we know it, we’re looking back and wondering where the time went, and wishing that we had spent more time with them instead of insisting that we will spend time with them when everything else gets caught up or finished.

I want to remind everyone today that many of those things can wait. Whether it’s work, ministry, pleasure, hobbies or anything else, it’s very rarely more important than the precious little lives that God has placed us in charge of nurturing.

We challenge everyone, including ourselves, to take a look at how we’re spending our time and make sure that we’re not putting our children or grandchildren in second place, behind less important things.

Remember; what they see in us as parents and grandparents is also how they will view God, their Heavenly Father.
