Mark 9:29 (NKJV) 29 So He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.”
Fasting plays an important part in seeing things through at times. But no one really wants to fast. We don’t see people running around saying, “oh boy, I get to fast today. Yippy!”.
Why? Because it’s HARD.
Going without eating is not easy for anyone. Our body wants to eat. It wants what it wants when it wants it and can be very demanding at times. When we say NO, it has a fit.
Fasting takes discipline. When it comes to fasting, we have to stick to what we have set out to do and when that hunger kicks in, we can’t let it change our minds.
If we are in a situation where we want to see change, but nothing seems to be happening, be prayerful and ask God today if there is more we need to be doing.
Fasting is required in certain situations.

Good afternoon and Praise God,
I am trying to fast for the restoration of families and all the killings in different states. I’m on medication that need to be taken with food. So far, I have gone all day with nothing but a smoothie. I am have some pain in my stomach but not a lot. How do I continue my fast. I really want to finish it.
Hi Vanessa, when you have special medical conditions or requirements, fasting should be approved by your doctor.
In your situation, if food is required when taking your medication, you could replace meals with smoothies and take your medication with your smoothies, but it’s always best to play it safe and check with your M.D. to be on the safe side 🙂
