(Phil 4:13 NKJV)  I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

It is in Christ that we have the victory! Sometimes we may forget who gets us to the place of freedom, place of enjoyment, and a place of happiness!

Remember today and give Christ the Glory for the good work which He has done in you and through you.

If you’re in a situation today that has you down and out, hold onto Christ with everything in you and believe His Word today for you Whether you need Him on your job, or in your home, or even in your church, etc., He will be there!!

God bless you.

(Gal 6:2 NKJV)  Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

It’s very important that we learn to bear each other’s burdens.

God has created us as a body, not as a large group of rugged individualists who are supposed to be self-sufficient.

We all know someone with a need. We all know someone who is going through a tough time, or a trial of some kind.

But when was the last time we offered help to any of these people?

Just as we learned in Saturday’s verse about sowing seeds, we also need to be willing to give of ourselves and our resources to those around us who need it. It’s actually another facet of sowing and reaping,

Take a look at those around you today. See if there is someone who is going through a tough time or a trial of some kind and then ask God what you can do to show His love to them.

(Gal 6:8 NKJV)  For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.

Let me ask you a question today.

Is there something that you wish to reap? Is there something that you hope to have?

What seeds have you been sowing for this harvest that you’re looking for?

There are some of us who want people to be kind to us. Are we sowing seeds if kindness to others?

There are some of us who want to be loved. Are we sowing seeds of love to those around us, regardless of who they are or how lovable they are?

I know there are very many of us who would like to have more finances. We want to get out of debt and be financially free. Are we sowing seeds of finances? Are we giving of our money?

Here’s the thing that so often gets overlooked, even though it’s a very simple Biblical principle.

Whatever it is that we’re looking to reap, that is the very thing that we need to be sowing. We will never reap kindness if we’re unkind to those around us. We will never reap love if we’re hateful to people. We will never reap finances if we’re cheap and stingy with our own finances.

Watermelon seeds grow watermelons. Corn seeds grow corn. Apple seeds grow apples.

I know this seems so very basic, but it’s a foundational truth that we all need to get.

Stop and ask yourself what it is that you’ve been hoping to get. And then ask yourself if you’ve been sowing that seed.

(Mat 7:7 NKJV) “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

Be careful when we ask God for something, knowing that He will answer us, that we don’t try to put a demand on Him as to when He will do it.

The timing of our answered prayer is in His hands and the way He wants to answer it is also in His hands.

His word says…ask, and it will be given to you…not, ask and tell me when and how we would like it done. No!

What happens when we put improper demands on God? It can cause us to fall into depression, ungratefulness, negativity and disappointment, to the point where we can lose our JOY and our faith. It can cause us to get angry with God and actually turn our backs on Him.

Take time today to be thankful for whatever God wants to give to us and for what He has done for us already.

Don’t lose sight of His most precious gift to us…His Son.

(Psa 100:4 NKJV) Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.

It doesn’t matter whether we are in the season of feast or the season of famine, we can always find something to be thankful for.

God is a good God and no matter how many things we can find wrong with something, if we look closely we can find something good too. It may take a little more effort to find it sometimes, especially if we are always looking for the downside of things. It will take exercising our brains and our faith to look for the upside of things as well.

I’m not saying we shouldn’t notice the downside, but what I’m saying is we shouldn’t be so focused on always looking for it that we become negative all the time and never be thankful for the good that may be there.

Noticing the downside of things is really a way to know how to pray for something or a particular situation. Once we pray for it, we need to begin to rejoice and trust that God is faithful to answer our prayers.

Start thanking Him and praising Him today!

(Mat 8:7 NKJV)  And Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.”

A centurion had come to Jesus. He told Jesus that his servant was sick and in need of healing. Jesus told the centurion that He would go and heal his servant.

He didn’t say “let me think about it”. He also didn’t say “I will give it my best shot”.

Jesus simply said “I will come and heal him”.

What an example of how we should live our lives. All too often, when God gives us something to do, we say “I’ll give it a try”. Or maybe we say “I’ll think about it”. Or we might even say “I don’t think I want to do that”.

Not only are we disobeying God when we do this, but we are causing ourselves to miss out on huge blessings.

Today is the day to stretch our faith and take action. Today is the day that we need to listen to the voice of God and do as He asks us to do. Today is the day we need to step out and go where God asks us to go.

Will you listen to Him today?

(Mark 16:15 NKJV)  And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.

It’s funny how (Eph 4:11 NKJV) says,  “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers…”

I find this so interesting, that there are different types of ministries for getting the Word of God out there.

There are also those who haven’t necessarily been called into any of these positions but we all have all been called to serve Christ in all that we do, and in doing so we can touch those around us in some way or another.

By working together as one big family, supporting one another and praying for each other, we can reach the world.

Praise God for His plan to save this world!! It’s all beautiful!

(Mat 7:24-27 NKJV)  “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: {25} “and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. {26} “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: {27} “and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”

As I write this, we’re sitting here in RI being hit by hurricane Irene. The storm has been downgraded to a Tropical Storm, but it’s still hitting us with high winds and our power has now gone off, so I’m using my mobile phone to upload this message to the server so it will be sent out on time.

This storm reminds me of the scripture above, where Jesus talked about storms beating against a house that had been built on sand, instead of on solid rock.

There is nothing in this world that can be trusted 100%. Things fail. People fail.

But God never fails. He is the only one we can trust who will never let us down.

If our trust is in Him, we can never go wrong. We will never be left alone and we will never be abandoned.

(Prov 4:25 NKJV)  Let your eyes look straight ahead, And your eyelids look right before you.

There are so many different ways that wandering eyes can get us into trouble and lead us away from God’s path for our lives.

Sometimes we can let our eyes wander and look at things they’re not supposed to look at, such as in the case of the opposite sex.

Other times we can let our eyes wander and look at things that we don’t have, such as in the case of envying someone or coveting a material item that belongs to someone else.

And even worse, we can let our eyes wander and look at the things of the world in a desiring way, ignoring the things that God has already blessed us with.

Any of these things can lead us away from God, causing division between us and Him.

Keeping our eyes straight ahead, on the path in front of us is a good thing.

(Prov 4:13 NKJV)  Take firm hold of instruction, do not let go; Keep her, for she is your life.

Have you ever noticed how some people just seem to have a hard time letting someone teach them things? I know I have struggled with this at times, especially when I was younger.

I’ve learned over the years, though, that instruction is a good thing, especially when it comes from people who have wisdom and experience to share.

Listening to those who have been through things in their lives is a good way to avoid the pitfalls and the mistakes that others have made. It can save us a lot of pain, anger, frustration and heartache.

We just need to listen and apply what we learn.

(Mark 16:17-18 NKJV) “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; {18} “they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

We have authority in Christ!! This scripture is speaking to those who do what? To those who believe! God has given all His children authority through Jesus Christ.

We don’t have to live being controlled by things, because He has given us the power and authority to bind the thing or spirit that is trying to control us. We don’t have to live in poverty, because He has given us power and authority to loose those finances to come to us, to pay our bills, or our debt, to put food on our table and help not just ourselves but those also in need.

He has given us the power and authority to lay hands on the sick, and He promises us that they will recover. All this we can do through the precious name of Jesus, with the power and authority that He has given to us!!
Stand on the Word of God today.
